Aokigahara forest. As luck would have it, and whether that luck was good or bad was anyone's guess anymore, this place had become something of a well known hot-zone for any Shinigami assigned to round up wayward souls. For reasons that defied any conventional sense of reasoning, people came here in scores solely for the purpose of taking their own lives. Usually whatever unlucky member of the Gotei that was assigned the densely wooded area could find him or herself ushering on multiple souls in the course of a day.
Morbidly convenient, in a sense.
Luckily, Tsubaki wasn't unlucky on this particular visit. She wasn't here to stamp foreheads and pantomime sympathetic words of encouragement or concern. There was a creature loose in this labyrinth of trees and moss, and the former Templar Queen was going to find it.
