Evergloam as Ren Tegishahara Dysney as Adele Pierce
5,492 words total
Vampires don’t belong in tournaments. Ren wasn’t the exception, she needed to stay away from the fighting side of tournaments and instead just take comfort in helping her friends on the sidelines with cheers. And why didn’t she want to fight anymore? Simple. This tournament sucked for her.
In the tournament, it costed her twice. Twice. Her left arm in her fight against Hikaru took a Big Bang fully powered on. And guess what won? The Big Bang. But it was necessary, she figured, to end the fight. Then against Adele. Adele, her closest and sweetest friend. In the heat of the moment between their blade and fist interactions, the neko cut clean through Ren’s hand right until she stopped her blade midway through her palm.
She fought still through that pain, ignoring it completely if possible, though it wasn’t. Her friend managed to knock her out before blood loss did and when the woman woke up, she was in the Fourth. A white sheet was what she laid on, a white blanket on her until her chest. Her right arm was wrapped in bandages, slightly bloody. She let out a groan when she tried wiggling her fingers, the sensation in her hand still gone or numbed.
She rested her head back, letting out a sigh. Beside her, the blade of Kyuketsuki remained, the vampire spirit calling out to her.
“All is okay, darling. Just relax for now. We’ll fight some other time, so don’t fight your natural healing process. Even if that shit will take a while.” The vampire offered a comforting tone, even if the last few words were crude. She let out another sigh, looking at her hand. It’d get better soon. She bore no hate or harsh feelings towards her friend anyhow, knowing full well the risk of how she fought. Swordplay was a common fighting style and going against a swordstress like Adele with your bare hands was difficult to not be hurt by.
The sound of doors opening caused Ren to turn her head to the side to see a Fourth division medic, escorting a familiar figure. “You have a visitor, miss Tegishahara.”
Adele was also done with competing in the Tournament. After having injured two people quite severely because of a lack of self control, the nekogami wanted no more risks. She would gladly fight a stronger opponent any day and have the crap kicked out of her, but the feline Mystic had no wish to seriously injure anyone else. If the Mystic were to fight anyone else, it’d be either her big sister or Toride and only because it would give them a chance to punish her for her dangerous mistakes. The idea of taking a beating was oddly appealing to the nekogami, despite her displeasure with the burns she herself hosted.
Don’t pick a fight just to get hurt. Using others to punish yourself is not the right choice.
Hai, hai, Do-chan. I won’t really do it. The nekogami’s reassurance didn’t help Crescendo’s anxiety at all. The spirit knew full well that should anyone, especially that puff-fro jerk or Adelaide-chan came after Adele looking for retribution, the cat eared girl wouldn’t defend herself. She would take the beating gladly in order to punish herself for hurting Ren. The tiger growled.
When the feline Mystic stepped into Ren’s room she appeared completely unharmed. After the medic left, however, the illusion covering her faded to reveal the bandages covering the neko-Mystic’s cat ears, hands, and neck. Her scalp had only a short layer of dark, thick, curly hair remaining of the black violet tinted locks that had once reached her shoulders. The rest of the young woman was covered by a simple blue kimono with long sleeves. “Hello, Ren-san,” the younger woman’s voice was soft, almost to low to hear. “Gomenasai,” she bowed, not even looking up.
The visitor was Adele, and just that one person made Ren smile. She offered her weak smile to the neko, waving to her with her only good hand. “You shouldn’t apologize, Adele-chan. Everything is all okay.”
She raised her hand, bandaged and torn, to show Adele the cast around it. “At least you can sign your name on it.” She managed to sit up, letting out a hiss of pain when she did. Not only her hand hurt, but every part of her hurt. Burns, cuts and bruises. They all littered her body, from head to toe. Thankfully, Adele’s Shikai however protected her from most of the damage that could’ve been inflicted. Worse burns from the forest being on fire, and shockingly, a Big Bang. Yeah. Hikaru apparently thought it’d be a nice thing to throw a volatile ball of kidou energies at her and Adele.
“And how are you?” she asked, patting the side of her to allow Adele to sit down.
Adele straightened at Ren’s forgiveness although she wasn’t fully reassured. She still felt as if she should do something to pay for what she had done. At the older woman’s offer to sign her cast, the neko winced. She held her hand over Ren’s and used Reiki. Even though the basic technique would hardly help the hakudist’s healing progress, hopefully it could alleviate even some of the pain.
“I’m alright, I suppose. I left the hospital as soon as I could... I don’t really like the Fourth that much. The sounds are painful on a good day.” She looked around, “hopefully the medics won’t notice and make me check back in.” A shrug. “I’m healing.” After a short awkward pause, Adele used her free hand to fish something out of her pocket. It was a pink paper crane. The feline Mystic set the small piece of origami on Ren’s lap, “I made this for you, Ole-san taught me how to fold paper cranes.”
Though she didn’t accept the raven haired shinigami’s offer for a seat, the catlike soul reaper inched closer, still hesitant to be near Ren. Suppose she accidentally injured the woman again? What if Ren was secretly scared of her? Did the older woman’s blade still hate her? Despite her best efforts, the worry and guilt was starting to show on Adele’s face, turning her eyes a darker shade of silver.
Ren looked into the guilty eyes of Adele, a frown fixing across her features. She was scared. Was it because of the fight?
The vampire soul raised her hand - the good one of course - and gently rubbed the neko’s head. Her touch was gentle and soothing, like water. She looked deep into the guilt ridden girl’s eyes, smiling a soft smile. “Cheer up, Adele-chan. I can practically smell your dislike of yourself.” She raised her other hand, cast and all, and reached over to the side and grabbed a small pen. She handed it to the neko, a smile fitting her features.
“C’mon. Maybe signing my cast will make you feel better. You can write whatever.” She wanted to cheer up Adele, in any way possible. If the nekogami would do anything to protect Ren and make her happy, it was only right for Ren to do the same.
Adele wanted to hold onto the guilt; she really did. It was so hard to stay guilty with someone rubbing her head, her eyes softened and turned a light honey gold and a light purr escaped her lips. The sound didn’t last long- cut off by a short gasp. A look of embarrassment crossed her face at the noise. “Okay,” she took the pen and let it levitate off of her palm. With gentleness only achievable through the use of Soshi, the nekogami wrote ‘Get well, Ren <3’ before capping the pen and allowing it to settle in the older woman’s lap.
Having drawn just a little closer, the younger Mystic realized what she was doing and froze. How could she let Ren forgive her so easily? How could Adele go unpunished for her reckless actions? For the pain she’d caused her comrade. The golden eyes started to fade towards silver. They settled on Ren’s friendly face and the golden hues began to become more prevalent.
Stop moping before you make Ren-chan sad! Crescendo nipped her wielder. Honestly, she couldn’t understand the feline woman’s determination to suffer. If Ren-chan said they were forgiven, they were forgiven. The feline Mystic blushed and smiled sheepishly, “Sorry Ren-chan, I’m not being very good company if I’m sulking, am I?” She could beat herself up later. Crescendo hid her face under her paws as she could not face palm. Adele still didn’t get it.
Ren smiled, chuckling quietly in pained breaths as she moved about. Sitting still was something she detested so much.
“Well, you’re upset. I understand if you are, but you have no reason to be, Adele-chan. I forgive you for everything, I promise. It’s not your fault for anything, I said we should’ve given our all. I didn’t expect you to be that strong though.” She looked into the ever changing colourful eyes of Adele, a genuine smile on her features. She reached over, a slight hiss of pain coming from her as she took Adele’s hand in her own. When she held Adele’s hand, she placed it in her useless one, smiling even more.
“No need to beat yourself up, Adele-chan. Even Kyuketsuki forgives you for everything.”
“I do not.”
‘Be quiet.’
“How?” The question was simple. One word that encompassed everything. How could the older woman still smile at her and comfort her even when she was in pain. Holding the injured hand as gently as possible, the nekogami looked at her friend in complete and utter confusion. What in the world had possessed Ren to forgive her? The golden hue of her eyes gave way to silver.
Forgiveness hurt. It was hard to give, receive, and accept. Right now, Adele felt as if her friend’s forgiveness was twisting her heart. She didn’t know what to do. To accept the forgiveness would be horrible, as if admitting that injuring Ren was okay (it was NOT) but to reject would be equally wrong, how could she say no to such a precious thing as forgiveness from a friend?
You can accept her kindness, kit. You’ll only hurt her more if you don’t.
Can I really?
“You’re my closest friend, Adele. You’ve helped me become a part of the Mystics, you comforted me every time I have had a problem or issue in the past. You’re the sweet young girl I met on my first day in the Tenth, even now. I don’t hate you for hurting me,” she explained, her thumb on her injured hand gently rubbing Adele’s hand. “I don’t hate you, dislike you or even feel bad for it. You shouldn’t pity yourself or feel ashamed for it, Adele-chan.”
The vampire sat up even more, sitting at a ninety degree angle now. She used Soshi to manipulate a flower gifted to her by Hikaru to levitate it in the multicolour eyed girl’s hair. It was a gesture similar to when Adele and Ren first met, and Ren followed it with a smile.
“A true friendship won’t end because of some bumps in the road. It persists and continues through every obstacle, even if it comes through in the form of a sword in the hand,” she joked, though the humour felt dark. “Whether you hurt me in an emotional, physical or mental way, I won’t ever hate you. I’ll never bear harsh feelings towards you, despite anything that says otherwise.”
She held Adele’s hand tighter in her usable hand, casting her azure gaze into Adele’s forever changing eyes.
The silver of her eyes brightened and gave way to a light, tawny color. The ever-changing orbs began to water and some tears escaped just before the younger Mystic hugged the elder gently as possible, even infusing the hug with Reiki in hopes of not disturbing Ren’s injuries. “Thank you,” was all she could say to that. The entirety of Adele’s spiritual pressure wrapped itself around the two of them in an embrace of sorts.
The ravenette’s gesture with the flower was not lost on the feline shinigami. She remembered the day she’d been out for a walk and a new person greeted her and Midnight. Ren was indeed a very good friend. It comforted the nekogami to know this woman would never hate her. In the same moment, it made her want to protect this person so much more than her natural protectiveness required. Whether the usually masked Mystic knew it or not, she’d ensured that Adele would never leave her.
Crescendo relaxed within her wielder’s mindscape grateful that her neko-chan was no longer looking to hurt herself. Kit, can you use Taidan a moment? I’d like to say something to Ren-chan...
The ink bottle with a quill wrapped around it just behind Adele’s right human ear glowed, relaying the voice of her sword spirit to her best friend. Ren-chan, thank you so much for helping my kit. It means a lot, the tiger’s deep, yet slightly feminine, melodic voice rumbled through the mental connection, almost like a purr.
At the sudden hug, Ren flinched, though the soothing feeling of Reiki helped put her wounds at peace. She embraced Adele as gently as she could, the hug and affection feeling so tender and soft that it felt like a ghost holding her. A smile was followed by her tears, few and far between, brought on by her friend. She cared so much for Ren and she only hoped she could return the favour in any way possible.
Suddenly, the dormant ebony marking of a rose brightened with life, a new voice coming to greet her. Was it the zanpakutou that played such a melodious song in their fight? She smiled wider, until her cheeks began to hurt with the smile.
‘I’d do anything for her, just as she would for me. Cheering her up is just a small thing that any friend would do.’
Relaxing, Adele rested her cheek on Ren’s shoulder. Her cat ears relaxed and turned slightly so that they were angled rather than pointing directly backwards. The catlike young woman could have stayed with her friend like that forever. The reassuring sound of the older woman’s breathing, heartbeat, and spiritual pressure reminded her with each beat that Ren was okay and would get better. That she was right here and didn’t hate her.
Her Taidan continued to glow to allow Crescendo to speak. It’s no small thing. You’ve given koneko-chan peace. She hasn’t been this relaxed since the fight in the rainforest. Especially not after that idiot Toride- the transmission was cut short. There was no need for the mood to be ruined by mentions of a certain puffy haired shinigami’s harshness.
Let it be, Do-chan. Can’t we please just relax? The spirit relented, but only because for the first time in days, her wielder was at harmony with herself.
Her body relaxed, the pain of moving slowly going away. Everything Adele did, everything Ren did, it all felt so relaxing at that moment. Even the Siberian tiger’s voice was calming until the mentioning of Satoru. Azure eyes held a sort of curiosity and wonder as she looked at the neko.
“What happened with Satoru-san?” she asked, reaching ever so gently to rub the Mystic’s back, hoping to ease the woman’s pain of her own burns and such.
The younger Mystic stiffened slightly at Ren's touch, but relaxed. The bandages protected her healing skin from too much irritation. "It's.... Toride-san wasn't very happy with the outcome of our fight. He appeared as I was carrying you and Hikaru-kun to the Senkaimon to reach the Fourth. He... he scolded me and Hikaru quite vigorously. But he did open a Senkaimon for us." That was the sugar coated version of events. Satoru had arrived in a storm and yelled at her and Hikaru, making clear how disappointed in them he was. Adele was only glad her apprentice had been unconscious and thus spared the Fourth Seat's ire.
I'll say. Scolding is a polite way of saying he verbally poured salt on your wounds in self righteous, hypocritical anger. If that boy really thought the injury was taking the battle too far he should have stopped it himself rather than letting things progress. He completely ignored the fact that you tried to heal Ren-chan and end the fight quickly once you saw your mistake.
"Crescendo-chan is angry with him for yelling at me." The tiger in her mind growled and the nekogami's eyes flashed violet for the briefest of moments.
The vampire frowned at the mentioning of Satoru berating his apprentices, feeling as if the words he spoke were caused by her. He chided them about not following the role of a teacher, and how the nekogami didn’t teach but instead hurt Ren. If Satoru knew they weren’t teaching or learning on that day, then maybe his words wouldn’t have been so cruel. It was no lesson to learn for Ren or Hikaru outside of attempting to work together against a stronger opponent.
In that sense, Adele taught them well due to giving her all just like any true opponent would. Ren did as well, even if the lack of Hikaru’s help didn’t... well, help.
With a groan, she began to relax, the sitting position she was in beginning to hurt. She leaned her head against her pillow, but kept her azure eyes on her friend. “He was just upset because we got hurt. Not everything can be an excuse to train or learn some valuable lesson. All I learned was not to block a sword with my hand!” She lightly laughed, but stopped after a moment. To her, that was rather important, but she couldn’t spend her days dodging every blade and just running away from every cutting edge.
“He’s probably stressed too. Don’t take Satoru-san’s words to heart, Adele-chan.”
“I suppose so. He was right though.” The now short haired young woman replied, hazel eyes settling on Ren’s face. “You’re right, too. I challenged you not as a teacher, but as a rival, curious to see your combat skills. Before then, I didn’t know the slightest thing about your fighting style.” The burnt shinigami sighed. “I was hoping that you and Hikaru-kun would work together to defeat me. I caged him at the start to see if you would free him and attack me with his help or if he’d break out and assist you or if you’d leave him there and challenge me on your own. I came at you with my sword to learn the extent of your hand to hand skills, though I hadn’t expected you to try to block an electrified sword with your bare hands.”
A bit of a chuckle escaped her lips, “Never the less I learned. Letting unexpected things distract you isn’t ever a good thing. I’m sure my hair will grow back from that particular lesson though.” A shrug followed as the nekogami made light of her own injuries. “We’ll have to train together more, ne? If we know each other better we’ll probably run a lower risk of deadly mishaps, ne?”
“But I didn’t want to free him. He’s a big boy, he could’ve done it himself!” she replied with a grin, bringing up the fact that Hikaru could’ve broken the Bakudou rather quickly instead of letting Ren fight Adele one on one. “I didn’t expect your sword to break my Talon Hadou all that easily either, though. If I knew it’d break so quickly, I would’ve dodged or tried to run away from it.”
She looked at her catlike friend and gently petted her shoulder, moving her hand to the neko’s burnt and bandaged head. A little bit of her reiatsu seeped from her hand in the form of Reiki, allowing her to pet her friend without it hurting all that much. “We’ll train as soon as we get better. My hand still needs to get back to one hundred percent and your body overall needs to recover from the burns. I’m sorry about that by the way, Adele-chan.” She faintly recalled the cause of these burns being Adele tanking Soukatsui empowered by her Shikai. It was dangerous, and not all that smart, but that fight wasn't the greatest source of intelligence from start to end.
“Oh but he could’ve made an excellent meat shield,” the nekogami said in mock protest to Ren’s lack of motivation in freeing Hikaru. “I wondered why he didn’t break out on his own. At least you know for future reference that regular Talons aren’t enough to counter a blade. I’ll have to teach you to use that sword of yours, I doubt Kyuketsuki-san appreciates being left unused for a majority of your fighting. If you can at least use it to block sword strikes when you cannot parry with your hand or dodge, that will be enough. It could greatly reduce the amount of damage a sword strike can deal to you.”
Adele relaxed visibly when Ren added Reiki to her touch. The technique was basic, but it relieved some of the sting of her burns. “Your hand will heal, quickly, I hope. The medics are quite skilled. I’m sure they would have healed my burns completely if I had let them.” Stretching a bit, she shifted, sitting semi-curled up on her friend’s hospital bed. “So don’t worry about it, Ren-chan,” the Mystic waved a hand nonchalantly. “I deserved it. I did cut your hand in half first. We’ll probably be chopping each other up and setting fires in no time!” The younger Mystic's tone was light, cheery, and jesting.
Inside of her mind, the vampire queen, Kyuketsuki, simply shrugged her shoulders. To her, being released was good enough. It made her feel more lively and actually part of Ren when she did. And to think, Ren detested the thought, the very idea that Kyuketsuki was her other half.
Ren smiled, wondering how the two could have possibly been so casual with one another. Just a few days ago, they were burning and cutting at each other, now they were nearly cuddling in the hospital. Hospital cuddles were good. Especially for people with useless hands and burnt hair. She continued to rub her friends head, letting her reiatsu ever so gently pulse and seep from her entire body to play a melody for her friend to relax even more to.
“You and Hikaru-kun both want to train me in swordplay. I think I’ll take you up on it, whenever we get out of course. I don’t want to cut people or hurt them, but I guess using my sword to defend would be a nice thing. It’d keep me out of the Fourth for obvious reasons.” She held up her casted arm, smiling.
Adele's cat ears turned towards Ren, pleasured by the light and melodious sound of the raven haired woman's spiritual pressure. The sound was similar to wind chimes. Scooting a little closer, though not consciously, the girl almost purred. Her own grin softened into a relaxed smile at her friend’s expression. It didn’t occur to her that she was practically snuggling in bed with the person who’d set her on fire only a few days ago and the same person she’d injured that same few days prior.
“In that case I’ll train you and Hikaru-kun both in swordplay. Even if you never use your blade offensively, I’d rather you have a way to prevent getting sent here again from being unable to defend against them. Maybe we can work on our Shikai together. I’m certain there’s ways for us to learn to work together instead of against each other. Perhaps we’re better suited for slicing up, electrocuting, and deep frying other people instead of each other.” The nekogami thought a moment. “Hey, you can absorb reiatsu from other people, right?”
The vampire shinigami smiled, nodding her head. “Kyuketsuki’s ability is to absorb the life from people,” she began to explain, reaching over with a hiss of pain to grab her wakizashi, placing it on her lap. “Kyuketsuki actually means ‘vampire.’ Most of her abilities or attacks are based on the lore of a vampire in one way or another. She has her vampiric touch,” she placed a hand on her friend, making an odd sound effect that sounded rather comical, “where she absorbs your reiatsu.”
“Then she has the strength of vampirekind, which allows me to hit someone a lot harder than I usually do. And then there’s the bite of a vampire, which she said strengthens my kidou. I think it only does it to Hadou, though.” She unsheathed her blade, the vampire within casting a glance through the blade at her wielder. She was glad that Ren knew of her abilities, even how they could be used. Now she just needed to know when and how to use them to their most powerful extents.
“I didn’t see that much of Crescendo-san. She uses a shield as an ability is all I saw. Is there anything else?” she asked, remembering the faint image of the twin swords and how Adele used them in the same way a violinist would. It was a unique zanpakutou, and it honestly felt like it belonged to only Adele.
“That’s a rather useful set of abilities. Perhaps we can work out a way when fighting together for me to let you absorb some of my spiritual pressure without it being so uncomfortable. I wouldn’t mind giving you some to help with your abilities in cases like that, but it hurts a bit when Kyu-san takes my reiatsu.” The feline Mystic’s eyes turned bright blue with curiosity. All of the possibilities Ren and Kyuketsuki’s abilities opened up were rather tempting to explore. Perhaps this type of experimentation would bring about more good than harm.
“Do-chan does two things, other than giving me an extra blade. The first ability you saw, I like to call it Pachelbel’s Shield after my favorite song to play on the violin. When I play Pachelbel’s Canon in D or any other classical piece really on my zanpaktou, it creates a shield of reiatsu that I can use to repel foreign spiritual energy. That’s how I kept Hikaru’s Big Bang from hitting us. I wouldn’t let it through the shield. But I can choose to let reiatsu through the shield if I want to, like when your Demon Fist went right through it. I haven’t tested whether I can keep reiatsu contained in it yet.” Adele pulled out her own blade setting it in her lap. The oddly crafted sword sat dormant.
Fingering the small heart shaped trinket attached to the pommel by a bit of chain, she continued. “The other thing Do-chan lets me do is control the speed at which someone’s reiatsu moves. If I play the right tune, I can make someone’s spiritual pressure move really slow. The only thing I know that it does is it makes the world look like everything’s happening in slow motion. I’m not sure if it would affect the rate at which kidou can be cast, though.”
Ren smiled wide at the mentioning of finding out a way to absorb reiatsu less painfully. The vampire queen in her blade always chose to absorb reiatsu painfully and such due to her sadistic nature and the enjoyment of inflicting a little more damage than she needed. Ren had no problem with it usually, but getting it to stop was something Adele would need to speak to Kyuketsuki about.
“The shield is useful. I didn’t expect it to let me through when I tried to attack you. To be honest, I expected to crack it and let Hikaru do the rest. But obviously, that didn’t work.” She sheathed her wakizashi, placing it back to the side of the bed and relaxing once again. “When we’re all better, we can train in swordplay and how to work our Shikai abilities to their fullest. It should be fun.” she smiled, azure eyes closing.
With a quiet groan, she opened them again. “I hate hospitals.”
“I don’t blame you, I’m not too fond of them either,” Adele agreed, resheathing her own blade at her left hip. “If I could get you out of here... well that probably wouldn’t be the brightest idea, since your hand still needs healing-” The Mystic froze, ears perking up. Her image flickered and her Koutaizumai cloaked her, making her hair appear as it had before getting burnt off and hiding the bandages over her burns. She looked as if she’d never fought.
The door opened to reveal a medic. “Hello, Tegishahara-san, Pierce-san. If you don’t mind, it’s Tegishahara-san’s scheduled healing time.”
“Oh, of course.” The nekogami gently set her friend’s injured hand down and hopped out of the hospital bed, standing quietly off to the side. She watched him with a straight face, though inwardly she was amused. She’d seen this man before, if she recalled correctly, he had been the same doctor to check on her after her fight with Haresuno. He’d scolded Satoru. The thought almost made her giggle.
The medic nodded quietly to the visitor, thankful for somebody polite for once and approached Ren’s bedside. Without any ado or preamble, he cast healing Chiyudo on his patient’s hand, swiping at his dark hair which rested on his pale forehead. After a few moments, he nodded to himself. “Your hand is completely reconnected, but you really shouldn’t try to use it yet. In a few days after letting it heal more on its own, we will need to perform one last healing. It’s best if you just spend that time here. Have a good day,” and with that, he turned on his heel and left.
“Well then.” Adele waited until she was pretty sure the doctor was out of earshot. “Are you going to take his advice and stay here, or are you going home to recuperate until you have to come back?”
The Mystic let out a peaceful sigh when the healing properties of Chiyudou began to reconnect the nerves and muscle tissue in her hand, every little part of her hand healing fully. The scar remained, and it still felt a little odd moving it again, but she enjoyed knowing her hand was on its way to healing.
When the medic turned away, she sat up with a slightly pained breath. ‘And he couldn’t heal my other wounds. How rude.’
Adele offered her the choice of going back to the Tenth instead of staying in the Fourth and the vampire’s face lightened up like Christmas eve. “Of course I want to go back home! I think we could even start training, just to show that medic that I don’t need to come back here.” Of course the last part was a joke, though she did want to start training as soon as possible. Maybe not so intensely as Adele and Ren could’ve done at their full strength.
“You should get some healing done as well, Adele-chan. Maybe when I come back here, you should come with me. Does that sound fine?”
“Well if you want to go home, I can help with that,” a mischievous smile crossed her lips. A moment later, she assumed the form of the nurse who’d escorted her in. “No one will realize you’re escaping until we’re already home.” Approaching Ren”dside she scooped the older woman up bridal style, careful not to jostle her newly healed hand. “I’ll come back with you, I was going to let my burns heal naturally, but I’m eager to train again.”
She walked out of the room and then dropped the illusion after a thought. Who was going to stop her? She was Adele Pierce, Tenth Seat of the Mystics of the Divine and a noble woman of House Pierce of Nearer Rukongai taking her subordinate home. Surely she could be trusted to watch over her friend. “So, do you want to go to your house, or did you want to stay with me until your hand is healed up?” Adele asked, ignoring the looks the doctors and nurses gave her.
When she was picked up by the devious Adele, she let out a quiet yelp but kept silent afterwards to avoid the two getting caught by a wandering nurse or doctor. When they were pretty safe and okay, she let out a laugh.
“Let’s just go home to the Tenth. I don’t want to be a burden for you and Adelaide-san.”
Adele smirked at Ren’s yelp, and remained smug even as she exited the Fourth’s grounds. “To my house it is!” She cheered, “I’ll only worry if I can’t keep you in my sights.” Still smiling, the Mystic began the journey home much happier than she’d been on her way to the Fourth.
