As Kade's name was called by the announcer, he casually walked out into the center of the arena. Kade didn't bother to look around, though he heard loud noises from the crowd.
"Idiots..." he thought. "All excited over some stupid fight that'll end within minutes..."
Kade sighed and looked at the ground.
"Why was I chosen to fight this nobody? This should be somebody else's problem."
Kade merely shrugged it off and looked up from the ground. He saw people with signs, people cheering, and people merely watching on intently.
Kade stared right in front of him, waiting for his opponent to confront him, that is, if he had the courage to even come to Soukyoko Hill.
The day had finally arrived, today was the day of Rio's Soukyoko Hill fight. He had been preparing all week for it and now that the time had come for the fight he had butterflies in his stomach.
What if I lost and brought dishonor to my division? Would they all shun me and turn their backs on me. They all keep telling me that I am fully capable of winning and not to worry to just fight like with honor and all will be ok. But now that he is actually here starting his walk out into the openness of the Arena
Rio looks around. He sees the stands packed full of people now some of which were cheering for him as well some for Kade. He continues to look and he sees the rest of Division Thirteen looking down on him. Rio swallows hard as he looks at them.
They are all counting on me; please don't let me let them down. He looks around at the arena some more and notices some things all around which he feels will help him during his fight. Then he finally sees him standing on the opposite side of the arena looking straight ahead at him. His name was Kade Fuhma, and he was who Rio was to fight on this day.
Looking ahead at the man Rio finally confronts the man he has been hearing about all week.
"So you must be Kade Fuhma. My name is Rio Skyflight and in the name on my division and in the name of all the members of the Skyflight clan I here by accept the challenge set forth today. I won't take it easy on you and may the best man win."
After saying that he bows to his opponent and waits for the announcer to start the fight, so he may finally get this all over with.
For once, her arrival had not been too late. For once, she got there without having to bum rush through the crowds. The place was practically deserted, save for a few who were preoccupied with their own things anyway.
Meigetsu walked the oddly sticky isles and found herself a fairly clean seat right up front. Score! She congratulated herself as she plunked down into it. Once situated, she reached her hands into her pockets and pulled out a thin box of chocolaty goodness.
"Mmm... This should keep me busy until the party starts." She commented with bright eyes and happily started munching away.
About an hour and some empty boxes later, flocks of action seekers started filing into their seats. She straightened her posture and leaned forward in anticipation.
Not only is this the first SK fight in a while, but this is the first SK fight Takero will be covering. I can't wait to see him do his thing~
Kade finally saw his opponent in front of him.
"Very admirable. I guess you have along of honor based on that statement."
Kade was now glaring into the eyes of Rio.
"I hope you have skill to back up your honor. Otherwise, this won't be interesting."
Kade lay his arms at his side and let out a sigh.
"He better give me his best or else he won't live after this."
"When the fight starts," said Kade. "I'll give you the first move."
Kade stared into the eyes of Rio as if he was trying to read this thoughts. What could possibly be going on Rio's mind?
"He's nervous...hell he might even be scared..."
The Announcer finished introducing the two men and that's when Rio charged in. He didn't wait long to test and see what his opponent could do. He pulled out his zanpakutou and went on the attack. He started off his offensive by jumping very high up into the air and as he came down he started spinning in circles, creating a vortex, and with his sword pointing straight down towards Kade. Rio raced like a torpedo at his target.
"Well now I think this is a great way to start our fight. And the fear that you more then likely sensed well that was a ruse I was using to try and make you think you had an edge on me. Well guess what I won't go down without a fight. SO BLOCK THIS ONE."
It was then that Rio's attitude turned from timid to aggressive as he plummeted towards Kade.
Kade remained tranquil and carefully observed Rio's attack.
"Hmm...he's spinning to fast to be stopped. A technique that can't be blocked and is fatal if it hits its target..." Kade chuckled for a moment. "Predictable..."
Kade strafed left, making Rio completely miss his target. As Rio crashed into the ground, Kade unsheathed his zanpakutou swiftly. He held it straight in front of him with his right hand. His left hand stayed at his side, as if waiting for something. Kade's expression hadn't changed. He merely waited for Rio to regroup.
"Let's see his power..."
He noticed it too late. It was too late when Rio saw Kade move just out of the way of his attack. There was nothing he could do though. It wasn't like he could just stop so he crashed into the ground. When he landed it sent up a cloud of dust that covered the entire arena. Once he gained himself again Rio quickly flipped out of the hole back to the nearest wall.
"Well that didn't work not at all. I didn't think it would but it didn't hurt to try it. Well at least I created some cover."
This wasn't the first time this happened either when he was fighting Ryokou yesterday the same thing happened. Except this time Rio had a plan for such a situation. Rio knew right where Kade was because like most people Kade wouldn't have expected all the dust to rise and so to prevent Rio from finding him he would stay in one place.
Knowing this Rio followed his foot steps back to where he fell and he then moved up behind Kade and put him into a bear hug squeezing him as hard as he could.
"Well you wanted to see what I could do, Kade? Here have some of this. And this is just the beginning just you wait."
"Impressive," said Kade. However, unbeknown to him, Kade's right arm was still free. Kade let Rio slowly squeeze tighter and tighter. Kade quickly, quietly, and skillfully flipped his zanpakutou so that it faced the ground. Kade the quickly stabbed down at Rio's right foot.
"Again....an amateur move." thought Kade as he stabbed Rio's right foot.
The pain was so great. Rio released his hold on Kade and looked down at his foot. The blood was gushing out of Rio's foot. He quickly retreated back away from Kade and gathered himself again.
Well this is going bad. What am I going to do now?
Rio pulled out his zanpakutou again and went back in at Kade.
Well I guess if all else fails try old faithful.
Kade immediately turned around to see where Rio had retreated.
"Pretty fast retreat..."
Kade saw Rio running back at him. Rio seemed to have this desperate look on his face, as if dying to at least land one hit on Kade. Kade immediately held his sword out horizontally so as to lessen the strength required to block Rio's attack. Kade then hid his left hand under his right arm and muttered, "Converge light into spaces of darkness..." He pointed two fingers out at Kade from his left hand. Kade then hesitated a moment.
Knowing that unless he landed a hit on this guy then the fight would be over. So he did what he had to do.
I am in control this is for not just me but for all those who are counting on me.
While running straight at him Rio Waited until the last second and when he jumped yet again over Kade. When he was in midair Rio pulled out his sword and in stead of using the Cyclone attack like had done before Rio instead stabbed at Kade's backside with his zanpaktou.
Kade barely noticed Rio's surprise counter-attack. Kade quickly turned his left hand behind him aiming up where Rio was. With two fingers pointing straight at Kade, Kade yelled out "Hadou #4, Byakurai!" A blue laser shot out of Kade's two fingers and were as fast as a bullet.
Kade quickly turned around and held his zanpakutou out in front of him, in case he had to block Rio's surprise attack.
Seeing Kade's finger starting to glow and him also turning around Rio brought down his sword against Kade's, after he barely dodged the bullet flying at him.
He then jumped back up and did back handsprings to get away from Kade. When he landed he looked over everything and he then noticed that there was a bullet hole from the blast in his robe.
"**** It!" shouted Rio. "I just fixed this robe too."
He then proceeded to remove his robe. Exposing his back and front section to everyone, this was the first time anyone in soul society had seen his back and how scared it actually was. All he was wearing then was his pants and his family crest necklace which his dad had left him. He saw it blowing there in the breeze and his fighting spirit was renewed yet again.
That was close, too close. I'm going to have to be more careful if I plan on winning this fight. And I have too much on the line to lose. DAD THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!
"Awesome counter man I salute your awesome skills. But that won't happen again."
Kade propped his zanpakutou up after pushing Rio away from him.
"Hm, I missed...interesting dodge..." thought Kade.
"Thanks for the compliment. However, I haven't seen any skill from you yet. When will I?"
Kade still hadn't changed his expression since the start of the fight. His eyes showed a small sign of...boredom and his face seemed frustrated a bit. Kade still only held his zanpakutou with just his right hand. His left hand still rested at his side.
"I might have to end this soon...this is getting to be a burden," thought Kade.
Seeing that no matter what he did wasn't working. He was starting to get angry. He has been giving it his all and it was getting him no where fast.
LUCAS! I know you can hear me. If we lose this then we have let everyone down. We can't lose this now. Not when we have worked so hard.
Rio, what are you quitting on me already. I may have told you that you need to be just a shinigami but you proved me wrong. You will never be fighting I am here with us. So let's stop this guy right here. Right Now!
Rio then looked up at his opponent.
"You say that I have no skills but I haven't yet begun to fight."
He again went after Kade this time no jumping no tricks, he ran straight at him. With his sword out ready to attack.
"Hm," thought Kade. "I never said he had no skill..."
Kade then ran straight at Rio while holding his left arm out and chanting quickly, "The first ring comes in the morn. The second ring seals in the afternoon. The final ring binds at the day's dusk. Bakudou #8, Sealing Rings."
Three yellow rings instantly came out of Kades left hand and honed in on Rio, very fast.
"He has no chance...this particular kidou spell is like a homing missile...he's practically guaranteed to be caught."
Using a short burst of shunpo to get in front of Kade during his Kidou incantation, Rio used the opening it created to thrust his zanpaktou at his adversary's chest.
Before he knew it though, he saw the three rings come down on him and tightly bind his body together to the point where he was completely and totally unable to move. Rio's burning fire and rage took over his body and he flared his reiatsu outward and struggled against the bind in an attempt to loosen it.
"Is that all you got? Bring it! I'm not finished with you."
As Rio used Shyunpo to get right in front of Kade right after Kade had finished his incantation, Kade instantly stopped running and moved back one step, casuing Rio to barely miss his chest.
" That was close."
Rio was struggling in an attempt to break the rings.
"You can't break them so easily," said Kade. "I've put quite a bit of reiatsu into this Bakudou to ensure you can't break it fast."
Kade then thrust his zanpakutou as fast and as hard as he could, aiming right for Rio's torso.
Noticing the thrust towards him, Rio forced his weight onto his one side to cause his body to be unbalanced and fall over.
When he landed on the ground Rio started to use his reiatsu to release the hold the rings on him. After about a few seconds Rio gained control over the bakudou and he finally forced himself free from the spell.
Once free Rio used his now free legs and sweeped his opponent's legs.
Kade thought he finished Rio, however, Rio had suddenly fallen over and Kade completely missed.
" Impossible!"
As Kade was falling over, he barely saw Rio coming in an attempt to sweep his legs. Kade immediately did a front flip and landed a few feet away from Rio. As if Kade was a machine, he immediately turned around and saw Rio was still in the same place where Kade was. Kade was now holding his zapakutou with both hands. Kade's face now showed amazement and a bit of frustration. However, Kade's eyes looked as if he had gone crazy.
"Now it's a fight!!"
Rio jumped back up to his feat and used the distance between him and Kade to start chanting a kidou of his own.
"From the thousand grains of sand, to the very tops of the mountains. Let us hear you roar Earth Mother. Hadou #13, Inflamari!"
Pouring a lot of his reiatsu into the kidou, a huge wave of fire ignited the ground and shot forward to Kade.
As Rio's kidou honed in on Kade fast, Kade suddenly appeared right next to Rio, on his right side, by using one step of shyunpo since he was only a few feet away. Using his left hand, Kade grabbed Rio's right arm, tightly. With his right hand, he thrust his zanpakutou forward toward Rio's right shoulder.
As Kade's zanpaktou was coming at him Rio took and slammed his own shoulder into Kade, knocking the attack off course. Rio then with his own zanpaktou Rio slashed at Kade.
Kade quickly recovered from Rio's sudden counter and twisted right. Kade was now behind Rio. With Kade's left hand free, he grabbed Rio's hair as fast as he could and slammed him down to the ground as hard as he could.
As he fell to the ground, Rio used his momentum with the full weight of his body to flip his leg up into the air behind him and slam his heel into the back of Kade's head.
Kade felt a sudden pain in the back of his head, though, saw Rio's head go straight into the ground very hard that a couple of pebbles shaked. Rio's body followed soon after.
" He must've kicked me...Too bad he didn't know that his head is now in more pain...He just helped me cause more pain in his head by using the rest of his body to kick me...hell, he might be unconcious..."
Kade shook off the sudden blow from his head. He then slammed his foot onto Rio's neck, ensuring that not only was his head in extreme pain, but his air was cut off as well.
As Kade's foot came down onto Rio's neck he reached behind with both hands and grabbed hold of his opponent's foot. Then Rio, while holding onto the leg still, rolled to the side causing Kade's two legs to separate into a split then Rio released one of his hands from the leg.
"Hadou #10, Red Snow"
The blast flew at Kade at point blank making it almost impossible for him dodge since Rio had hold of his leg.
As Kade's leg split, he heard Rio announce a kidou.
" I can't dodge...But I can,"
As fast as he could Kade rose his zapakoutou's handle with is right hand and held it in front of his face. The hadou hit and smoke was created around Rio and Kade. However, as the smoke cleared, Kade's right hand was bleeding, but, Kade muttered a kidou of his own. Kade held out his pointer and middle finger on his right hand and pointed them right at Rio's chest.
"Converge light into spaces of darkness. Hadou #4, Byakurai." The kidou shot right toward Rio's chest at the speed of a bullet at point blank range.
As the blast came towards him Rio quickly moved his feet underneath himself so that he was up on them, but still crouched over. As he performed his movement, the white lighting flashed by his side and grazed across his shoulder burning a piece of his flesh away. Focusing on mind over matter, Rio took his zanpaktou and jammed it toward Kade's heel.
The zanpakutou came closer and closer to Kade's heel. Kade knew he had to sacrifice his heel for what he was about to do. Rio seemed focused on his heel, so, Kade slashed horizontally with his zanpakutou as silent and as quickly as possible. Kade's zanpakutou inched toward Rio's torso. If it hit its mark, half of Rio's torso would be sliced open and Rio wouldn't even see it coming. At the current speed of both of their attacks, they both would hit at the same time.
Seeing Kade's zanpaktou coming at him Rio twisted his sword back to block Kade's blow. After the attack against him was parried Rio back flips five feet away from where he just was.
Wow that one was really close.
Looking to where the slash would have hit him if he connected. Rio quickly breathes out but then returns his focus back to Kade.
Let's not let that happen again.
"Hadou #10, Red Snow"

As soon as Rio backflipped, Kade backflipped as well only to regain his footing. As Rio's kidou was released, Kade held his zanpakutou out in front of him and bent his arms slightly. He then shyunpoed right in front of Rio with his zanpakutou pointing at Rio's torso and instantly extended his arms.
" He's merely milimeters away from me...it's impossible for him to dodge let alone block now...this stab is almost as fast as my shyunpo at this range..."
As Kade's blade came right towards him, Rio uses his own zanpaktou to parry his opponent's attack.
He's not the only one who can use a shunpo.
Rio then shunpos to the right side of Kade, and then Rio thrusts his own zanpaktou towards Kade's chest.
Rio's zanpakutou flew toward Kade at an amazing speed, however, Kade forced himself to fall on his back, causing Rio to only fall forward, hitting nothing but air. As Kade fell to the ground he slashed at Rio's kneecap, in an attempt to create a deep wound.
Neglecting to see if his zanpakutou his its mark, as soon as Kade hit the ground, he instantly rolled away from Rio and jumped back up to his feet. He looked right at Rio and held his zanpakutou in front of him.
Bullets of sweat ran down Kade's face and small pants began to show.
" Not much time left,"
As Kade fell down ward to avoid his attack, Rio started to fall over. Rio noticed that Kade was slashing at his knee so he quickly did a diving roll to avoid the attack. He then finished the roll and recovered back to his feet. Rio looked at his opponent; both men were sweating all over and breathing very heavy.
Rio then started chanting the one spell he hadn't use yet.
"As God molded the Earth, may I mold your Flesh. Hadou #1, Yakekoge."
Rio then took his zanpaktou and threw it at Kade making it fly like spear at him. Rio used the distraction the zanpaktou caused to make his final attack on Kade. He uses his shunpo one final time and brings himself right behind Kade. He then puts his hands together and with the added strength of the fire from his spell Rio strikes Kade in the middle of his back with a powerful blow, called an energy transfer.
Kade's eyes blurred as he saw Rio sweating almost as much as him. The extensive use of kidou and shyunpo in such a short amount of time completely tired Kade out. When Rio threw his zanpakutou, Kade fell to his knees out of exhaustion.
" It can't end here..."
A moment later, Kade felt a burning sensation on the top of his head.
"Fire!" he muttered.
Kade, for a moment, woke up and used his zanpakutou to stab the air behind him, where Rio's right knee was.
As the blade hit his knee it made Rio's adrenaline start pumping into over drive. The pain he was in was so great but Rio needed to finish the fight. He used the last bit of the strength he had to take his zanpakutou, and with the flat end of the blade, Rio swung it downward at Kade's head. Kade went down and along with him Rio. Both men were exhausted to the point where neither had anymore to give. The fight was over and as the medics come out to treat both me,. Rio looked up at the crowds. He saw the faces of all the shinigami. Every one of them were on their feet cheering and clapping for the two men. Rio also looks over to see that his fellow members of the Thirteenth Division were also on their feet and they all had a look on their faces showing that they were proud of how Rio fought on that day. And then he was finally all the way out...
Kade felt a sudden pain on his head and fell to the ground. He looked up with blurry eyes and saw his Vice-Captain, Shiroi , and 3rd Seat Officer Louhi looking at him. Kade tried to determine what kind of look was on each of their faces, however, was too exhausted to completely interpret.
Moments before the medical squad came to pick him up, Kade muttered, "I hope I met your expectations, Shiroi.
As soon as the medical squad showed up, Kade was unconscious and, for once, wasn't disappointed he tied with someone in a fight.

"**** It!" shouted Rio. "I just fixed this robe too."
He then proceeded to remove his robe. Exposing his back and front section to everyone, this was the first time anyone in soul society had seen his back and how scared it actually was. All he was wearing then was his pants and his family crest necklace which his dad had left him. He saw it blowing there in the breeze and his fighting spirit was renewed yet again.
That was close, too close. I'm going to have to be more careful if I plan on winning this fight. And I have too much on the line to lose. DAD THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!
"Awesome counter man I salute your awesome skills. But that won't happen again."
Kade propped his zanpakutou up after pushing Rio away from him.
"Hm, I missed...interesting dodge..." thought Kade.
"Thanks for the compliment. However, I haven't seen any skill from you yet. When will I?"
Kade still hadn't changed his expression since the start of the fight. His eyes showed a small sign of...boredom and his face seemed frustrated a bit. Kade still only held his zanpakutou with just his right hand. His left hand still rested at his side.
"I might have to end this soon...this is getting to be a burden," thought Kade.
Seeing that no matter what he did wasn't working. He was starting to get angry. He has been giving it his all and it was getting him no where fast.
LUCAS! I know you can hear me. If we lose this then we have let everyone down. We can't lose this now. Not when we have worked so hard.
Rio, what are you quitting on me already. I may have told you that you need to be just a shinigami but you proved me wrong. You will never be fighting I am here with us. So let's stop this guy right here. Right Now!
Rio then looked up at his opponent.
"You say that I have no skills but I haven't yet begun to fight."
He again went after Kade this time no jumping no tricks, he ran straight at him. With his sword out ready to attack.
"Hm," thought Kade. "I never said he had no skill..."
Kade then ran straight at Rio while holding his left arm out and chanting quickly, "The first ring comes in the morn. The second ring seals in the afternoon. The final ring binds at the day's dusk. Bakudou #8, Sealing Rings."
Three yellow rings instantly came out of Kades left hand and honed in on Rio, very fast.
"He has no chance...this particular kidou spell is like a homing missile...he's practically guaranteed to be caught."
Using a short burst of shunpo to get in front of Kade during his Kidou incantation, Rio used the opening it created to thrust his zanpaktou at his adversary's chest.
Before he knew it though, he saw the three rings come down on him and tightly bind his body together to the point where he was completely and totally unable to move. Rio's burning fire and rage took over his body and he flared his reiatsu outward and struggled against the bind in an attempt to loosen it.
"Is that all you got? Bring it! I'm not finished with you."
As Rio used Shyunpo to get right in front of Kade right after Kade had finished his incantation, Kade instantly stopped running and moved back one step, casuing Rio to barely miss his chest.
" That was close."
Rio was struggling in an attempt to break the rings.
"You can't break them so easily," said Kade. "I've put quite a bit of reiatsu into this Bakudou to ensure you can't break it fast."
Kade then thrust his zanpakutou as fast and as hard as he could, aiming right for Rio's torso.
Noticing the thrust towards him, Rio forced his weight onto his one side to cause his body to be unbalanced and fall over.
When he landed on the ground Rio started to use his reiatsu to release the hold the rings on him. After about a few seconds Rio gained control over the bakudou and he finally forced himself free from the spell.
Once free Rio used his now free legs and sweeped his opponent's legs.
Kade thought he finished Rio, however, Rio had suddenly fallen over and Kade completely missed.
" Impossible!"
As Kade was falling over, he barely saw Rio coming in an attempt to sweep his legs. Kade immediately did a front flip and landed a few feet away from Rio. As if Kade was a machine, he immediately turned around and saw Rio was still in the same place where Kade was. Kade was now holding his zapakutou with both hands. Kade's face now showed amazement and a bit of frustration. However, Kade's eyes looked as if he had gone crazy.
"Now it's a fight!!"
Rio jumped back up to his feat and used the distance between him and Kade to start chanting a kidou of his own.
"From the thousand grains of sand, to the very tops of the mountains. Let us hear you roar Earth Mother. Hadou #13, Inflamari!"
Pouring a lot of his reiatsu into the kidou, a huge wave of fire ignited the ground and shot forward to Kade.
As Rio's kidou honed in on Kade fast, Kade suddenly appeared right next to Rio, on his right side, by using one step of shyunpo since he was only a few feet away. Using his left hand, Kade grabbed Rio's right arm, tightly. With his right hand, he thrust his zanpakutou forward toward Rio's right shoulder.
As Kade's zanpaktou was coming at him Rio took and slammed his own shoulder into Kade, knocking the attack off course. Rio then with his own zanpaktou Rio slashed at Kade.
Kade quickly recovered from Rio's sudden counter and twisted right. Kade was now behind Rio. With Kade's left hand free, he grabbed Rio's hair as fast as he could and slammed him down to the ground as hard as he could.
As he fell to the ground, Rio used his momentum with the full weight of his body to flip his leg up into the air behind him and slam his heel into the back of Kade's head.
Kade felt a sudden pain in the back of his head, though, saw Rio's head go straight into the ground very hard that a couple of pebbles shaked. Rio's body followed soon after.
" He must've kicked me...Too bad he didn't know that his head is now in more pain...He just helped me cause more pain in his head by using the rest of his body to kick me...hell, he might be unconcious..."
Kade shook off the sudden blow from his head. He then slammed his foot onto Rio's neck, ensuring that not only was his head in extreme pain, but his air was cut off as well.
As Kade's foot came down onto Rio's neck he reached behind with both hands and grabbed hold of his opponent's foot. Then Rio, while holding onto the leg still, rolled to the side causing Kade's two legs to separate into a split then Rio released one of his hands from the leg.
"Hadou #10, Red Snow"
The blast flew at Kade at point blank making it almost impossible for him dodge since Rio had hold of his leg.
As Kade's leg split, he heard Rio announce a kidou.
" I can't dodge...But I can,"
As fast as he could Kade rose his zapakoutou's handle with is right hand and held it in front of his face. The hadou hit and smoke was created around Rio and Kade. However, as the smoke cleared, Kade's right hand was bleeding, but, Kade muttered a kidou of his own. Kade held out his pointer and middle finger on his right hand and pointed them right at Rio's chest.
"Converge light into spaces of darkness. Hadou #4, Byakurai." The kidou shot right toward Rio's chest at the speed of a bullet at point blank range.
As the blast came towards him Rio quickly moved his feet underneath himself so that he was up on them, but still crouched over. As he performed his movement, the white lighting flashed by his side and grazed across his shoulder burning a piece of his flesh away. Focusing on mind over matter, Rio took his zanpaktou and jammed it toward Kade's heel.
The zanpakutou came closer and closer to Kade's heel. Kade knew he had to sacrifice his heel for what he was about to do. Rio seemed focused on his heel, so, Kade slashed horizontally with his zanpakutou as silent and as quickly as possible. Kade's zanpakutou inched toward Rio's torso. If it hit its mark, half of Rio's torso would be sliced open and Rio wouldn't even see it coming. At the current speed of both of their attacks, they both would hit at the same time.
Seeing Kade's zanpaktou coming at him Rio twisted his sword back to block Kade's blow. After the attack against him was parried Rio back flips five feet away from where he just was.
Wow that one was really close.
Looking to where the slash would have hit him if he connected. Rio quickly breathes out but then returns his focus back to Kade.
Let's not let that happen again.
"Hadou #10, Red Snow"
Rio sent another blast towards Kade who was still on the ground.
As soon as Rio backflipped, Kade backflipped as well only to regain his footing. As Rio's kidou was released, Kade held his zanpakutou out in front of him and bent his arms slightly. He then shyunpoed right in front of Rio with his zanpakutou pointing at Rio's torso and instantly extended his arms.
" He's merely milimeters away from me...it's impossible for him to dodge let alone block now...this stab is almost as fast as my shyunpo at this range..."
As Kade's blade came right towards him, Rio uses his own zanpaktou to parry his opponent's attack.
He's not the only one who can use a shunpo.
Rio then shunpos to the right side of Kade, and then Rio thrusts his own zanpaktou towards Kade's chest.
Rio's zanpakutou flew toward Kade at an amazing speed, however, Kade forced himself to fall on his back, causing Rio to only fall forward, hitting nothing but air. As Kade fell to the ground he slashed at Rio's kneecap, in an attempt to create a deep wound.
Neglecting to see if his zanpakutou his its mark, as soon as Kade hit the ground, he instantly rolled away from Rio and jumped back up to his feet. He looked right at Rio and held his zanpakutou in front of him.
Bullets of sweat ran down Kade's face and small pants began to show.
" Not much time left,"
As Kade fell down ward to avoid his attack, Rio started to fall over. Rio noticed that Kade was slashing at his knee so he quickly did a diving roll to avoid the attack. He then finished the roll and recovered back to his feet. Rio looked at his opponent; both men were sweating all over and breathing very heavy.
Rio then started chanting the one spell he hadn't use yet.
"As God molded the Earth, may I mold your Flesh. Hadou #1, Yakekoge."
Rio then took his zanpaktou and threw it at Kade making it fly like spear at him. Rio used the distraction the zanpaktou caused to make his final attack on Kade. He uses his shunpo one final time and brings himself right behind Kade. He then puts his hands together and with the added strength of the fire from his spell Rio strikes Kade in the middle of his back with a powerful blow, called an energy transfer.
Kade's eyes blurred as he saw Rio sweating almost as much as him. The extensive use of kidou and shyunpo in such a short amount of time completely tired Kade out. When Rio threw his zanpakutou, Kade fell to his knees out of exhaustion.
" It can't end here..."
A moment later, Kade felt a burning sensation on the top of his head.
"Fire!" he muttered.
Kade, for a moment, woke up and used his zanpakutou to stab the air behind him, where Rio's right knee was.
As the blade hit his knee it made Rio's adrenaline start pumping into over drive. The pain he was in was so great but Rio needed to finish the fight. He used the last bit of the strength he had to take his zanpakutou, and with the flat end of the blade, Rio swung it downward at Kade's head. Kade went down and along with him Rio. Both men were exhausted to the point where neither had anymore to give. The fight was over and as the medics come out to treat both me,. Rio looked up at the crowds. He saw the faces of all the shinigami. Every one of them were on their feet cheering and clapping for the two men. Rio also looks over to see that his fellow members of the Thirteenth Division were also on their feet and they all had a look on their faces showing that they were proud of how Rio fought on that day. And then he was finally all the way out...
Kade felt a sudden pain on his head and fell to the ground. He looked up with blurry eyes and saw his Vice-Captain, Shiroi , and 3rd Seat Officer Louhi looking at him. Kade tried to determine what kind of look was on each of their faces, however, was too exhausted to completely interpret.
Moments before the medical squad came to pick him up, Kade muttered, "I hope I met your expectations, Shiroi.
As soon as the medical squad showed up, Kade was unconscious and, for once, wasn't disappointed he tied with someone in a fight.
