One Shot is a tough game to describe without giving away too much. It is a great experience and I adore the world and the characters that live in it. In the game, you must help Niko get home. Niko is your pal and the one you guide. He is the bearer of the sun, yes, the sun. In that world, the sun is a light bulb. To get home, you must help him get the sun back into its rightful place.<\/p>\n

And you only have One Shot to do it.<\/p>\n

Niko, your cat person friend<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I mean, naw. The game is based on a Flash game where you did actually have One Shot. You quit the game in an unauthorized way, you’re finished. This time, you can leave the game and it’ll save, so don’t worry about doing it all at once. Still, you have one chance. Don’t mess up.<\/p>\n

The world is past its prime<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The game is just so full of charm and life. It tells a story of a decaying world, and it shows in the environment. There is a lot to see and experience as you help Niko along. The setting is as much of a character as everyone else. You can see and imagine what it was like when everything still worked. As for why the world is breaking down, you might discover that, too.<\/p>\n

There is no fighting in this game. You simply guide Niko and help him proceed deeper in. Most people want to help you, though they’re also becoming less and less capable. So it’s up to you.<\/p>\n

What nice leaves on the ground<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Niko is a great character, and you really feel for the plight. Niko is just a kid that wants to get home. They didn’t ask for this, so you have to keep their energy up. Niko has an outsiders view of the world that gives a different perspective on things.<\/p>\n

You get to meet a lot of great characters as you play. There is so much more to each of them than first meets the eye. The people you meet really gives a sense of attachment to the world. They’re fun, sad, and they persevere even as things are breaking down. Getting to know them is great. Even the minor characters are cool. I’m the kind of person that likes to see what everyone says, and everyone has something to say here.<\/p>\n

Don’t trade away your orb!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There is a lot going on in this game’s story. I really like it. It might just be you and Niko trying to restore light to the world, but it’s presented in such a great way. And like the characters, there are layers underneath that makes things more endearing.<\/p>\n

The screenshots really do not do the world and characters justice. Not to mention you can’t hear the soundtrack, which really fits the world. The game isn’t too long, but it presents a place you want to explore and perhaps save.<\/p>\n
