The bright beam searing towards them made Adele reach towards her swords, but she was pulled out of the way before she could attempt to defend them with her blades. Once they stilled, the nekogami brought her swords together and began to weave a simple melody. It was the only piece of music she could remember at the moment, a simple tune derived from the bass part of Pachelbel's Canon in D. Shortly after she began to play, a thin sphere of reiatsu formed around Ren. Once the shield was complete, the nekogami cast a kidou to trap the burning hollow.

Chanting quickly, Adele barely spared a breath between phrases before calling out, "Aquatic Cell!" A column of water ensnared Haggard, preventing him from pursuing the shinigami again. "I'll finish this as quickly as possible," the neko promised the vampire before rushing to deliver death.

Pachelbel’s Protection
Adele plays a classical piece on her kodachi to channel 10% of her reiatsu into this tune, she creates a spherical shield that has a radius between 1 and 3 meters. This is most effective when she uses Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The shield repels foreign/enemy reiatsu. Enemy reiatsu is recognized based on the sound of the reiatsu of anything that approaches the shield, allowing allies to remain in the shield, unharmed. Pachelbel’s Shield degrades over time if her kodachi do not come into contact with one another in order for her to play at least once per turn.

Aquatic Cell - Bakudou #43, 600 Kidou

Description: This spell creates a column of water and binds the target within it. The conjured spire of liquid's width and height is determined by the caster's Kidou Stat, but is always able to completely engulf the enemy. Aquatic Cell is very rich in oxygen and allows living things without gills to breathe.

Incantation: Let the wave-tossed Undine appear from sleep and submerge the enemy into the riverbed! Aquatic Cell!

It was a devastating combination of attacks that resulted in Haggards demise. First a watery prison that trapped the injured hollow in a single spot, not that he would be quick enough to dodge anyway, and then through that watery prison came the triple colored flames that burned through everything including Haggard's already dejected body. And finally the killing blow from a piercing strike from the nekogami's sword directly into the face of the soul cannibal. With it's mask broken Haggard with one last defiant battle cry vanished entirely as his death signaled to the shinigami the end of the conflict.

As the steam rose up from the water prison Haggard was held inside of, the deep scream from his death echoed in the air. The vampire medic watched as the burning mist slowly blew away with what little wind caressed the landscape, revealing Adele still standing strong.

Ren ran shakily towards her friend, her wounded leg forcing her to almost trip a few times. When she was standing side by side with her friend, her hand began to glow with a white flame. The same flame that kissed the wounds of Haggard, though now it had the purpose of healing Adele's wounds. "Chiyudou number fifty- Ivory Flame."

Gently, she pressed her hand to the arm of the nekogami, the searing hot flame sealing the pierce wound within seconds. Then, slowly, every other small wound began to cauterize themselves with the lovely graces of the burning Chiyudou. She would tend to Adele's wounds on their return home.

In front of the two shinigami, a Senkaimon began to open, the serene bells chiming compellingly, asking for the shinigami to return to their homes. Ren shakily walked towards the doorway, her gloves wilting into shreds of fabric only to form into her sheath as the sealed weapon. When the white light enveloped the two, Ren smiled warmly. Now there was time to spend with Aiden and not have to worry about some disgusting hollow.

Once her blades pierced Haggard's mask, Adele was blasted with her least favorite sound in existence: the dying cries of a hollow. Once the monster had disintegrated, a trembling plus lay in its wake. The nekogami lowered her swords, arms shaking from emotional exhaustion. Perhaps the hollow had hurt her and Ren, but she was a murderer. The twin kodachi in her hand faded away, leaving her sealed zanpakuto in her right hand.

The nekogami hardly noticed Ren healing her, her silver eyes focused on the purified soul Haggard had left behind. When the gates that lead home opened, Adele didn't immediately follow her friend through. She shuffled towards the whimpering plus and crouched by the fearful soul. "I'm sorry," she whispered in the plus's ear before stamping it on the forehead with the butt of her sword to send it to Rukongai. Sheathing her blade, she stood, turned and walked towards the white light.

A death god indeed... she thought numbly as she was transported back to Soul Society. Her anger having melted away, the nekogami couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt clinging to her. She closed her eyes, but even her eyelids could not keep out the image of the hollow's purified soul shivering and crying.
