Well Sayis surely molded that one well, he thought to himself, looking to the amazon's backside as she went through the senkaimon. His cool blue eyes surveyed each member in the Eighth that was assigned to this mission. First, the female with the circular frames came into as she too stepped into the magical gateway.

Let's hope you've had more practice with the division technique I taught you. Although this is a surveillance mission, we are going into Hueco Mundo which is still littered with hollows. But either way, you should be prepared for such an encounter if the situations call for combat.

Seitaro then settled his sights on Udo. A unsettling expression befell his face as he was unsure what to think after his first encounter with the young man... brat?

Udo, lets hope what they say about first impression is incorrect. I would hate for our second encounter to be one where I would strip you of your rank and discipline you for insubordination or trouble making.

Finally his eyes rolled over his shoulders and in the direction where Adelaide once stood.

The captain made a wise choice to keep her out of Hueco Mundo for the time being. Her strength is progressing rather swift, but she is not ready for the dangers that lurk within the sunless realm.

Ayame will be on bathroom duty for a week if the captain ever finds out she messed up the poor girl's name in that letter...

He turned a brief stare on the senkaimon and said, “Well I guess I better get going.”

With Adelaide sent away, and Seitaro and Shizuka on the other team, Udo was left as the only member of the Eighth Division on the second team. The weight of responsibility to represent his division was surely put on the wrong shoulders. Just to make the situation worse, the pink-haired man who had a go at him earlier was on his team. The spaceblade could only hope there would be some hollows to distract their attention from him, because at this rate things would keep getting worse and worse. As his team traversed the gap between Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, Udo quietly slipped through the gate without making a sound.

[111/1587] FINAL

"Well thank goodness, for a minute there I was getting worried this whole mess was going to be easy." Jin let out a small raspberry after the statement, skirting a glance over his shoulder after doing so to ensure the Templar Queen hadn't in fact come back to get him. After no immediate fiery doom fell upon his head the Eleventh Seat turned his attention back to the girl he had been so strongly...convinced to look after. "I had meant to ask Hotaru, is this your first time going into Hueco Mundo?"

---

"Yes." The word felt almost an insult to his question. Is he even serious? How would I manage to survive something like that at my level? Her eyes grew more worried after seeing the boy look visibly rattled after the Captain's sudden appearance. I wish she would have stayed long enough to listen...the door hitting me was an accident...right?

"Jin..." The words almost caught in her throat before she could speak them, but Hotaru pressed on all the same. "...I'm really sorry about Tsubaki doing that to you...it really didn't hurt me! I'm fine...really." Twin drops of water began to bud at the corners of her eyes, despite the friendly smile the girl had forced herself to wear. "Jin...I don't want you to get in trouble with the Captain because of me...I don't want anyone to get in trouble because of me..." Wiping her sleeve across the tiny tears that threatened to grow the girl looked back at him.

"I don't know these people, Jin. We're going somewhere I've never been, with people I've never met." A small gaze down to the sword at her side only made the sinking feeling that much more real. "I can't even hear my sword yet."

Wiping at one last droplet of salty sadness at her right eye, Hotaru did her best to keep a brave expression. "Jin, I know I don't have a right to ask this...but please don't leave me alone on the other side, okay?"

---

"Hey now, no need for crying, okay?" Jin widened his smile to an almost comical level, trying to get her to laugh. To smile. To...anything, really. "I'm not going to abandon you over there. Remember kiddo, this is just a recon. We go in, we look around, and if there's anything really bad waiting for us the Captain will come running, won't she?"

She always does. His eyes darted to one side momentarily, still unable to shake the feeling that the Templar Queen was still watching and listening. My luck the damn woman can probably read minds and time travel.

"We'll be fine. I looked out for you in Tokyo, and I'm looking out for you now." Mussing the top of the girl's hair the Eleventh Seat adopted a more sincere smile as he leaned in close to her, whispering as he went. "Besides, this is my first time there too."
