His hands lazily scrolled through the massive amount of information held within the data banks of the 9th Division’s Athena library. Once again he was unable to sleep due to his thirst for knowledge and his insomnia. The shadows under his eyes aged him way past his usual prime. His hair was tufted in every which way, he was very tired. He had come here to learn everything he could about the quincy, their origins, their fighting style, anything he could in order to apply it to fighting hollow from a far. Shi, was having none of it, she was more of a hands on type of girl if you catch my drift. She was away from Theo right now but, if he needed her she would be there unless he pissed her off.He was just finishing his profile on the basics of the Quincy and their anatomy, not far off from humans besides a much attuned spiritual sense. There were several humans out there that had an increased spiritual sense but none quite like the Quincy, they developed their senses and learned to hone their reitsue to eradicate hollow’s from the cycle of life.
Not that this isn’t all very interesting but why are we reading about the Quincy again babe? They seem kind of boring. Theo rolled his eyes in disbelief. How someone like Theo could be paired with a woman who was seemingly the direct opposite of him. “Because Shidori-sama, I do not like to get “up close and personal” as you so put it but you already knew that. Now I would ask you to be quite for a while longer so I may focus and figure out how I can incorporate this to my fighting style or learn how to use reitsue like they do.” Geeze.. I didn’t ask for a lecture kid... She trotted off into the fog of her world with annoyance.
It was a site to behold; the azure haired child had several screens pulled up above him that were riddled with information, videos, and battle reports. The information was extensive and for the young researcher it was all a bit too much. Exhausted, he closed his eyes on the desk and drifted away.
He walked along a crowded street, people attending a local fair with an exuberant amount of lights and a tremendous amount of food. He had no clue where he was, or even if it was reality but for some odd reason he had this feeling that the answers he wanted were here in this unknown world. A bone chilling hand grabbed his as he was taken by surprise. Startled he looked over to see who it was only to be greeted by the bubbly, valupsuiouce smile of Shi.
Immediately his heart was at ease, she was the only person that he would let get this close and perhaps that is what made them such a great team.Hey kid, this is a nice dream, you’re getting really creative these days with your dreams! You should have them more often!” The young boy was unsure of what was going on but he and Shi were both in a dream world he had created. It put him at peace knowing that he was in “control” of this world and that he was not in any danger. Together, he roamed the ground of the fair in hand with his womanly counterpart sampling the food and playing a few of the games. Some part of him was still a child regardless of his habit s and intellect. Maybe that’s why Shi was created, she was supposed to bring him out into the world and allow him to objectively experience it.
The first person to greet them was none other than the man who allowed him to stay in the First Division. Sayis Inuzuri. Why is he here? Then again the frozen eyed child could not answer questions about his own subconscious. He always had that same look on his face, Sayis that is, it was a glare that seemed to pierce right through you and lay out every weakness you ever had. In an odd manner Theo resented him at the same time that he respected him. Although, probably a bit more of one than the other.
“Can I see your ticket please?” He bent over to meet the sheltered eyes of Theo as he outstretched his menacing hand and his aura became over bearing. Suddenly the festival seemed to stop and the world fell into nothingness before being reborn into a room much like the one he had been in during his intellectual evaluation.
Shi was nowhere to be found and the small child began to hyperventilate. The room was void of anything except for a desk, a few posters on the wall with arbitrary information, an observation window and a door. The chair was made of ornate sliver adorned with random jewels that seemed to be in nor manner of pattern.“Why am I in this room again?!” Theo rushed for the door entering the hallway. He looked left and right into the endless hallways each with doors side by side as far as the eye could see. Every door had caution tape with the Second Divisions symbol on it. Nothing made sense to the child and before he could get a grasp of where he was Sayis appeared in front of him once more as a blue sword pierced his chest.
He woke up abruptly grabbing his chest where the blade had pierced, his heart rate sporadic as he struggled to catch his breath. The dream had left him with many questions about everything, it was not uncommon for someone’s subconscious to tell them something through dreams but the logical child tried to dismiss the occurrence as a night mare. He rubbed his sandbagged eyes as he began to exit out of all his screens. The corner of his eye caught the Second Division symbol on a file named Schwarze Nacht : Black Night. He tried to access the information but he did not have the authority to. It would seem his research on the quincy would be halted until he was able to get his hands on the data that was stored in the Second Division archives.
With frustration he walked to his room all the back to the First Division. He pondered leaving Soul Society again for an extended period of time but they would only send someone to look for him. There were many things on the young shinigami’s check list. The first being a means to be in two places at once.
