[Other Notes]:
- Because of time spent in the First Division, Tenshirou is one of few swordsman that wields two swords. Setsuna, his second doutanuki, is constantly by his side and Tenshirou is known by few to be very good with the two weapons in combat.
- As of volume 70, Tenshirou has become a master of disguise and escapist, able to not only change his appearance quickly, but also able to get out of the most complex of bindings. He can break into several types of locks yet excels in standard and electronic locks. In addition, during Tenshirou's brief stay on earth, he's also mastered several personal voices that allow him to change the pitch and tone of his voice without a device, able to sound like anyone he's heard at least once as well as quick change disguise. Lastly, because of his lessons on earth, he's also become a genius at slight of hand and diversionary tactics.
[Persona]:
- A very cheerful person, he seems to be able to brighten up the life of anyone he comes in contact with so long as their intentions are for the most part good. Except for that Shiroi fella, he hates his guts with a passion. Though for the most part a good natured and happy person, Tenshirou can display an incredible amount of cold malice given the right motivation. However, this rarely comes up and Tenshirou doesn't seem to think it's anything really bad as it is part of his personality. Since the departure of his captain and various other factors, for the most part Tenshirou comes off as lazy and violent towards certain individuals, unleashing pain upon people for apparently no reason; though in a sort of bi-polar turn about seems to be very polite and caring, which may confuse those who've seen these extremes of his personality. His eyes and hair antennae usually reflect his emotional state to an almost comedic effect and he appears deadpan in most of his reactions to the strange and surprising. During battle he's best seen as a verbal and strategic tactician as well as a strong voice of the Gotei's side of policies. Should someone say to the contrary and try to waver his faith, he merely replies, "I'm too dumb to understand all the politics, so let's just get this over with." He seems to take everything in stride and also finds amusement in the little things in life. He seems to find humor in just about everything, even as a body spontaneously explodes in front of him. It's probably because of his time spent with his former captain that he's like this, but it doesn't seem to hinder any of his previous abilities.
[Physical Structure]:
- Slim and lanky, Tenshirou's physical structure resembles that of a high school athlete, more akin to a track runner than anything else. Although he appears young and not as strong as some of the other shinigami, his body hides a monstrous strength. Even with his young looking appearance, his body has a criss cross of scars that appear to be sword wounds, though these were on his body long before he ever joined the Gotei 13. His hair is a slightly shorter than medium length series of spikes that cascade on top of his head and form his unique hairstyle. His hair is colored in a two tone blue between a basic blue color and cyan. Two hair antennae protrude off the top of his head, connected near the middle or back of his skull that flit about in this direction or that and do any number of strange things when Tenshirou is emotional. His face is slim with maroon eyes that also change color when displaying a particular emotion. His height is an average 180 cm while he weighs somewhere between 50 and 55 kg.
[Style of Clothing]:
- Though he originally wore (and still occasionally wears) the Shinigami shihakushou, Tenshirou has kept the black hakama, however now he wears a high collared, short sleeved black shirt that seems somewhat Chinese in origin. Instead of closing with buttons, buckles and straps line the front of the shirt and keep it closed. Bands around the edge of the sleeves are tightened below the biceps with a white strap on either arm. On the inside of the collar for his shirt, is the embroidered symbol of the August Echelon while his personal kamon (which also happens to be his division kamon) rests just below the collar on his back. He continues wearing the white sash while in this form with his zanpakutou worn at his right side and halfway down his thigh, held by two thin strings along the sash and the saya of his weapon, allowing him to draw on the weapon faster. A similar design set up is set for his second sword, Setsuna, which rests on his left side. Over his shoulders he's usually seen wearing Junichi's Haori which sports a high metal collar that appears to be sewn into the garment, protecting Tenshirou's neck. Over the haori he wears a pure white scarf that usually covers the bottom part of his face, making him appear shinobi like. The scarf itself has a somewhat distorting effect on the vision of those that view it as when Tenshirou moves, the scarf seems to take a life of its own, or stretches beyond it's usual perimeters. Tenshirou is also seen sporting a red wristband around his left wrist with a spade on its face.

[Brief Biography]:
A total unknown; his past is a haze and what he does remember is only from when he actually "woke up". Given the name Tenshirou from a young Shrine girl named Shion in Rukongai, his name is actually made up of various words she put together upon finding him. For the next five years, he lived quite a simple life of wandering through the areas of Rukongai and mapping out his existance with the Shrine girl.
Encouraged to join the academy when she and her family were facing tough times, he enlisted with the simple request that the shrine would be taken care of and all his benefits, like extra pay and most of his salary be placed in the care of Shion. Living a rather meager existance, he's still quite happy with how things are turning out, and waits patiently to graduate, not only to make his make-shift family proud but to do something with himself; perhaps to one day remember everything, no matter how painful or bitter it might be.
Having passed his division exam with no problems, he's been thrown into the First Division, much to his surprise and pleasure.
With many trials before him that include both personal and his professional life, Tenshirou has recently been through a whirlwind of emotion concerning his feelings for Charlette. While oblivious to the things happening around him, his inner struggle is proving to be tedious and perhaps maybe even more hectic than his waking life. Various entities are awakening within him, good and evil unable to be discerned. Currently, the only entity identified can only be referred to as 'the Other Tenshirou'. The only one, whom seems to know what is going on inside of Tenshirou currently, is his zanpakutou Tenjou Inji.
Transferred to the Ninth Division and invited on as a Vice Captain, Tenshirou was originally wary of accepting the offer, however after meeting the captain of the Division, decided to stay. Wrangling his old roommate from the Shinigami Academy, Tenshirou now serves as the gofer between his division and the others. Although it seems somewhat menial, Tenshirou actually finds it quite normal as his hectic life in the First has prepared him for the task of the newly forming Ninth.
Having somehow survived the siege of Seireitai with barely any scratches, Tenshirou has, as of the time of this writing, been heavily involved in the paperwork concerning the reconstruction of Seireitai as his captain was hospitalized for injuries during the siege. Because of the mental and physical stress plaguing him, this weakened condition caused Charlette to take him to earth for some recooperation because as she said, "You been to the hospital? It's a madhouse."
During this episode, at some point Tenshirou "lost control" of himself when a personality claiming to be the body's true self appeared before Charlette. Since the incident, Tenshirou has had no direct contact with Charlette and finds himself feeling guilty that he may have done something wrong as his memory of the incident is currently non-existant.
Recently during the Siege in Hueco Mundo, Tenshirou and Charlette have reconciled as well as Tenshirou realizing his potential to unleash his Bankai. How he actually aquired it remains unknown but it appears to have changed his personality slightly as he's becoming more adapted to 'real life'.
With Junichi Terada's departure as the Ninth Division Captain, Tenshirou has since spent a large amount of time completing various things left behind by Junichi such as retrieving items of high spiritual significance. On earth he's been trained by an unorthedox phantom thief that has since retired. Donning the man's former identity, Tenshirou has successfully captured the item and left a gigai with a mod-soul behind on earth to further gather these items. In this time, Tenshirou has also employed his teacher as well as one of his classmates into this scheme and they keep in contact.
Having finished his captaincy exams (for morals and a practical), Tenshirou hopes to become the Ninth Division Captain, despite previous thoughts of not aiming for any sort of captainship. These newfound feelings seem to stem from his growing personality and his feeling of partial ownership of the Ninth Division. Hopefully, time will tell whether or not he recieves what he desires.
