Backfiring Weaponry – [11/23]

-Okay, I very much planted my face inside the back of my palm on this collaboration you burst into. I realize that you had to, because of how the PMs are going and I think you did a great job making sure they couldn’t assassinate that poor guy, but listen: don’t forget to proofread.

At first I just wanted to show you some errors, but then I realized there were errors sprinkled throughout the entire two of your turns. ERRORS. IN. TWO. TURNS. Tsk, tsk, Shade. I say, “Tsk, tsk.”

Shinigami Down – [105/110]

-Okay, this one was relatively clearer than your other collaboration, but you still have a lot of errors sprinkled throughout your writings… especially when it comes to ending dialogues.

If what comes after the dialogue is explaining how someone said given dialogue you end it with a comma, and no capitalization of the first letter after the dialogue like so:

“Why are you doing this?” she spoke as if she wasn’t expecting an answer.

If what comes after the dialogue has nothing to do with explaining how someone said given dialogue you end it with a period, and start the new sentence with a capitalized first letter like such:

“I… excuse me?” Placing his hands in front of him, the young man stared at them for a while. They weren’t that big, were they?

If you find yourself in a bind because your dialogue ends with either an exclamation point, or a question mark… refer back to the above. Does it tell you how the person said the dialogue? If yes, start the new sentence without a capitalized letter. If not, do what the Romans do.

Anywho, to celebrate you writing, take 100 Division Bonus with you.

Cadypan

Worst Retirement Home Ever – [152/156]

-In yer twentieth post, you wrote: “He looked her up and down and sucked at his teeth, “Yeah I’ll help ya.”
The comma here is not necessary, especially since you’ve already used two different versions of ending, or starting a dialogue with commas.

As a general rule, if it doesn’t explain how someone said it, or with what kind of voice… don’t use a comma to lead it in.

-It was clean for the most part and I enjoyed the fact that Belexar made quite the fool out of himself, again, and that Ishin was all “Herp derp,” on you guys. A fitting title, I should say, lol. I have to admit, though, all these Twelfth bounties… ugh, so confusing.

Saints and Sinners – [64/65]

-You know, your title made me think of Pale Blue Dot by Story of the Year - where the lyrics go something like this: “Every saints and sinners in the history of our species.” Yeah…
-Anywho… first sentence of your very first chapter and I run into this: If I you won’t help me, I’ll do this alone.

So… what is this I don’t even? If I you? Get rid of that I next time, please.

-Ooooooh, mystique and general confusing ensues within my mind. I thought this was a nice and somewhat spiffy set of chapters. Not sure if this is a prologue kind of thing, or if this is already somewhere halfway through your work, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Backfirign adasdasdad – [36/36]

-Nothing to see here, carry on.
-No, but I didn’t see anything inherently wrong so I’m not going to be bitching about you only having written two turns, just like my shadypoo. Oh well, enjoy your 36 pointsu, sir.

Also, take the rest – 50 – of the Division Bonus with you, you’ve earned it.

…Or something.

Busy week for the 12th – it’s nice to see the activity!

Tod
Retirement Package (264/264):
There were a few spelling and punctuation errors but nothing that detracted from the flow of the story. Content-wise, you played Daichi very well. His actions and reactions flowed as if he were a PC that you had experience playing and your use of techs in response to the attacks was excellently timed, too.

Teaching (188/190):
Again, there were just a few punctuation and grammatical errors but it wasn’t very distracting. I have to say, I really enjoy your style of writing and I think the comfort with which you write makes it fun and easy to read. I like the little thing that’s starting up between Tod and Yaname…I’m really interested to see where that could go later. As far as the bounty, don’t be seen unless it’s necessary . See my note to Mistu below.

Mitsu

Teaching (271/279)

There are minor typos here and there but the main reason that I had to deduct some points was the grammar. English is a tough language to learn and execute well, especially when writing. It would be worth-while to have a friend read through you posts and help edit because some of your phrasing is awkward and interrupts the flow of your writing. On that note, you do have a good sense of story development and character play. Although the choice on how to approach this mission can be debated, Mitsuhito is written well and I like how he stays in character/keeps lying to Maski.

Note about Mark of the Hunted: The mark is attained by succumbing to a series of injections. It is assumed that the cocktail is consisted of the same ingredients each time. If each person that has attained MotH is receiving the same poisons, then the marks that assassins would give each other would be the same substance that is already in their own bodies - hence, the mark would not affect a person who already has it in their body. However, IF the cocktail is different each time or IF MotH becomes unique to each person based on its adaptation to the host, THEN the idea would work. Let’s assume the latter but use the prior argument as a lesson: Talk about these things ahead of time if it isn’t clear. We have to assume one way or the other because our tech isn’t clear on the details but if you use an ability like this and it doesn’t work properly, it could really backfire on you so communication is key! (Disregard if you already spoke to someone ahead of time .)

-100 points for injecting each other with a poisonous substance that leaks your reiatsu.
+100 points for creativity.

Backfiring Weaponry (176/176):

Grunt at the gate is grunt at the gate. Cool kai idea to go with the big guy. You could try to use other descriptors instead of using ‘he’ or ‘Satoshi’ (same applies to your other writings) to keep your references to you character colorful. Aside from the things I had mentioned above, good writing.

Twisted Worlds (86/89):
The English monster has attacked again! I hate to take off deserved points but the grammar did interrupt the flow of the text several times. Rather than give specific examples here, I’ll just reiterate that you can ask someone to help you edit your work. You have an awesome story here, with a really cool set of inner spirits, a good description of fighting and very interesting flow of plot. Mitsuhito’s personality really seems to fit well with the nature of his inner spirits – it looks like a good match.

Dragon

Disappointment (109/111)
Who’s the lady friend?! And although reiatsu cloaking bends light around you, it would be difficult to extend that technique to hide a rope. So, unless you were REALLY close together, a janitor somewhere probably saw a floating rope and had a heart attack. Had to deduct a couple points for grammar and punctuation – in particular, be careful with the word ‘But’. It shouldn’t begin sentences and it doesn’t get along with commas. BUT, there was no disappointment with this read!

Edit: No grade for Insane Comedy. Speak with Will and Nella about your options for continuation or starting over.

45 division points to Drag and Tod and 60 division points to Mitsu for being super active this week.

Our Legacy - A non-cheerful Makoto enters? That's just not right. Anyway, you came in, you talked, you watched, not much I can say really [60/60]

That's all from me, holler if I missed anything. Tom out.

Okay, here's the Beaks-is-tired-as-all-fuckout-grade-breakdown.

Al - Short Chat - Right away I noticed a couple parts where you omitted a word or two, which doesn't sound like a big deal but can make a sentence like this:

"He had found her sitting in the pouring on a large rock near a spot he liked going on the Templar grounds in order to think."

Rather hard to follow unless you know what the writer meant already. (Missing word: Rain, or a synonym) All that aside, I really did like the interactions between Zak and Miya in this one, especially after she starts pushing his buttons about the recent Lesser/Greater events. All in all you have a good contrast both in dialogue and writing style between these two, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more of ZakeMiya in the future.

Our Legacy (22/22)

Really - so short that it hasn't got much to say about it. Good writing.

Quirky Personalities (52/52)

I am feeling uncommenty so I will just say that your characters' interplay was excellent and the turns flowed together nicely.

This was an interesting collab. This was the first time I had actually read your work properly. I saw no punctual mistakes, though I will admit. I did not enjoy this as much I thought. I have never been fond of NPC/NPC collabs, and all your turns were... for lack of a better word. Spazzy. That might be your style and that's fine, but it made it difficult for me to read.

[Finny] 117/117 Total

A room with a view 67/67
This was an interesting read to say the least. I really enjoyed the interaction between Picca and Lucia. This might have been the first time I had read your work as well. Some of your dialogue made me take a double look. I understand it is how she speaks, but when you can't hear it and only see it, makes it a little difficult to figure out what she was saying... like ... dinnae.

Wonderful yet odd 255/257 (I used a Collab Bonus for us and already applied it)
This was a fun collab to write with you. You have a good style of writing that makes working with you and reading your stuff fun. However, I know English is not your first language and you have a few weirdly worded sentences. I caught most of them when we were writing, but I stopped to see if you would get them. Also remember when you're writing non-dialogue text, do not use contractions.

Reflections on the water 503/505 (Katie had mentioned she was using a Collab Bonus, so I added that in)
This was a cute collab with Katie. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Though you had a few of the same mistakes as I mentioned above. So just keep an eye out for those and you're golden. They are not so bad that it takes away from the quality so it is definitely something you do not need to stress over. Still an A+ overall.

Teaching a teacher 122/124

It was not a bad read. Good writing overall, just a few poorly worded sentences, just reread what you write and try to catch them all. You're a grown man and I do not think I need to point out all your mistakes. I did not take off too many points, if it was really bad then I would have.

[Mango] 271/271 Total
Taishuu Practical: Our Legacy 246/246
You evil, evil woman. I mean really... how many heart strings did you yank on Sayis. I highly enjoyed this entire thing and there is a SECOND part. Really? All I can say is good luck. I did not notice anything glaring when I read your work. You have always had pretty damn good writing. Just hurry and finish this so I can call you "Cap'n Ma'am" officially. I say this... reading it, despite how much I like your writing. I was not very thrilled at all. In the end it still was you vs Sayis which you have done plenty of times, even if Hare was on your team. I am looking forward to the second part which is hopefully more enjoyable.

+25 Div Bonus

Taishuu Practical: Our Legacy 241/241
I'm sorry that you got wrecked so thoroughly. It was a fun read on your part as well. No glaring issues either, so nothing to remove points from. If you care read what I mentioned on Mango's part to see how I felt on the whole fight.

+25 Div Bonus

[Will] 325/355 Total
Taishuu Practical: Our Legacy 335/335
No issues here, good writing. Sayis being the overly powerful leader of the Gotei as usual. Read what I said about the fight up on Mango's section. I will add however, this was just a waste of time in my eyes, I am sure it was meant for other things and there was a real reason for this. But it seemed more to me as a meeting with friend and showing them that as captain they will face overwhelming odds. and for Sayis to flaunt his power once more. No offence.

[Vent]
Blanche et Blanque 272/277

These were an interesting read, you seem to have an issue with tenses. In several places you go from past to present to past. As well as a few oddly worded or placed words. You need to proofread a bit better and watch out for those tenses.

Nobody wrote! What is this nonsense? All I have to grade is Beaks! Shame on you, Orpheus. Shame on you.

Beaks:

A Game of Phones

Ohoho. I see what you did there. An interesting piece, to say the least. There weren't any glaring errors but the formatting towards the end was a little hard to look at. I'm confused as to the overall relevance to the plot (seeing as it was marked PM material) but since I'm not that savvy to the Shinigami side of things I suppose that's understandable. Overall it was a well-written chapter and a good read. Kudos.

Our Legacy

Tsubaki's pretty cocky isn't she? This was a pretty glorious collab if only because it was funny to see Sayis lay the smack down on you. Other than that, it was pretty cut-and-dry. You played your part.

121/123

And no writing from me this week, Bob. That's all!

Connections (53/53):

lol plagiarism... I should dock points just for using that word so loosely in this chapter :p (kidding). I had no issues with your writing and therefore you get full points.

You may take 75 of the D Bonar. PS I did FINALLY find that link. It was buried in my email. I will get you a turn tomorrow along with katie's turn, tonight I will be busy so, no can do...

Reflections (253/253):

Lol when I read “just a collaboration” I thought geez katie is giving me a break, UNTIL I clicked the link to find a 10k collab... Luckily for you I enjoyed reading it :3 I spy a name drop of your beloved captain, (I heard he is the nicest of all the other captains).

You may take 75 of the division bonus. PS so sorry I been slow with turns I had a busy week and a craving for video games when I got home. But I will pick back up on our collab tomorrow, promise. Hopefully we can get it done for this week, but I will be speedy with turns. (as speedy as PM's allow me to be) Interpretation: PM turns will take priority in order to not slow down the plots for others.

A Hunting we will go (257/257):

I was informed that this was over as such you get a grade for it. I am glad I sent you to the 13th as I am afraid this collab might not have gotten enough substance. Thank you for contributing to the plot.

Geno

A Hunting we will go (145/145):

I have not an issue with your writing... I am happy and at the same time sad that this was not a bit longer.

Hawk

A Hunting we will go (85/85):

A small mishap with some punctuation, but overall better improvement on your writing.

Cheese

A Hunting we will go (35/35):

CHEESE!!! rite moar! Questioning why I would send someone to halp joo >:(

Van

Taishuu (114/114):

You came you saw, you acted a damn foo... j/k. I was rather shocked by Theron's intentions and even more shocked by my own character hopping in between two captains that could otherwise decimate him on a tag team and even solo basis (maybe). I found this taishuu to be one of the more entertaining ones to not only read but participate in as well. I hope part two can live up to this one.

If I missed anything, please PM me.

REMEMBER TO LINK ME YOUR WRITINGS UNTIL PM's ARE DONE.

The team work in this collab was pretty good. It’s encouraging to see officers work so well together for a common goal *cough*takenotecaptains*cough*. Everyone had a few typos here and there, so make sure you’re looking over your turns before and after you post them. Miho, continue to work with your indefinite articles. Use ‘the’ when referring to a specific person, place, or thing that has already been identified at some point or another. Use ‘a’ when speaking of something that has not been identified.

Catching Up, Part IV & V: [149/150]
-I’m glad that Akio was able to find closure for the situation that ripped his family apart and forgiveness for his brother.
-So wait, that was it? Akio has bankai? Or is this one of those “not so fast, my friend” moments? Either way congrats for getting the ball rolling at last!
-In both chapters there were a few sneaky typos, you know, the type of stuff that Word wouldn’t catch like correctly spelt incorrect words.

[Hiren]
A Room with a View (collab w/ Finny): [66/67]
-“The roffle tower?” Enough said.
-This was a light interaction between two of the more…eccentric members of the Gotei 13. It was well written for the most part, although, again there were some sneaky typos hiding out in a few of your turns.

Menu Basics: [49/50]
-I caught your note about the funky format malfunction…there were a lot more than one missed.
-Hmm, interesting. Lucia doesn’t know who her father is? I’ll definitely be waiting for her mother’s response.

Long Overdue Quirky Personalities (collab w/ Rawb): [51/15]
-Honestly, I was kind of disappointed that this was not an actual psych eval. It would have been hilarious.

[Wolfie + Ish]
Show Me Yo Moves: [127/129]
-The content here was a good read, though the editing was not as good. There were capitalization issues (specifically ‘I’) in a several of Ish’s turns, also some you’re/your confusion. But I’ll chalk that up to a typo as I do believe you know the difference.

3rd division "FUINTERNET" breakdown

K-chap - PM bounty 194/194; I've nothing but good things to say about this: you wrote a good NPC and contributed meaningfully to a collab that will impact several character's development and future. Rock on. +100 DB for representing.

Bobu - 119/129; A few mistakes like: "Are you with the Tenth Division. ". And:

"He did not see where she had
gone or what she was doing, but he knew where"

Those kinds spoil the flow bigtime for me, so be sure and have either yourself, or your posting partner proofread and fix those types of errors.

Also, giving the benefit of the doubt on the emoness Lucas is going through. He says he's becoming a man without feelings, and yet obviously he's experiencing acute grief. The Van never feels sadness, so he can't relate if that's really just an oversight on Lucas's part or not.

PM bounty: 91/91; Like I said in k-chap's review, you guys did good work here. +50 DB to you sir.
