Over the past couple months, I've felt overwhelmed with stuff irl, so reviews are far behind. I'm starting with the kind of one-off pieces and then working up to the arcs (one arc in particular). You guys get to be the first. I would still prefer if you all more regularly read and commented on each others' work!
This is an odd one, I have to say. Laermont spoke as if he was familiar with Amanita, while she spoke as if they were just meeting, or at best vague acquaintances. Laermont himself has a persona that's rather difficult to nail down. He seems to change depending on the situation and who you're writing with. If I didn't know either of these characters, it might not strike me as so off-putting.
The title and the opening paragraphs set the stage for a very methodical collab. It was a nice way to touch base after the rescue, but otherwise didn't really make an impression. That's not necessarily bad, not every writing piece needs to be outrageous. It leaves little to really comment on, though.
