Guess what year this game takes place in. I’ll bet you can’t. I will bet you can not. But if you said 2064, you’re right. So this is a science fiction game. The future is filled with wonderful things! But the common people is still having the same problems. Low pay, shoddy living conditions, people being against other people.<\/p>\n

But something is about to happen. The first truly sapient AI has appeared!<\/p>\n

This game is a point and click game, which I enjoy. This one really takes advantage of giving you time to look and explore around the environment. There are lots of things to interact with, some seemingly normal, others more in the science fiction range, but everything has something interesting to say. You can slowly explore the game creators view for the world and find out random tidbits by looking at or using things.<\/p>\n

The world is filled with ROMs, which are robotic servants that fulfill a variety of tasks. Things are presented in a simple pixle style. The world is colorful and full of things to see.<\/p>\n

No really. There’s no need for captions.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

You are introduced to Turing early on, you’re robot buddy for the game. He is the most advanced prototype ROM that has true intelligence, and his creator has gone missing. That’s why he goes to you for help.<\/p>\n

The game is based around you and Turing’s relationship. There will be a chances to shape he view on things, and it might even affect how things turn out. Turing is a fun character, and I like having him around. He always tries to be helpful.<\/p>\n

The game is a lot of pointing and clicking with some minigames thrown in. You really get to go in depth to look around at society in the year 2064. There are lots of new things, but some same old problems still pop up.<\/p>\n

For instance, the new target for hate are the hybrids, people that have gene splicing done. Some people do it for fun, but quite a lot do it for medical purposes and are now targetted for diluting what it means to be human.<\/p>\n

There are lots of mechanized people around, though they aren’t as prominently targetted. Beyond that, people are just trying to make their way. Good thing you live in San Francisco, since it sounds like the other cities are doing pretty bad. You actually live in a nice part of the US.<\/p>\n

The game added voice acting some time after it came out. Turing is pretty good. The other characters can feel a bit mundane, though. It’s cool to have, but the game is fine without it. And I am disappointed that one part of the game had no voice acting. That part is the huge drink menu at the bar. I wanted that part voiced! It might have added up to over an hour, but it was interesting to see.<\/p>\n

The plot of the game can be a bit by the numbers. But I think being able to click around the world and look at everything makes it fun. You get to dive into world and poke around. And I like the science fiction setting, which helps. But you can expect conspiracies and more. Who can you trust?<\/p>\n

Or just hang out at the cafe instead.<\/p>\n
