The name might be boring but, it's literal, so...

Name: Lab Coat
Tier: D
Acquisition: Crafted over years of experimentation to get things just right, finally completed shortly after arriving in Terminus.
Blueprint:
- 15 Dahlitium Volantis

Description: The history of Naevius' many lab coats is a sad and twisted tale, full of love and hate, loss and redemption... and fire. Lots of fire. It started with a need to have his alchemical tools with him at all times, and years went into perfecting the placement of the various tubes and decanters within the folds. Perhaps the biggest problem was that burners are a necessity, and many of his material components are highly flammable. In the end, he had to develop a flame retardant coating to soak the cloth in. It does nothing to protect Naevius himself, of course, but it prevents his lab coat and all his precious tools, reagents, and concoctions from igniting from a spark.

The finalized version appears to be a normal white lab coat from the outside, with Naevius' name sewn to the left breast. There are multiple additional pockets stitched to the outside, but the inside is lined with alchemical alembicant components, reagents, spare vials and flasks, and other necessary tools for mixing potions on a moment's notice.

Ability: Naevius' lab coat, rather than a coat to wear in a laboratory, is a laboratory to be worn as a coat. It allows Naevius to craft with alchemy on the go, adhering to normal crafting limits and material requirements, requiring at least one round per grade of the potion being created. Modifications to existing potions, such as through Naevius' personal feat Dispersion, can be completed in one round. The coat and its contents cannot be destroyed by fire, but Naevius receives no protection from flames while wearing it.

Item: Impulse Drive IV
Rank: B
Type: Unique Blueprint

Acquisition: A invention based off an anomaly once contained by the organization, Antigone drafted the blueprint after carefully reviewing files of the anomaly in question. While unable to fully categorize the anomaly's complete mechanism, he was able to replicate the end-product through enough experimentation.

Description:
A blueprint describing the construction and installation of Impulse Drive IV. The motor itself is a circular attachment that can be added to almost any object created with Terra Regia and must be crafted into a machine created by the Art of Ingeniarius . Of technomagic construction, the device can be affixed with little modification to underlying designs. Likewise, the motor is highly adaptive and can be freely engaged and disengaged from a variety of machines. Limited only by the user’s creativity, the motor can integrate with preexisting machine.

Item Ability:
The Impulse Motor IV attachment can be freely integrated with any preexisting machine in one turn. When installed, the motor functions identically to any standard electric rotar providing a continuous flow of mechanical force. The flexibility of this item improves on even simple objects such as pulleys by eliminating the need for human force to be applied. The motor in this iteration is capable of outputting a maximum amount of 100 horsepower due to the efficient conversion of visae and the quality of the Terra Regia used for construction, even if the size of the motor is relatively small and can be fit on a simple droid.

By paying 250 vigor to activate the current, the motor is capable of operating for 3 turns independently before requiring a single turn to cooldown. The motor can be freely attached and detatched, but can only interact with one machine at a time. Detatching the motor immediately places it on cooldown.

Blueprint:
To craft Impulse Drive IV requires [ TR Requirements Here ] and is installed while crafting a different Ingeniarius Machine on top of the requirements of the associated blueprint.

Approved.

Requires Dahlitium*:
  • TR Lateris x 2
  • TR Volantis x 1
  • *While you can make it with higher grades, if that's what available, there's no real benefit aside from durability.

Princeps Magnus Scalpere

Tier: B

Acquisition: PMs Coming of the Legions: Drawing first blood on Malphas with a basic Auritium sword

Description: Princeps Magnus Scalpre is a 2m long, 3cm thick auritium greatsword with a 50cm handle. The blade itself is nothing striking besides the permanent pattern of black etched into the side of the blade where Malphas' blood stained it. Menacing purple flames flow endlessly along the edge of the sword and where the blood stain sits.

Effect: Mage killer
Aelflead pays 900 vigor and charges for a round.
Next turn Princeps Magnus Scalpre becomes empowered and explodes into violet and black flames, extends to 15m, and gains "Ethereal" for one attack.

If this attack connects with a construct, magical minion(demon/familiar), characters affected by a beneficial spell, magical/enchanted weapon/item, character using magnum or ultimum abilities then the casters/contractors of the (things listed above) that the blade passes through are silenced and suffer a 2tier explosion of violet and black flames on the next round.

*Ethereal: This weapon/item/character cannot be blocked or otherwise halted, cannot interact with matter, nor damage characters or objects.
(Note this attack can not damage or reduce the effectiveness of abilities/minion it makes contact with, and only affects things of a magical nature)

Aelflead can only activate this effect once every 3 turns.

Too much going on here. For comparison, here's another B-tier unique item:

https://www.postterminus.com/xf/index.php?threads/the-crucible-item-submissions.216/page-2#post-2464

You want acquisition and description to be the bulk of your item. The ability should be direct and easy to understand if you have to explain it to another player.

Princeps Magnus Scalpere - "Great Prince Slicer"

[ B-Tier Unique Item ]

[ Blueprints ]
- 15 Auritium Pulveris
- 15 Auritium Volantis

[ Item Description ]
Princeps Magnus Scalpere was originally a standard single-edge auritium greatsword sitting at 140x16x4cm in size. It's meeting with demon king Malphas’ blood stained the edge and large portions of the blade black and warped it, producing a “hooked” tip and wavy uneven edge reminiscent of a flamberge. Strangely the blade’s thickness and width have changed, but not the length. 140x20x5cm

Emerald flames constantly flicker across the blade’s surface where Malphas’ blood made contact.

[ Item Ability ] - "Rancor"
Whenever Princeps Magnus Scalpere is used to strike or parries an enemy magical ability, creature, or spell Aelflead can pay 500 vigor to deal launch a ball of cursed emerald flame from PMS at the caster of the ability.

The fireball travels 10m in a straight line from Aelflead's sword and phases through mundane objects, stopping and damaging the first object with magnitude that it encounters. The emerald flames count as a tier 4 spell.

Aelflead can activate this ability once every 2 turns.

[ Acquisition ]
In the battle of Krevati Evimerias, only one blade cut into the flesh of Malphas, Great Prince of Infernalis, General of Eversor's Legions. This greatsword, coated in the blood of Malphas, continues to burn with a violet flame, powerful, yet only a memory of the daemon lord's final flames upon the mortal plane. Be assured that should Malphas ever walk upon the mortal plane again, the bearer of this sword will be among the first to taste his ire.

In Aelflead's hands, the Malphas’ fury threatens to consume her with the madness of rage. Unwilling to lose her humanity or throw away a sword she paid good exa for, Aelflead seeks a mage familiar with curses to cleanse the blade so she can be done with the affair. Instead, the blade’s flames are refined and she is taught to use them. Now, though Malphas’ fury ignited the blade, the fuel that keeps it lit is Aelflead’s.

Approved as below.

Don't put measurements that aren't relevant! You end up complicating by adding details, and if you don't actually know the measurements, you can create something outrageous.

We don't have a set weight for auritium, so we'll look at steel for this comparison, which weighs roughly 8g per cubic cm.

140cm x 20cm x 5 cm = 14,000 cubic cm
14,000 cubic cm x 8g = 112,000g or 112kg (or 247 lbs)

The supposed 'average' weight for an adult woman 5'3" tall is 104-127lbs (47-58kg). Actual weight of real-world greatswords? 4.5-9lbs (2-4kg).

Want to say how long the blade is? Sure. Just don't try to get over-specific because that invites over-analysis like this.

Please also stop stacking on abilities to phase through things. It's not happening. Adding more caveats (increased cooldown, only usable in specific circumstances, etc) is not going to make it okay. When you create an item or ability, focus on what it can do. Let others worry about how they can or can't stop it.

Changes:
  • Added a base damage increase by one magnitude
  • Increased range to 30m.
  • Reduced cooldown from 2 turns to once-per-turn.
  • Removed restriction to striking/parrying magic.
  • Removed auto-tracking of casters.
  • Removed phasing.

Before you can use the sword as submitted, please write a collab with a player who has a PC with Skilled-tier Enchanting or Alchemy. That player can write with an NPC, as long as their PC is at the proper skill level.

[ Item Description ]
Princeps Magnus Scalpere was originally an unremarkable single-edged auritium greatsword. It's meeting with demon king Malphas’ blood stained the edge and large portions of the blade black and warped it, producing a hooked tip and wavy uneven edge reminiscent of a flamberge, 140cm long and 20cm wide.

Emerald flames constantly flicker across the blade’s surface where Malphas’ blood made contact.

[ Item Ability ] - "Rancor"
The emerald flames that cover the auritium blade are constant, burning targets on contact and increasing the magnitude of attacks with the weapon by one tier. The flames can also be fueled by Aelflead's own malice, her bitter rancor, particularly against those who would use petty tricks or send others to do their fighting for them. Usable once per round, on Aelflead's next block or attack with the sword after paying 500 Vigor, she can unleash the daemonic flames against a target within 30m, coalesced into a ball of emerald flames as wide as the blade is long, at a magnitude of four.

In the battle of Krevati Evimerias, only one blade cut into the flesh of Malphas, Great Prince of Infernalis, General of Eversor's Legions. Name: Occultist's Shade

[B-Tier Unique Item]
Blueprint: Idk if the blueprint will change
- 9 Bigatium Pulveris
- 12 Bigatium Volantis

[Item Description]:
In its natural state, Occultus' Shade is a large and surprisingly lightweight cloak made from an unknown inky material so black it seems to draw in light from a room. It offers very little protection to its wearer, though it seems to be impervious to physical trauma, allowing objects to phase through it rather than be torn. A silver color traces the trim of the garment as well as the large pockets, sleeve openings, and hood. When in its closed around the user completely, and activated there is a faint tinkling noise left behind, like glass bells.

[Item Ability]: Glamour
Occultus' Shade can change the appearance of itself and its wearer to resemble anything its owner can think of; imitating touch and appearances of any object or person chosen. This effect cannot be used to replicate techniques or abilities and it only affects those making direct contact with the cloak. The effect counts as a tier 4 mental attack on anyone not touching the user and is canceled by entirely foreign magical effects on the cloak's wielder, or by the user's choice. The cloak's appearance can be changed 2 turns after the last change or cancellation of the effect and costs 500 vigor upon activation.

[Acquisition]:
Aelflead found this cloak the day she ran away from home, due to the garment's ability to change its shape and size to accommodate any user, the originally huge cloak became small enough for a little girl to fit it, and has grown with her up until now, always managing a perfect fit for her and anything else she happened to pick up along the way.

Not accepting resubs for this, sorry. If you want to boost the effectiveness of the cloak, you can submit that, but up to your highest tier minus one.

At the cost of 500 vigor, Occultus' Shade can apply a "glamour" to its wearer, changing their physical form to seem identical to anything the user can think of. This can be used to appear and sound like a whole other person, empty space, or even a monstrosity. This effect superficial though and contact with the cloak (or its wearer) reveals the true nature of the illusionist to their would be fools, and aggressive actions made while wearing the cloak break the facade entirely and cancel the effect.

Mages and the like can "see" through this effect since the physical illusion does not affect the wearer's visae.
If Glamour is canceled, by will or aggressive action taken by the user, a 3 round cool down is incurred before Occultus' Shade can be activated again. In order to enact a new glamour, any old glamour still in effect must be canceled first.

If this is too strong for C, can I just scrap PMS? I'd really rather have Aelf's cloak squared away instead.

Occultist's Shade

[C-Tier Unique Item]
Blueprint:
-6 Bigatium Pulveris
- 9 Bigatium Volantis

[Item Description]:
In its natural state, Occultus' Shade is a large and surprisingly lightweight cloak made from an unknown inky material so black it seems to draw in light from a room. It offers very little protection to its wearer, though it is resistant to tearing. A silver color traces the trim of the garment as well as the large pockets, sleeve openings, and hood. When closed around the user completely and activated there is a faint tinkling noise left behind, like glass bells.

[Item Ability]:
The cloak's mysterious depths seem to completely consume any wearer, as it adjusts its size by some magical means. By the power of Occultus anyone who gazes in their direction while the hood is on will see a glamour of the wearer's choosing. This illusion affects only the wearer and their belongings, allowing them to look and sound like another person or a creature of approximate size, or even blend into their environment. Such a glamour will not hold up to inspection; a person touching the wearer will feel the actual wearer, regardless of what the glamour shows.

It costs 500 Vigor to activate the cloak's power, and requires a small amount of concentration to maintain the effect. Concentration will be broken by open combat, and may be broken if the wearer is surprised or stressed. After a glamour ends, 3 rounds must pass before a new glamour can be cast. A new glamour cannot be cast while another is in effect.

[Acquisition]:
Aelflead found this cloak the day she ran away from home, and thanks to the garment's strange shape shifting properties, the originally huge cloak became small enough for a little girl to fit it, and has grown with her since then, always managing a perfect fit for her and anything else she's happened to pick up along the way. After the Black Portal and the ordeals that followed, she sought out an enchanter to strengthen its curious magic.

You can't scrap it -- to my knowledge you never wrote the bits to actually get the upgrades. Even if you had, you could just not carry it. The two item limit is for carrying, not owning.
You do need an enchanter to work on the cloak to upgrade it, at the material cost listed (slightly less than you expected).

Change notes: it's not impervious to damage. Stop that.
Brought back some of the original flavor text.
Removed some of the awkward drawbacks. I've said before: submit what your ability/item/release does. Let other people worry about how to counter it. If you need to build a counter into your submission, it's already flawed.
On the same note, probably 90% of the player base (and 30-50% of the population in any given city) is going to have at least some magic, so letting mages see through the item would quickly make it useless.
The effect is otherwise mostly as you intended it, but I did clarify that a creature (or monstrosity) glamour would need to be approximately the same size. No pretending to be a dragon.
The glamour won't break if someone touches the wearer, but they will be able to feel the actual wearer underneath. If they put two and two together, they will know it's an illusion, but that doesn't mean the illusion goes away.
The glamour will break if you enter combat. Just doing anything aggressive won't automatically break it, as long as you think you can maintain concentration after doing it (little things: you could slap a man who got too 'friendly' with your disguise in order to stay in character, but if you were to choke-slam him, the jig is up)

As a note, this effect is strong for C, but I don't think you'd really get much out of upgrading it to a B. As a C-tier item, its effect is considered magnitude 2, so effects which dispel illusions up to magnitude 2 would work on it. As a B-tier item, its magnitude would be 3, but it wouldn't really gain other effects (the next 'level' of illusion stuff would probably be A tier). Not a huge increase.

Name: Tome of Universal Formula

Tier: D

Acquisition: Over the course of a long hours of study Vita has unlocked a deeper understanding of the formulas that the Vis used to construct the world. With precise calculations he has been able to infuse and impart a deeper more efficient enchanting process into this tome.

Description: The tome is the size of a standard text book and carries a hefty weight to it. Simple white leather wraps the binding and its pages which are thin like scrita. The edges of the book are tipped with gold and a black matrix of enchanting formula and arcane symbols adorn its cover and backing. The book itself looks a little processed as if created by a novice with some knowledge. It will not burn or deteriorate due to time or water damage. It should not be used as a weapon physically or a shield.

Effect: The Tome of Universal Formula is designed to allow spells to be enchanted onto its pages, while serving as a catalyst for all five schools of the Vis. The Tome begins with three charges.

Vita may only enchant Basic spells into the Tome, from schools in which he has at least a Novice’s understanding. Up to 3 Novice-level spells can be enchanted onto the pages at one time. Once per round, Vita may cast a spell from the Tome, bypassing verbal or somatic components; this consumes one charge per level of the spell, instead of the caster’s Vigor.

Due to the Tome acting as a catalyst, all spells cast with it, even those not enchanted on its pages, have their magnitude increased by 1. The enchanted spells may be further amplified by expending 1 unit of Dahlitium pulveris, as though cast traditionally.

Spells:
-THE SCHOOL OF AQUILA
Deflector
Aviate
-THE SCHOOL OF CASTUS
Mend

Approved, minus the lines about being immune to burning or water damage, with the following blueprint:

12 Dahlitium Pulveris
3 Dahlitium Volantis

All items can potentially be damaged or destroyed. They can also be repaired or remade. You should never include text that amounts to "my item is untouchable."
