Moving down off the rooftop, Wisteria followed her new acquaintance. As the pair made their way down the stairs, the ranked shinigami ran her hands over her hair, smoothing the stray ones back into place. She didn't really know where Rena was headed, but honestly... just about anywhere was better than being alone on the roof trying to catch sight of her old division.

It was impossible, after all. Seeing Twelfth from First. They were so far away...

"Hurry up," the raven-haired girl intoned. The violet shinigami had fallen several steps behind, so Rena grabbed the woman's hand and pulled her along. "It wouldn't be such a big deal, but everyone is in my room."

" "˜Everyone'?" Wisteria curiously asked.

Rena nodded in confirmation. "I spent so much time up there on the roof trying to talk you out of killing yourself that they're probably wondering where I'm at. Well... that, or trashed the place already." The shadow of a grin on the girl's face showed amusement to Wisteria, but the urgency in her step was enough to tell the shinigami that Rena really didn't want to find her room in a shambles.

The pair jogged across a courtyard, and the violet shinigami was lead between several buildings to their destination unknown. "Why did you go so far away just to smoke?" Wisteria asked, raising her voice to call over the wind to the girl that pulled her along.

Finally coming to the correct building, Rena made her way inside, holding the door open for Wisteria to enter as well. Shaking out her own hair, she scratched at the crown of her head. "It's not like your dorm is anywhere near that building, either. So what were you doing up there?"

Wisteria was about to reply, but thought better of it. Is there really any good way of telling her something like that? I doubt she would be able to fully understand the situation, even if I told her.

The woman's moment of silence made the girl with messy, dark hair nod. "I won't tell anyone why you were up there. You can trust me."

"That's not--!!"

Waving her hand dismissively, Rena continued on. "Not too far now."

I should just go back to my room. Go to bed. This is ridiculous. Despite her line of thought, though, Wisteria followed the girl. Maybe just a little while. To be polite.

You give in so easily.

Give me a break. It's better than being rude outright to someone that was kind to me. I'll just spend a little time here and then excuse myself to go to bed.

The spirit remained silent, which was well enough. As Rena opened the door they had stopped in front of, Wisteria would have been rendered too speechless to reply properly anyway.

The room beyond the open door was atrocious at best. Clothes were strewn everywhere, from the furniture to the floors. Empty of half-empty cups and bottles studded the cluttered table. Beyond even more dirty dishes and garbage was a small shelf of books that didn't look as if it had been touched in ages. Packs of cigarettes (empty or full, Wisteria didn't know) were stacked precariously on a bedside table.

In the center of the mess lounged three individuals. The lighting wasn't fantastic (thanks to what appeared to be a blue skirt hanging over the room's single lamp), but Wisteria could pick out some of the traits each person had. The female resting off to the side had long, dark hair and a narrow face. Judging by the looks of her, she was probably quite tall as well. She swirled the glass in her hand out of habit, turning the liquid within it round, nearly melted ice tinkling faintly against the glass.

The man in the center also appeared to have dark hair. Aside from being quite loud in his inebriated state, Wisteria could see very few unique things about him in such lighting. So many men here have the same hairstyle, she found herself thinking. How do they expect us to keep them straight?

The room's other occupant was a redheaded girl. She was slumped comfortably against the simple male, appearing to be on quite friendly terms with him. Her hand rubbed absently along his chest as she jabbered excitedly in an admittedly sweet voice.

"That one there is Akoto Yuzuki," Rena said, pointing to the narrow-faced woman. Moving toward the others, the girl took a handful of the exuberant male's hair, lifting his face so that Wisteria could see it better. "This is Kobiyashi Kaito. Famous for being my boyfriend, infamous for flirting with every girl." She gave his cheek a firm flick, of which the man whined about, rubbing the soft, assaulted place.

"And the one that can't help giving in to his pathetic antics is Suzuki Kaede." Instead of messing with the redheaded girl, Rena patted her friend's shoulder instead. "So, now that we're not strangers here, sit down!"

Just... staying to be polite.

Seating herself, Wisteria took a closer look at the new acquaintances. She had doubts that she would ever spend much time with any of them, but it never hurt to know a person or two. Especially being so new to the division. "Nice to meet you all."

"So formal!" Kaito brayed. "Rena, where did you find her? Finishing school? We want a girl that knows how to paaaaartyyyy!"

Delivering a firm flick to the man's forehead this time, Rena made a face at him. "You want a girl that knows how to party!" Searching around, she murmured a noise of discovery and grabbed a glass from the nearby bookshelf. Peeking inside it, she gave it a testing sniff before nodding approval. Grabbing one of the unlabeled bottles, she filled the cup to the brim, setting it in front of Wisteria. "This one's yours."

Topping off her own glass, and the glasses of the others, Rena held hers high in the air. "To tonight!" she exclaimed. "To meeting new people! To spending time with old friends! And to getting so shitfaced that we can't see straight!"

Kaede raised her glass high, squealing her drunk agreement, and Kaito thrust his glass into the air as well. The quiet Yuzuki gave a thin smile and raised hers to meet the others. The four pairs of eyes turned expectantly to Wisteria, who chewed lightly on the corner of her lip at receiving so much attention.

It's just one. One won't hurt.

Taking up her glass, Wisteria held it high.

The others grinned, and glasses clinked roughly together. "KANPAI!"
