Abnormal Abnormalities – [137/140]

-You know, I can be all, “Hey, I’m an ass,” about this, but there wasn’t really anything inherently wrong with your writing here. You came, you got promoted, you bashed people, threatened to kill them for insubordination, send a lovely scientist to the Seventh and general shits and giggles ensued.

-What you do, however, have to watch out for is punctuation... especially in your dialogue sequences, but instead of me hammering out all the errors you made I’ma leave this here and tell you to check and see what mistakes you made: http://teacherweb.com/CT/ScottsRidgeMS/Jennes/punctuating.pdf

-Also, make sure to proofread your turns please. You sometimes use a different word for what you mean, so watch out for that.

Insanely Institutionalized – [13/13]

-Seriously, only 252 words? That’s it? That’s not a lot, really. Haha.

-Also, you used the present tense of ‘scan’ in your writing were it should’ve been scanned. So, again... proofread and watch out for things like that.

-Aaaaand punctuation, but that seems to be a recurring problem in your writing, so we’ll have to work on that some time.

-It wasn’t enough to deduct points for, though, so have them all.

Take 75 Division Bonus with you as well.

[Sevelicious]

Fuel For Shits & Giggles – [87/90]

-Herro, dingdong: - blackened earth proudly wearing the battle scars of the unbelievable skirmish that had taken place here only months earlier
Love the sentence, only pet peeve here is the ‘here’ part. Here is present tense, but also meaning you, a first person viewer, are in the room. I could be wrong, of course, but it just sounded super weird to me. I dunno mang.

You have basically the same problem as Shade with your punctuation when it comes to dialogues. When you end a sentence with ‘he said/she said/etc’ you never end your actually dialogue with a PERIOD. You end it with either a COMMA or an EXCLAMATION or QUESTIONMARK.

Like such:

“Herro, good sir,” Jack said, rambling on for another hour or so.

The only time you’d use a period is when the sentence coming after the dialogue has nothing to do with it.

Like so:

“Herro, good sir.” Back straightened, Jack looked the man straight in the eye and sighed. “You’re not really imposing are you?”

-This: Sliding to a halt behind the Shinigami. A quintet of spent shell casings ejected from the side of it's strange blade as it rounded on the swordswoman.

Would be better as one sentence.

Like Such:

Sliding to a halt behind the Shinigami a quintet of spent shell casings ejected from the side of its strange blade as it rounded on the swordswoman.

OR SOMETHING HURR DURR

Also, Sevbro, it’s = it is, it’s =/= its. K?

-Sev, I found a whopping 42 cases of you using – in your writing. FORTY-TWO in less than 2k words is about 21 cases for 1k writing. That’s a lot man. I’m not gonna be an ass about it, but try to spice it up. There were instances when you had like five of those things in one 300 words paragraph.

-Other than that it was an enjoyable read, but for some reason I feel like this was, yet again, more of the same shinigami vs. Advent human banter. >_> But, meh, maybe I’m just cynical.

Bach’s Sixteenth Symphony of Shatterdness – [98/100]

-Get. Yer. Punctuation. Rite. Bro. Seriously.
-Overall, though, it was a nice, clean read. Plots were thickened, shit is starting to go down and GDI CERBERUS WE DUN WANT UR HELP. D:

Bach and his Concerts of Crumbling Chaos – [54/54]

-You know, I got into this thread thinking, “YEAH SHITS GONNA GO DOWN, DOWN, DOWN,” but when I posted, went to bed and woke up again... it was locked and I was all, “WTF JUST HAPPENED MANG?”

-So, yeah, I was confused about the sudden closure, but you held your end of the bargain really well so I’m not gonna bitch about anything, nor deduct any points.

Though I will say this, GET. YER. PUNCTUTATION. RITE. BRO.

Oh, and take 75 Division Bonus with you.

-Rob out.

PM Bonus has been applied to the subsequent grades.

Notes: As You all know PM's have started and with that comes bonuses for writing PM related material. There are a few things I would like to clarify. It is ok to create a NPC for a specific thread to join in on PM related material (where needed). What this means is that You may create or have one of your already existing NPC's in a thread, at the discretion of the author of the specified threads permission and only if you add something to the thread (ie interaction with the members and plot of the story). What I wont tolerate is a NPC showing up in a thread and spouting randomness with multiple NPCs you created to word whore. I will give you a grade, but it will not have the PM bonus and I will dock some serious points. If you are unsure, you can always ask me and I will further clarify. Other than that have fun and remember to PM me your writing til the end of PM's. Now on to grading.

Oh, Zab/unholy/Kago I wanna wrap that intro collab up by next week so be prepared as sene will make his appearance most likely today or tomorrow at the latest.

Threader

Ominous Warnings: (10/12)

A few punctuation errors especially in your first (and only) turn where there needed to be periods instead of commas. The last turn in the thread was not graded due to deadline as I heard that collab is actually closed and will resume this week. So save the turn and post in the new story.

Crippling Business: (48/53)

There were words that littered some of your sentences that did not need to be there. That and there were too many she's that littered your chapter. remember stick in some of those descriptive pronouns like you did later on in the chapter with "the enchanted swordsman." Tip: when you proofread, if you see the same word (refering to the she's) in your paragraph more than twice, replace it with another descirptor.

Cheese

Pictures thread: (14/14)

Appears this moved too fast for you, but no errors nonetheless :p

9th Thread: (57/57)

Again gewd writing, Bastien is peacekeeper... I may have task for you in the verry near future. Depends on availability during or after PM's.

Mewn

Ominous Warnings: (75/75)

I have no real complaints other than this thing being short, but that's less for me to read :p

All 12th: (46/46)

I like Yaname. And the line concerning measuring tape was an epic intrusion of the chaos in that thread. I wish Yukiko had got some air time in there u_u perhaps in the follow up.

Thread, Cheese, Mewn you may all have 50 Division Bonus

Alright. PM hunts are juuust on the horizon. I expect everyone to be smart and be active. My computer is down so yeah. Grades will have to be quick. Additionally, I’ll be travelling for the next two days with yet-to-be-determined internet connection for the week after that. So yeahhh.
Kagoo
Sene and Kago's Bromance
Have fun in the 8th. I'm still curious as to why Kago deserted during PMs and perhaps one day you'll write enough to tell me. :3
[57/57]

Drag
A Big Problem
Nothing inherently wrong with what you wrote. There were certain points in this collab that felt a little clunky however, kind like you needed to put the meat in the grinder a few more times before making the hamburger patty. It’s nothing too major though, just little things like this:
you said:
If it had not been for the two of them, the folks of the town wouldn’t probably be able to put a stop to it.
that seem a little awkward when read aloud.
[120/126]

12th Div PM collab
I felt like you did a good job of writing Eiji in this thread. I thought it was funny seeing Eiji try to take charge despite the fact he wasn’t really all that older than the people he was ordering around. I already like the dynamic between him and Igasho (not really sure why though) and look forward to reading how the two of you take care of your target.
[159/159]

9th Div PM
I swear, it took me like 20 minutes to find your turns. Writing is fine a susual except for a few typos and miscues like:
This is order from the top brass, so just wait here until I call you okay?

There should an “an” between is and order. Simple little mistakes here or there, but other than that, it’s fine. One more thing, did you forget that you posted in the collab or something? Because your plot just randomly ended.
[40/45]

9th Div Intro
You introduced yourself. And that’s about it. Once again, I feel like you just forgot that you were in this collab.
[7/7]

Mitsu
Spectatorship of a fight....
You watched a fight, you though things about it, you left. Big woot. Spectating is the cheapest way to get points and I often discourage it because yeah, the spectator does absolutely nothing.

Your writing in general has progressed but you still have errors pockmarking your writing every so often like
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU said:
Was that human really this crazy to enrage a shinigami this much that she actually released bankai?

which works better as
MEEEEEE said:
Was this human really crazy enough to enrage a shinigami enough to make her release her bankai?
or something like that.

Anyways.
[18/23]

9th Div intro thread
I applaud you for actually showing up to the 9th division intru thread with your actual character rather than with a random NPC. A lot of times, people use these threads to introduce random quirky NPC guy who they’ll promptly forget about until PMs during which they suddenly become Captain Badass, You however did so while also pushing your character into the interdivisionary picture. Once again, watch for typos.
[28/31]

Picca’s Picture thingydoohickymabobber
I liked this collab. Your writing here, though, for whatever reason is far clunkier than elsewhere this week. Not sure why though.
you said:
But he wonder a little that he was not able to find any embarrassing photos of the Soutaichou, looks like even Picca feared the wrath of the mightiest man in the Soul Society, or she just hid them really good and did not put them in this scrapbook.

Things like this are a little bit of a headscratcher. It’s a run-on sentence and also has a couple of grammatical pitfalls lurking within it ready to gobble up and unsuspecting grader. Additionally, the verb tense in this sentence isn’t consistent with the rest of the collab, or the rest of your turn for that matter.
[40/50]

12th DIV PMathon
Same problem as with your other work this week. Awkward phrasing in some spots, misplaced words, and typooz. In terms of your character’s interaction with the rest of his division, I thought it was pretty good. Since you’ve been clab whoring with Tod and Mewn, it would make sense that you would know them the best.

You do have the tendency to have the occasional spazz turn where your char winds up asking like four questions in one, 100 word turn, to which I say, “Calm the eff down.” It’s not a race. Try asking one or two questions at a time. It makes it easier on your fellow rpers.
[145/152]

Tod
Toys that Bite Backackackack
PROOFREAD!!!!
You’re anything but a bad writer. You just wind up shooting yourself int he foot with really stupid mistakes! “What mistakes?” you ask. Mistakes like this:
You said:
He found himself looking at a giant tree in the center of the swamp and instantly guessed where it was the he had been sent.

I’m assuming you meant to have a word between “the” and “he”. WTF brah, stop killing my buzz. On the plus side, you did capitalize Mist Fox this time around, so hurrah.

The ending left me a little flat but maybe that’s just because I’m not a fan of the Harry Potter type endings where dude wakes up in bed and Dumbledore tells him about awesome stuff that happened after he passed out.

[134/142]

12th Div PM thread
You were barely in this. :( Yeah. Anyways, your writing was relatively clean in this setting, but- BUT- I must implore you to proofread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a point here where you forget to capitalize another character’s name and other errors just as obvious as that one. I know how things work. You have like five minutes to post a turn so you slap some words together and plop them down. That’s great and all but unless you check to make sure that chicken you put in your salad is cooked all the way, little Jimmy’s going to get dysentery!!!!!!!!! Yup. Yup.

Proofrawr plzzz.
[50/56]

Dragu, Mits, Tod: You all get 25 points of Div Bonus.

Cadmus
Welcome back. I expect you’ll be showing up more than once in a blue moon now. Now onto the grawrding.

Picca’s Picture Delite
Igasho seems perfectly out of place here. Didn’t do much here so not much to say.
[6/6]

12th Div PM Fest
Good writing. I like how Igasho naturally winds up taking charge of the chaos and stuff while also caring about the kid’s feelings and stuff like that. Looks like Tsuneo was right in that weird convoluted poisoning everyone plot from a year or so back, Igasho did deserve to be the vice captain. Anyways, I really look forward to reading your writing again and I am definitely interested in where your hunt with Drag goes.
[128/129]

75 Div Bonus for you to get you back up and roaring.

And on that note, if any of you still keep in touch with any of our former 12thies (liek Manik, Joel, Fall, Rose, hell, even Zerry) who aren’t active for one reason or the other (They forgot, eaten by a bear, ate some gnarly shrooms, crashlanded on the island from Lost), why not see if they’ll rejoin? Tits wants to build up an army of assassins to do stuff and things like that. Hell, if you know people not in the RP that could conceivably join, why not point them along this path? :3 Maybe there will even be a prize*

*There is a 99% chance of there being no prize.

BONUS GRADAGE:

Okay, so wow… Ya’ll just go about and slam me with the most open klab reading thar be? Mmkay I see how it is. I got something for y’all. Just wait and see. Just wait.

Ye’ may not like it, but it’ll come to ye’s.

Any who~, You all wrote, and you all participated. That’s good in my books. Now for quality inspection, though. I’m gonna break this down all easy like, but if I missed anything you PM me and let me know.

I didn’t see any real problems with writing or flow for all the open klabs. A lot of chaos, and disagreements with characters, but that’s all me stuff.

AH Threads
Lil 32/32
Bob 26/26
Grif 18/18

I'm not gonna break these down into separate things cuz they're happening simultaneously. The first thing I wanna say about these threads is wow. Just simply wow. With the Orph thread there was really smooth transition (and it might have had something to do with everyone on a cell phone) from one person to the next. I honestly thought I was watching something. It was coordinated and exciting. And I want more.

Cerb thread showed a bit more of the human side, despite them all being the spiritual awakened sort. There was a lot of tension and frustration between all the characters. I gotta say, y'all did real good on these ones.

Fin ~ 197/197 ~
Fire 100/100

Bit of an odd way to end these chaps, but just my opinion. There were minor spelling errors and the usual stuff people get snagged for, but otherwise decent read. Nice way to take out your bad guy though. Now what happened to that gun….

Nell ~ 238/242 ~
Heart 72/73
Problem 123/126

Alright, so you chapter I enjoyed. There wasn’t too much wrong with it so not to worry. There were errors, however. For instance, you have a tendency to use the wrong past tense word in your sentences, or forget a word to give it the proper tense. An example would be:

She breathed heavily and leaned on the futon, her eyes fixated on the clean white sheets.

Properly written it would be “Her breathing was heavy as she leaned on the futon,” or “She was breathing heavily and leaning on the futon.” Small things like that will have a big impact on your writing, so please watch carefully to your word choices. The only other thing I can ask for out of your writing is more description of your characters or more descriptive words for your characters. Reading that chapter was smooth and easy but I only know the color of Rei’s eyes.

Your klab with Drag… I don’t know if it’s just in collabs where it shows more, and this is a problem with your chaps too, but you’re still telling me what happens versus showing me what happens to Rei. Your collab was harder to read. You and Drag had a nice back and forth between turns, but there was a lack of … well life in your writing. I’ll keep a closer eye on your writing to see if I can’t pick out things to improve on, until then just have fun improving your style and writing ^_^

Side note: Be careful with how you write casting spells. At one point you cast two spells in succession. You used full incantations, so I’m hesitant to call that double casting. That’d be something you need Mahoubai to do, and if I remember correctly you only have the Signature of the Te-- *cough* First as a division technique.

Lil~ 143/143 ~
Nice use of kan. Videl is a ... *cough*

Bob ~ 103/103 ~
Guardian 77/77

Well what can I say? The collab was fun to do, and I look forward to many more. The only errors that happened were ones we weeded out before posting the chap. Mainly word choices and an odd mis-type here or there. Aside from that I’m glad we pulled that off.

Dips ~ 66/66 ~
All I saw from you was the Pics klab. Anything else didn’t look finished.

A Big Misunderstanding (52/57)

For a chapter written after a long time away from HD this was really good. On the positive side you've introduced Alistair's character effectively with this scene by pointing out his aggression, cockiness and general ability to cause mayhem. There were some funky comma splices here and there but for the most part the mechanics were fine. All I would point out is that every time a character speaks (in HDland) you need to put that on a separate line. I know that isn't standard practice but I guess in this RP it makes reading easier. That is mostly why I docked you points. However you can take all the div. bonus.

Val

Ominous Warnings (17/17)

Short turns are short but they got the job done!

Hare

A Guardian to a Gardener (77/77)

You, sir, did a good job here. I like the interplay between Asuna and Lucas. There is hinting at things to come and Asuna's character, despite only being around a short time in the collab, is nicely fleshed out. I also like your writing of Lucas and the gang when you had to do so. There are not really any errors grammar or punctuation wise that I can harp on.

For Great Pictures (72/72)

Ogod! This was hilarious. I love Hare's reactions to the madness of Ayumu, the lulz of his flailing about and knocking stuff over and the general entertainment of the whole thing. Good work!

Raph

Insanely Institutionalized (13/13)

Well, well hello Rensha! I haven't got anything else to add other than short turn is short.

For Great Pictures (11/11)

Heeere's Rensha x 2. Also nothing else to add.

Ominous Warnings: (16/16)

Arano's always the boss! Good work on keeping him the boss until he's "taken care of".

Thana

Ominous Warnings

A Cameo appearance by Colin! Not much else to say here. You popped in, posted once and left. While I'm not accusing you of using your NPCs needlessly, do take into account Will's post on NPC use during these PMs. If you're going to break him out for the Cerberus portion of the plot, try to post consistently and be plot-coherent.

30/32

A Crumbling Concert of Chaos

As with above, you broke out an NPC, posted once and that was the last we saw of you. I don't blame you since both threads were closed rather hastily, but I am curious as to why you're involving Ayako in TNK plots more than Orpheus; you think we would have called her in for this >.>;;

18/18

And take 50 Division Bonus for being the only one to send me links.

Van

Small Things; The Final Part

An Interesting chapter. Tales of gallantry with Theron no less? Sorry, but he doesn't really strike me as the heroic type. Frankly, I find him to be the most villainous of all the captains >.>;;
That aside, this was a good read. I'm not sure what relevance this little trip down memory lane has to your plot, but I'm sure I'll find out (provided I keep grading you).

Get some PM stuff up! D8 We're a week in already man!

83/83

And 50 Division Bonus 'cuz why not?

I don't have many comments for these two collabs since they were each like six pages I just skimmed them for your posts. I will add comment if I get time to really read em tomorrow. EoD the fouth
Okay, I enjoyed the way Kyu is really giving off a sense of desperation and borderline hopelessness about a clearly traumatic event. I appreciated how his NPC came and helped return his rosy demeanor and literally let the light into the darkness which was nicely accentuated by her opening the windows to his dark room.

This being said there were some things that threw me in reading. Early on you mention that he had boarded up his windows but when Fuko opens them she just flicks the latch. Maybe you simply meant to write that he had shuddered his windows or I'm taking boarded to literally.

There were a couple of odd wordings shortly after Fuko entered such as:

Everything was pitch-black as the sound of him picking up a book was the only thing heard in the background. Fuko tried to peer through, but the dimness inside was simply far too impregnable. By memory, she recalled where the windows were and made her way there.

Where as: Everything was pitch-black with the sound of him picking up a book the only thing to be heard in the background. Fuko tried to peer through, but the dimness inside was simply far too impregnable. By memory, she recalled where the windows were and made her way toward them.

This happened a couple more times right in this area but afterward became fine, not errors per se but the sentences just read oddly to me. After this the dialiogue became excellent and I am looking forward to seeing Kyu go through whatever trials he must to reclaim his powers.

Abnormal Abnormalities - Nice job keeping up with stuff despite all the people in on this, i enjoyed reading Serizawa's 'views' on Feng [113/113]

Insanely Institutionalized - Some amusing comments, that again seem to get lost in the number of people, shame really... [50/51]

For Great Pictures - Good interactions and stuff [30/30]

Common Places - An interesting insight into how SS nobles sometimes see each other, plus a new div member for you :D [57/57]

That's all from me folks, holler if I missed anything. Tom out.

Since Tits is travelling and couldn’t grade you in time, I’m here.

Cur

[11th] Week 193: Conclusion...The Master – 249/251

Was a good read, I like the way you built the fight up. Even though I’ve never read anything from your character before, this made me a little curious. He seems quite interesting. Not much else to say other than a few small errors (an apostrophe too much, a missing letter or an extra word here and there). The flow went by good and there were no stops that confused me. Just a quick proofread could’ve fixed that really (I know that most of us are lazy with that).

Third Division 'Be the . . .' breakdown

Garg - nothing. Weak.

K-chap: 2 chaps, and some PM lets dig in.

Iron Sights - 115/117; A few parsing errors or misplaced words, but all in all a decent chapter. The meat of it, Isamu coming to Shingo in order to accuse him of failures in his past, choices poorly made perhaps, was well worth reading.

Devil's Island - 210/211; Just caught 2 small errors when reading it over. All in all, this was an entertaining read, and nothing made me smile more then when Primo set off the explosives. Only could have been more satisfying if Cabral was blown up by them in the escape.

Open 12th - 110/110; (PM bonus already applied) Not going to say much about this, when the call for NPCs is made, though, try and be sure to stick it through. The character seemed consistent enough from what small glimpse we got of him.

+150 DB to you, for firing off some writing with style.

Tets - 221/221; (PM bonus already applied) Open 12th. Good job stepping up and making the PM mojo happen, as well as getting the recruitment drive for 12thers on. Making things happen is worth the full grade in my book, keep it up.

I’m going to do something a bit differently with the abundance of open collabs this week.

[PM] Abnormal Abnormalities
Overall comments: Apparently the dysfunctional aspects of captains’ meetings have rubbed off on the rank and file. I can’t really say that that’s a good thing.
Trio: [110/112]
-You’re the voice of reason as always, albeit an internal voice of reason this time around.
-There wasn’t much to complain about, just a typo here and there.
Miho: [80/90]
-There were some instances here where it felt like a word was left out on accident. Make sure you read over your turns to make sure you have everything in the best possible condition. Careless mistakes are a cheap way to lose points.
-Continue to work on your tenses: ‘…he was starts’ should simply be ‘he started.’
-Since the issue of NPC use has been brought up, I’ll tie it in here from some things I noticed in this collab and past open collabs. It’s one thing if you bring an NPC into a thread (plot mission or otherwise) and that NPC contributes to the movement of the task at hand. It’s another if you find your character doing little more than summarizing what is going on in the thread and/or interacting/speaking with another character that is also controlled by you. One of your largest turns in this thread was basically a back and forth conversation with yourself. This kinda defeats the purpose of collaboration.

-I’m kinda glad the “goddess” label did not continue beyond the first post.
-There were several typos scattered throughout. As I mentioned for Miho, careless mistakes like typos are a lame way to lose points. Proofreading is your friend.

-Typos
-When you said ‘draw-lucky’ in one of your turns I’m thinking what you were looking for was ‘draw-happy.’

-Proofreading is important. There were instances of missing words, duplicated words, etc. Word can’t be relied on for everything. Manually reading over your turns for simple errors after you’re done works wonders and prevents you from losing points unnecessarily.
-Dang, what did Shouta ever do to Akako to deserve a knee to the stones?
-In one of your turns you used the word ‘men’s.’ In the context of that sentence, ‘men’ is the appropriate word. The same goes for ‘women’s’ vs. ‘women.’
-Be careful with your indefinite articles. Since you are talking about a specific division (the 12th), the appropriate article would be ‘the.’

-Getting kneed in the nuts at a division meeting…that’s a new one.

-Wow, did Seiko always feel so strongly towards Mizuki, or is this because of recent events outside of the fourth wall? Just wondering, lol.

-Watch out for the use of ‘quiet’ vs. ‘quite.’ You tend to use ‘quite’ when what you need is ‘quiet.’ Considering that I’ve seen you use ‘quite’ correctly within the same collab, I’ll just chalk it up to a reoccurring typo.
-When speaking of protective eyeware, ‘goggle’ in the singular form is not correct, ‘goggles’ is. Word would not pick up on this mistake because ‘goggle’ means to stare in a wide-eyed fashion.
-Continue to reference and study those links provided in the past when you write. Doing so should have various rules of thumb fresh in your mind and should help you to continue to improve some of your reoccurring errors.

-I meant to make an appearance in this thread, but something or another came up. Lame, I know.

-As mentioned before, watch your indefinite articles.

-What’s so hard about posting a word count? D:<
-PM me a word count and I’ll edit with a grade.

Hack and Slash
Overall comments: This was a quick and dirty training session, honestly, those are the best kind. If something can be done in a compact collab, go for it, no need to make it overly verbose. Both participants had clean writing for the most part, though for Ish in one of your turns it felt like there was a word missing.

[PM] A Crumbling Concert of Chaos

Speaking of quick and dirty, this was perhaps a bit too quick. Though considering when the thread started, perhaps quick isn’t the best way to describe this thread after all…
