[11th/11th] Week ---: Challenge Match: Alexia Felone da Firenze vs Reijuu Kyuketsu

"Even now, only hearing what you want to." Her gaze wavered between rage and the same tired annoyance that Kyuketsu seemed to so effortlessly coax from her as of late. "But if this petty contest of showmanship is more important to you than the life of one of your own?"

She shook her head purposefully, casting a wayward glance to Alexia who continued to remain silent. "Then you're not the man I thought you were."

The former Captain sheathed her blade with a tired sigh, turning her attention back to Kyuketsu immediately after. "You want a shot at me that badly? We'll do it proper. I'd hate to be uncouth." Tsubaki walked off without another glance back at the two, letting the biting arctic winds and sheets of drifting snow envelop her in solitude.

As the deposed Queen of the Templars disappeared from sight a single sentence resonated in the mind of the man who now wore her Haori.

And I will remind you of what it means to call yourself a Captain.

My thoughts exactly.

When Tsubaki decided it was time to pretend to be the Eleventh’s Captain again, the Mystic leader was saddened to not have her popcorn warm or her decedent soft drink handy. Talk about trouble letting go, the Templar essentially had declared herself arbiter of the match, something that Adelaide considered rested solely in the hands of the Soutaichou as one of the event’s organizers. It was even more fun, and interesting, to see Kyuketsu test the psychopath’s supposition that she was somehow in charge of something.

“It seems Miss Mabara has learned to limit herself to one treasonous act per month,” the Briton remarked mostly to herself, but at least slightly to those around her as well, “I think we can be remarkably grateful for this.”

“Ever so melodramatic,” he said out loud for all to hear, uncaring whether or not the woman heard him.

Kyuketsu glanced at the Tenth’s newly appointed commander, then onto the other spectators before finally laying his eyes on the battered figure that made up Alexia.

“Well, it would seem that any sort of catharsis or lesson to be learned for today has been thoroughly ransacked. Shame.” He shrugged, a sour, disappointed expression making up his features. “I suppose, at the very least, she spared you your arm, so that’s still something.”

He sheathed his sword before advancing away from the cluster of soldiers, heading off back home.

“Let the audience decide the victor. My interest in this fight has dropped to zero, unfortunately.”
