“Fuck you.” - Kite

Reiatsu: 52,367
~Undead~ 56, 503
~Abomination~ 66, 777
~You Are Dead~ 73, 314
Combat: 25,367
Agility: 1,000
Fortitude: 26,000

Appearance -

Blue eyes rivaling even the most sparkling ocean are set in a sea of pale, nearly alabaster skin resembling that of an albino. Similarly, the man is adorned with a short crop of platinum hair that is often left unstyled. A tall young man of swarthy build, Kite has long and lean muscles that possess a deceptive strength despite their lack of bulk. Typically, Kite possesses a quite casual outfit, and will refuse to ‘dress up’ or get in uniform as much as possible.

Persona -

Growing up with the knowledge his family was dead, and without any relatives to help shape and guide Kite, he grew into a independent and fierce man. The lack of stable authority figures in his life deprived him of the elements of personality most receive when young that teach them to respect authority figures and those with social, or even stately power. As someone who refuses to, or perhaps cannot recognize the authority invested into others, Kite is expectantly belligerent.

Further, with the absence of a nurturing family, Kite failed to learn the moral compass of most civilized human beings. This doesn't mean he condones or even appreciates murder, betrayal, or even conventional social stigmas but rather that seemingly callous acts are the norm for him, as the constraints of civilization are much more limited. Additionally, the knowledge that the world has taken his family fosters a view of the world as arbitrary: neither good nor evil but simply indiscriminate and lacking a sense of fairness. "The world" will never punish the unjust or reward the righteous, that is the sole province of man in Kite's mind.

For all the seemingly negative attributes the unusual situation has given Kite, the view of the world as arbitrary also caused him to develop an sort of classic stoicism: your role in the world is set and your purpose is to perform that role as best you are able. Considering his supernatural powers, Kite has regrettably determined that his role is likely to use them in order to combat dangerous people or the demons that abuse their own to inflict harm and loss on those who have no concepts of the reasoning for this(the idea that anyone is innocent would be laughable to Kite).

Additionally, because the world has bullied him, he has a extreme dislike of bullies. Ironic that with his abilities, he seems best suited to being one himself.

History -

Kite was born of two humans who died in a plane crash while traveling from Germany to Japan. The conclusion of the investigators was that the crash was a simple mechanical failure: the province of fate. At the time of their death, the woman was nine months pregnant, and from the wreckage, rescue crews were able to extract and recussitate the baby in her womb, who was thought initially to be a still born.

Kite grew up in the foster system in Japan, the recipient of a huge trust fund and a number of financial contracts to ensure the vast wealth of his family was inherited by the boy as he came into age. His spiritual powers manifested themselves early in the man’s boyhood, but he chose to ignore them. This continued until his years in high school, when he met an erudite man who served as the school’s kendo coach. This man taught the boy to face his nature, and forced him to use his powers by orchestrating a life and death situation against a demon that was rampaging in Tokyo.

Kite was not grateful, and tried to murder his mentor in a rebuttal.

Awakening

Initial Awakening - Undead

Undying
Whenever struck by a blow, Kite’s body demonstrates its ability to thwart corporeal harm. For each time it is struck, a level of resistance is acquired. Each level of resistance reduces the gravity of a wound by 1 level, and the effects can stack. Kite need not chose to expend the resistance at the time of the blow, and its availability continues through his release. May retain a maximum of three stacks, and gain only one per round.

Unyeilding - 15% Reiatsu/200 reiatsu
Tapping in to the other realm, between that of the living world and Soul Society, Kite can shift his body further into alignment with that mystical realm. The limits on Kite’s physical strength are lifted, to a degree. By paying the cost of Unyeilding, Kite enters a state of dominance over the physical world, becoming immune to physical forces that are equal to or weaker than his internalize. This would not stop a sword from cutting his body, but would allow him to halt flying cars or stand in topling buildings. For each time this cost is paid, the duration of the effect is 10 rounds.

Alternatively, Kite may pay 200 Reiatsu to manifest this as blunt force that can strike out at a distance up to 15 meters, carrying his magnified force with it. When used this way, for the remainder of the round the defensive benefits of Unyielding do not function.

Resonance - Undead - 500 Reiatsu per use
With a form no more bound to the physical world, Kite is able to push the capabilities of his body to a level to rival that of even a hollow’s vitality. By paying the cost of Undead, Kite’s body gains the ability to restore flesh lost and reverse damage done, reducing the severity of a wound by 1 degree, once per round.

True AwakeningAbomination

The Dead Cannot Die
With his body transcending the mortal realm in his True Awakening, corporeal harm holds next to no meaning to him. Any time Kite is struck by a blow, he may gain 2 levels of damage negation. He may chose to apply this to the attack at hand, reducing its level of damage by one degree per negation, or hold them in store for later. A maximum of four total levels may be held, and endure the length of the awakening. Otherwise this is similar to Undying.

The Dead Do Not Relent - 5% Reiatsu per Arm
By paying the cost of this ability, Kite’s body becomes adorned with a spectral arm. These arms are not visible to plain sight, and endure for the remainder of his release. They carry with them all the potency and skill of his ability in combat, and can extend up to a range of 20m. Up to two may be manifested at a time.

I Am Already Dead – 5% Reiatsu
Each round that Kite pays the cost of I Am The Dead, all wounds he has sustained decrease their severity by one level. This counts against his Fortitude Threshold.

OverdriveYou Are Dead, 2% cumulative
The final expression of his power, Kite has become a force beyond nature. He must pay the cost of his Overdrive each round, a steep price. However, for the price comes tremendous reward. While active, Kite is capable of nearly any feat of strength conceivable, toppling buildings, hurling tanks, and headbutting meteorites are all within the realm of possibility.

To maintain the ability, Kite must pay a cumulative 2% per round (2nd round 4%, 3rd round 6%, 4th round 8%, 5th round 10%, and so on).

Feats and Abilities

Unique - Strength Immaterial
Requires: 10,000+ Combat

Description: Kite's body belongs truly to the place between worlds, the time and space, if one can call it that, where souls are when transitioning from earth to Soul Society, or perhaps where wayward and lost spirits reside. As such, he has fewer restrictions of natural laws and ties to the world he somehow managed to remain upon. He is freakishly strong, so much so that his own power would tear apart his own body while using it, yet, his tremendous endurance allows for this exceptional display.

Effect: Kite's physical body is tremendously strong, in so much that it is beyond that even of an Advent Human's. This places him at about 1.5x the amount of a typical Advent Human at peak combat for their [Internalize] technique. Able to not just throw around a full sized van hard, but able to grapple with speeding trucks.

Unique - Clint Squint
Kite doesn’t lose focus on his target. Ever. This is problematic in that it leads to tunnel vision, but fortunate in that no amount of mental manipulation or obfuscation can make him lose lock on his target. This attitude is often accompanied by a condescending squint towards the soon to be victim.

In order to use Clint Squint, Kite picks a target in his visual range and 'locks on' to that target. No matter what, he is unable to lose focus and intent on that target and can ignore any techniques of obfuscation or manipulation to obstruct its presence, assuming that target in some way attacks or uses abilities on him in the round. The advantage of this is obvious, however, if Kite chooses to lock on to a target it may not be shifted until that target is incapacitated, destroyed, or dead. If that target is a clone/projection/phantom and so on the lock on applies to that duplicate, not the real user, which can lead to complications

Trained - Bitch Tactics

Description: It didn't take Kite long to realize that in the world of spiritual beings, there's something he really doesn't like: people who refuse to fight up close. Using the too common slang 'bitches', he has developed a technique to help mitigate against those who try to stay away. Despite his crude personality, this technique shows off his quite refined ability to manipulate spiritual energy. Kite can cross his arms before his body and generate a vectored shape barrier that peaks in the middle while angling out before his body. This barrier is short lived, as a tradeoff for power, especially against attacks that utilize range.

Effect: By paying 5% of his reiatsu, the barrier is created. Against attacks and abilities that start from out of melee range(Quincy arrows, guns, ranged kai attacks and so on), this barrier is 200% stronger, but regardless it only lasts for one round or until his arms uncross. This counts against his Fortitude Threshold.

Learning: Despite the crude nature of the original practitioner, this feat demonstrates an immense level of control over shaping and molding reiatsu. Any seeking to learn this technique must spend their time learning not only to hone the application of spiritual pressure in a manner akin to the Demon Arts, but further, come to understand (and thus hopefully thwart) the nature of offensive kidou and reiatsu based techniques. Most practically, this is done through a trial by fire.

Trained - Spirit Breaker *Not yet approved*

Description: This combat technique is used in order to overcome frustrating barriers and other hardened representations of spiritual power, such as the iron skin of arrancar and other fierce opponents. One channels a portion of their reiatsu into an attacking limb in order to shape a small 'spear head' construct about it. When the spear makes contact, they user the 'drills' the obstacle to attempt overcome or destroy it.

Effect: By paying 3% of their reiatsu, the user is able to fashion a means of doing greater damage to barriers and physical representations of spiritual pressure an enemy may use. This allows the user to apply 2x the cost of the feat against any barriers contacted, or, if striking the form of their opponent overcome one level of damage reduction.

Striking a barrier consumes the needed amount to overcome it, while striking a form does not diminish the power. Each round after use however, passively drains 1/3 of the Spirit Breaker's strength (or 1% of the user's reiatsu).

Items

Rank: S

Jormungand and Fenrir: 'Godhand'

Form: The weapons take the form of stout, fingerless oiled leather gloves with 'brass knuckles' fashioned of refined and reinforced titanium. On the back of each is a three chamber mechanism, constructed of precious fabricated metals from zanpakutou, that holds individual rounds. Underneath is a pressure lever that causes one of the shells to discharge upon impact. On the side of the lever is a bar mechanism that Kite can switch to act as a 'safety' for the weapon.

Effect: While the output of each shot is immense, at 3,000 reiatsu, the range of the discharge is extremely low, maxing at one meter regardless of the ammunition modification loaded. These 'bullets' are designed to discharge a moment after impact, and are in a scattershot configuration to inflict maximum damage after kite's raw strength has impacted whatever defenses are in the way.

Special Note: All ammunition used in the "God Hand" device must be configured Death Dealer shells, with the requisite cost.

Acquistion: A fabrication of the notorious Dr. "Dark" of Orpheus for his most interesting(latest) test subject. Classified intelligence reports can be accessed @ 306: RE: New Field Agent.

Rank: A
Death Dealer Shell

Form: The Death Dealer is a custom ammo shell designed for his unique 'shotgun' knuckledusters. It is an unusually large chamber which in reality is a hyper-capacitor for spiritual pressure, and has a modular head binding. This head binding allows for different styles of ammunition to be joined to the capacitor, but requires modification (and thus great expense). As such, it is only loadable into the custom fabricated chambers of the 'Godhand' device.

Effect: A base shell used to load Jormungand and Fenrir, with an output of 500. The head is designed to be modified by special ammunition properties. The only shell used by the weapon, it fires a dispersed round with a range of one meter.

Cost: 25,000₢ + the cost of any modifying ammunition. (a clip(3) of Lawbringer modded Death Dealers would cost 37,500₢)

Acquisition: The second part of Orpheus' R & D work on Kite and improving his destructive capabilities.
