~:: Breaching the Western Gate ::~
The United Kanda Insurrection

Rayon and Haruki had given the signal. The colored groups were already on the move, headed to their appointed positions. Chikao and Ritsuko led the yellow force to the Southern gate, preparing for the diversion. It was his group of men and women that would be the first to break into Seireitei and open the gates for the rest of the Insurrection to enter.

“Check your weapons. You should all be well-stocked enough to battle your way through to your select guard towers. Make sure you have what you need -- weapons, explosives, water.” Orion clasped one hand over the handle of his sword. “Remember your training. At this moment, you each play a critical role in the success of this mission. We must open the gates to let the others through!” he exclaimed vigorously. “Try to reach your goal unnoticed. But if you are found, then give them hell! Do not be afraid to kill!” In a swift motion, the leader unsheathed his blade and raised it above his head. “We are the keys to overtaking Seireitei!”

His eyes fell over each of the men and women, watching the spectrum of emotions that settled on their faces. Some showed more enthusiasm than others, but ultimately, the Roman knew they were ready. Sliding his sword back into its sheathe, he turned around and glared forward at the road ahead of him.

“Let’s go!” Orion cried, an empowering burst of ardor filling his chest. With his select seven men and women, following behind him, the Roman rushed onward into the dark forest.

orders

For now, we stay together to break into the western gates. Once inside, we’ll separate and head to the individual guard towers to open the gates. Depending on how chaotic it gets, I -may- make each group separate into individual threads since we’ll all be in different places.

Assigned Gates:

Rob, Nate --> Western Gate
Beaks, Cad --> Northern Gate
Thread, Grif --> Southern Gate
Ish, Mango --> Eastern Gate

Giano and Bele – Once you two are finished writing your ‘signal’ collab, join whichever group you want. You can separate or stay together. Either or is fine.

Ryu followed with the group, making sure his partner was with him. So this is how I'll finally get my revenge against the cursed shinigami, he thought. Checking that the hilt of Namaru no Ryu was firmly attached to his obi, he kept travelling with the group. He sprinted to be at Orion's side.

"How do you think we'll fare against them?" He kept his voice low enough in hopes to avoid anyone else hearing his question.

N.B.: See hiren...I don't drop NPCs after 2 turns >.>

Kyran, stood silently, a stoic pillar of confidence and burning ambition as Orion gave his speech. How it was rousing, he could see the effects of the words on the men and women around him; all united under the same cause. The shinigami must die. It was a simple enough thing to say out-loud, to build a movement around and begin planning. Yet in his heart of hears, Kyran knew that they were in for a fight more bitter than they could possibly anticipate. There were bound to be shinigami who would disobey the age old tenant in order to defend their city...and when that happened, then the real fight would begin.

In his very blood the young man hungered for that moment. This is where and when his new story would begin and where it would, most likely, end. He would make it good.

With one, final adjustment of his belt, the hard-eyed man launched himself after Orion his blood singing out vengeance.

“Yay,” Scarlett said apathetically as she strolled behind the rest of the raging idiots, keeping close to this Kyran guy who was supposed to be her partner in arms for this ridiculous mission. She didn’t really feel motivated at all, especially since she was supposed to go with random person number sixty-eight, instead of Orion.

She realized that he’d rather keep an eye on those who needed eye-keeping, but if there was anyone who needed his need for keeping an eye on things... it was her. Besides, now that she was no longer with he who she wanted to be with the most... she really, really didn’t see any purpose to this blasphemy.

Seireitei is the threat ruining our lives? she thought to herself as she shook her head. Bah!

[130]

There's your turn Nate, now hush.

Samuel was right next to Ryu, running hard and fast to keep up with the oddly dressed man. He was odd in this group, at least. Not many people would wear a shinigami’s uniform in the middle of a rebellion against those same people.

It wasn’t like the Southerner had any room to talk, though. In a land full of kimonos and samurai armor, he still wore the same gray pants and white cotton shirt that he had died in. It made him an oddity in almost every group that he was a part of. Hell, today had been the first day that he had put anything that could be considered a new part of his wardrobe, and all that was the belt that he had looped around his body from shoulder to waist. It carried a dozen freshly made and ready to use “fire-starters” as he liked to call them.

“Damn, boy,” Samuel finally spoke to Ryu, “You’ve got alot of speed in them legs of yours, don’t you? I can barely keep up.”

[175/175]

Josephine seemed to be the only one not racing to exact vengeance – at least it felt that way to the timid soul. The nervous girl straggled behind the crowd, lugging the heavy leather sack. The contents rustled about, the muffled sound of metal on metal clanking next to her ankle.

Damn it, she thought, realizing that, soon, they would have to be quieter.

She lugged the heavy bag up to a shoulder and looped it around her neck. Twisting the strap forward she heaved the bag onto her back and picked up her pace, having fallen further behind the group. Having caught up again, Josephine shuffled along and took a look at everyone around her, glancing at their faces as she kept her head down.

What's gonna happen if we succeed? What if this actually works? Holy shit, the girl pondered, blinking in disbelief, I’ve never even thought of that...

Even through her training, Josephine had probably been the only person to not grab onto the feeling of hope. Everything she had learned had felt like the only option – it felt as if she didn’t deserve to think of a future where she could sleep peacefully through an entire night, a future where she may actually find someone worth trusting.

As the pack grew closer to the gate, the inked and pierced girl reached back into the bag and pulled out a small device. She placed her thumb on a small pin, much like the safety on a gun, and pushed it in. With a soft click, the device disappeared from sight, clenched in one fist as she secured a small knife by her waist with the other hand. All it would take now was the sight of those bastard shinigami. Then she would have all the motivation she would need.

[302]

Just nodding as an agreement to Orion the rogue glanced at Samuel, and kept his gaze focused upon his target as he spoke out.

"I used to train a lot back in the days, but as to why I shall not reveal to you," He didn't slow his speed down and barey even noticed the man behind him struggle to keep up. How long will it be before I can slash at the corrupted flesh of those bastards? The young rogue's hand fell to the hilt of his zanpakutou and firmly gripped it.

Are you ready, my partner? he asked from the spirit mentally, who replied in turn with its gentle voice, that was a stark contrast to the feeling of the athmosphere, however, this time its normally gentle voice had large amount of hatred mixed into it. Yes I am, let me loose upon those ungrateful beings!

As he had finished the conversation with his spirit, Ryu realized that they had arrived at the gate.

[166/243]

Orion walked forward and place one hand on the ivory wall. The actual gate was still several miles more north of their position. The select members stood closer to the corner of the Southern wall -- exactly where the Roman planned to breach into the White City.

“Scarlett,” Orion called over his shoulder. He craned his neck sideways to see the indigo-haired beauty. “Let’s begin positioning the explosives.”

“That’s nice,” Scarlett replied evasively as she handed Orion a set of bombs. This had to be, without a doubt, one of the worst ideas she had ever been a part of. It wasn’t so much as nearly impossible to enter the White City through normal means like... infiltrating, but blowing the walls up? Really?

That just seemed like suicide to her.

Orion’s eyes leered down on the woman, but he said nothing. He had no time to be dealing with her antics… not now, at a time like this. Both the blueprint prepared by his subordinates and the map given to him by the Professor indicated that this corner was almost always left unguarded -- the superlative location to make their entrance.

Carefully, the brawny rebel positioned his set of explosives into half a square and watched as Scarlett aligned her set accordingly. Once hers were attached in mirror formation, Orion asked, “Ready?”

“As about ready as I’ll ever be,” she responded with a faint smile. She knew that this was the pinnacle of Orion’s ideals, his very own heroic accomplishment or whatever he wanted to call it – Scarlett, however, even after that long talk, didn’t see any of it.

“Let’s just get this over with, dear.”

Orion grabbed Scarlett’s hand and pulled her away from the wall. He walked her back to the group, bringing her into safe position with the bombs’ flammable coil unrolling behind him. Once they stood alongside the others, Orion dropped her hand to remove a matchbox from his pocket. Lighting the coil, his eyes glared upwards to see the flashing spark skulk along the ground.

The explosion was relatively quiet with only a small amount of smoke and debris. With no noise coming from the opposite side of the wall, the Roman knew they were free to enter.

Turning around to the others, Orion’s amber gaze moved sideways, temporarily pausing on each of their faces. Last, he stopped on Scarlett’s sharp azure orbs.

They were ready.

He turned to face the entirety of the group -- the men and women whom he had trained, conversed with, and grown to respect. They may die tonight -- a truth and a sacrifice they had come to expect and one Orion admired.

Hushed, but in a strong, harsh tone, the insurrection leader commanded, “You know your orders. Let’s go!”

Closing her eyes for a bit longer than a standard blink, Scarlett sighed slightly, softly brushed past Orion and stepped towards the debris.

Just enter the gates and head toward your destination in this thread. Maybe ask some questions, last minute chit-chat, etc. I'd like for this to end Saturday. Individual movements/challenges/orders will be handled separately. We'll talk about it in this >google doc<

a review of your orders

Nate / Rob:
Kyran and Scarlett - stay at the closest Western gate. Green team is waiting outside.

Beaks / Cad:
Vell and Josephine - Northern gate. Red team is waiting outside.

Ish:
The Professor and Orion will go to the Eastern gate where blue team is waiting.

Thread / Grif:
Ryu and Samuel - Southern gate. Yellow team is attacking outside. Remember, this is the most dangerous wall due to the long-distance strikes from the UKI led by Ritsuko and Chikao. Shinigami will be on high alert, giving you much less of a 'stealth and surprise' factor.

Giano / Bele:

Once Rayon and Haruki join the others, feel free to join whichever group you like. When you decide, let me know.

Pulling out his zanpakutou from its sheath Ryu raised it high up on the air, the shining metal of the blade reflecting the sunlight, he spoke out, words directed to Samuel and Orion.

"I will complete my orders without fail, that I swear promise. Samuel, we will not fail! Let's go!" He was firm and strength seemed to flow out of his stature. A nod to both of them and for the others as well, he sprinted through breach, sheathing his blade.

“You got that right.” Samuel said in response. He was behind the swordsman, a fire-starter in one hand and a matchbox in the other. He did not have the skills that his partner had, that was for sure. It was not much of an issue, though. He was still, in his humble opinion, better than your average shinigami.

Even if the former Confederate was weaker than he thought, though, fire always made for a good equalizer.
