The evening was the same as everyone before it, the fresh summer breeze blowing through the gym as Kaguro Alzin was finishing the close down work. He finished locking the doors and closed out all the lights, he turned to do one final look over of the gym before heading into his attached apartment. He lived here alone, ever since his father passed away a few years prior. He spends all his time and effort training people, and keeping the gym his father built alive.
Kaguro left the police academy due to his fathers death, because he wanted to run the gym and keep what part of his father alive that he could. He didn't see it as giving up on his dreams, only deciding to follow a new path. He would do the same routine day in and day out nothing every changing and he liked it that way, he would take any buddy in and help them to learn to defend themselves the same way that his father taught him so many years ago.
As he was walking into his apartment he heard a loud band coming from the bay door for the gym that was normally used for deliveries.
“I don't have anything coming in at this hour.”
He turned to look at the door thinking maybe it was just his imagination, that was until the door shuddered as three more bangs against the door echoed though the empty gym. He turned on the lights to the gym and started to walk over to the door, the pounding on its outside becoming more frequent and harder as he got closer.
As he was roughly fifteen to twenty feet from the door it came flying into the gym making him dive to the ground, just barely getting his arms to cover his head as the metal ripped across his forearms sending blood splattering in all directions. He quickly looked up to see what had the strength to smash the steel door right out of its frame but, he wasn't able to see anything there the door way was clear with no trace of anything being there.
He quickly got up to his feet and ran over to the empty door frame and looked around, the only thing that he could see where large indentations along the ground outside the door. Looking at them for a while he couldn’t place what it was that could have left such a massive mark on the paved road, they weren’t any kind of vehicle he knew of but looked more like an elephants foot print.
Crazy, he thought to himself. One, the weight would have to be ten times that of an elephant. And secondly, where one earth could that type of creature come from without anyone noticing.
Walking back into the gym he walked over to one of the first aid kits along the walls and took it down, he opened it up and used the pads to clean the blood from his arms as best he could before wrapping both of his arms. They weren’t bleeding as bad as he thought he should be, if the door had of been any lower he thought it could have ripped right to the bone if not take a limb with it.
“Well at least I still have some luck.” He cleaned up the area and put the first aid kit back on the wall, as he was leaving the gym again he heard a crash come from where the door was now laying inside one of the boxing rings of gym.
Quickly turning to see what it was, he saw that the ring itself had folded in on itself for what seemed like no reason. He look closely to see the dirt and dust flying into the air but, not perfectly the two were wrapping around something standing there something that he couldn’t see clearly. He watched as this figure left the ring walking closer to him, knocking over weight benches and weight stands getting closer and closer to him. Next thing he knew a blurred limb from this shadowy figure reached up and swung across the room destroying things as it came closer to his body, acting on his instincts Kaguro turn to face the attack putting up both his arms crossed in front of his chest left over right, the figure came closer and made contact with his arms sending him off the ground and across the gym till he hit a padded area meant for grappling techniques.
He got back onto his feet the white bandages on his arms turned red from fresh blood, his eyes scanned the room for his attacker again the place seemed empty. Refusing to be caught off guard again he took up his traditional south paw boxing stance, and moved onto his toes for faster movements. His eyes trying as hard as they could to focus on anything out of place, any small movement that might give him notice of where his attack would be coming from. A sound came from his right and he turned only in time to get his arms up in defence again before another shadowy limb of some massive creature shot him across the gym again landing in a make shift kitchen area that was mainly used as extra income selling smoothies and health food to the people in the gym. He got onto his feet vision starting to blur as blood was falling from his right brow down his face, he tried to wipe it clean but the flow was stronger then he could stop so he turned his attention to finding a way to fight an invisible enemy.
Scanning the room again his noticed it this time, at least he saw an outline of what ever this thing was a creature that stood about twelve feet tall with arms and legs the size of small trees. The most noticeable thing about this creature was a hole in its chest, at least it seemed like a hole he could see clearly past that one area where the rest of the outline was a blur. This time he saw the arm coming right at him but, just as before there was nothing he could do but get his arms up in defence. He was thrown into the wall right behind him and he slid down the wall blood flowing from his right brow and both arms, the last thing he could recall before blacking out was a figure dressed in all black carrying a sword appearing out of seemingly nowhere then with one fluid movement slicing through the figure that had been assaulting him.
