This was a good chapter, and the sleazy atmosphere was excellent. I like how Apollo's recklessness seems tempered by Aeneas. Getting context on his search for the demvir is also kind of nice. There's not a whole lot more to say here except the continued characterization is great.
However, following along the train of thought from the last chapter, the idea that Astylos has eyes all over the world and that both Apollo and Aeneas believe he has that kind of sway and power, is ludicrous. We're talking about an arms dealer in Terminus, and even someone like a mafia don has a limited range of influence. I'll buy that time in the Arx may have Apollo feeling vulnerable under his bravado, but if leaving Terminus is an option, he could very easily get away, start up a new life in Prenditus or even Boreas, or really anywhere on Secare or Aridus besides Excelsa. I feel like you had a stronger hold on the motivation when Apollo's mindset was more, "this is a bad idea, but I'm not gonna let them see me bleed" than "I have to make nice with these guys because they run everything from the shadows."
I could be misreading where this is going, but it really seemed to swerve on me.
