Before anything else, know that dual wielding zanpakutou's are not acceptable. Every character has one, and one is enough.

For information on actual review and acceptance, please see this thread from the zanpakutou staff:

General Kai Information
or "What in the heck are you talking about?"

Shi Kai = When the people in the Bleach universe say a command and then the name of the sword, followed by a transformation. Renji's Shi Kai is Zabimaru, the spiky-whip sword. RPers can have up to 3 abilities/forms.

Ban Kai = The even higher up power up where the people say "Ban Kai" followed by an even longer name than originally. This is usually a monstrously huge weapon that is capable of mass destruction. Renji's Ban Kai would be Hihou Zabimaru, the giant snake bone sword.

Shinno Ban Kai = The truest form of the zanpakutou. The only one who has shown us this where Bleach is would be Byakuya...his "Shinno" Ban Kai is "Senkei Senbonzakura Kageyoshi", the one with the ring of white swords.

Kyoshou Ban Kai = A final compression of all the Shinigami's spiritual pressure into the last form of a zanpakutou. Once again, Byakuya is the only one to have shown anything at this level, and his is the "Senbonzakura Kageyoshi Shuuhei Hakuteiken", ie his last attack in the fight with Ichigo.

Compressed Ban Kai = Our equivalent to the Bankai in the manga, which are always 1 Form, 1 Attack, and 1 Ability. All three of the previous forms are condensed into a single, high-powered release that is the definitive of a Zanpakutou Master's Strength.

Markers for Acquiring and How Long a Bankai Lasts
Connection section copied from stats thread

Connection - Connection is the bond between a Shinigami and it's zanpakutou. It also acts as a marker for new levels in power. When your Connection hits the following numbers, you write a chapter where you obtain the technique and bingo, you have it.

Shi Kai (Initial Release) - 1,000
Zanpakutou Manifestation - 9,000
Ban Kai (Ban Release) - 10,000
Shinno Ban Kai (True Ban Release) - 20,000
Kyoshou Ban Kai (Master Ban Release) - 30,000
Compressed Ban Kai - 30,000

When a Shinigami hits those numbers in Connection, they can obtain that level of release. After Kyoshou/Compressed Ban Kai, the Connection stat's usage changes.

It is used as a measuring stick for how well and how long a Shinigami can maintain any of their Bankai forms.

Starting at 10,000 Connection, a Shinigami can hold Bankai for 5 RPG turns before it disintegrates, and the ability's strength is only 65% of its full potential. Every 2,000 Connection after that increases the Bankai's lifespan by 1 RPG turn and the strength by 5%. When the strength has hit 100%, it can still continue to grow, except the interval becomes 4,000 Connection for every 5%. The number of turns always increases by 1 per 2,000 Connection.

Starting at 20,000 Connection, a Shinigami can hold Shinno Bankai for 4 RPG turns before it ceases to exist, and the ability's strength is only 60% of its full potential. Every 2,000 Connection after that increases the Shinno Bankai's lifespan by 1 turn and the strength by 10%. When the strength has hit 100%, it can still continue to grow, except the interval becomes 6,000 Connection for every 10%. The number of turns always increases by 1 per 2,000 Connection.

Starting at 30,000 Connection, a Shinigami can hold Kyoshou Bankai for a different amount of turns depending on the nature of the Kyoshou.

If the Kyoshou is an Attack Kyoshou, it requires usage immediately following the release. The amount of turns shouldn't be relevant, since it's just one attack.

If the Kyoshou is a State Kyoshou, it can last 3 RPG turns before it blows up in their faces, and the ability's strength is only 55% of its full potential. Every 6,000 Connection after that increases the Kyoshou Bankai's lifespan by 1 turn and the strength by 15%. When the strength has hit 100%, it can still continue to grow, except the interval becomes 12,000 Connection for every 10%. The number of turns always increases by 1 per 6,000 Connection.

Starting at 30,000 Connection, a Shinigami can hold Compressed Bankai for 3 RPG turns before it ceases to exist, and the ability's strength is only 10% of its full potential. Every 5,000 Connection after that increases the Compressed Bankai's lifespan by 1 turn and the strength by 10%. When the strength has hit 100% at 75,000 Connection, it can still continue to grow, except the interval becomes 5,000 Connection for every 5%. This is extremely important, since this figure will be the major factor in determining who will have the upper hand in battles between two Compressed Bankai users. The number of turns always increases by 1 per 5,000 Connection.

Shikai Information

Note: Shikai gives a character 10% bonus to reiatsu automatically while activated. One doesn't have to choose this, it is an inherent bonus.

9

It's the magic number for your zanpakutou's limits in Shi Kai. At most, a Zanpakutou can have:

3 Forms - Ex. Zabimaru, Zangetsu, Sougyo no Kotowari. Basically, the change in the shape of your zanpakutou only. Sometimes, a Shi Kai is nothing but a form change (Ichimaru's Shinsou, Byakuya's Senbonzakura).

3 Abilities - Ex. Getsugatenshou, Higa Zekkou, Nigeki Kessatsu. Basically, the attack or technique your zanpakutou uses. A Shi Kai can still change the shape of your zanpakutou, but the ability is different, seperate from this.

All in all, you can have 9 "traits" so to speak of your zanpakutou. However, when the more forms/abilities you use, the more potential power you use.

In short, if you have 9 "traits", the potential power you could put into a form or an ability is divided, so each form/ability has 1/9 the potential power.

In laymen's terms, that means one form/ability would have to be very weak and linear because it's only using 1/9th of what it could.

Back on the other end, if you have 1 form and 1 ability, that form/ability can be very strong and versatile, since you are using much more of the potential energy.

Multiformed/Multiability Zanpakutou = Lots of versatility overall, less power in each form/ability.

Multiformed/Single Ability
Single Formed/Multiability = A balanced area, where the forms/abilities aren't strong or weak.

Single Formed/Single Ability = Not as much versatility, but lots of power in the form/ability.

A form or ability is awarded for every 1,000 Connection. So your initial Shi Kai will either be a form or an ability, then at 1,000 you can add another form or ability, and so on and so forth until Ban Kai. Or...you could just not add anything. Follow the development you want.

Stat boosts possible for Zanpakutou in shikai:

The following is a list of limitations for stat boosts, if you so choose to use an ability of your zanpakutou on one.

Stat Boost Range Possible.

Shikai
1/1 = 40% max boost, can be divided among stats
1/2 = 30% max boost, can be divided among stats
1/3 = 20% max boost, can be divided among stats
~ Only one stat boost ability per form
~ If there are more than 3 abilities in the entire shikai, then no stat boosts are allowed.

Did Ikkaku's Shi Kai cuont as two separate form changes, or a form change and an ability. He says two separate unsealing...words, so I was just wondering what that was all about.

WindÁƒ ºril said:
No, the entire thing is a form change. When he yells "Split Hoozikumaru!" it's just for effect. An "ability" is like a property change or a technique, not seeing the form change. o_O

bittman said:
Ok if you say no weilding two zanpaktou, can we still have a Shikai that has two swords, yet we use each sword seperately...(think multiability through two mean or something...)

WindÁƒ ºril said:
Nope. It's flat out no two zanpaku swords, even when the abilities are different.

Bankai Information

There are two possible methods of your zanpaku's growth through the Bankai forms. There is the 1 Form-1 Ability-1 Attack method, and the Shikai Increase Method, which both merge in Shinno. Also, Kyoshou Bankai has two different types.

Ban Kai: Generally, Ban Kai is a form of release when the Shinigami brings the power of the zanpakutou's spirit out onto the real plain as a large manifestation, usually in relation to the zanpakutou spirit's form. When I say large, I mean large.

Note: Bankai gives a character 40% bonus to reiatsu automatically while activated. One doesn't have to choose this, it is an inherent bonus.

1 Form-1 Ability-1 Attack - There is only 1 form in all Bankai. As for the ability and the attack, the ability can be practically anything you want. This is just like Shikai abilities: you get to come up with an original ability, whether it be a defensive, offensive, or support based ability. However...the 1 attack is just that...1 attack. Something purely offensive. It can be physical, or spiritual pressure based. They can't be used too frequently because they're rather taxing.

Shikai Increase - In the instance that the Bankai is simply an extra powered Shikai Ability/Abilities (That's right...more than one ability here), then the Bankai can have those abilities on a more powerful scale. HOWEVER...the staff will judge appropriately the scale off in power. Meaning? That since you chose this method, the abilities won't be anywhere near as strong as the 1 form-1 ability-1 attack method.

Ex. Ichigo's "TensaZangetsu"///Byakuya's "Senbonzakura Kageyoshi"///Renji's "HihouZabimaru"

Stat Boost possible in Bankai:

1/1/1 = 60% max boost to one stat
70% max boost divided among two stats (35% to each of two stats)
80% max boost divided among three stats (28% to each of three stats)
80% max boost divided among four stats (20% to each of four stats)
NOTE: These boosts are one can choose to have as their 1 ability in addition to the reiatsu (spiritual pressure) boost that one receives normally, however these are always subject to be lowered by the zanpakutou staff depending on the specific kai from person to person.

Shinno Ban Kai: The "true" form of your zanpakutou in Ban Kai. The large form that your zanpakutou was previously in takes a new shape, changing the properties of your Ban Kai in the process, in order to give you a new ability and new traits. This form is "Shinno Ban Kai", and is reserved for only some of the most dire circumstances (usually duels).

Note: Shinno Bankai gives a character 60% bonus to reiatsu automatically while activated. One doesn't have to choose this, it is an inherent bonus.

1 Form-1 Ability-1 Attack - This still retains the 1 form-1 ability-1 attack, although in some cases, Shinno may even be just 1 form where the form becomes the ability.

Shikai Increase - If you have been following this method, you cannot bring multiple abilities into another increase in strength. You must select a single ability from the Bankai and choose to raise that instead. As such, the Shikai Increase method merges into the "1 Form-1 Ability-1 Attack" method here, in Shinno.

Ex. Byakuya's Senkei Senbonzakura Kageyoshi

Stat Boost Possible in Shinno:

70% max boost to one stat
80% max boost divided among two stats (40% to each of two stats)
90% max boost divided among three stats (30% to each of three stats)
90% max boost divided among four stats (22% to each of four stats)
NOTE: These boosts are one can choose to have as their 1 ability in addition to the reiatsu (spiritual pressure) boost that one receives normally, however these are always subject to be lowered by the zanpakutou staff depending on the specific kai from person to person.

Kyoshou Ban Kai: All of the Shinigami's spiritual pressure compressed many times over, until the zanpakutou changes into a final, short lived form. This form exists only to either live out the final attack of the Shinigami in an explosive display of energy, or sustain a short-lived, high-powered state that can be fought in. After using the Kyoshou Ban Kai, the Shinigami will not be able to continue fighting.

Note: Kyoshou Bankai gives a character 80% bonus to reiatsu automatically while activated. One doesn't have to choose this, it is an inherent bonus.

Attack Kyoshou - This Kyoshou lasts momentarily, and is a single, final attack that uses all of the Shinigami's remaining energy in one last assault. The form changes once again, into a form that best suits or reflects the Shinno ability's last increase in strength.

State Kyoshou - A high powered state is achieved, where the Shinno's ability increases and heightened strength is attained. Due to the nature of this method, the ability's strength does not increase as drastically as in the Attack Kyoshou.

Ex. Byakuya's Senbonzakura Kageyoshi Shuuhei Hakuteiken

Stat Boost Possible in Kyoushou:

80% max boost to one stat
90% max boost divided among two stats (45% to each of two stats)
100% max boost divided among three stats (33.3% to each of three stats)
100% max boost divided among four stats (25% to each of four stats)
NOTE: These boosts are one can choose to have as their 1 ability in addition to the reiatsu (spiritual pressure) boost that one receives normally, however these are always subject to be lowered by the zanpakutou staff depending on the specific kai from person to person.

Note:The three forms of bankai above are the best interpretation we have in this RPG right now for bankai to be something to shoot for but not be completely unattainable. The following bankai is true to the manga and will only be attained by those who make it to 30,000 connection.

Compressed Ban Kai: This is a special form attainable at Kyoshou, where the Ban Kai, the Shinno Ban Kai, and the Kyoshou Ban Kai are merged into a single Compressed Ban Kai. It is essentially any of the three previous Kais with added effects and a higher multiplier in spiritual pressure. Compressed Ban Kai follow the rules of "1 Form-1 Ability" from the original Ban Kai, and thus, all Compressed Ban Kai use what is generally the Kyoshou's form and ability (enhanced).

Note: Compressed Bankai gives a character 100% bonus to reiatsu automatically while activated. One doesn't have to choose this, it is an inherent bonus.

Ex. All Manga Users of Ban Kai

Compressed Ban Kai Attacks:

When a Shinigami has achieved the pinnacle of their growth in the Compressed Bankai, their Zanjutsu and Hakuda will grant them a "Ban Kai Attack Slot" for every 10,000 in the respective category. Thus, if someone wields a Zan-based zanpaku, and has 11,000 Zan, they will have two Ban Kai Attack Slots available to them, and vice versa for Hak. The strength of the said Ban Kai Attack is based on the user's Spiritual Pressure. Gaining Compressed Ban Kai automatically rewards the Shinigami with a free Attack Slot.

Bankai Attacks can be divided into two different categories:

  • Allotted Attacks -- These are based on a set value of spiritual pressure that will be consumed each time they are used. This means that the attack will never increase in power (a drawback a player can reprimand by placing the initial cost at a high amount of spiritual pressure), but will gain more potential "shots" to be used in battle as the player grows in strength.

  • Ratio Attacks -- These are based on a set percentage of spiritual pressure that will be consumed each time they are used. This means that the attack will increase in power as the player grows stronger, but will never gain any more potential "shots" than the initial slots of ammunition. Consequently, a user could potentially possess an attack that uses 100% of their spiritual pressure in a single volley, or one that uses 25% each time. These attacks always have to name a specific number of "shots" they can use. It is the consequence paid for possessing an attack that grows in strength with the player.

Both categories require that the player specify the following:

*The amount of SP required to use (and consequently, the amount of Vitality that will be taken per blast) for each "shot" ///The percent of SP that will be used per "shot" (and consequently, the amount of Vitality that will be taken per blast), and the number of shots available for use.
*The cost-damage ratio is done the same way as the Zangeki are, except with an increase in the amount of Zan/Hak added. The cost uses whatever figure you are using for the S.P., but the potential damage is whatever figure you are using for the S.P. cost plus 1/3rd of the total of your Zan/Hak stat.

Stat boost possible in compressed:

100% max boost to one stat
110% max boost divided among two stats (55% to each of two stats)
120% max boost divided among three stats (40% to each of three stats)
120% max boost divided among four stats (30% to each of four stats)
NOTE: These boosts are one can choose to have as their 1 ability in addition to the reiatsu (spiritual pressure) boost that one receives normally, however these are always subject to be lowered by the zanpakutou staff depending on the specific kai from person to person.

NOTE: Due to the power of these babies, the approval of a compressed ban kai must be given the ok by all members of the zanpakutou staff and wind.
