The Fracture

[WC] 1660
How does someone create a movement Vita thought to himself. His people were so far spread about the land of Araevis. The task seemed almost impossible and yet he never wanted anyone to feel the way he had encased in that ice again or under the harsh hand of his owner. The Demvir were slave no more. There was a current representation of Demvir, sure, but that voice could not speak for all of them when there was no them to speak of. Many voices quited by the vastness of separation. The struggle he foresaw was that of a lack of communication and unification between the people and those who represented them. Vita let out a soft chuckle at his internal ramblings.
Wasn’t that always the case, those who lead are never in touch with those being lead. A voice, one voice resonating across the continent for all to hear…. That is what we need in order to bring some order to this chaotic time.
Vita projected that a combination of enchanting, arcana, and alchemy would be needed to create a global communication network for at the very least, Demvir. This global communication would be the first step in establishing the Demvir as a global race that stood as one instead of these pocket factions.
Terminus, a city state not really in the hands of his people with the Corcillium taken from its roots in Cursus. Cursus, Vita’s home town. The town he discovered his purpose and rose up to claim his own way of life. How could the will of the fractional Demvir here be heard all the way in Terminus by a puppet counsel? Even Eleutheria was not truly pure Demvir from the start. A city state so far apart from the rest of the colonies that they might as well not even bother being present in the geo-political state of Araevis. Eruditio, land and room given to his people only because of the uprising. All of these Demvir establishments were free and yet still imprisoned from each other. Cursus was the most like a normal city with travelers and light trade. A group of Demvir that could be considered a militia and a large robot body count. He and his people had investment here and desired the first location of the uprising to be the Capital. The way the young artificer saw it their revolution had hardly begun.
Vita would need to put together a team of technical artisans capable of at least putting together the theory of such a device. However grand his plans were Vita would need to prepare for the journey he was setting himself out on.
The novice enchanter placed his robe on the work table in the center of his room. The pattern of the robe un-stitched so it lay as a large cloth once more its form barely noticable. Parchment taped to the wall pieced together with scribbled notes and formulas on it. Distillers and tubes heated dahlitium pulveris looped around and bubbled over flames. Steam pushed through tubes that became more narrow until the mixture of chemicals and liquidized pulverous extruded into a thin string like substance that wound itself along a spool.
The meticulous artificer inspected the formed string under a microscope. Along the thread were noticeably infused glints of power deeply embedded into it. He took the spool and attached it to a needle and began the careful work of stitching the thread into the body of his iconic black hooded robe. The power of the Kings Material seemed to weave into the basic fabric that constructed his garment. It took much time but what was undone was now remade to its former form as if it had never been torn apart to its pattern. Vita folded the cloth into a perfect square and placed it inside a circle. Around it was another circle with its side divided into three, at the top, middle left, and middle right. Two smaller circles with characters of enchantment surrounding them sat at the bottom of the construct. He placed his hands ceremoniously in the smaller circles as the characters sprang to life and danced in the air around him. Glowing a slight crimson as the enchantment pulled from his own vigor.
The robe no longer felt old or tattered from weather. The color seemed more pigmented and the overall fit of the garment was superior than it was before. The apex of his current skill used to construct and enhance his wardrobe. Better protected than he normally would be to the naked eye. A proverbial invisible defense. Admiring his work Vita let out a robotc predator like sound. To his back cauldrons bubbled with a variety of herbs releasing their medicinal properties into the water. They still had a while to simmer before he could begin concentrating their efforts into a usable salve. He stirred the rolling water as a dripper slowly added bits of dahlitium volantis each splash sending a sweet smell into the otherwise stale air of his workshop. Satisfied with the way things were brewing he made his way back over to his desk stacked high with parchment and letters from all over Araevis.
A novice at enchanting, Vita needed to seek a mentor or at the very least a guild so he could pull his own weight on this team he would eventually rally. From his understanding enchanting would be the easiest way to span communication across a large distance with its ability to span great distances and its key factor for being able to infuse magic into inanimate objects. Although advanced Vita had read a few books involving dimensional gateways, portals, and planar doors He understood virtually none of it but it did lend to his theory that someone somewhere knew a little bit about the theory. There were whispers of an Demvir enchanter far more skilled than he was, which was a welcomed rumor given Vita’s disposition toward others of different race. Omen, an obsessed well established enchanter with a name for himself among the Demvir last seen in the secluded desserts of Eleutheria. However being a student too soon did not sit well with Vita. Rummaging through papers he found a page with a star at the top left corner. Professor Seashat, studying a rare occurrence involving creatures able to separate their mind from their body with interesting effects. For some reason that research called to him. Call it artisans curiosity but he would take the long way around to get to the Demvir known as Omen. Candidly Vita did not care for a stroll in a vast desert with nothing to bring.
In the distant Copiae Ocean in Palagia there was a Velen who goes by the name of Goshmal Immortalium an alchemist prodigy said to have discovered the formula or anti-aging. Weather or not he actually did was irrelevant. Vita desires to talk to him about mediums strong enough to broadcast and delicate enough to receive some type of communication via mana. Alchemy was going to be the support base for whole system a type of magical processor converter. The crystal structure needed to be aligned, cut, and catalyzed to support the amount of mana Vita projected would be flowing through it and around it. Vita having a rudimentary background in alchemy himself had several minerals in mind but required the mind of an expert to help him navigate through the endless tempering and processes involved in achieving a stable product. He grabbed A stack of letters addressed to himself from Goshmal and placed them in his satchel. Gaining access to the city under the sea proved a task he had not yet thought around.
The final piece of the puzzle or at least the trinity that would allow it all to power on the arcane arts. Vita was torn between several practitioners that showed promise in the direction he believed the project needed. If enchantment was going to the bridge and circuitry and alchemy the power amplification catalyst and acting as the receiver then raw magic and its ability to transform abstract thought and desire into something tangible such as a rainstorm or in his case a telepathic message allowing communication across large distances would be its purpose. Halebel, located in the Denuntiares Mountains was a half-breed who studied how to draw power from the land resulting in harvistable mana as an energy source akin to volantis. However, there was a choice that needed to be made for in the opposite direction to the North in Hiemis was a set of siblings deep in the inquiry of magical formulas to generate energy from the elemental planes and maintain it within a phylactery. Both seemed sufficient in power for this global communication system Vita wanted to make.
Vitar did not idoly recognize the efforts of biologicals easily. These four artisans had warranted such. Now to convince them all to help him would be a separate task in itself. What was the carrot for these individuals that would bring them onboard? Each would need a different approach but the one thing they all shared was the obsession for their research and Vita could use that as an angle. Exhausted from brainstorming and having crafted the supplies needed for his first trip mostly Vita retired to his bed where he meditated on his hopeful correspondence with Omen. He waited for the chance to be his pupil but wished he would understand the need to take care of affairs before he could commit to moving. He crossed his legs, folded his hands, and with a mechanical hymn let out a soft pitched mantra that resonated off the decaying walls of the blacked out workshop. Mentally Vita prepared his vision as he saw it in his mind as he waited for his salvs to finish. In a few weeks he would leave this place leaving the stain of a memory behind.
Crafting
2 TR1 Volantis to make 4 strong healing salvs.
3 TR1 Pulveris to enchant my robe for defensive with 3 total charges T1 Pulveris (2) + T1 Enchanting = 3 charges per week. I would like to point out that with sufficient charges Vita can now reduce blows up by a factor of -2 to magnitude due to his racial passive and the enchantment.
