Thanoresonance: A+; Subject possesses an envious pool of potential thanoresonance and seems to have not reached his zenith. Since his capture, we have noted a nearly 2% growth in his thanoresonance rating. I find this a curious development, as the growth rate of most field agents and subjects we have tested seems to slow even more dramatically than this subject has shown. Fractional values of a percent are the standard, if not rule.
Combat Effectiveness: S+; As explained below, subject’s innate capabilities propel his combat effectiveness rating beyond expected parameters for thanonresonance levels.
Risk Factor: F-; Subject will not attempt to defy orders or flee custody. Psychological evaluations performed during testing reveal a deep seeded loathing of both known threats.
Deployment Risk: Too large to quantify. Subject seems capable of leveling an entire city if left unrestrained.
Discipline: Nonexistent; Subject does not seem capable of ‘restraint’ in the conventional sense. I am unsure after psych work if the subject is naturally predispositioned to this behavior or if the nature of his unusual attributes makes it impossible to be so. Regardless, when the subject uses its capabilities, it uses them to the fullest extent. More interestingly, analytics provided by the General suggest this subject can reach the fully connected state with unprecedented alacrity, transitioning nearly instantly from burgoening use of thano based talents to fully wielding his abilities. If we could discern how this is accomplished, it is likely we could develop modifications to our own field operatives. This, however, treads on a dangerous line of ethics. If we force a growth of capability into our field operatives, do we remove a portion of their humanity in the process, and, would such an augmentation also cause similar psychological trauma in them to what we have observed in this subject? In the end, this is obviously not my decision, but I implore those considering this vein of research and using this reference document to carefully consider the repercussions of implementing such a vein of research.
Supervisor: General Fujikawa; This subject is not to be deployed unless direct orders are given from the General himself or the ruling government body. This is both due to the catastrophic effects of previous deployments of this field operative and the notable link shared between he and the General. While generally uncooperative and unwilling to associate with rank and file members of the Initiative, the subject seems to take, and act, on orders from the General with unexpected earnestness. This is a relative level of adherence, however, and even in this case the subject’s willingness to cooperative is minimal in comparison with standard evaluation rubrics. Along these lines, if we were able to develop a means of limiting the power use of a subject, we may better be able to restrain the output and unintended effects of the subject’s deployment. However, due to his ability to quickly reach full potential, and the seemingly limitless physical prowess displayed in the review of our field data, even this may not be enough. However. I believe the value in researching such a tool extends beyond, while still including this subject. Were we able to apply a restraining mechanism to the enemy, we might be able to finally bring one back alive. To do such would open avenues of research and exploration previous unprecedented in the Initiatives RD efforts.
Subject Analysis
The subject is a puzzle the likes of which I have not seen in many years since taking my post. While his raw physicality seems literally insurmountable, there are surprisingly large gaps in his development process. While possessing resources matching and beyond that of senior field operations officers, the subject seems incapable of performing a number of tasks these officers would find menial. Reaction speeds and standard mobility are abysmal when compared to Officer #867102, however, this is our most able subject in such areas. However, this gap in capability remains when comparing the combat metrics to even lesser proficient subjects.
This is confounding, however, as the subject clearly displayed an enhanced speed in its contest against #00342, “The Many”. Near the finale of that confrontation, there is a clearly depicted scene in which the subject attacks with a blow that moves faster than the human eye can track. It was literally a phantom punch, however, high speed optics were barely able to discern the movement pattern of his arm. This is, admittedly, partially due to obstructions to the vantage point due to the conflict area being saturated with debris, however, first hand reports clearly state that there was an ‘invisible punch’ performed, veryfing what the camera implies. This however, was clearly either unused or impossible for the subject for most of the confrontation.
However, the fact that he seemed to ‘overwhelm gravity’, or perhaps simply defy it though I truly believe the former, suggest a level of physical potency unmatched since this Initiative’s inception. As described below, several test procedures were performed with undesirable results regarding this.
Strength factor: Unrecordable. Subject was capable of breaking even measuring devices tuned for the S tier thanoresonance resources. Additionally, we had to rebuild the support pillar we had previously used to secure the testing mechanism, as the subject’s ‘push’, as observation showed he did not punch as instructed, fractured the column. The sheer amount of newtons of force required to do this should be well beyond reach of even augmented humans, yet, here is proof that is not the case. To coin a rustic phrase, he hits like a truck.
Suggested Armament: It is highly advised R and D spends sufficient research cycles to arm the subject with weaponry incapable of being wielded by standard field resources. This is not only due to the subject’s large, available pool of thanoresource, but additionally a peculiar quirk in his use of it. During the standard testing regimen, one applier noted that when he attempted to apply a nonstandard compression measurement technique which was board approved to more accurate gauge the subject’s raw physical strength, the coil spring was exerting nearly a half a measure of gravity on the subject: .457g. Newtonian physics tells us this is equivalent to a car crash traveling nearly the speed limit! But most interesting of all, is observations clearly show the subject did not move during this exertion test. The pressure simply did not have an impact on his physical body. The disdainful expression and casual leaving of the test area suggest that short of attempting to hit him with full sized 18 wheel vehicles or APC, accurate and safe testing conditions are not possible. Subject was unwilling to explain how this was possible or being achieved. However, if we can have a research request granted to further explore this behavior, it is quite likely the propulsion and transportation mechanisms of the Initiative could be utterly redefined.
Consider that if the subject is able to ignore 1g worth of force, he is quite literally ignoring the law of gravity. Something that can ignore the law of gravity shatters the theory of relativity and opens avenues of research previously impossible to explore. Time travel. Thrustless flight. Galactic exploration.
Update: This research notion has been denied. The oversight committee has ruled that the resulting information and scientific explanations stemming from this vein of experimentation could have shattering consequences on the life in the solar system, including potential extinction level events. Additionally, due to the subject's unwillingness to cooperate, there would be unacceptable political and social consequences to the Initiative.
Assessment of abilities: In addition to the discussed observations, it seems the subject is capable of being subjected to lethal, impossible to survive wounds without suffering catastrophic damage. One such test was a point blank shot to the cranium with our highest powered rifle. Those reading this must understand that the subject was fully informed, and all appropriate liability claims were discussed and presented. Further, other attempts to explore this capability had met with utter failure. Standard tools simply failed to cause bodily harm, until the subject requested that we literally ‘shoot me in the head with the biggest gun you’ve got.’
The subject was wounded for several seconds, but neither died nor was stopped by the impact. Again, lesser tests proved fruitless, innate ability to mitigate incoming effects to his physical form negated all results of more standard and safe testing. However, this ability seems to be tied with the quantity of thanoresource available to the subject, as the General’s after action report on this particular Agent shows that, “when spent of power, he was as nearly as fragile as the rest of us.”
Of particular interest, the subject seems willing to allow testing and measure of this ability, and if we can achieve even rudimentary replication, I think that Agent #001006 could integrate this feature into his latest achievement to field an autonomous artificial combatant even more effective at the dispatch of our enemies
Reviewer conclusion: This subject is too valuable not to deploy, and yet, too unreliable to deploy. Its a catch 22. However, if the situation is dire enough to warrant billions in reparations, I suggest we make him a field operative. The single reason that this is recommended is the subject seems to harbor no intent or desire to cause harm to earth-based organisms, including human beings. Refused to use test animals as measuring tools in tests, or even engage in simulated combat with existing field agents. All initial data regarding his performance capabilities are measurements and recorded analytics from the operation to capture the subject. Further tests were performed with consent, which was regrettably few.
