Could you see very dim heat signatures on the other side of walls in your divison HQ or are they to thick and only show up as black? Do shinigami give off heat?

yesh, shinigami will give off heat.
as for the walls, i'm guessing only, mind you, but I believe that if the heat isn't strong enough to emanate through the wall, that you won't be able to see it.
Like if there's this huge giant volcano on the opposite side, yeah, you'd prolly see that
however, i'd rather someone confirm that before you listen to me <.<

It depends on several factors which you have to judge for yourself. The amount of heat given off by the entity on the other side of the wall, how close it is to the wall, how long has it been near the wall, and what are the insulative properties of the wall (i.e. paper conducts heat better than concrete).
You usually have a lot of latitude with the story's setting, so you should be able to decide whether your character could see what's on the other side.

i was thinking about that shinpou after i posted the question. The reson why i asked this stuff is when i post my app. my guy just ditched work in the 4th divison to enjoy the day but found out he left something in his room so now he needs to sneak in.

Unless the person is against the wall, warming it up, that wall should appear black in heat vision regardless of what's behind it.
You may want to use Blue Eye, which senses reiatsu. I would still expect walls and such to obscure the vision, but you could in theory see through them to a degree.
