I see part 2 is here, and this is the start of the investigations. The same as any good officer, Laermont has a lot of connections and informants that help him find out information. Perhaps Yulia feels too convenient considering just how much help she gave them. The officers could just use her list directly, and it even comes with a rating for each suspect.
I enjoyed the part where all of the officers put their boots on the ground and was ready to crack some heads. It was some solid grunt work scenes that played out well.
There are a few sudden and unmarked scene changes. Perhaps there were special marking in the original document, but they didn't copy and paste over here.
It feels like Laermont and Calvinia's investigations are moving along at a good pace. They are starting to get more of the situation and how serious it just might be. Thus far, nothing has been too mysterious, but the investigative and interrogation scenes are fun.

Again mostly going to echo Fin's thoughts. I do want to make a note here that I want to talk about Solaviskar, but I'm going to save those thoughts for the final part. It's nice to see that thorough investigation pays off, though, bringing the team close to finding their culprit without feeling too easy. It's much more satisfying than just stumbling onto the answer, and also leaves room for inspired sleuthing to stand out when it happens.
