The plan is to keep username colors reserved for indicating user groups. However, there will be more of them in the near future, so there will be things you can do to get a new color.
As for other things, we'll have to discuss whether there's a way you can earn or request them. We do not want to have people spending in-game currency on cosmetic forum changes, though.
Being the owner of the site has its perks. If Will wants a fancy name, fine. I'm not liable to mix him up with any other usergroup, anyways.
We already have two 'currencies' to manage in the way of Exa and Bounty, and even getting both of those to work exactly how we wanted was a tedious act. There's a way to enable user titles in profile settings (so people can just go in there and change them themselves) that I'll activate.
Any other tweaks are pretty much out. As Will said, we're limiting name color to usergroups so that we can easily identify people at a glance, and even if we could try to throw a third currency into the mix (we can't), we don't want non-game items in the shop.
Custom User Titles are enabled. Just go to "Edit Profile" in settings and there will be a box to change it. Not sure if HTML markups work in there. Probably not.
