Matteo Bice
Age: 14
Physical Stature: Matteo is short. Very short. The kid is four feet at the absolute max, and his dark red hair, purposely kept curly and comes just short of his tired green eyes. His mouth, whether it be frowning, smiling, or in a thin, angry line, always shows just a bit of oddly sharp teeth.
The youth’s tan skin coincides nicely with his uniform, but most people never get to see the combination, as he tries to stay in uniform as little as possible, preferring a long sleeved shirt and vest combined with whatever hat he finds in his collection at the time. When he does go in uniform, however, he is always careful to keep it clean and unwrinkled if he can. It helps that it’s such a small color. Stains don’t show themselves as easily.
Persona: Matteo is still, at his heart, a kid. He would to be able to just play games, run around, have fun, and generally be a carefree child. This he knows, acknowledges, and then tries to bury deep within to fuel his even greater desire to be considered an "adult.” As one of, if not the, youngest members of Die Rasse, the boy constantly feels pressured to act super mature, with no room taken to have fun while on the job. He’s even been known to overcompensate, refusing to listen to reason if he thinks that a certain way is how an grown man would do it.
Still, specks of his childish core show through. The Quincy keeps little knick-knacks in his corner of the world, such as an ever growing collection of hats and a small thing of jigsaw puzzles. If he lets his guard down, he’ll often be distracted or amazed by the many wonders that Tokyo has to offer in the way of kid friendly fun. One of the biggest problems he has, in fact, is talking to pretty girls. There is something about them that always gets him nervous and sweaty, and he tries compensate by trying to act even older than he normally does.
Bio: Abandoned as a child in Italy, young Matteo was picked up by a family of traveling missionaries. Giving him his name, they took him along their journey across Europe, where he spent years spreading good will and cheer to all. It was a happy, yet simple time in his life.
On the day before his twelfth birthday, however, the young quincy’s brooding power, though minimal, was finally enough to bring the supernatural to his home. Two men appeared, and, with their quick words and sharp wit, they convinced that them that they were Matteo’s birth family, and, after pouring over old family trees, had come to take their cousin back. While there was much arguing, eventually, the child told his current parents that he would go with them, as they had told him of his duty to his family, and duty was something that the missionaries had always held sacred.
That was the last day that he saw his family, and the boy has been with the Die Rasse ever since. Just now, after his fourteenth birthday, Matteo has finally been deemed fit to be a field operative, and to fulfill the family duty that has been given to him.
