A Continuation of Do Not Handle With Care, Starring Tsubaki, Adena, The Red Horse, and the Pale Horse

Creaks and groans of dead and gutted steel roared through the nearly deserted shipping district, as any ears who would have been present to pay heed had long since fled in a desperate bid for self-preservation. Underfoot fissures in the concrete erupted like thunder, the pitted and marred roads of man no longer able to support the weight and power of the Pale Horse. As the fleeing Captain's bindings slowly faded away, the two massive front legs of the terrifying machine fell through the pavement.

Thrown face-first down into the subway tunnels that riddled Tokyo like fetid veins, Death had been forced to a momentary impasse. As the resonating din of hundreds of tons of metal and building material fell to an inconvenient clatter, Tsubaki looked back up at the foul-mouthed archer.

"Well shit, now what?"

[136]
Will/Ish/Gen
I figured this would be the easiest way for the Pale Horse to disappear for now, and pave the way for Death to call in someone else to (try to) finish two Captain class opponents. Let's go nuts folks.

Adena watched with great displeasure as the gigantic automaton crashed into the subway tunnels below the concrete. Taking with it at least a good little while's entertainment; she was not impressed with the male Captain who had yelled at her before throwing the crane. So brutish, so useless. He clearly did not understand what it meant to cut loose and have fun. Adena shook her head in dismay and, realizing that she had dropped her guard for a moment looked back down at the scaly Captain and simply shrugged.

"Shit's right," she said simply though her eyes glittering dangerously. "What happens next, I guess, is whether you take offense to my existence. Certainly, yours is pretty offensive."

Stalling for time, uncertain whether or not the creators of the gigantic deathbot had something else up their sleeve, she cast a cautious glance around, looking for...well looking for something, something always came out of the shadows, around then looked back to the other woman.

"Shame about the race though. That sounded fun."

[170/170]

"Offense to you?" The hammer was nonchalantly brought down, slamming into the already devastated pavement with little regard. "Until you start destroying the city you're not exactly offensive in my book. I'm all for balance but killing a Quincy just for being a foul-mouthed brat is a bit much."

Fishing a pack of cigarettes from a pocket in her robes, the Captain pressed one bone-plated finger to the tiny tube, lighting it with a glimmer of the abyssal fire. Taking a long drag, Tsubaki looked back to her would-be rival. "So, I guess that puts it in your court, lady. You gonna take offense to me?"

[106/242]

Adena glared at the other woman, hatred burning in her eyes. However, there was something different about this shinigami, some that Adena felt that she might understand. It was enough to give her twisted, angry heart pause for a moment as she considered the question. Her body itched to fight, to bring justice, yet she had felt how Vincent had faired against the Shinigami...not well, to say the least. Stupid, weak man that he was. However, as she continued to glare at the shinigami, it dawned on the madwoman that the rather destructive other woman hadn't really done, or said, anything that Adena had expected.

She was treating her as a rival more than anything.

It was an odd feeling, to find herself is such a position and, for the first time in a long time, Adena didn't really know what to do. Part of her simply wanted to off the bitch but another part wanted to wait and see what would happen for the time being...god only knew what was out there beyond the first gigantic robot of death.

"Fine," she said at last, lips drawn into a very thin line. "I won't take offense, at least not yet. Damn it, you were right when you said that killing me simply because I'm a bitch is a bit much...same goes for you and being annoying. Not to mention, there could be more of those" she jerked her head at the crater where the bot had fallen through, "out there. So, for now, first one to find one wins?"

Beaks
I was told to await the next deathbot, so here you have it, Adena being almost amicable >___>;;;. This will have to change, of course...sorry if the turn's a bit lame; i wasn't exactly sure how to go about this.

[262/432]

If there are more of them close by it wouldn't do me much good to start something with this girl right now. I can't get an exact fix on how strong she is but the girl is close to Ishin's level....at the very least. That in addition to the fact that she really seems to have it in for Shinigami doesn't exactly work in my favor.

"Then again...can't say I blame her..."

Letting the lone muttering fall away, Tsubaki gathered her thoughts as the massive automaton disappeared beneath the rubble. Given what the Soutaichou did to the Quincy, I can't really blame her for holding a grudge...god knows I would. I guess that leaves the big question: Will I have to kill her?

"I wouldn't worry too much about that, if our Captains are in retreat it probably won't take too long for one of them to find us. That being said..." Once again, Tsubaki fished the small pack from her robes, holding it open towards the glaring woman. "Smoke for a name?"

[173/415]
@gen
Yeah, I PM'ed Twings about it, I'd look for a War appearance before too long.

This is so weird, she thought, utterly perplexed. It's like she understands, sort of. Given how strong I think she is, man she must have either known about it or been part of it. If she was part of it, I will kill her so fucking dead she won't even be a thought. But...damn it, I don't think she was. God damn it, she reminds me of myself for the love of god. I don't believe this, I'm empathizing with this woman. I wonder if I will have to kill her.

Reluctantly and with a slightly less hostile glare--a smoke would do wonders for her nerves--Adena reached out with one calloused hand and took a cigarette from the package that was offered. Without even thinking about it, reishi gathered into an arrow in her palm. Raising the glowing creation to her mouth she lit her cigarette and took a long drag before holding the arrow out to the Captain to use as an impromptu lighter.

"You know," she was slightly more relaxed now, but still on guard, "I should really be carving your heart from your chest right now and you mine. Shame this thing had to drop by."

[212/644]

lulz
I can actually see the two of them getting along, which is interesting.

"Yeah, well what are you gonna do, right?" Taking another drag the Captain craned her head absently, listening to a fresh chorus of explosions in the far distance. As the muffled din calmed once again, Tsubaki could not stop herself from looking at the massive crater the Pale Horse had created in the area. "Don't even know what these idiots are thinking, making something like that..."

And for that matter, how many of them are there?

Glancing over to the minutely pacified Quincy, the Captain managed a calm smile. "So, never caught that name."

[94/509]

It was at that exact moment that the air around them turned into a nightmare of blue flame. Hotter than the sun, it blasted through the tunnels like it was on a mission to rip apart the very fabric of the earth itself.

The red horse was riding. War had descended upon them.

Ok, so horse is about the last thing one would use to describe the thing that attacked them. In fact, if anything, it looked like one of those movie monsters. Huge, intimidating, covered in scales and plates. It looked like a metallic cross between a T-Rex and a Stegosaurus. only machine, of course. The blue flame that had erupted out of it's mouth was the manipulation of the machines own unique brand of Cero combined with a special irradiated Napalm. Anything it touched was doomed.

Through the in the street, it stared down on them, eyes burning crimson. The driver was no where to be found.

Flicking the spent butt of the cigarette to the ground, Tsubaki looked at the flaming beast with an amused smile. "Hmm, it seems this one wants to fight you and I with fire." Bringing the massive hammer from the shattered concrete to her steel-ensconced shoulder in a fluid stroke that seemed impossibly fast, the lone Templar stared back into the crimson eyes of the beast...grinning all the more.

"Actually, that's hilarious."

[71/580]

As flame erupted around the two women and the malevolent automaton made itself known, Adena laughed and grinned at the elation that filled her body. Gone was the confusion of a few moments before and in its place rushed a cold, stark clarity. It was clarity born of a lifetime of battle; she knew how to handle herself in this arena; unlike how to handle herself around her apparent would-be rival. Adena tossed her fiery head and regarded the mechanical abomination with entertained eyes.

"The name's Adena Ayers," she said to the other woman, answering the question of a few moments before. "Yours? And what'cha think? We each take half? First to reduce their side of this ridiculous thing to rubble wins. Sounds fair to me."

[126/790]

"Sounds like a plan, but when I finish my half first I'm starting in on yours." Letting the whole of her spiritual fury seep out through her body, the Captain engulfed the shattered ruins of the district in an all consuming flame. Abyssal conflagration swarmed around her body like a voracious ally, casting the azure flame of her opponent in a pale comparison.

"Tsubaki, Successor of Leon Valiente Simeon, Captain of the Eleventh Division." As her bone and steel clad fingers wrapped tighter around her weapon in earnest readiness, she looked over to her unlikely compatriot with a genuine smile. "Let's make this ugly bastard wish it was never born."

[110/690]

Red fire began to dance and burn amid the abyssal flames pouring from Adena's rival as the fiery haired woman released the entirety of her soul's might. In waves and shocks the two massive energies billowed about the ruins of Tokyo's Shipping district. Adena laughed a madwoman's laugh as she felt her power flood her body; it had been far too long since she had, far to dangerous for her to, let lose like this. Yet here she was, standing next to the very thing that she had been hiding from and, for the moment, unequivocal allies. A grin, identical to that of the other woman's, drew its way slowly across the Quincy's pretty face as she swung around her bow.

"You're on, bitch," she said. With a wink she let fly a storm of arrows upon the left side of the giant automaton.

[144/934]

Only for them to disappear in midair. They weren't deflected, they merely ceased to be. The giant monster turned its fire red eyes on the Quincy archeress, and then suddenly the arrows were flying towards the woman. Only this time they were red in color and felt tainted as they flew thro9ugh the air. When they hit, it sent up a cloud of dust that seemed heavy and pervasive. There was a click as white, unnatural light filled the hole, coming from the eyes of the monster.

"You are hereby ordered to stand down by declaration of the law set by the Order of the White Horse. You will be detained and questioned, to be released upon determination of intent. Cease and desist your combative actions immediately."

Upon seeing her arrows vanish into Oblivion, Adena's rage--temporarily forgotten during her conversation with the Shinigami Captain--returned in full force. She vanished into a silent whisper of hirenkayku to avoid the arrows, appearing high in the air, standing on an invisible platform of reishi and staring daggers at the abomination. It had no right to brush off her attack in such a easy manner...underpowered arrows or not, they should have left some mark. And then to begin to demand her surrender. Who did these people think they were? God? Adena took orders from nobody. Disgusted and angry, she spat at the giant machine of war before speaking.

"Like hell!" she screamed. "Give up so that you can go on destroying the city on your own? I don't think so. You're going to die here."

Then, with expert grace and fluidity, she drew and launched one arrow, heavy and crackling with explosive power straight for the robot's left eye.

[161/1095]

Stuff
Arrow: 100% shuuhaku, not overloaded.

[ Kuchu fuyo suru ] -- “Levitate”
Quincy skilled with the art of manipulating reishi to improve their movement have developed a technique that allows them to stay airborne after jumping into the air. This technique costs 200 reiatsu to use and lasts for one turn. A Quincy may use an additional 100 reiatsu per turn to keep the technique active for up to two additional turns. Requires a one turn cool down until used again.

Requirements: 3,000 Douryuu

And again, the arrow disappeared. This time, however, it hit the eye and with a blinding flash was turned back upon her with the force of an atom bomb.

The explosion hit the girl in the chest, throwing her through a nearby building. The Death God woman momentarily forgotten, the giant machine focused it's attention on the quincy. It reared it's head back, and the plates along the back started to glow. Then, with a bright blue light that spelled doom and disaster, launched nuclear laced fire at the woman.

Time seemed to slow for Adena as she watched her arrow vanish then reappear, only to be streaking forward towards her. In a flash she had her bow up and ready and firing a single shot straight into the offending arrows tip. Then it hit her. Not as hard as it could have been, but hard enough to throw her backwards towards a building. Using her momentum, she twisted around and fired again, blasting open a hole in the side of the building large enough for not just her, but a thousand hers to go fly through. Disgusted, she gathered reishi at her feet and arrested her tumble, standing once again on the air to face the machine.

She was moving even as it gathered fire in its gigantic mouth; heading up, up and away from the fiery devastation that was streaking below her. Even though she had avoided most of it, she could not escape the terrible heat it radiated outward. The hard rubber soles of her shoes melted and the durable leather of which they were made turned to ash.

God damn, she though as she watched the fiery attack utterly destroy the building she had been thrown through, this thing is something else!

Breathing heavily, she landed atop another building and swung her bow up once again. A burning arrow appeared along side her solid bow and to it she added a twist of her own will and power to it, then let fly with the silvery destruction. The arrow flew straight and true towards the eye once again, looking as though she was doing the same thing as before, but, at the last second she raised a hand.

"Platzen!" the redhead roared. At her command, the arrow exploded into a sphere of fiery destruction not two feet from the automaton before she vanished into another hirenkayku, determined not to stay in the same place any longer than she had to.

[323/1418]

Explosions rocked the pitted pavement, sending bits of shrapnel and a haze choked with dust into the air. As the Quincy valiantly pitted the whole of her fury against the Horseman of War, below the Captain walked slowly but deliberately towards the hulking automaton. While others may have reacted to the unholy partnership of spirit and steel with apprehension, even revulsion...Tsubaki only watched the beast with a sense of errant curiosity.

Forgotten to the other two engines of destruction, the leader of the Blood Templar found herself standing dangerously close to the machine's front set of appendages. Looking up through the soot and burning haze the smile once again saw fit to emerge upon her lips. Getting past its mobility is going to be the first obstacle...getting past its defenses will have to wait. As the shimmering wings of transparent alabaster formed upon her shoulders, the Captain launched forward, striking the metal maw of Gravios against the side of the Red Horse's right leg. As the reverberating clang of metal smashing upon its kin echoed through the battlefield, Tsubaki readied herself for a second strike against the infernal machine's underbelly.

[190/880]
Sorry about my absence
Family affairs, bullshit, etc. Moving on. Also, if you two have them some stats would be lovely.

The red horse reacted to the two threats at nearly the same time.

The fire attack, coming from in front, was stopped a moment before the other attack. The flames split and flew outwards, smashing into the two adjacent buildings. The extreme heat from the blasts melted steel and twisted the tall buildings until the looked like nothing more than deformed columns.

The second attack struck, but it seemed to have no effect on the thing's balance or mobility. It simply flicked its leg, slamming into the woman below it.

Suddenly, Red Horse stopped. it stopped moving, stopped attacking. It's head turned and looked in the direction that a sudden intense flare of reiatsu appeared from. Turning, it made to head towards the source.

Dear Ish
You're going for a ride and a mindfreak. Love, Beaks

"Ban Kai."

The two subtle words were lost to the din of carnage, but in a matter of seconds the Red Horse was presented with a much closer, much more vicious presence to contend with. A churning rage unlike anything that had ever set foot upon the soil of the living flared to life, engulfing the presumptuous horseman in an aura of flame that far exceeded his own. As the dust settled from where he had struck the Captain, a lone glint of burning silver came smashing down upon the beast's foot.

The colossus of steel and sorcery was sent hurtling away from the force of the attack, slamming into the collection of jagged metal spires that so recently before had been commonplace buildings. Amidst the crushing pressure the Righteous Devil smiled, her eyes glinting with the same ruby madness that lingered within the eyes of her weapon. Long tendrils of ebony hair danced around her body like waiting spines, prepared to lash out at any who would seek her harm.

Above the tattered remains of the shipping district the skies grew dark, churning and roaring with the signs of the impending maelstrom. As the gargantuan machine came crashing to a halt amid the burning wreckage, Tsubaki walked slowly towards the beast, ignoring the searing pain in her side from where it had so foolishly struck her.

オーラの正しい悪魔 Ōra no Tadashii Akuma (Aura of the Righteous Devil)

Feat Type:
Unique
Description:
Tsubaki's record of service has put her in the presence of some of the most terrifying Reiatsu pressures ever known, both in Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. To combat this, the Aura of Resolve technique was created. While it does nothing to increase the Reiatsu Tsubaki has available, the technique doubles the pressure she exudes when utilizing her release or techniques. (Example: 40,000 Reiatsu will feel like 80,000 Reiatsu and so on.) This increase in the strength of her pressure allows Tsubaki to withstand stronger Reiatsu signatures with less effort.

While active, the aura around Tsubaki is stained a mixture of deep silver and black, causing her to appear engulfed in dark fire. This technique carries no inherent cost, but can only be utilized when Tsubaki is actively using her Reiatsu. Actions such as casting Kidou, using Division Techniques or going into Shi Kai/Ban Kai will feel doubled. Waiting quietly at the bus stop will not. The amount of additional pressure generated is dependent on the woman's Reiatsu, and will rise and lower appropriately as her current Reiatsu rises or falls.

Ability: Scales of the Titan Lord, The Seven Tragedies of Man - The scales of Gravios glitter in an everlasting hue of night, each brimming with the intent to cause pain beyond measure to any who would threaten the master that they defend.

Through tragedy and pain one becomes stronger, through suffering one is sculpted into what they will one day rise to be. The primal desire to endure and withstand harm gives rise to an internal fervor that seeks vengeance against those who would inflict the suffering. As before, the scales enable the Captain to ignore all minor wounds, in addition to moderate attacks in Ban Kai. Severe and fatal wounds are treated as if moderate, however the limitation to this is that Tsubaki's Ban Kai can only mitigate 3 lethal wounds, any further attacks that would take the Captain's life continue to be fatal.

When Tsubaki is struck, the malicious force contained in the scales is brought to life, bringing to bear an event of great sorrow and loss in the life of an attacker. This recollection occurs in the foes mind, and cannot be circumvented via any mental discipline or conditioning.

Attack: Soul of the Titan Lord, Claws that Tear Wide the Doors of Catastrophe - The abyssal fire that has become one with the Captain of the Blood Templars is honed beyond traditional limits in Ban Kai, becoming capable of fortifying Tsubaki's attacks and withering away any who would seek to stand against her.

Through tragedy and pain all becomes possible, the darkest and most violent recesses of the mind plumbed in search of revenge and respite. The primal desire to endure and withstand harm leads the enraged soul to kindle the fires of revolution within their domain, burning away all that would seek to keep the condemned from freedom.

Each attack made by Tsubaki in Ban Kai (Normal melee or a Ban Kai technique) is bolstered by the Aura of the Righteous Devil, empowering her movements and rage to the utmost lethal. All attacks made carry an additional pressure of 1.5 times the cost of what is spent to launch them. For attacks that carry no cost, they are fortified by 1.5 times the current Reiatsu level of the Captain in terms of pressure (This multiplier is not add
ed to her combat stat). This ability does not increase the power of any attacks, but simply increases the spiritual pressure inherent in them, much like her Aura of the Righteous Devil.

This technique carries no cost to activate, and is applied to every attack.

悪魔ハンター Akuma hantā (Devil Hunter)
Type: Unique

Devil Hunter consists of one downward slash, costing Tsubaki 10% of her Reiatsu to execute. Any damage received while initiating this attack is added to the force of the swing and paid straight back to her opponent, regardless of whether the damage was dealt from that opponent. Once the blow is landed the foe is thrown back 3 meters per 5,000 Zanjutsu Tsubaki possesses (including buffs), capping out at 30 meters.

Math
~ Gravios, Awakened Demon of the Final Seal ~ 62,030 ~ (11 Turns//85%) (124,060 Black Fire) - 10% Devil Hunter = 55,827 (111,654 Black Fire) + 1,500 Regen from Ragnarok = 57,327 (114,654 Black Fire)

Attack
6,203 Reiatsu x 1.5 Force (BK Tech) = 9,305 Reiatsu @ 43,897 Zanjutsu

Red ropes of reishi, burning with a rage unparalleled even by the abyssal fire tore the night and flame asunder as the last of the Quincy prepared for battle.

In fiery sheets and waves the power she commanded roared and twisted about her body in a ever expanding spiral as her red hair blew in a wind unseen. She called that power to her and more as her twisted heart began to burn, to seethe and to scream within her breast. It was in that moment, as she released control of her hatred, her rage, that Adena became profoundly aware of the similarities between her and the treacherous shinigami Captain who stood on the pavement below. Yet she thrust that troublesome thought from her mind with a twist of her indomitable will when she crossed her hands in front of her and the two rings on her index fingers glinted in the unnatural light.

From those two rings, the very last of the Ayers Quincy Crosses, emerged Adena's full manifestation of her bow. Two straight lines, crossed at the center. were the purest form of the madwoman's rage; simple and deadly beyond all comprehension. With a cry of visceral rage--her rage toward the shinigami now redirected--she drew her bow and rained hundreds of arrows down upon the hulking form of the Red Horse. Instantly, without regard for her shinigami partner, the arrows began to detonate upon contact. One explosion after another they came until all sight of the mechanical abomination was lost amid a rolling explosion and a crater that had once been a city block.

[266/1684]

Things to know:

Arrows: 100% (cost reduced) shuuhaku consumed as well as 100% of her remaining shuuhaku (35% her total) overloaded by her available nintai reiatsu.
What this means: Big. Ass. Explosion.
and much property damage.
Autonomous turns remaining: More than 10.
