[Shinigami/Open] Week 193: For Great Pictures

Not open for further replies.
"No, no, no,” Takeshi was whispering passing next to few painting. They weren’t bad on their own just didn’t have one thing that he was still looking for.

Moving to another tent he noticed at the edge of his sight some familiar figures. Stopping young arcanist looked there and saw two captains that were probably talking with each other.

A interesting view,
he thought looking at the Templar Queen. For long time if not for eternity he didn’t see Eleventh division captain in other clothes than she always wearing. Next to her other captain also was looking quite different but in his case that different wasn’t so easily noticeable. Someone really had it way with the captain of the eleventh.
***
Minutes were passing and Kumiho wasn’t any closer to finding anything worthy her attention. Of course there were no so few pictures of night or moon but always they were so casual, so common.

What if I don’t find anything? It started so promising and now all these painting looking so incomplete,
she thought leaving another tent. Before vanishing inside next tent she looked in direction of both captains. Looks like this sales starting to attract more eminent shinigami.

"Ooo...” Anya lips left a short sigh, when she stopped before one of the pictures inside.

Kamenashi Yuurei recently returned from her long overdue trip to Hokutan, and proceeded directly to the First. She walked through the same familiar path towards the division's premises, and almost felt disoriented by what she saw. There was a bazaar, and a multitude of people was all around her. Of course Yuurei knew that she followed the right path, but it seemed rather different. There were tents all around the place, and a splash of color was evident in almost every direction. I'm sure I'm in the right place...or am I? She asked herself, still a little bit confused.

Unable to hold her curiosity, she walked towards one of the tents, but she found herself blocked by a crowd of random shinigami so she had to stay on the spot. From where she stood, she tried to take a peek of the tent's contents. There were rectangular objects inside it, and they displayed a wide array of colors, which she wasn't able to see due to her distance. It took her a while to at discern what it was. A...portrait? What's a portrait doing here?

She grabbed the first opportunity and squeezed through the crowd. Inside, there were portraits of different scenes and sizes, all of which seemed to involve odd occurrences, yet held a captivating quality into it. They're beautiful...I wonder what this is for though... She struggled to remember as she continued to peruse the other images.

Heavens! That's today?! It suddenly came to her. She had been seeing a sort of announcement since the past few days, specifically one regarding a yard sale of pictures. So I'm not lost. Darn, I wish I figured that earlier... Yuurei frowned at her own stupidity, but continued to look at the unbelievably astounding collection of images in front of her.

Word had reached her that Picca was holding a… poster sale. The sheer idea lurched Lilith’s stomach around in a wave of dread. She was sprinting all the way to the First. And not because she had a particular need for new wall art – she had a rather impressive collection of paintings already – but because she knew exactly what kind of pictures Picca was apt to sell.

Paparazzi ones of an embarrassing, being-a-dork-when-no-one-is-looking Tenth vice-captain.

Breathing hard as she wiped the sweat-littered locks from her face, Lilith stumbled through the First’s gates and ambled toward Picca. When she drew closer to the wheelchair, Lilith heaved, “Hi Picca. So… What kind of…” She paused to catch her breath. After a few moments of strained awkwardness, Lilith regained her composure and replaced her look of dread with a more charmed expression. “Well, what pictures are you selling today?”

[152]

Okamii Igasho stepped quietly across the grounds, both hands held behind his back. The barefoot assassin had quietly admired the various artwork and materials as the crowd socialized in the distance.

An observatory would be a phenomenal addition to the Gotei, he thought to himself. I haven’t made the time to stargaze since the Academy.

The shinigami picked up a letter-sized painting, depicting a plant-like Hollow erupting from the ground.

“Familiar,” the assassin mumbled through a grin.

He placed the picture down and went back to quietly walking across the various tents. Igasho was more than happy to donate some money to the cause but if he was going to buy something, it seemed that he was looking for something more unique...

As he looked through some of the photos in the scrap book, he got quite a red head. He really had seen much, but seeing some of the hottest looking shinigami with nearly nothing on, or in some cases nothing on at all, even he could not hide his embarrassment.

Seeing Mizuki-fukutaichou in a red string bikini alongside some other beauties of his division, like Yaname in her purple bikini, or Yukiko in her crimson red one he really had some good photos at hand, but nothing with which he could walk around. Just thinking about Mizuki catching him with some of those photos in poster size under his arm, a cold shiver ran down his back.

He continued to look through the scrap book only to see even more of those pictures, with some embarrassing shots here and there. One highlight where the vice captain of the Tenth Division tripping over a curb stone and making a rather funny face. But he wonder a little that he was not able to find any embarrassing photos of the Soutaichou, looks like even Picca feared the wrath of the mightiest man in the Soul Society, or she just hid them really good and did not put them in this scrapbook.

When he was done with browsing through all of this, he was rather disappointed. Sure there were some really great pictures in it, but nothing worth of taking the risk to get caught with. As he was about to lay the book back underneath the crate, it opened a little again and he was able to see a picture, of a girl he had seen before. Opening the book again he looked at the black haired girl taking a shower and standing with her back to the camera. When he looked closer he was able to remember her again. Wasn't this the girl I rescued while on a bounty?

As he did not want to go out of the tent empty-handed, and because he really liked that photo, he memorized the number of it before he finally put the book back underneath the crate. After that he went off to find Picca, so he could order a print of that picture.

[370/754]

"Please kill for far more," Picca whispered nervously after she heard Captain Tsubaki's remarks. Perhaps it had been unwise to not alert the captains to her desires but it was too late now. Poster sales were fine and all but funding something as large as a construction project required something more. The host turned around and nodded to her helpers, who started setting up.

"Hi Lilith! I'm glad you decided to come." Picca swung around so that the vice captain would have to face away from where Mitsuhito was. Her single eye glanced beyond Lilith briefly to see if the man was done looking at the scrapbook yet. "I am not a complete creeper ye know. I have a lot of pictures like these too." She swept her hands around the various stands and displays. "And everything I sell has been taken in a public place." Of course, lots of things happened in public places as well. "Why don't you take a look around, I'm sure ye'll find nothing objectionable here."

Picca turned around and saw that the preparations were done. She gave one final look around the area but it seemed the final captain she invited wasn't going to make it. Curses. Two would be more than enough though but she bit her lip since the final captain would be least likely to hurt her.

A small stage had been set up in one of the previously innocent looking tents. At the center of the stage was a podium. Picca walked over and disappeared for a moment behind the tent curtain to prepare something. Once that was done, the one legged shinigami came back out and went over to the place where the captains were waiting. "Excuse me but would you two please come with me."

She led the two of them onto the stage. Picca took position behind the podium. "Good day lads and lasses. It is time for our special event. These two lovely captains have generously agreed to help me and have generously donated their time. We will now auction off a date with Captains Anenokoji and Tsubaki! This may take the form of whatever the winner wants (as long as it is within the legal boundaries). The winner will also receive a complimentary gift card to any number of find restaurants."

I am so, so deid, Picca thought grimly, but she was smiling on the outside.

"Let's start with the refined nobleman, a master of both the sword and magic, the very enchanting Captain Senesati Anenokoji! We will proceed from five hundred rings."

Just a bit of rules because I want to. This will not cost any actual kan but the most you can bid is equal to your kan + 1/4 your characters reiatsu. You may give away kan to other people if you want. The captains have no kan to bid at all. Bidding for Sen ends at 11:59pm EST wednesday

Also, please try to allow the Sene to have a post after each bid. But no need to try too hard.

Excuse the mini chapter, I got a little carried away it seems...

Makoto entered the makeshift shopping bazaar within the First Division grounds with a look of pure boredom etched upon his face. Having been dragged against his will to kingdom come and back (otherwise known as Seireitei’s high end shopping district) by the woman who currently was linked to him by their arms, the nobleman was just about ready to scream. He was by no means tired of his fiancée’s company, but spending time pretending to care about the latest in Seireitei fashion was definitely beginning to wear on him.

As such, Makoto began to tune out a majority of what Fumika chattered away about, only giving a timely “uh huh,” “ah, I see,” or “wow” whenever it felt appropriate to do so. That is why it came as a sudden shock to find himself surrounded by portraits of various sizes whose subject matter varied widely from mundane to downright sultry. One such photograph of the latter variety caught the nobleman’s attention and held on for dear life.

The unknown female shinigami was facing away from her photographer, clad in a vivid red bikini on a sun soaked beach presumably located in the human world. Her expression was that of a carefree and confident young woman, laughing jovially at something or someone just out of frame. The shot was a candid one; a bit too candid to have been staged. No, this beauty was photographed without even knowing it.

The healer captain no longer registered his betrothed’s incessant ramblings. He was mesmerized by this life sized poster. The subject’s legs seemed to go on forever. One could get lost tracing their length. So engrossed in the photographer’s inspired work was he that he was completely unaware that he had stopped his forward progress and was slowly reaching for the woman’s firm…

SMACK!

Makoto was brought back to reality by the sound and stinging pain of having his right hand slapped away from the poster. “Huh?” he began thickly, turning to find Fumika glaring up at him.

Fumi gave her recalcitrant husband-to-be a withering scowl to wordlessly admonish him for his shamelessly wandering eyes. After grabbing him by the hand and roughly pulling him forward, the maiden spoke in an uncharacteristic scathingly haughty voice. “Such indecency! But I suppose with a face like that you’d have to stoop to any level to attract attention.”

Though Makoto thought her words about the bikini girl’s looks were far from truthful, he knew better than to correct her. But there was something else that he did feel safe pointing out. “I don’t think she had to do anything to attract attention. Looking at some of these other pictures, I don’t think any of these people did.”

“Hmm,” Fumi started, her voice back to normal. “Now that you mention it, none of these people seem to know they were being photo…graphed.”

Makoto knew why his fiancée’s words trailed off. She felt the same chill that ran down his spine as realization dawned on them both. While this photographer was clearly talented, it was also clear that this man or woman was a top rate creeper.

“What is this?” Makoto questioned as his eyes widened from finding a picture of himself amongst the various displays.

“A… fundraiser,” Fumika responded slowly. “I already told you that. Weren’t you listening?”

“I guess not,” the nobleman replied distractedly.

Normally such an admission would have gotten Makoto berated, but just as Fumika opened her mouth to commence doing so, an unfamiliar voice with a rather odd accent drew their attention to a small stage beneath a nearby tent. Though there was a growing gathering of shinigami surrounding the tent, Makoto was still able to identify a couple of his peers.

“Senesati… up for bid? And by the looks of it, Tsubaki is next…?”

Suddenly the feeling of slight revulsion was gone and a wide grin split the healer captain’s mug. “This is going to be quite entertaining….”

[656]

After looking at gathered in tent pictures Takeshi didn’t find anything that could attract his attention. More pictures but not with motive he was looking for.

“Maybe I should talk with Picca about finding some truly impressing painting for me,” he said going outside. Searching for the fourth seat Kaneda noticed someone else.

“Nice. I wasn’t suspecting she would come here,” male reaper said quietly and walked toward ebony-hair girl.

“Good day miss Yuurei,” Takeshi said when he stopped before her. “So you find your way here too?”

Before the other reaper replied he heard Picca voice.

***
On the picture was woman in purple bikini.

Yaname?
She thought a little shocked by seeing such kind of picture. Looking around she finds few others with a female shinigami in bikini. In one of them recognized vice-captain of the Twelfth division. Moment later to tent walked in a familiar figure clad into haori. Kumiho stepped aside to not stand into his way and just watched as he looked at the one of the pictures. Even when the other woman argues with him she just stayed motionlessly.

Then she heard some woman voice calling everyone closer to nearby stage.

A bid to have a date? A quite unexpected idea,
she thought but didn’t walk there. Instead she just walks closer to her captain.

“Greetings captain Matsumura. Did the need for new painting or this auction bring you here?" Anya asked.

[967]

Greetings Captain Sayis

Hi, this is Picca, your fourth Seat. I am holding a sale of some posters and pictures on the weekend. I would really appreciate it if you would be willing to show up and help out. I'll give you further instructions if you decide to come. If you could, please dress nicely.
Striding through the crowds and perusing the various different types of photos, the tall, grey-haired shinigami went largely unnoticed without his trademark haori. Wearing straight pants and a simple black shirt, Sayis blended in somewhat more than normal. Walking through the various displays, there was a faint smirk on the Soutaichou's face. His long grey hair was tied back in his usual ponytail and his face -- minus the thin goatee -- was cleanshaven. Though moderately tall, he didn't quite stand out above the crowd.

Looking up at the unexpected announcement, Sayis chuckled. "Senesati and Tsubaki? Who would have thought they'd volunteer for something like that?" Casting one last glance at the table of photos, and not seeing what he was looking for, he made his way over toward the diminutive hostess.

Stepping up behind Picca, he said, "You do know I was only joking about raising your own funds, right? Although... I won't let you back out now that you're doing so well." With a short laugh, he added, "I imagine this auction alone will take care of the elevator."

[181/181]

Yuurei continued to examine the images one by one, and was amazed by how candid most of them were. It seemed to her as if the photographer took stalking as his or her primary occupation, else the person wouldn't have captured those moments -- at the right place and time. She drifted off from one tent to another, and thoroughly examined the pictures. In fact, Yuurei was too captivated, that she almost missed a greeting directed to her.

"Oh, wait, what?" She spun around, startled when she heard her name. Her auburn eyes scanned the area for the presence of an acquaintance, and found it almost immediately. She acknowledged his presence with a slight nod and spoke with a soft tone. "Hello there, Takeshi-san. I've found my way, thankfully. I almost forgot about the bazaar though."

Soon, a voice boomed, announcing the start of the 'special' event. It's that part already? Gosh, I must have missed a lot. She listened intently to the announcement and chuckled to herself.

Auctioning off a date with a captain? Now that's interesting... Yuurei tried her best to restrain her laughter. Whoever is hosting this event has a lethally brilliant idea. One heck of an idea for a fundraiser, I'd say.

"Oh right, Takeshi-san," she suddenly spoke as a recollection came to her, "In my short training with Honokaguchi-san from the Twelfth, he made mention of a girl named Anya, whom he introduced as a mutual friend of yours. Is she here, by any chance?"

[ 249 | 549 ]

Using Ilsa’s gracious offer to get back to his feet, the Adept chuckled nervously. "Thank you Maruyama for that. I apologize if I’ve caused any trouble. Ayumu has been playing too much hide and seek with his uncle, I’m afraid. Ah! Let me help you get those.” Moving over to help the other female shinigami pick up the fallen pictures, Haresuno sighed. "I really need to find the owner of these stalls and apologize for the mess. I-”

A feminine voice suddenly shouted, "550 kan!” to Picca’s offer. Another pipped up with, "600 kan for Captain Anenokoji!”

"Oh dear gods...” Suddenly, bids left and right started popping up from the crowd, and the din of voices fighting over each other was bothering the tall death god. Raising to his full height, Haresuno turned to see a very uncomfortable looking Senesati. Whether it was to being paraded or just being put up on auction he couldn’t say. "This doesn’t bode well in the end for you my friend.”

[683]

Lilith breathed in a sigh of relief. Once the auction for Senesati-taichou had begun, she realized the purpose of this little gathering -- a public selling of people other than her. And based on the clothes that Tsubaki-taichou and Sayis-soutaichou were wearing, Lilith knew that those two would be next.

...which gave her an idea.

Snickering to herself, the Tenth vice-captain skulked across the courtyard toward Ilsa. Though she couldn’t quite whisper in the taller woman’s ear, she still teased quietly, "Doesn’t Sayis-soutaichou look handsome today, Ilsa? He cleans up so nicely.”

[92/244]

"I don't know, I think Tsubaki looks pretty nice."

They all turned to see Ishin standing in the doorway. He was dressed up as well. He was wearing an ice blue button down shirt that matched his eyes, with a pair of grey slacks and a grey vest over top that both matched his hair. As he stepped in, his legs rattled, his chains still on. He was followed in by a few of his guards, but not as many as nearly were with him. He stopped next to Lilith and Ilsa, calmly scanning the room.

"Do continue. I find this sort of thing to be all in good fun."

“We would if we didn’t have such an obvious eavesdropper nearby,” Lilith teased. Her eyes held Ishin's before the woman chuckled and coyly shrugged a shoulder.

Curling her finger, she gestured for Ishin to lean down toward her. “But come here for a moment, Ishin-taichou.” The tall convict dropped down with an almost expecting sort of grin. Once his face was near hers, Lilith reached out and then straightened his tie and neatly folded down the collar of his shirt. Every so often, her fingers brushed delicately against his neck. “There, much better. You’re bound to pull in an extra five hundred kan now.”

[117/361]

A growl escaped Ishin's mouth for a moment, then he straightened up. There was a snicker to the side where his guards stood, but a quick glare from Ishin silenced it. He turned to look back at Lilith, a look of exasperation on his face.

"Hmmm....Yes well, who would want to spend any sort of time with such a callous person like myself? After all, I am the one they call the greatest criminal currently in the Gotei."

"Is that, is that so?" Picca asked Captain Sayis with a slight twitch in her eyebrow. Oddly enough, Captain Sayis did not strike her as the type to be kidding on stuff like this. She cleared her throat and returned to a pleasant expression. Everything was set up already so they are going to press forward. "Well, since you are here, you must have agreed to help. I hope you are ready."

Turning her attention back to the audience, Picca said, "Come now, don't be shy. Captain Senesati won't bite, or maybe he will if that's what you want." Thinking about it, she could probably do all three auctions at the same time.

"Och, Captain Sayis of the first is now here and I think we can just do all of the auctions simultaneously. Captain Senesati will be in the middle, Captain Tsubaki to the left and Captain Sayis to the right. Please shout at the respective staff members in front of each captain to bid," Picca announced through her megaphone. This would go much faster. It was Saturday after all and she wanted to enjoy her weekend.

[1588]

None of you bid, that makes me sadface. Anyway, all 3 will be open until saturday night, when this thread will close for grading.

jezuz there's a lot of you now. i think i'll be dipping out now.

The event had boomed up quite a great deal, apparently.

For a second, Kyuketsu thought his Captain was about to incinerate him for his rather ‘provocative’ response. Not another second passed when all of the sudden the hostess of the show declared that the Templar Queen and the Captain of the Eight were to be auctioned off for a date. Everything was beginning to get even hazier when a few more individuals arrived—the Captain Commander himself included. This was beginning to get all too surreal, and while the lieutenant was inclined to bid just for shits and giggles, he decided otherwise.

He paid for the items he bought, and all the familiar faces there were already seen. Holding the picture in his hands, the boy gave one last look to the still growing crowd before turning around to make his way off. He had nothing against social interactions, but in a cluster this big, he’d rather be at home relaxing.

626 - FINAL

Lilith cried, “I’d like to bid 500 kan for the Soutaichou please.” She beamed, stifling her need to giggle ferociously. Her eyes flicked to Ilsa’s when other voices from the crowd emerged.

“600!”

“700!”

“800!”

“Oh goodness, that was fast. I hope I brought enough. If I knew Sayis-soutaichou was going to be auctioned off, I would've come more prepared.” Lilith pulled a small wristlet from her robes and checked the cash. She flicked through several bills, counted, then nodded. Feeling satisfied, the vice-captain bid, “900.” The date with Sayis, of course, was a prize she intended to give to Ilsa if she won. Although Lilith didn’t tell her that, and she was somewhat curious to see if the valkyrie would bid against her.

As the offers kept coming, the dark-haired woman turned to Ishin and questioned, “I thought you were going to be auctioned off also..?”

[148/511]

A young man garbed in white robes arrived at the scene of the auction. A slight breeze whisked through the short over coat, exposing his solid muscular top mid-section even more. "Oho," he began with a hearty chuckle, "Now this is an awkward situation. My brother being auctioned off... on a date, no less." Goro glanced at the two women he heard bidding on his noble brother.

Well at least the two of them are exceptionally beautiful. The one with the higher bid is the better looking of the two. A satisfying smile etched on to his face as he discreetly surveyed the woman's top body. Nice...

The elder heir then glanced upon the woman on stage, next to his brother, who was draped with a nice dark dress. "Well, well, well. What do we have here?" he inquired amongst himself, "I always did want to see what it was like to date a woman that could best me in melee combat. Goro's smile got even wider as he raised his hand and slid it through his feathered locks.

The young noble raised the same hand in a gentle fashion and said in a deep towering voice, "I'll bid 1200 on the nice young woman up there."

Senesati smirked and glanced at the Queen Templar.

[215/453]
Note
For those of you wondering there is a ref pic and persona for Goro Anenokoji in my profile under the noble house section. Also he is dressed extremely similar to sene except he is wearing no shirt, just the coat.

When he looked around, he found many people flocking in front of a big tent bidding for something. Getting closer to it, he saw the soutaichou and two other captains all well-dressed, standing on a stage in front of the crowd. Not this eager to bid on something like that, he turned around to search for one of the helpers of the sale, so he could buy the two pictures he wanted.

Walking over the plaza he saw even more great pictures, until he finally found one of the cashiers. While he waited for the other people to finish their conversation with him, Mitsuhito looked at a nearby landscape photo. The photographer stood some kilometers away from a huge waterfall, inside a tropical forest. With a wide-angle lens chosen, the shot looked like you would be standing directly in that forest, it all felt so real.

When it was finally his turn to pay for the pictures he wanted, he took the cashier to the side, so that no one would hear about the "special” tent.

"Okay, one print of picture number twenty in the third tent and on of number thirteen from the special tent, both in A7 format please.”

After he paid for those prints, he put them away and went on his way back to the Twelfth Division, leaving the big plaza with all its tents and the sheer mass of shinigami flocking around. Now to get those pics back to my room without attracting any attention.

FINAL:[252/1006]

note
Okay that is it for me too then, my char is not into buying some date, but it was a funny collab nonetheless^^.
