A surprise part 2! Nothing has changed between when I wrote the previous part and now, but there are some things I wanted to mention. They are mostly small and would bog down the partial review, so I decided to put them here. Oh, there is one major thing I forgot to talk about in the partial review, and that is the controls. So I’ll get into that here, too.
So come back into Dreamlight Valley for a bit longer.

The controls are something I should have put into the partial review. I play this game on the computer, but I use an Xbox controller to play it. However, I have also tested out the mouse and keyboard, and the UI works great with it. In fact, there are some things that I can only accomplish with the mouse and keyboard (to my knowledge). For instance, reorganizing the inventory is doable with dragging and dropping. No such action can be done with the controller. It is also much easier to decorate using the mouse than a controller I think, as you have more precise movements. The game is built to be controlled either way, and both ways work well.
There is also a clothing designing feature. There, you can create your own clothes by using colors and patterns that are collected from around the game. I only used it for a bit, but I have seen some cool stuff other people have made. It feels robust enough to get most of your ideas out, as long as your idea isn’t tie-dye.

Like any good Disney hero and heroine, you can also get an animal companion! You can feed wild critters running around the town, and once they like you enough, you can choose one to follow you around. They don’t do anything, but you can pet them for fun.
For some reason, any time you start to fish, the nearest townsperson will zoom over to watch you. They’ll cheer when you catch a fish, too. Perhaps the game thinks just standing there fishing will be too lonely and boring, so they add someone watching you for companionship.
There are some features I would like to see expanded, such as the radio. For right now, you just cycle through a bit of generic music. Maybe licensing full Disney songs would be too much money for the game, but it would be cool. Or even just give it a track selection for music already in the game.
Alright. That is all of my random thoughts about the game that didn’t need to go into the partial review.
