(Someone had told me they were going to be reviewing this, and I didn't realize that never happened. Sorry for the long-overdue comments!)
I actually really liked this. Vita embodies the more machine side of demvir, which makes perfect sense considering his rejection of all organic beings. In his choice to be one or another, he chooses to be machine. It suits his analytical mindset. I like how enchanting arrays are broken down into math and algebra for him, and I mentioned recently in another review that I love how each writer makes enchanting their own in some way. Not only does Vita do this, but the writing actually acknowledges that Albinon's enchanting methods are different from Vita's, and while he can't immediately decipher the foreign arrays, he can recognize the undercurrents of the powers in play.
Great creativity and I look forward to the next time you get a chance to write.
