A vast nothingness engulfed the entire area. Dry, humid air circulated in the coarse wind as salt kicked up from the unforgiving breeze. Like glass the sky went on for miles into the expansive salt flats of Bolivia. It had to be one of the harshest biomes in the world with little to no life. The land seemed to absorb anything put into it including people. This was the field of battle, there were no hiding places, no clouds to shade you from the beating sun. Just deafening silence.
Theo was no stranger to fights, although, fights with other shinigami was a first. The only spars he had were from the academy and those were always highly monitored. His lulled eyes looked down onto the salty ground trying to escape the heat. A blindingly white hooded robe covered his body, the darkness cast over him the only shade he could find in this unforgiving land.
”Why did I let you talk me into this Shidare-sama.” His tone saturated with disatisfication. What did I tell you about that formal stuff babe!? You know exactly why, you need to learn to fight. The irrational woman was correct, the young boy did need to learn to fight but, he had plenty of things to study up on for fighting before attempting practicals.
He slothed through the salt flats noting the way the ground grabbed him with each step. He would not be able to stay in one place for too long. ”I do not have any maps or data on my opponent. They would not let me look him up. I foresee problems I do not want to deal with Shi.” His younger side showed or perhaps it was a mix of restlessness and disinterest. Either way, he wanted to get the fight over with but, how would he find his opponent in such a grand arena? He let his head sunk even lower as his arms dangled aimlessly at his sides letting the oversized cloak consume him as it drug on the ground leaving a trail behind him.

[ Item Appearance ]
Commonly worn on his person, Theo has an azure blue scarf that he has constantly wrapped around his neck. The thread it is made of is silk, soft to the touch and screeches when rubbed together. The scarf is just under a meter long with frayed ends.
[ Item Ability ]
By spending 100 reiatsu, the scarf glows a faint color and begin to flow as if blowing in the wind. The next kidou Theo casts will gain an additional 5 meters to its range, furthermore, when speaking there will be a soft, deep voice overlay from the properties the scarf.
[ Acquisition ]
The creation of Hell Moth’s is something not explicitly known to every person in Soul Society. However, the upper echelon of his division tasked him with the mission to watch over a batch of hatchlings. During the process, his scarf was infused with the mystical energies of the area and situation that lead to its kidou enhancing and commutative properties
“There is probably a good reason for that.” Eiji arrived at one of the entrances close to his opponent. He wore his regular robe, without any chains, free from all constraint. He had been summoned by someone from the Enforced Criminal Service, but he did not know who nor did he know why. He just knew that he had to fight.
“Yamamura Eiji, Twel-, no, that’s not right.” He reaper laughed. “Yamamura Eiji, Seventh Division. I’m serving my sentence and this seems to be something like a reward. Perhaps they think i’ve been good?” The assassin felt good about this. He had been in brawls before, more than once. Even against his own comrades and the like. He had even managed to get himself so far that he had assassinated a shinigami, on orders of course. All that was in the past now. He looked to his left where the shinigami stood and analyzed him from head to toe. “And who might you be?”
Theo was wandering aimlessly until quizzical words from a random man snapped him out from his day dream. He rose his head just enough to see the man while the shade from his hood loomed over his own. He found his eyes straining to climb the man’s stature as he towered over the white robed child. His body was covered with a considerable amount of muscle mass and a large scare cut across his face. This passerby was Theo’s opponent for the day. Could they have picked a better antithesis for me... His eyes retreated back to the solace of the shade from his hood while his melodramatic voice grabbed the attention of the other shinigami.
“We are Theodoor Holiday, unseated member of the First Division. I look forward to the oncoming battle.” The last words could not have been more of a lie but, Theo was trying to somewhat enjoy himself. After all, he knew Shi wanted this more than anything else because she had been hinting at how stuffy the Athena Room was getting.
A bubbly laugh of joy echoed in the child’s mind as the rain dropped onto Shi’s inner world. He’s a hottie! Too bad my man is going to treat him like last week’s dinner! I am here if you need me baby! Her excitement was contagious as the azure blue eyed child’s blood began to boil and his heart rate climb. Battle always gave him anxiety, at least, a battle he had no data on. Theo did not enjoy flying by the edge of his pants.
His tiny arm rose as the fabric draped over his hand and hung closer to the ground below. The shadows covered his gestures as a single finger pointed at the man’s chest. “Hitotsu!” Suddenly a burst of red light erupted from his digit and shot at the man. The sound erupted to every corner of the area as a deafening sound tossed his robe around in the wind. He lifted his head to an angle to peer one eye out checking on the reaction of the man and what he would do.

- Hitotsu: Beniikazuchi (Crimson Thunder) - Hadou #3, 15 kidou Description: A beam of deep red lightning is blasted from the user's pointing finger towards the enemy. The spell creates a deafening sound equivalent to a destructive 80s-level hadou. Its strike is not very strong but the impact can make superficial bruises and cause the skin to blister.
As the spell flew towards him, the assassin did not try to move. He did not try to block it nor parry it. He just stood there and took it. A weak spell as such did not have much impact on him and he simply stumbled back a few steps and almost immediately regained his balance. It left a small hole in his shihakushou and a red mark on his chest, but that was it.
“So it’s a kidou battle you want huh?” Eiji readied his finger and pointed at the shinigami in front of him. “Well, two can play that game.
“Converge light into spaces of darkness.” A small spark emerged at the end of his index finger. “Hadou number four, Byakurai!”
The lightningbolt made its way towards his foe and the scarred assassin did nothing but watch as it moved with penetrating speed.
The red beam of light struck the man’s chest as the noise dispersed into the expansive platu. The kidou was never one that was exceptionally powerful but his opponent did not know that or did he? With not so much as a seconds notice the six foot man began chanting his own kidou in retort. This was going to be a casters battle for now and that was good news for the little child. A devilish grin crept onto his face during his friends incantation. He knew what he was casting, it was a kidou that all young arcanists were familiar with and Theo even more so. Immediately blue lighting erupted from the finger pointed at the azure child as it crackled and slithered toward him. The tattoo on his neck began to glow within the shadows of his hood as kidouic energy flowed into it and lastly into the already extended finger. “Futatsu!” Not much unlike his enemy blue lightning erupted from his finger as it collided with the other kidou as the two attacks negated each other out and the battlefield was left quite once more. The young shinigami lowered his arm to rub his eye for a moment as he made a yawning motion. “I do not mean to tell you what you can do better Shinigami-sama but I do not recommend a kidou competition if you plan to win. Perhaps another method would prove more beneficial to you.” This was the joy that was Theo, he was helpful and mean all at the same time. His honesty was as sharp as a blade but softer than a pillow. Many found it agrivating but he was unsure how this new shinigami would take him. Let me out! You need me for this! Comon baby! lets tag team him, plus I want to get the chance to touch his chest!Shi was in high spirits ever since the start of the battle however, the short Death God was not yet ready to unleash the siren of a woman onto this man just yet. I need more data Shidori-sama. “I apologize, I did not catch your introduction.”
“Yamamura Eiji, Seventh Division.” His answer was a short as his temper this time. He knew that he probably would not be able to win a fight when it came down to Demon Arts, but it did not matter. It was not his forte and he had a lot of other ways to fight.
“Since I already know your name, I suppose that’s it for introductions.” Eiji readied his stance and looked at the man in front of him. “Please interrupt me if you have anything more to say.”
Without further notice, Eiji ran as fast as he could towards his foe.
Seventh division, an area of Gotei saved for people who were unruly at best. The young shingami was familiar with their ways if only because of rumor. He had never actually met one of them in person but the realization that this man could cause some serious harm same to him faster than his feet would move. Theo did not have time to plan out attacks or analyze the situation, this was the exact reason he was in this tournament to experience these kinds of feelings a part from his usual run of the mill perfection. He needed to learn how to react in the heat of battle and make a choice that was agreeable with his fighting style or one that would set up a counter attack.
Charging in head first, what a simple minded man. The tiny shinigami was arrogant to say the least. He felt a superiority when it came to fights like this, one sided. His hubris often times got the best of him in a battle making him underestimate his opponent but it was hard when you were so sure of your plan. Cumbersomely wielding Shidare about the arena would not prove beneficial for him, as it was the sword already made moving awkward but training had compensated for that. At this stage in his life Theo was a one trick pony but he would think of it as effective.
Regardless of speed the calculative eyes of the child could follow most if not all of the movements of Eiji-sama. He was not slow but Theo was faster. He met the stampeding bull with a raise of his right hand as his neck began to glow. “Futatsu!” Bright blue light emanated from his finger tip as searing hot kidoic energy hissed toward the man’s femoral region.
“I do not think running head first into battle is a very thought out strategy Eiji-sama” the childlike shinigami was clearly mocking his opponent turning the whole battle into a game, one filled with sarcastic undermining retorts.
Once again, Eiji stopped right in his tracks. The spell hit him this time again, piercing a bit into his thigh. It did not do much damage than a small hole but it was enough to stop the assassin from moving any further. He felt the warm blood flow down his right leg but did not put much thought into it.
“So you’re still fighting using kidou... I think I have a spell that’s perfect for you.” The area around the reaper started turning into a blur. Whatever reiatsu was around him, he turned it against himself and within a few seconds, he had disappeared from sight. There was no reiatsu to be felt and without any sort of vision enhancement, it would almost be impossible to spot him. This was a division technique he had learned from his now former vice-captain; Honoka Mizuki. The female had disappeared some time before he had been sent to the Seventh Division and it made him a bit sad to hear that. He knew that he had a lot he wanted to learn from the assassin but he was unable to now. So, let’s see how you coop with this. Eiji moved closer and closer to his foe, preparing himself for a lethal strike.

Tech used
[ Reiatsu no Senpuku ]
"Reiatsu Cloaking”
The user of this technique is able to bend his reiatsu in unnatural directions enabling him through practice to bend his aura to mimic the ambient reiatsu in his immediate area, effectively dropping out of spiritual perception. With practice, the user of this technique can even distort in an area, allowing the user to blend in to his surroundings as if he weren’t there. Advanced users may even be able to hide others in their cloak or even distort light to appear as someone else.
Excessive movement, Shunpo, and release of Shikai will all break the active camouflage, but only Shikai can break the reiatsu suppression. As reiatsu is a natural part of the shinigami’s being, bending and twisting it into unnatural shapes and forcing it to emit natural properties is extremely unnatural. Doing so can be excruciatingly painful at first until the user develops "reaitsu flexibility.”
Theo held back the growing joy he felt from being perceived on his face save for a slight twinge in his eye. The blood ran down his prey’s leg and into the dry floor of the barren land, blood staining its almost pure white surface. The young child wondered how much blood this land had seen and eroded away but that was a thought for another time now he had to show everyone, no, to prove to everyone he was worthy of their scrutiny. His tiny hands grabbed at the seams of his hood as his face was cast into the light of day and his voice as docile as ever. “Why would I not use the Demonic Arts Eiji-sama, that is the specialty of the First Division and I am a member of that Division. One would only assume that kidou would be vital to my combat strategy.” Theo, of all people giving lessons on how to fight someone and to an experienced killer from the sounds of it. The irony of the situation really made the child giggle on the inside but his stone cold resolve would not crack to the child within, he would defeat him and not move from his location. If it was not a special technique employed by his opponent Theo would swear that the heat was getting to him. One second the goliath of a man was before him and the next he was gone, no trace him him save for a few small details. Taking a lesson out of Sayis-inuzuri’s book the child’s eyes were terrifyingly analytical, it would seem he had all the time in the world with the lack of battle pressure being forced on to him. Small things would catch his eye that were a miss, the sounds of heavy feet grinding against the turned up sediment, light foot prints and dashes in the course earth. Seeing as how the man was not baring down on the child already he assumed that whatever technique he was using prevented him from extremely fast movements. “I spy with my little eye.... Well no I do not spy. This is not fun anymore, I had not anticipated an attack of this sort. Theo, baby, when am I gona get to play with him! I bet I could spot him for you! The overanxious spirit wasn’t wrong. With her rain he would be able to pinpoint the mans location easily. However, this was a game and his opponent had yet to move an effective piece on the board. The fox was baring his fangs to see how much fun he could have before tearing his opponant apart.

He kept on moving, never standing in a place for too long. The surface he walked on would have left too much of a lead for him to stay hidden for long. As he moved, he almost dragged the hurt leg with him. The piercing attack that he felt did not ache much as it hit him but the adrenaline rush he experienced had vanished, and with it, the pain had come along.
Just a little bit more, and I can end it.
Eiji was standing but a few feet from his target, moving around him and behind his back. His first course of action would be to blitz him with a flash step, but the pain in his leg did not allow him to do that. Instead, he unsheathed his sword, perhaps a bit too fast. The sound that came from him could most definitely be heard by his foe.
It was getting easier to to notice the subtle changes in the ground. His entire focus was looking for the presence of his enemy. Just as he thought he might discern the location something would tip him off otherwise. To the onlookers the match would seem dull and boring from a few moments ago when kidou met kidou and they each measure eachothers metal. Now there was only silence on the battlefield and the scorching sun. Wind blew like heat waves against the porcelain child’s face. “I do not understand what you are trying to do. I would have thought an attack would have been initiated by now.” The aristocratic rantings of the short shinigami were never in short supply and would prove to weather down even the hardest of fortitudes. Although, despite his verbal jabs the man’s only met them with silence. Silence was a funny thing, one moment it enveloped everything and the next like a star in the sky it was cut through like a blade. His eyes made a drastic assessment of the situation. There was no sign of his opponent to his front, no more foot steps to track or streaks to watch for. The sound pierced the silence stabbing at Theo from behind as his pulse rose. He was caught off guard but again there was no immediate threat, his opponent would wait too long. The young arcanist would be ready for anything Eiji could throw at him from behind. He waited with anticipation to put him in check once more. That’s it Theo, take your time with him, enjoy the fight! This is what its all about!
His movement was almost broken, compared to what he had been doing later. The wound in the leg had started to hurt more for every step he took, for every second that passed. He wanted to end it quickly, but he was aware that it would not be that easy. The reaper whom he targeted was still at full energy.
He’ll probably find out where I am soon. My movement is sloppy and slow and I can’t get a killing blow on him with my sword. I’ll have to do better, perhaps even use all my strength.
Eiji tightened his grip on the hilt of the sword, holding it with both hands. Drops of sweat fell down his forehead and hands as he moved. The pain was still there but he tried to ignore it. The time he had spent locked up had drained most of his power and a lot of his energy. He needed to be swift if he wanted to win this.
With all the force he could muster up, he swung his sword towards the spellcaster. It was a shallow strike but it went directly towards his foe.
A saturated killing intent emanated from behind the youth but he was ready for it. He new the strike would come from behind what but kind he was unsure of although he had assumed some type of blade. A fire lit in his eyes as his inner soul amassed reitsue to fuel his counter. With a pivot on his heel Theo raised his hand to the side palm facing forward. “Tangent.” This had all gone down within a second, before him a burst of energy met the oncoming attack and repelling it with enough force to send his opponent back to the beginning again.
“It was advantageous for me to strike your leg, had you been faster I would have surely been caught off guard. It seem that was an ineffective way as well Eiji-sama”
Feeling the wind at his feet Theo burst into a shunpo placing himself at his maximum casting range. Again the field was reset and his opponent was in check. He let out a deep breath, it was the first time he had performed a flash step in combat and it proved to be just as taxing as he remembered. He hadn’t exerted too much reitsue, his batteries were still on high but he wanted a greater advantage. He unsheathed his blade and drew it forward as he awkwardly held it in his two hands, the wind wobbling it from side to side.
“Do you have anything else you could try Eiji-sama, I was hoping to try several counter measures I had prepared!”

Tangent - Bakudou #32, 320 Kidou
Description: One of the fastest working barrier spells around, it is a speedy and relatively easy going counter. Chanting the short incantation, an instantaneous burst of energy flares in front of the user, lasting only for a split second. It is capable of blocking strikes at the user's own strength or lower. If any physical contact with the Tangent barrier is made, the opponent will be knocked off his/her feet, sent flying backwards roughly 8m, though not hurt. All the combined effects of this spell happen in less than a second from the completion of the incantation, making it light but hard to evade.
Eiji flew back, stunned from the shield he had just hit. His blow had been reflected and he felt that it was his only chance to get a clean hit off of his foe. Even though he had put all his strength and force behind the blow, it was weak. The wound in his leg gave him little to no balance and the fact that his abilities with the sword were his worst trait did not help. The assassin had done his fair share of attacking. Nothing so far had worked against his opponent and he was starting to run out of ideas. He tried running every scenario he could think of but every time he got to the end, it was all the same. Kyoujin. “You don’t want to know what I have up my sleeve.” This time, he did not start the attack. He simply waited for the caster to initiate, hoping to get a chance to counter his attack or at least find some kind of weakness.
The two men measured each other up and for once Theo would be on the offensive. Reitsue began swirling around him as his white robe danced with power, “Aryūru sorera, Shi Josei.” Fog blanketed his form as his weapon glowed and shot up into the sky. Clouds began to roll and the air became heavy with moisture and cold. A light drizzle accompanied the symphony of sounds in the storm until the fog around Theo dissipates revealing his new form. Where once a child stood the man Theodoor, Holiday now was. Muscles filled his frame and maturity seemed to exude from his physical form. His hands adorned with the white gloves encrust with a heart. Now that’s what mama's talk’n about! That guy has nothing on my man!The matured shinigami did not feel at home in this new skin but he had come to tolerate it. It was nice not being perceived as a child now and then and this only helped to alleviate the stigma. The rain began to pick up as the land absorbed the water like it was starving. The ground became loose and much more mud like as it grasped at the bare feet of Theo. “Looks like we have to keep moving now Shi.” His eyes narrowed in on his enemy as a clone seemingly split from his being. It was an exact copy of him, scarf, gloves, robe, there was no telling the difference between which was real and which was fake; as the odds for his victory went up so did his arrogance. “This will be overy swiftly Eiji-sama, prepare yourself.” He was more serious now than anyone had seen him in a while. Even his Captain might take a look at the battle to understand his determination in ascertaining power to lead people. He was here to prove that the vicious eyes of his preceptors were not needed, that was his goal during this quest for blood. Wind gathered at their feet when they shunpoed closer to the target. Which was the real one and which was the fake only Theo knew. He positioned himself in front of Eiji while his phantom menaced from behind the six foot man. Simultaneously they raised their right hands as their voices joined into one, “Futatsu!.” Together blasts of lightning erupted from both fingers as the crackle of energy screeched toward Eiji. Theo cast a phantom kidou aimed for his enemy’s femoral rejoin once more, the ghost aimed for Eiji’s right antebrachial. Both barred down on him until he would only be able to perceive the real kidou.

These phantoms, have no physical body to them and as such can be easily wiped away by attacks is greater than that of their creation cost. Creation cost is divided evenly among all created phantasms. Theo can maintain any phantom for the duration of his shikai by paying 1% of his reiatsu per turn for each phantom active, maximum of three. These phantoms replicate any cast Theo makes, however, only one of the spells may damage an opponent and be real. It must be stated which is the real kidou when being cast, either by Theo or one of his phantoms. Any kidou cast looks as real as the real thing until it makes contact with its target or is dodged.
- Futatsu: Byakurai - Hadou #4, 25 Kidou Thats 1% + kidou cost so roughly like 40 or so :0 yay for cheap stuff
The lightning bolts came towards the assassin yet again, this time two of them. He did not act. He just stood there, taking both of the attacks, hoping he would make it. Unlike what he imagined, only one of them hit. The target was his arm this time around, which made it worse. It pierced right through, going from one end of his arm to the other. He screamed in pain, unaware of what was coming next.
He moved quickly, running sideways away from his opponent, trying to make some distance between them. His pierced arm was aching just where the attack had hit and the electricity from the blow almost made his arm numb. He tried holding his zanpakutou as tightly as he could, holding it towards the attacker who had hit him as he tried ignoring the pain.
“Silent like a shadow.” His reiatsu rose to a level higher than before, swirling around his arms. The blade itself disappeared into thin air. Instead, a tri-bladed weapon emerged on each hand, armoring him for the upcoming battle.
As he looked up at the reaper, he just now noticed the change in form. He laughed a little inside, happy that he would not have to fight a child anymore. He looked him right in the eyes as he got into a fighting pose, lifting both blades up high to cover his face.
“Running away is not an attack plan I would have taken Eiji-sama. There are several other offensive routes you could have taken that would not lead to your defeat.” This was not a battle practical where Theo got to teach someone how to fight but he could not help his own hubris. The underestimation of his opponent or any opponent would eventually be his downfall. He did not care, seeing no chance of failure he pressed on with his assault as he thought one if not two more possibilities of attack besides the one he would attack with. That was his style of fighting, with every minute that passed he would process strategies beyond his opponent, that is what made him such a scary opponent.
The rain was at a steady downpour as the ground began to reflect the sky’s clouds. Ripples in the water appeared everywhere from the constant rain. His white robe slowly getting wet and heavy with every moment. He cast it aside revealing his normal shinigami attire paired with his hot pink heart stamped gloves. He was hardly winded but the atmospheric temperature was cold enough to clearly see the breath. Light fog danced atop the water as Shi felt at home. “Shi, I will never get used to your cold nature.” He said with his lip trembling.
They shunpoed toward their opponent both equally as far away as they were a few moments ago but this time side by side. Looking at their opponent Theo stood to the left of his phantom and together their scarfs began to wave as if in a breeze. Their voices mulled over one another as a demonic undertone chimed in from the depths.
“We are not boy’s!Futatsu!”
His agitation personified as the pair was the lighting in the storm; parallel lines of lightning blazed toward Eiji. The real one soared for his already wounded leg while the fake one aimed to attack his punctured arm.

Eiji stood there and took the hit. It went through his leg and further, right into the ground. It hurt, he knew that much but he was not about to give up. He had not lost many fights before and this was not going to be one either. He mustered up the strength he needed and prepared to attack. Just a while ago, he had been hit by a spell and attacked Theo, which did not do anything. A regular attack that came from nowhere could not do anything towards him. He had managed to release one spell and block the whole attack. I’ll have to go at it from a whole other direction. If I could just take out one clone. Without thinking anymore, Eiji started chanting. “Converge light into spaces of darkness.” He lifted his finger as he readied himself for what was coming. “Hadou number four, Byakurai!” The lightningbolt shot out towards one of the assailants, the one whose spell had hit the reaper. As he watched the other one, Eiji sunk into one of his shadows. Before the lightningbolt had even arrived at its location, the assassin emerged. Behind his target, with both his claws raised high, he shot them down towards the other one. He had finally managed to get out an attack which would be able to take out his opponent, only if he was lucky enough. Down you go!

Up until now the battle had been an easily calculated chess match with the young boy able to counter any move Eiji could make. The eruption of the kidou did not take Theo by surprise as he would meet it with his own. He rose his hand in the traditional manner of the simple spell. “Futatsu!” The bolts collided in an eruption of kidouic energy much like the one before.
The corner of his eye screamed as Theo’s clone was split in half instantaneously. His heart jumped and his fear settled into his veins. Immediately he took the moment to shunpo away from his once adjacent enemy as he tried to control his rapid breathing. What was that! I was so focused on countering him again that I did not see how he appeared behind us. For once Theo was in check and he did not enjoy the feeling.
“It would seem that your release as exponentially increased your speed Eiji-sama. Had you not gone for my clone that strike would have surely ended the match.” Irritation crawled out from his voice as the clone dissipated into nothingness. Much like before Theo created clones of himself but this time, there were two clones of the azured shinigami.
Together they spoke like a team that had practiced for years, “It would appear that one was too little in order to achieve victory. Please, come again Eiji-sama.” Fox grins creeped onto their faces as they readied themselves for an attack. Theo stood in the middle of his clones with eleation.
He was starting to tire of what was going on. Not only was he fighting two people at the same time, he was getting wounded as well. He had managed to attack both of them at the same time but for nothing. His demon art had been blocked and Kagesochi had hit a clone. He had a lot of wounds over his body and he was almost out of energy. This was enough for him.
Eiji jumped back after the attack, making some distance between himself and his foe. He created another clone, another annoyance in the reapers mind. He wanted no more with this. Without any warning, he re-sealed his sword and sheathed it again. He looked at his adversary for a few seconds before turning around and walking towards the door. “Later.” Those were his last words in the arena. Before anyone could do anything, he had exited through the doors. The gaolers stood ready waiting for him, cuffed him and escorted him off the premise.
