One after the other, the three attacks hit in succession. The beast was overwhelmed by the sudden combination of attack that assaulted it. The sniper shot ripped through the bone mask once more, the hard calcium disintegrating away to reveal the damaged eye underneath. However, before the beast could even react, two more assaults hit true.

The woman’s heavy blade initially met resistance from the scales that covered the top of the beast’s wing. However, they were quickly ripped through as the full force of the attack tore into it. The blade ripped through the flesh, a trail of green blood splattering outwards and onto the young woman. Unstable energy stored in the wings erupted outwards, as the dragon lost control over the magic in that wing. The bones shattered from the impact, the beast frantically seizing its wing in pain. The woman was thrown back as the beast began to trample around.

For Riley’s part, his fist made contact with the hind leg with surprising force. As he withdrew his fist, scales shattered around the source of impact, revealing bruised flesh underneath. However, the beast’s attention was more focused on the pain radiating out of its wing and protecting its vulnerable eye.

Before the gathered could rest, a surprising amount of energy exited the beast’s body. A panicked counter attack, no longer interested in systematically eliminating individuals, was levelled towards the gathered.

What appeared to be seven different crimson portals appeared around the dragon. They were similar to the portals that razed the city earlier, though noticeably smaller in size. One crimson portal appeared next to each of the gathered individuals, the heat from the portals already being insufferable. An additional portal appeared next to Deni and Aelflead, the two who had done the most damage to it.

With little care for actual aim, immense pillars of flame erupted from the portals. Vibrant red flames surged out with a deafening roar, ready to burn all in their path to cinders. All the while the beast continued to trample the ground below it in pain, stomping primally around to simply crush the attackers underfoot.
Each of those pillars is an Infurnus and is treated as 2 tiers of damage. Pillars of fire and whatnot. It's pretty damage and at this point it's not really aiming that well other than just putting the portals around people. They're pillars of fire but at this point it's strategy is more... 'burn everything especially all of these annoying people' and it's stomping around and making ruckus.

Two pillars aimed at Deni and Aelflead each, one for everyone else.

The eye is visible.

"Ha!" The redhead cried triumphantly as her blade struck true in the demon's flesh, a triumphance that was soon replaced by surprise as she found herself hurtling through the air from the wake of destruction she had wrought.

She'd had enough time to think before she landed though and hit the ground in what could be considered a bit less than a textbook roll. Aelf turned in the air and met the ground roughly with her shoulder, quickly shoving her weight onto her back, side, hip, and then let herself collapse back against the ground with a groan. The lack of weight in her hand told her that her sword was missing, but was a bit too bruised up to properly care.

She lifted herself up slowly into sitting position and watched the beast thrash wildly in pain with vindictive smirk. "Take that, ya scaly bast-!" Her taunt however was cut short by sudden appearance of an Infernalis portal in front of her. Her eyes went wide at the shape of the quickly widening portal, what was once just the size of a dahl was quickly a dinner plate, and that plate was now the size of a carriage wheel in front of her. Aelflead dove to left in her panic and the sound of the roaring flames bursting through the portal behind her sounded her success, there was a strangely pungent smell in the air though, but it could be important later. Now she had bigger problems.

No sooner did she hit the ground than did the next one form and release another vicious jet of flame. The red plasma hit her right shoulder with the force of a hammer, and tore through the leather beneath her cloak like water against paper. "Augh!" The warrior cried out, the hellish fire twisting her relief into a grimace of pain. Steeling herself against it though, she growled indignation through clenched teeth and rolled away, wrenching herself from the angry pillar of flames with some effort.

Adrenaline pumping through her now as she batted at the red flames that'd caught her cloak up in their rage, the woman turned her attentions back on the demon who at this point, could have been mistaken for her brother. Her eyes held the same rage, and with her hair singed out of it's messy thick braid, it fell over her shoulders and stuck out around her head like the corona of the dark disc floating high above them in the sky; her right shoulder was a bright angry red signifying the burn, and what wasn't burnt, (or burning) of her clothes, was sopping wet with the demon's green ichor.

Scarlet and sea-green eyes scanned the battlefield for the golden weapon she'd dropped in her fall, and spotted the aruitium blade still stuck precariously into the beast's wing at the site of her impact. Looking at the rest of the wing showed enough of the scales remained to climb up the wing and strike again. There was just one small problem, and it became increasingly more evident as she found difficulty in drawing the bigatium sword at her hip.

Doggedly relying on own's strength required stubbornness equal to the capacity use it, the lack of the latter, or undisciplined usage could leave a warrior in a state where merely drawing their sword could exhaust them. This is where Aelflead was now.
Her first teacher, Velden, had warned her about using that technique spur of the moment, though it wasn't as if Aelflead were the most obedient student.

The spurii's breath came heavily as she felt the last of the power she'd charged her body with just moments before fade and leave her muscles drained as though she'd ran a marathon. "Looks like, I'm out of practice." Her blade slid heavily from her sheath and the tip of the blade met the ground like she wanted to meet a bed. She shook her head, she couldn't think about sleep she had to focus on staying mobile; getting stepped on was not worth the rest it'd give. C'mon move, a few minutes and you'll be fine. Idiot's don't get naps, right? She mumbled to herself as she lifted each foot, on after another; dodging and diving between feet as the dragon stomped, and keeping her eye on the gleaming golden blade stranded above, she kept herself poised for a chance to reclaim it.

The athlete had gathered most of his strength already but the demonic beast just kept attacking relentlessly as yet another portal assaulted him. Diving to the dirt, making sure to avoid hitting the ground with his fractured arm first, as the flames erupted. Hitting the ground with a thud Dante felt a singing pain in his left leg, glancing down he saw that it had been licked by the flames slightly, showing his pale skin that had been charred slightly. The tremors from the tantruming beast hastened his standing up as he tried to create distance between himself and the dragon.

His thoughts were muddy from all the beating he had taken, the athlete uttered a small prayer as he took to his fast stride again, even if it had been slowed down considerably.

”O wondrous light, I beseech you to mend these wounds,” his left hand began to glow and he touched his right rib which had been punched by the demonic claws and had caused him to fall down. Almost immediately he could feel the prayer easing the athlete's condition.

Wondering about what was the situation in where the dragon had shot the massive lightning blast he began to run towards the stadium again. The athlete tried to figure out what best way he could help even with his hindering injuries. It would take him a long time to reach back to the stadium.

Ignis had barely nodded in response to Deni’s request when vibrations and rumbling made her head snap up. Eyes widening, the enlil scrambled to her feet, urging reluctant limbs to move faster. The avian hastily grabbed her minion and dove. A pillar of flames singed her robes as she haphazardly barrelled into Deni and pushed him away with as much force as she could muster.

The following tumble, much like the rest of the events transpiring around that hellish being, seemed entirely surreal. The velen’s world spun as he rolled across the ground. A burning sensation already coursed through his body so he couldn’t pinpoint a particular pain. He had no idea whether the beast’s reckless attack had struck him, or whether Ignis had managed to move him in time.

Already, vines and bark had begun to materialize in front of her --a reflex on Amicus' part by this point-- but flames incinerated the shield before it could fully manifest and slammed into Ignis. It was uncomfortably hot and horribly terrifying. The mere idea of fire near her leafy companion nearly froze her with fear. She heaved her body again and began to roll to smother the flames. Smoke filled her nose and made her eyes squeeze shut. The Aquila cursed smell of burning flesh and feathers choked her. Distantly, she registered a pitiful noise --Amicus. Ignis worked harder, flopping around and coughing.

“Shit!”

Deni immediately leapt up to rush to her side, but yelped in agony at the first motion. Tears of pain welling up in his eyes, he refused to turn his head back towards his legs. He could feel the burnt skin peeling with the swift motion. The smell of seared flesh was bad enough. He was afraid he’d throw up if he saw his leg in such a state. The bastard demon’s attack landed after all.

He lifted his rifle and aimed down the sights. He wanted to help Ignis, but that demon needed to be put in its place. His breathing calmed, though his pulse remained heavy. The merciless pain of his injuries burned through his body. Moisture clogged up his vision. It was difficult to aim. Then he became aware of the horrible gurgling, choking sound that came from the enlil woman. The fire that made him want to murder that creature seemed to waver. Survival was more important. After all, it wasn’t his responsibility to defend the city.

With an exasperated grunt, he lowered his rifle. He limped over to Ignis and began to pat against her burning feathers with the remaining sections of his jacket. Once the flames had died, he found himself offering a suggestion.

“We need to get out of here, Iggy,” Deni said in an exhausted tone. “We don’t need to die as martyrs here.”

She stopped rolling and wheezed, expelling smoke from her lips in the process. Her eyes watered, and though she couldn't feel any pain, tears dripped down her cheeks. Ignis wiped at the liquid on her face, but only succeeded in smearing the tears with blood and ashes on her face. It felt gritty and wet under her fingers.

Ignis’ head turned towards the sound of Deni's voice, but her eyes refused to open. Leave? The idea hadn't quite occurred to her, but with the way Amicus was feeling, she actually considered it.

“Can...” she sucked in more air, “can you move fast enough?” A cough. “I don't... I don't know if I can.”

Amicus' hands began to glow and Deni felt a cool sensation on his more injured leg. The little mons infans was in too much shock and pain to be elated, but he was relieved someone could get them out of this nightmare.

Deni nodded a little too zealously. He wasn’t sure whether he was trying to convince Ignis or himself. Not that he needed too much convincing. As much as fighting felt like the most natural response earlier, the overwhelming force of the evil creature that he had witnessed made him want to flee in the opposite direction.

The velen sighed at the soothing sensation that reached his singed leg. He could have kissed the little tree thing for that. He supposed he could settle for its tamer instead, once they escaped.

“I’m taking one more shot,” he said, lifting his rifle. “As long as you make sure I can move, we’re getting out of here.”

Ignis began mumbling a prayer to Aquila, voice hoarse. Healing Deni would take a little longer, and once Amicus’ protection wore off, she would be all but useless.

Deni took aim one more time at the flailing beast. He wasn’t sure if it was close to death or nearly out of energy after so many bellator spells, but he didn’t care. All that mattered was that he and Ignis got out of there alive. As he inhaled one breath deeply, his sight fixed on the eye inside the creature’s mouth.

Bang.

Ignis flinched at the sound of Deni’s gun, but resumed her prayer. An iron wall rose up at an angle to shield them from the inevitable retaliation. The enlil focused on Amicus’ progress in healing the rogue to help ignore the horrid smell of burnt flesh and feathers.

[475/3,141]

[400/3,078]

Tier 6 shot from Deni to dragon eye. Ignis used Iron Bastion and is using Amicus to heal Deni's leg. As much as this fight is likely nearly over, Deni doesn't know that and has no intention of dying, so the pair of them will likely bolt soon.

The shot rang through the air. The dragon still blinded with rage continued to stomp around, not prepared for the oncoming assault. Once again, the sniper bolt ripped into the now vulnerable eye. The dragon roared with pain, rearing up into both of its hind legs in pain and shock. Green blood oozed out of the wound, splattering down on the ground and the nearby buildings.

“Insects! Ants!”
it roared in anger, landing down again with a tumultuous thud.

It collapsed down to ground level, the injured eye vulnerable and rolling haphazardly on the ground. It was still connected barely to the fragmented skull by a weak nerve. The eye continued to pulsate out green blood, as it rolled up towards Deni and Ignis. It roared loudly, though this time appeared not to be able to return to its feet. Its deep roars began to become impossible to understand, though the intention was very clear. Even in its injured state, it still desperately wished to eradicate all around it.

Four crimson circles appeared around its body, a sight that was immediately recognizable to the group. They appeared filled with boiling magma, bubbling and swirling with destructive power. The temperature began to climb, as the portals began to expand in size. This time they appeared to be surrounding the dragon entirely, was it seeking to remove the pests along with itself? After all, it would simply return to Infernalis! The pests on the other hand did not personally have that luxury.

It's blowing up in a turn. Do you want to try to finish it off and hope for the best and stuff the explosion. Or do you just want to run.

Aelflead hit the ground again with an 'unf!' from her dive to dodge the dragon's most recent flailing of pain and growled in pain. When she stood her eyes widened, and then immediately squinted at the immense light and heat coming from the portals forming around the massive demon. She staggered a bit back from the sheer heat and looked around to see the state of the rest of the fighters she'd noticed before.

The laicar that'd given her the lift earlier was still someways behind her and his resolve to stay seemed fading, and a glance towards the stadium where she'd seen the Bilthent and Claireen run off to looked as though it'd been hit repeatedly with a wrecking ball in one particular spot and she didn't see any movement for that matter either. She almost felt bad for the two, but she figured good times had to come to an end some time. It's not like pure-bloods don't get plenty of them. The redhead frowned a moment, speaking of pure-bloods, where's bighead himself? I know I heard him. She glanced around for the self-important laicar called Soldier, and shrugged when she found no sign of him.

She turned back towards the dragon and immediately regretted it when the heat hit her face again, and decided now would be a good time to cut her losses and run. A city was nothing, memories or not, if she was too dead to have them. She scanned the area again, this time for her golden colored sword in hopes that it had fallen off of the dragon somehow in it's thrashing and was rewarded for her diligence. The massive one-sided Aruitium blade was sticking out of the ground handle up again a few meters off, and in roughly the direction she needed to run.

With a sniff of departure and a crack of her neck she took off into as brisk a run as her injuries would allow, wishing she'd worn flame retardants or some armor to help with her burns. Now she only hoped that her troublemaker of a kid sister hadn't gotten into any trouble in the rest of the city.

Deni’s bloodshot eyes seemed to sag as he gazed upon the dragon. The way it glowed with that familiar visae, the way the bellator spell seemed to consume the foul demon... it looked like it was about to explode. Who knew what destructive force it was about to unleash? Whether it would barely reach a few feet in front of the creature or consume a city block, the velen didn’t want to stay and find out.

“Shitsticks,” Deni muttered. One webbed hand tugged at Ignis’ arm. “We need to get out of here. Now.”

Ignis groaned hoarsely and tried to sit up. Her body was slow to move though she couldn't feel any pain just yet. Injuries had made her muscles reluctant to respond. She nodded once, eyes finally opening a crack.

Amicus immediately conjured another platform for her; there was no way his contractor would be escaping under her own power.

Ignis sagged a little at the drain of energy.

The gunslinger wrapped his long arms around Ignis’ ribs and torso. Her body seemed so frail. If not for Amicus, she might not have survived half of the fight.

Deni groaned as he heaved her slender frame onto the leafy platform. A long hiss left him as he fell to one knee. Shifting the enlil, despite how small she was, managed to aggravate the burn on his shin. Water welled up in his eyes at the searing, stinging pain. His breathing became even more sporadic. It became apparent to Deni that they weren’t going to be able to ride away into the sunset. So much for a fairytale ending to match an otherwise nightmarish day.

“Come on, Amicus, my man,” he shouted. “I’ll get you the finest berries from Boreas if you’ve got one last shield in you.”

Amicus shivered, the pain of Ignis’ injuries threatening to overwhelm him. The little mons infans rustled again, tugging on Ignis' still semi-full reserves.

The air shimmered, the light slowly taking the form of leaves and vines.

The familiar panted, twiggy fingers clutching at Ignis' chest. He'd never crafted so many shields in such quick succession. Ignis' vigor burned in his veins as he tried to channel it.

Ignis whimpered, curling in on herself. As Amicus' concentration wavered, she could feel the numbness fading.

Deni limped to Ignis’ side as the shield stretched above the pair of them. He ensured his back faced the direction of the dragon but beyond that, he hardly thought of the creature at all. Looming over his enlil partner, he noticed every gash, every singed feather. Then, the pain in her eyes. Absentmindedly, he caressed one of her unburnt feathers.

“It’ll be alright,” the velen whispered with a raspy croak. For all he knew, that could have been a lie. It could have been their last few moments alive. Deni had nearly been killed in a panic before. This time it was going to be different. If he was going to die there, fear wasn't going to be among his final emotions.

The roars of the dragon sent a chill down the athlete's spine, whose legs felt heavy under him, each stride more difficult than the last. The searing heat from the portals was oppressive on Dante and it spurred him on, pushing his already weary and fatigued muscles, squeezing what little he had left as he ran away from the dragon as hard as he could. To his left the kinner saw some rubble and without a second thought dove behind them, hoping that he was far enough and that it would protect him from the impending outburst of fiery death.

Things were hitting the fan rather fast and his instinct took control, something bad was about to happen and he did not want to be anywhere near it. Turning on his heel and tapping into all the strength in his leg muscles and takes off running as fast and hard as he can.

He refused to hurt his back as that could cost him speed, speed which was too important to lose.

The air around the draconic beast began to boil, waves of energy mixing with the immense amount of power it was storing as its final attack. While this technique was suicide when used in Infernalis, it was merely an annoyance to it when using in this plane. A brilliant conflagration would surely leave its mark on the surrounding area, and if it was lucky, engulf a few pests in turn.

The four Bellator portals began to shrink towards the demon. The scales that covered its body began to melt off, its skin being dissolved into what appeared to unstable magma. The fleshy, exposed eye dissolved away, the remaining portions of the skull mask melting as the energy reached its pinnacle.

In a violent explosion, the magic erupted in all directions. The volcanic detonation shook the very ground, lava spewing all directions from the dragon’s body. The magma congealed into a stream after the explosion, tearing apart the buildings around the beast’s husk. While Ignis and Deni were far removed from the cataclysm, the streams of magma began to coat the ground as the remaining three struggled to out run it.

A low rumbling roar syncopated through the ground. The demon’s spirit faded from the world, returning to its home for the time being. However, as long as the portal remained open, the beast would simply return after it recuperated its strength.

However, while magnificent in its own right, Terminus still was filled with the laughter of demons.
