A while back, I wrote about the game, Finding Teddy. It was a short little adventure where you went into a mysterious world to find your lost teddy bear. Now that girl has grown up, and the world needs her help to protect it from an evil sorceror. She now has a sword and shield and is all badass.
In a genre shift, we action platformer now. yeomen. Find it on Steam.

All screenshots come from Steam’s official page as I do not have any.
This game keeps the musical language from the first game, though it simplifies it down. You still need to go around learning the language, getting new things to say. And you use that to interact with the locals and invoke some effects.

This time around, you’ll be swinging your sword and defending with a shield. The game never tells you how to defend with a shield, though. Somehow, you got to figure it out, because some enemies become much simpler if you know how to defend.
Combat is simple in the game. You have a few attacks, not that high range, and you don’t pick up new equipment. You can upgrade with gems, but the basic skills are what you’ll have throughout the game.

While simple, combat is solid and works well. You have to be careful with spacing or get smacked in the face by enemies. There is a good variety and it gets challenging as the game progresses. Movement has momentum, so you can’t turn on a dime. It gives a bit of a slower pace to the game where you need to consider actions.
The game takes you through several locals, each one a different atmosphere with new challenges. You fight through enemies, solve puzzles and collect a fragment from each land that helps you face the evil sorceror. There’ enough variety and progression that I was engaged the whole way through.

Chronicles of Teddy is a simple action platformer. It doesn’t try to do too much or reinvent anything. It is solid and builds upon the mechanic from the first game while branching out in gameplay.
Oh, and be ready to face the boss at the end of each area.

Find it on Steam.
