A while ago, I reviewed the game Papa’s Freezeria Deluxe, read here. This is from the same franchise, a simple, casual little management game. As the name implies, you are running a pizza restaurant this time around. Based on the series of free Flash games, this is an updated and upgraded version. I believe the Pizzeria was originally the first game of the series.

So Papa’s Pizzeria Deluxe is a simple game where you take orders and make pizza. The basic gameplay stays the same, but you steadily unlock new ingredients over the course of the game. And also the cast of customers also grows. Now I mentioned that the previous game was sort of easy. This game actually feels harder without much being done to change things.

In this game, customers overlap more, so you’ll be working on orders more frantically than before. Also, customers are real picky about topping placements. You are graded on how well you cook the pizza, as in don’t overcook or undercook it. How well you place ingredients. Customers can want a certain amount of ingredients on certain sections of the pizza. For example, they’ll ask for eight and exactly eight pepperoni. As more and more toppings come into place, you’ll need to be careful about topping placement. Of course, you can take your time, but then orders will start piling up.
Other things they’ll judge you on are how well you sauce and cheese the pizza, and lastly, how accurate your cuts are. Put it all together, and you have a simple game with a nice amount of challenge. It’s not hard, but you do have to pay attention.

Breaking up the end of each day is a chance to play minigames for rewards such as clothing customization for your worker or restaurant decorations. There are returning minigames from Freezeria Deluxe as well as new minigames. It does help give you something else to do other than make pizzas and is a good break from the gameplay loop.

Papa’s Pizzeria has fun presentation. From a new holiday every so often to decorate for to ever unlocking ingredients or customers, it is a charming game with lots of style. I like how certain customers have favorite holidays and will dress up specifically for them. It is a simple, easy to get into game.
