Rather than having the discussion get lost on Discord, I thought it'd be good to gather thoughts and suggestions here.

We've brought it up a few times, and tried some things, but it's time again to look at potential ways to bring in new members, new writers.

Cross-posting is of course an option, and I'd like to hear your suggestions for places to cross-post (like ff.net), what should be cross-posted, how often, etc. I'd also like to hear other ideas for advertising or recruiting. Anything related to the topic, really.

r/Roleplay is one option for advertising, they allow one post every two weeks, and the subreddit has 40 thousand subscribers

I could revive my dead Twitter account and follow it and retweet stuff. I have to be careful w/ Twitter cause it makes me pretty ragey sometimes lol. I'd be willing to cross-post on Reddit or FFnet. I'd probably start with older material and make my way through it before doing new content since I've been slow to write as of late.

One suggestion I have is for us to track down our threads and put them in order to make for easier readership. A curated reading list might be of interest to those searching for a good read.

EDIT: I think if we collectively made a World Anvil account for the site it would be a great idea. It would be kind of like the Codex in some ways and allow us to share lore, characters, stories, art, etc. I'm also in their discord and can drop an invite if anyone would like.

So, I did suggest this on the Discord but if we did post on Fanfiction.net we could have some people post their characters stories from the beginning, some weeks multiple times a week and some weeks only once a week, itd be up to the Author themselves. We could have on the bottom of the posts be either a link to PT, a bit talking about the site or even going "If you want to catch up you can check out this site" and link to the characters' archive so they could catch up with that character.

Or something like that

These all sound like good plans to me. Regarding twitter, posting the content is just the first step. Unless there's active managing of the account, making it interact &retweet with other groups on the site so that people have opportunities to click on the profile & check out what it normally tweets it won't go anywhere.

Posting without interacting with related groups in some way on social media is akin to shooting bullets in the dark.

Ergo, I'll start retweeting stuff. It's been a minute since I've been to twitter but what's left of my followers might help spread us around.

Having looked over the options I personally think that Archive of Our Own would be a good place to Cross-Post our work. We should be able to make a Post Terminus tag so it'll make it easier for people to find it and possibly build interest. I am willing to start Cross-Posting there, but I'd like to build up my chapter count so as to have a cohesive story as well as having spare chapters to post for "Dry Weeks" where I have no idea what I'm going to be writing and might not even write that week.

However, I think that we should have more than one person posting on there. Not just to boost the amount of content for the tag but to also show people that it isn't just a one person show. That this is the collective work of a group of people who are passionate about writing.

I also think that consistency will be key to making sure that people stay interested and might even check out the site. I know that Will is currently working on a "Players Handbook" for Post Terminus and that could help greatly with outreach, making this game much more accessible to newbies. As it is when I have a friend asking about the game I answer what questions I can and link them to several pages from the site itself, which I can understand some could consider overwhelming.

The most important thing right now, however, is the fact that since most people are locked in at home and wanting something to entertain themselves with could prove to be an amazing opportunity for Post Terminus. If you're also willing to Cross-Post I would like to hear about it, just to see how many are willing to also help me show other people how amazing this community is.
