Scarcely a few days had passed since she stood in this exact spot - now freshly restored - gazing up. The monolith was as impressive and daunting as ever, the Vizard's mark on the world still incapable of being removed in its entirety.

Her onyx hair was restrained in a low ponytail, the ends still singed from her previous match. Her eyes, charcoal and matching her hair, seemed to flicker occasionally with an amber gleam. The day was bright, cheerful. She hoped her match would reflect it, she'd had quite enough of the doom and gloom.

Her jacket was tied about her waist, the sleeves hugging her hips as her long-sleeved olive shirt rippled lightly in the soft wind. Scratching at the back of her neck, she tried to ignore the phantom aches of her previous round. Her wounds were freshly healed once more, the grievous pains far too much to continue naturally.

The soft chime of her opponent arriving sounded behind her, an almost mirror of her match against Nana. The Senkaimon yawned open softly, admitting what would be the second captain she would fight into the fresh Tokyo air.

Taking a single deep breath, she called to the woman opposite her. "Adelaide Pierce? I'm Nenshou Mouko, a pleasure to meet you."

She flashed the Captain a smile, slowly clearing the distance so she wouldn't have to shout.

The Captain emerged, as she often did, absent the white coat that draped her colleagues. She instead wore her normal, everyday shihakushou. Her bangs were held framing her face in fire red by two emerald butterfly hairpins, and the flaming hair formed a flowing ponytail behind her. Eyes that matched the hairpins fell on her adversary, and the familiar monolith of metal.

“These tournament organizers are just getting lazy, eh? I seem to remember we both had fights here last round,” and both against Captains, people stronger than them that they managed to overcome. Defeating Nana had to be no small feat, and she looked so good it was hard to imagine her breaking a sweat. Thankfully, where Nana was a one-trick pony mostly relying on blinding speed, Adelaide was a little more versatile. Still, it was an intimidating prospect.

She tried not to show it though. “I’m Adelaide, and you’re Mouko, right? Pleased to meet you,” she offered a polite, very Japanese bow. It was nice fighting someone who had manners; she had been lucky in that respect, most of the fights she watched were so impolite and underhanded that the courtesy she had given and received in combat was something she rather enjoyed.

There were some decision she had already made about this fight. Mostly based on her experiences with limiters lately. She was going to need ot diversify her approach dramatically to avoid burning out, and she was going to need to probably keep distance close. Her trip to Kaliningrad a year back taught her all she needed to know about modern weaponry – bullets were a lot faster and more accurate these days.

Introductions out of the way, a silence settled over the pair briefly. Mouko's smile never left, but it became more of a challenging one, ready to accept the next challenge to overcome.

"Shall we, then?" She remarked.

A flash of energy emanated from the woman, vermilion and warm. From it, two sparks of flame leapt away, growing and shaping into recognizable forms. Ryou and Ishi, her twin tigers, manifested. Their fur held a dull luster, the sun casting rays through the translucent shell to refract the energy swirling within. To Adelaide, it looked almost as though the beasts were aflame.

The first, Ryou, nuzzled Mouko briefly, before turning eager eyes to the other combatant. The other, Ishi, paced slowly to the side, ready to scoop up his master at a moment's notice. Almost nonchalantly, Mouko withdrew Mercy from its holster at her right hip, leaving her rifle slung across her back. She checked the chambers, satisfied to see all eight filled with their Cryo Rounds.

Withdrawing her knife, Plan X, from her opposite hip, she settled into a wide stance. Her energy, weakened significantly from the round prior, would need to be carefully conserved. Managed and distributed with all the care of a Cerberus Agent, and all of the devastation of an Orpheus Soldier.

"When you're ready, Miss Pierce." She challenged.

Ryouki
σ Companion Flame

In a flash of energy, two tigers coalesce from Mouko's energy. Their fur is a soft vermilion, slightly translucent, allowing others to see the swirling energy held within. The tigers are intangible by nature, capable only of being interacted with naturally by Mouko herself. When an ability is in use, the energy within their forms glows, giving them the appearance of being aflame. Their physical speed is considered akin to that of a normal tiger.

Yaru

Yaru - "Kill"
Paying 800 of her reiatsu per use, Mouko infuses one of her tiger companions with energy. They become tangible to the world around them, gaining half of her attacking stat for the purposes of a single attack. If the attack misses, or the tiger is damaged significantly, the ability ends and it reverts to an intangible state.
Karu

Karu - "Hunt"
Paying 3% of her reiatsu per use, Mouko infuses one of her tiger companions with energy. They remain intangible, but gain speed inherent to Mouko's own until the ability is dispersed or exchanged for Yaru. While in use, Mouko may use her Agility techniques through the affected tiger while mounted, or off of the affected tiger as a platform.
Naru

Naru - "Roar"
As Mouko's ability to manipulate and utilize reiryoku becomes more natural, she becomes capable of discharging it violently through Naru. Paying 10% of her reiatsu, she discharges an explosion of energy around her or one of her created companions for a 10m radius.
Naru

Power flowed into Adelaide’s sword, which she drew rather slowly, not engaging just yet, “Are those real tigers? I would hate, absolutely hate, to harm actual tigers. That’d just be heartless, wouldn’t it?” Also, three on one might’ve explained the failure of Amaterasu Nana to defeat this human. Though she still liked her odds given how weakened the Captain sensed the lieutenant was. But this wasn’t going to be as clean a fight as her previous rounds had been.

A quick, cursory glance around her surroundings held that the Spire area had been repaired, something that the Mystic Captain wasn’t exactly fond of. Not enough rubble meant not enough ammunition for her telekinesis, and that was problematic, especially with how limited she was. Tearing some of these buildings down would’ve been helpful for her. Or skewering her on the Spire itself, which had been effective in her fight against Kyuketsu.

She tossed her katana in the air and caught a scythe, a particularly showy way of releasing her shikai she had always been fond of, and offered Mouko a smile, “I’d hate to do irreparable damage to an endangered species.” It was clear she meant the tigers, but she almost wished she were fighting a Quincy so the remark could’ve been a witty double-meaning. She pushed off the ground into a quick movement, dashing into one of the abandoned buildings in the battlefield, close to the spire. She wanted a closed space; somewhere long-range combat abilities were limited. And somewhere her abilities could be more effective.

Kenkyouka [Sword Empowerment]
Utilizing their own kidou energy, the practitioner has the ability to cast a kidou spell onto their blade; if cast silently, bypass rules apply as normal. Once the blade comes in contact with the opponent, the spell will automatically activate. Whatever damage or effects are done by sword and spell, will be unleashed on to the opponent. With continuous use of the technique, the caster will gain the ability to have two spells imprinted on their blade at one time, once the user gains 5k kidou or zanjutsu stat. The spell counts against the user's casts in the round it is imbued, not in the round it is released. The imbued spell cannot be released until the user's following turn at the earliest.

Mouko's tongue clicked dryly against the bottom of her mouth at the remarks, wishing she had any witty banter saved up for the fight.

The movement was swift, the Captain's feet carrying her sidelong... but not quickly enough. Mouko's revolver snapped sideways, leading the woman along its firing line before the Major squeezed the trigger.

The round bellowed from the firearm's muzzle, the soft crackle of the Cryo Round deafening her for a moment before the round bore down upon Adelaide's knee. The tigers moved as well, another flash of energy bathing one in life and power as they lunged forwards.

Ryou pounced high, maw wide and claws bared to rake across his prey's chest. Ishi moved sidelong, waiting for the result of the preliminary assault.

She was thankful for her years of advanced perception, and how accurate guns had gotten. Once the weapon was pointed, she was reacting already, moving her staff to intercept the bullet. Clinging of steel impacted by lead rang out, and a patch of ice formed on the pole of the Captain’s scythe. Can’t keep that up, she ducked inside the structure near the Spire, step into my parlor. “Blue Mist,” she shouted as she entered, the thick dark blue clouds filling the world as the Captain disappeared from view.

It was needed, the shinigami figured as part of her distinct calculations. The more she denied Mouko the ability to fight at a range, the less effective guns were. No matter how good Adelaide was with her scythe at closer to her target, the gun always had the power at range. And if fighting Kyuketsu taught her anything, it was that she had to deny comfort to her enemies, she had to obfuscate and diminish their potential. She was, for all intents and purposes, treating the gunner as a stronger adversary, one that needed subterfuge to defeat. Heads-up, the redheaded Captain decided, she could not win. But some of her old tactics would work wonders, right?

Ijouness
Ijou Ittouryoudan [Exceeding Cutting In Two With One Stroke]
With greater mastery comes greater prowess. These Zanjutsu specialists are able to bring their true skill to bear when facing off against their enemies' attacks. Rather than merely splitting an attack, the user delivers a series of rapid attacks that utterly destroy the enemy's attack.
Usable against techniques and abilities up to twice the cost of Ijou Ittouryoudan, this technique costs 750 reiatsu to use.

Blue Mist
Bakudou #2, 25 Kidou
Covers a 3m radius area with a thick blanket of blue mist, which centers on the target, making it virtually impossible to see normally. The mist lasts for 10 seconds initially, but gains an additional ten seconds for every 100 the user has in kidou.
The range of the move also increases to 12m when the user reaches 1000 in kidou.

A soft, "Tch" came from the young woman, before she holstered her revolver. Hit-and-run was her methodology, and it wouldn't work on her anytime soon. The lack of offensive play from the Captain was concerning, given Nana's brutal assaults, but Mouko pushed it to the back of her mind.

Refocusing, she slung her rifle forward. The Draugr's birch-white furniture was as pristine as ever, the immaculate weapon surprisingly unloaded. Reaching to her leg, she grasped at a small string of magazines strapped about her calf, removing one to slide it crisply into the catch.

Pulling back the slide, she retrieved a small tube from her jacket pocket. Affixing it to the top, she pressed a small button on its side, a soft whine bringing the Battlefield Illuminator to life.

A messy smear of reds, yellows, and blues could be seen through it. The distinct smear of dark red that retreated into the newly formed mist was all she needed. A small smirk worked its way onto her face. Smile, wait for the flash.

Steam hissed from the shock pads of the Draugr, the segmented stock slamming into her shoulder as she squeezed the trigger. Raw energy condensed into a small point, before exploding from the barrel in a brilliant line of energy. The capacitor in the rifle siphoned away at the remnants of the energy, the Lawbringer round shredding through the building Adelaide took refuge in without the faintest hints of slowing.

Battlefield Illuminator
An accessory that allows for better vision in low light areas, total darkness and in situations where the user’s vision is impaired due to extreme brightness (eg; fallout from a flash grenade). Usable for both in and outdoor operations, this tool is available as both a monocular as well as a gun-top attachment. Features three vision modes; night vision, infrared and polarized view. Specially designed reiatsu capacitors mean that this accessory doesn’t require batteries, as it works via the user’s spiritual energy!

Effect: Night vision allows the user to see in low-light. Infrared allows the user to see heat signatures. Polarized vision allows the user to see in extremely bright environments. Only one viewing mode may be active at any given time. Costs 50 Reiatsu per turn for each turn active.

“Mage Eye, Red,” the Captain closed her eyes to accommodate to her own lure, and that casting’s moment of distraction was enough to slow her down, to make her unable to react in time to block or completely avoid the thunderous round that tore through the building she had taken refuge in. It also passed, rather cleanly, through her shoulder. Not that she thought this fight was going to be, by any stretch, easy but she would’ve liked not being shot. The red-hot pain in her shoulder was likely going to impair performance slightly, but hopefully, she reasoned, not much worse than the minor scrapes and burns most of her body was littered with.

A large, rather angry looking, hunk of wall sailed with just as much certainty and destructive potential right back out of the hole left behind by its newfound freedom, aiming for the woman whose big ol’ hunk of firepower had knocked it and many of its friends free. And as it sailed out from the mist-filled building, a few more hunks of wall followed it, all bearing down on what the redhead’s red eyes saw through the thick blue haze. Two could play that game, and it was a game the Captain needed to play until she was ready for an all-out assault. Soshi, she figured, was going to be obscenely useful in this fight.

While her hunks of stone and metal shot through the air, vengeance clearly their intent, the shoulder-shot shinigami started up a set of stairs to the building’s second floor. The more walls between her and that gun the better. And thanks to Mage Eye she hoped she would see the next shot coming in enough time to do something about it. A rather important part of being shot is the desire not to get shot a second time.

By now the mist was already almost cleared, a horrible side-effect of the terms of combat the Captain agreed to. The power of Mage Eye would only buy her so much more time. Hell, the power she had put into her sword had already dispersed. She needed to plan in seconds, not in minutes, and that meant a hell of a lot more running.

kidou and tech
Mage Eye
Bakudou #5, 35 Kidou
Upon casting, the user selects a spectrum, either Red, Blue or Green. The user's eyes start turn the selected color, distorting their vision.
With red eyes, the eyes are tuned to track heat signatures, viewing things in the infrared spectrum.
With green eyes, the eyes are tuned to see in relative darkness, acting like night vision goggles. Ambient light is greatly magnified, allowing the user to see in great darkness.
With blue eyes, the eyes are attuned to a spectrum of reiatsu, similar to heat vision. Objects which have no reiatsu or have cloaked reiatsu will appear as black, while sources of reiatsu glow blue.
The spell lasts until the user cancels it.

Soshi [Elements]
Soshi refers to the purest elements of the spiritual realm that culminate into telekinesis -- the most basic, fundamental ability required of a shinigami to become a Mystic. A shinigami's journey in the Tenth begins with a keen awareness of the universe and an exceptional talent in reiatsu manipulation. The Mystic must be able to harness their spiritual energy and apply it in anomalous ways to the physical world.
With Soshi, the Mystic learns to move objects with their mind. Its range of effect is within a 15-meter radius. Soshi is capable of lifting large, bulky objects like wardrobes or benches with ease; at 5,000 reiatsu, this extends to being capable of lifting and throwing objects up to a mid-sized car. It costs the Mystic 200 reiatsu to perform this ability per turn. The reiatsu of others acts as a repellent to this ability, therefore, at no point can Soshi be used to levitate other spiritual creatures or people

Eyes narrowing, the Major gave a grunt of exertion as the first rock shattered against her head... to reveal her unharmed form.

Now the woman was suspecting Adelaide was simply toying with her, an impatient frown on her face. The rest of the rubble collided heftily against her, sending her skidding back a few steps, but leaving her unmarked. Her skin, toughened by the constitution of all Advents, had seen much worse.

Shouldering her rifle once more, she peered at the ascending form of the Captain, a low click of her tongue accompanying another bout of steam. The Draugr hissed, another gout of condensed power piercing into the building at the center of Adelaide's mass.

True Grit (500), you got some knockback but pretty much no damage.

Another Draugr Lawbringer (1000), Battlefield Illuminator is still active on infrared, capacitor maxed at 500 reiatsu.

Seeing heat helped, and though the power flickered and died it gave Adelaide enough of a heads-up to deflect the bullet with the staff of her scythe. She couldn’t keep this up. She just couldn’t. The redhead needed to blast the hell out of this girl instead of playing whack the bullet. She could shoot through anything short of zanpakutou steel, and that wasn’t good. But as long as she was being tracked, surprise wasn’t going to be on her side.

So distraction would need to be. Oh, this is going to hurt like hell. Man, if Adelaide was going to lose this fight, she was going to lose it on her terms, supposed the Mystic. Noticing a floor-to-ceiling window, the Captain broke into a run. I suppose I’ve always wanted to do this, she thought with a smile, though she knew this was going to be more pain than spectacle.

Only inches from the glass, the Captain shouted defiant toward the entire world, “Radiant Run!” The Briton aimed her wounded arm down at the gun-loving human and a bright light flared out. And so did Lashiel’s power. But the alluring Mystic vanished. The Lierutenant had to be familiar with combating speed – Nana likely made the woman more than accustomed to Flash Blossom, but speed had to make sense, it had to follow rules, it had to break the window. Adelaide didn’t need to break the window. She didn’t need to make sense. She just appeared where the light touched – behind the human.

With a hearty swing, the Captain brought the scythe down on the Lieutenant’s gun-arm. Win or lose, Adelaide had to run away immediately after the attempted strike. She didn’t want the tigers tearing her apart. Hopefully, the combined surprise of her magic and the distraction of Lashiel’s power would draw Mouko’s attention away from the pretty woman’s tactical retreat.

Radiant Run
Bakudou #65, 1350 Kidou
After chanting this kidou, the user emits light from one hand-- The user can instantly move themselves to any point illuminated by that light. The light can be reflected by a clever user, making this kidou able to cross vast distances instantly. If they know the area well, they can travel up to 100m.

Fallen Allure
Lashiel can inflict a group of enemies with what any good seducer would: lust. At the initial cost of 10% Adelaide’s Reiatsu she can inflict any single target within five meters with a powerful... we’ll call it infatuation. The effect varies in strength based on the relative power of her adversary. Adelaide can, if she so chooses, extend this effect for up to five turns. At any time, a person may pay Reiatsu equal to Adelaide’s investment to rid themselves of this affliction.

The beam of light shone true and straight, Mouko ducking sideways away from the perceived attack. Her eyes widened as the Captain appeared before her. Teleportation..!

Her hand brought her revolver up, finger on the trigger. Her eyes caught the woman as the sun played across her face, the gleam of her scythe. Her eyes, beautiful. Her hair, lustrous. A blush crept across Mouko's features.

Mouth dry, the young woman tried to vocalize, to make right the feelings in her heart and what. The scythe blade dug into her arm deeply, scraping roughly against the bone and dragging a surprised cry of pain before her mouth contorted into a single, befuddled word. "What."

The blade withdrawn, Adelaide made good her retreat as Mouko nursed her arm. She tried to find the wherewithal to focus, to bring her mind into straight terms. Gods, why was she acting like this? Was she really into women like that? She stared after the Captain's form, before feeding her companions energy.

Ryou and Ishi had no qualms where the Major was transfixed, and took heartily after their prey. They ducked and pounced, each aiming to tear the fiery-haired woman apart for injuring their master.

Well, she supposed it was about time those tigers made themselves useful. Still she’d have liked them to do so by returning to the wild and restoring environments, and not by trying to kill her. You can’t always get what you want, the Briton shot a quick, alluring smile to the human. Through the window she had teleported through, a floating table burst, raining shattered glass down on the area below. Adelaide was going to need to turn this game of chess into a three-dimensional battle to handle disadvantageous odds.

The Captain waved to the oncoming tigers with all the charm she could manage; “Bye!” and with a flash-step closed the gap between herself and the floating table. At the end of her slipstream she tossed herself on the desk-sized hunk of wood, riddled with shards of glass that sliced up her arms and legs slightly but not worse than anything else this tournament, and carried both the desk and herself up awat from the tiger’s pouncing range.

Why haven’t you received my majesty yet, child?

It was a fair question. This human had bested Amaterasu Nana. Adelaide shouldn’t have been giving her any quarter. Still it felt... early. “Soukatsui!” the Captain aimed one arm toward the gunslinger and shot out a powerful burst of blue light which bore down in a beautiful, malevolent way. It was hard to tell which of them had the advantage at the moment, which to the Captain was as good as saying she didn’t. Something needed to change. She needed overwhelming force. Lashiel was right about that, at least.

Shunpo [Flash Step]
A commonly taught skill for the Shinigami. Though it may be learned at an early level, mastering the technique is another story entirely. The initial level of shunpo is a burst of speed in a single, straight direction. As the user's skill in Hohou grows, they may learn more advanced techniques and maneuvers.
A basic flash-step costs 200 reiatsu, and can cover up to 15m. The user bursts in one direction at near-blinding speed, but is unable to attack or turn. The speed of the step is determined by the user's Hohou, and only those with at least 50% of the user's Hohou can visually keep up with the movement. If the user's hohou is comparable to an enemy's attacking stat, then they stand a good chance of being able to dodge with a shunpo.
Flash-steps are only usable once per turn, with an additional use per turn gained for every 5,000 Hohou.

Soukatsui [Blue Fire, Crash Down]
Hadou #33, 375 Kidou
The user unleashes a broad, flat plane of blue fire, 2m across. The spell has an effective range of 30m, and will explode on contact with the enemy.

Kidou Shouen [Blazing Passion for the Demon Arts]
Learning from her own experience with fire kidou and the guides given her by the Kidoushuu on augmenting the fundamental power of a spell with flame, Adelaide has raised her ability with fire and chomatic flame kidou to the level of a true master pyromancer. By infusing spells already comprised with fire with flames as she was taught, it becomes little more than an amusement to incant a spell; her power over it is always at it's greatest efficiency.
Fire-based or Chromatic Fire kidou, those able to be enhanced by Hellfire and Soulfire, are cast with Eishouhaki or Kenkyouka at 100% efficiency. In order to qualify for this absolute bypass, a spell must naturally consist of either flames or chromatic fire.

These feelings were wrong. Something in her mind cooed softly to her, whispering sweet nothings that blew through her emotions like a soft wind, the sweetest sigh. Mouko's teeth gnashed, trying to make sense of things.

What happened? She had Arano, she loved Arano. Why was she feeling like this? Nothing had brought this on before, so what..?

The Captain of the Mystics of the Divine. Master of trickery and misdirection. That was the title Arano had afforded Lilith Maikeru, and now the title was borne by Adelaide Pierce.

The Soukatsui burnt bright against the afternoon sun, and now she moved. Her rifle swiveled behind her, and the high-pitched whine of the Lawbringer Round scorched the earth, tearing chunks from its surface. The recoil of the gun shook her form, sending her into to the air itself!

The blue-hued ball of flame collided against the concrete in a whorl of flame, cobalt-hued pyres licking upwards at her feet as she barely cleared its presence. Another discharge of the weapon, bringing her closer, precious distance gained as suppositions ran wild in her mind.

The soft glow of her face in the sun, the wounds of her battle only adding to the mystique and battle-ready form of the woman. Mouko was mystified... but her mind resisted. Vermilion energy came alight in her eyes, and her partners jumped.

Energy spiked, the coalescing wisps of orange-yellow flame bursting into form and shape as it compacted against the Major. She had wondered, briefly, as to how Nana had evaded the technique. How the ultimate expression of speed she had ever witnessed, beyond the comprehension of even Arano, had been evaded like child's play.

It seemed simple, in retrospect, when you were moving in multiple directions at once.

The human's form bent and wavered in the air, distorting like a mirage in the desert heat. Energy arced away from her in long gouts, solidifying into thick lines in an instant. Then, the girl was where she was not, everywhere yet nowhere.

Her form remained hovering where it once was, arms outstretched before she was at Adelaide's side, a screech of power heralding the first Lawbringer at the woman's front. Her arms were outstretched from her new perch, and only a glimpse was afforded... but her arms seemed to have multiplied. What was two, became four, and Mouko vanished.

Now she was diagonal to the woman, a slight angle right from her original position. Four arms became eight. The second round crooned from the Captain's side. The young woman vanished once more.

Behind her, four arms became sixteen. A third round screaming death and condemnation upon the woman. Gone again, and sixteen arms became thirty-two. Thirty-two to Sixty-four.

As seven blows shrieked with all their might at their target, the forms of Ryou and Ishi became whole, and Mouko reappeared where she once remained. Her arms spread out like the fan of a peacock, above and to her sides like a great giant. Long sparks of power leapt between them, a rifle gripped in each one before they faded from existence.

The rounds slammed in, Hecatonchires echoing long and loud in the following explosion.

Mouko realized the feelings were induced, Rei Genkai once more reduced Fallen Allure's power by 1485, to 270, and then paid the difference.

Dodged the Soukatsui with two uses of Mobile Marksman, and activated Hecatonchires (4455). Her True Awakening activated, and Ryou and Ishi's stats will be posted next round, Mouko paid 25% of her base reiatsu into their stats though.

Kadou Houhei - "Mobile Marksman"
Mouko, no stranger to constant movement during combat, has come to make it her specialty as the resident mid-range expert of Initiative Orpheus. To this end, she has since learnt to optimize her own strength, using the recoil of her weapons to give her added mobility on the battlefield.

Paying 200 Reiatsu, Mouko can move 15m in a straight line in any chosen direction. She may do this once per 4,000 Combat she has, moving at the speed of her Combat stat. This movement is done independent of current velocity or position, and retains inertia.

Issokude Kyokan - "Hecatonchires"
A skill practiced by only the most renowned masters of Initiative Orpheus’ unique fighting style Senkoutaihou Kata, Issokude Kyokan -- or more informally Hecatonchires -- shares its namesake with the hundred-armed giants of ancient Greek mythology. The technique is so named due to the extreme speed with which the user moves and attacks, making them appear as though they are wielding many more weapons than is possible.

Hecatonchires works by infusing the user’s musculature with massive amounts of spiritual energy. Upon successfully dodging an attack with Senkoutaihou Kata the practitioner releases this built up energy all at once, allowing them to momentarily surpass their human limitations; moving so fast as to appear in multiple locations at once. By flanking the enemy multiple times in the blink of an eye, the user releases a flurry of bullets from every direction, while leaving very little chance of a foe dodging or counter attacking. Upon completing the technique, the user will arrive back at their original location.

This ability overrides the standard counter from Senkoutaihou Kata. Each use of this ability expends 15% of the user’s reiatsu (firearm damage is not calculated with Issokude Kyoukan) and can only be activated once per chapter or collab. Each use of this ability can hit up to two additional targets within ten meters of the initial target. Damage dealt is divided based on how many targets are hit.

The two bullets screaming toward Adelaide’s face reminded her a lot of being shot by Flash Blossom. She didn’t have the time to maneuver around the shots, so she focused all her energy on stopping the screaming shots in dead air in front of her face. This did little to actually grant her any pride, however, since five more hot, searing bursts of pain tore into Adelaide’s body. Even having sent the two bullets back at Mouko, the wounded Captain plummeted toward the ground. Pain screamed throughout the Captain’s body. If she hadn’t already been almost killed disturbingly regularly, the sheer massive amount of agony would’ve been more than enough to make her concede.

She did consider it. She wasn’t sure how long she could fight like this. But she wasn’t about to be that kid who had her face melted by a human. She wasn’t going to go home. She wasn’t going to give in. She fought to her last against Haresuno. Against Takimoto Kago. Fuck, Adelaide had defeated a God. Bullets and tigers? That little human was going to have to do a hell of a lot better to take down the Captain of the Mystics of the Divine.

Caries Sanctimonia Lashiel,” she muttered, regaining control of her plummeting ride through the friendly skies, “Bankai.”

Flames leapt off the hunk of wood, and the raw force of Adelaide’s spiritual pressure erupted like an explosion. When next the human saw the Captain she would be clad in a trench coat, blouse and skirt, her characteristic red hair falling to a dark and demented black, massive wings of heatless flame blazing on her back, and her scythe, now bladed on both ends, grown massive and nightmarish with chains writhing around it Flecks of silver light filled the air around the wounded Captain, and auburn light shone under Mouko’s feet.

“Hiashi.”

Dislinir [Goddess Shields] Tier A
After working with the Peacekeepers for several trying days, including the day the Central Forty-Six was attacked, Adelaide became familiar with some of their equipment, particularly an armguard called a Talos. Talos, a signature tool of the division, were constructed using fragments of a meteorite from Katsuji Ishin’s bankai moon that once rested within the Thirteenth’s grounds along the Iris River.Adelaide, in honor both of her time with the now defunct Peacekeepers and her admiration for the once-captive Captain, has repurposed the bankai moonbits into a pair of bracelets she calls "Dislinir”, Norse for "Goddess Shields”. The bracelets are gunmetal gray in color, with a ruby, emerald and topaz set equidistant from one another, as if the bracelets were ornate insignias of the Eighth Division. The theory was that even in this diminished form, a metal generated by bankai would be a strong enough conductor of Adelaide’s Kenkyouka abilities to generate an effective barrier on command.
While originally conceptualized as a shield operating on the principles of Kenkyouka, the mineral used to construct Dislinir proved to have a rather different expression of power far more akin to Soshi, allowing Dislinir to affect the local gravity around Adelaide. The bracelets' imitated the Situational Gravity of their creator.
By spending 1500 Reiatsu, Adelaide can control the gravimetric forces applied to objects up to and including mid-sized cars - albeit without any precision that would allow the wielding of weapons. By exerting the full force of the gravimetric control, the gravity field can even control projectiles infused with reiatsu for up to the cost paid. Though the bracelets' ability ordinarily lasts 5 rounds, exerting gravimetric force against any projectile enhanced or infused with reiatsu results in the immediate ending of the effect - requiring a round of cooldown before it may be reactivated.
Because Dislinir cannot control the reiatsu of others, it cannot be used to change gravity's effect on people. The effect of Dislinir can stack with the effect of Soshi, allowing the per-turn mass of objects controlled to increase to about one and a half whales or five cubic yards of potatoes.

Hiashi [Spreading Fire]
Hadou #16, 120 Kidou
A luminous spell circle appears on the ground, 2m in diameter. This spell is best used beneath a target's feet. A fiery pillar erupts from the circle up to 5m into the air.

Soulfire
Soulfire is the enhanced form of Hellfire. At the cost of 3% of her reiatsu per turn, Adelaide can augment all her kidou. While using Soulfire, Adelaide cannot use Lashiel's Shadow or Flames of Passion. As Soulfire is active, cosmetic flecks of silver light float around Adelaide and the scythe. Kidou used while Soulfire is active cost twice as much, and become twice as effective in terms of scope and magnitude. Chromatic fire and actual fire-based kidou may instead cost triple the normal and have triple the normal effectiveness.
SOULFIRE AMENDMENT BY WILL: No more 3% burnoff, no more ability lockout. Still applying these restrictions, however, because no GM review has been formally issued.

Jumon Zoukyuu [Spell Augmentation]
Deeper studies into the demon arts have granted insight into the fluctuations of reiatsu and how to adjust them while still achieving a desired result. In this way, the user of Jumon Zoukyuu can increase the effect of a spell by increasing the amount paid in, within the limits of their understanding and the spell itself.
To use Jumon Zoukyuu, the caster spends the total spell cost plus an additional 2% of their kidou stat per tier of kidou.
Ranks 1-30 = Spell Cost + 2% Kidou Stat
Ranks 31-50 = Spell Cost + 4% Kidou Stat
Ranks 51-70 = Spell Cost + 6% Kidou Stat
Ranks 71-90 = Spell Cost + 8% Kidou Stat
Ranks 91+ = Spell Cost + 10% Kidou Stat
This technique uses the natural rank of the spell and is not affected by abilities that lower or increase the effective rank

Hiashi hits at 900.

120 * 3 = 360 + 2% Kidou = 900
Plus two of your bullets are sent back at you with Dislinir/Soshi.

The fire leapt high, clamoring into the clear skies to blot them with smoke and brimstone as the poorly reflected bullets went awry. Hell unleashed, the human was obstructed from view for a moment by the great pyre. Then, Mouko burst clean through it!

Skin scorched to reveal pink flesh beneath, her hair was singed and frazzled by the attack. At Adelaide's sides, the tigers lunged forwards - their paws launching from the air itself - before splitting clean apart.

The pair became a quartet, and the deafening crack of a gunshot sent the young woman careening towards the captain, hand curled back into a haymaker as she aimed for Adelaide's cheek. The tigers lunged high and low, aiming to bite down on each of their enemy's limbs and render them useless.

Hiashi efficacy reduced by True Grit (500), tanked the rest, Mobile Marksman and Internalize activated. When in doubt, fist-fight.

Ryou and Ishi each used Taiso and Air Hike.

Shuryouki
σ Master Companion Flame

The twin tigers of her Initial Awakening become permanent, their forms consolidated and fuelled by the power of Mouko’s True Awakening. Their fur gains a flame-like quality, flaring and waning with their own spiritual strength. They gain an inherent sentience akin to that of a loyal pet, their primal instincts allowing them to function without direct orders.

Upon reaching True Awakening, Mouko distributes the reiatsu bonus gained from True Awakening directly to the summons’ reiatsu as well as 25% of her base reiatsu. Ryou and Ishi automatically possess stats equal to 20% of Mouko’s base reiatsu, in addition to the paid amount. Mouko’s Resonance then caps, and is unable to rise beyond 50%. The summons gain their own Resonance bar equal to 25% of Mouko's base reiatsu, accounting for the other half of her Resonance.

Upon the summons reaching 100% Resonance, both they and Mouko enter Overdrive and gain access to their Overdrive Ability. Upon creation, each tiger is given a respective spread for their stats, listed below:

Ryou
Reiatsu: 6075 (4660)
Combat: 6143
Agility: 878
Fortitude: 1755
Ishi
Reiatsu: 6075 (4660)
Combat: 878
Agility: 6143
Fortitude: 1755

Keishi

Keishi - "Inheritor"
Upon entering True Awakening, Mouko may share a single base technique apiece to her summons. These must be selected and declared upon creation of the summon. Changing a shared technique requires Mouko to pay 3% of her reiatsu per change, and may only change a summon’s shared technique once per round.
Taiso

Taiso - "Progenitor"
Paying 20% of their reiatsu, Ryou or Ishi may create a single clone the same size as them. This clone has stats equal to half of the respective creator’s, and are distributed according to the summon which created it. This clone then lasts the following round before dissipating.

If the clone merges with one of the original summons, or another clone, its reiatsu is given to the other, but subtracts the amount of reiatsu regained in Resonance. Clones are capable of utilizing Houkatsu.
Kyoka

Kyoka - "Ignitor"
Paying 10% of their reiatsu, Mouko or her summons may set themselves aflame for the following round. The flame is harmless to them, and is capable of melting through solid stone. This coating of flame serves as both a weapon and shield, the amount paid in acting as its durability and output. The ability degrades normally as per barrier rules.
Senbu Gachan

Senbu Gachan - "Apex Crash"
The terrifying realization of the nature of her soul, Mouko's Overdrive Ability may be used once Ryou & Ishi have fulfilled their half of Mouko's Resonance. Paying 10% of her reiatsu, Ryou & Ishi are subsumed, using all of their remaining reiatsu as additional power for the attack.

Clasping her hands together, she concentrates her energy into a single point between them before unleashing it outwards. Depending on how she releases the attack, it can be unleashed at various angles.

The ability itself is two-fold, bearing both a powerful wave of energy capable of vaporizing all in its path, and a heady psychological impact in the form of a spectral lion lunging at the opponent, with those who witness the ability's use struck by an innate sense of panic.

"Aaand hello new phone background." Tsubaki smiled quietly to herself from atop the nearby building she had observed Adelaide go up against Kyuketsu from. Truth be told, the former Captain hadn't fiddled too intimately with the different aspects of her phone aside from the obvious making and receiving of calls...but this? This just felt right.

It only made the grin on her face widen at the prospect of seeing the would-be Mystic Captain getting shot in the face every time she opened her phone.

The day was just getting better and better.

[Sorry Raph, was waiting for the right moment.]

If the world had come to a screeching halt, the wounded warrior could’ve potentially weighed out her options. She had four tigers, five bullet holes, seven meters to ground level, and about enough time to try one thing. Fight or flight? She didn’t have time to weigh those options, or those odds. She at least had enough cognizance to know that. She also knew she had to avoid depleting her kidou reserves, so the fight or flight response was entirely instinctual, the kind of reaction that her lessons with the Soutaichou seemed to focus on. She didn’t get to chess out her gambit, she just let go, risking pretty decent pain and complete failure by letting her old friend gravity take control for a change and drag her and her table downward, hopefully a choice that would throw a wrench in the calculations of everything traveling along planned trajectories to snag her.

Even if her plan worked, her riddled and pain-ridden form was about to smack against the ground in a really remarkably unpleasant way, big block of wood and all. Hopefully the nice, horribly splintering table was going to break her fall. Or the mouths of tigers. Whichever.

If Mouko was surprised by the sudden change in the Captain's direction, her face didn't betray it. Instead, her eyes darted to Ishi, still mid-air, and her clenched fist uncurled. The clones vanished into the ether, leaving the original pair on a collision with one another, and their creator.

Yet, as they approached, the onyx-haired woman's hand stretched out, hooking into the thick matted fur of Ishi as both tigers seemed to place footing on the air itself. An instant later, both had launched themselves in separate directions: Ishi, dead ahead and within peak range for Mouko's rifle. Ryou, straight below to crash down upon the plummeting captain.

Withdrawing her revolver, she winced as the movements jostled the deep wound in her arm. Her grip was starting to slacken. Adrenaline coursed through her, keeping her aloof to the numerous burns that puckered and wept a sickly pus in the aftermath of Hiashi. Instead, she trained the sidearm on Adelaide, awaiting the result of her partner's attack.

"Aggressive and agile!"

She hit the ground, managing to thankfully break her fall on her flying table, which was nicer than smacking into the ground in the immediate sense, but it did drive flecks of wood into her, which was just one more amid a series of horrible things. When she looked up and saw a falling tiger, that just seemed to be exactly how this fight was going for her. “Tangent!” she shouted, the kinetic barrier forming between the shinigami and the tiger. She needed to force things toward and endgame, and the more she depleted her kidou reserves the harder that endgame was going to be to derive.

She was hurt worse than the human, but the human was exhausted, and the harder Adelaide forced her into attacking the more exhausted she became. If she could, the Captain was hoping she could wear her down to the point where evasion would be impossible. That would be nice. On top of that, the Captain’s wounds might’ve been worse, but the burn and strike seemed to be doing a decent amount of hindrance. Of course, the Captain wasn’t really moving all that much for fear of worsening her own state, so that wasn’t even relatively helpful yet.

She needed to become less kind.

Tangent
Tangent
Bakudou #32, 320 KidouOne of the fastest working barrier spells around, it is a speedy and relatively easy going counter. Chanting the short incantation, an instantaneous burst of energy flares in front of the user, lasting only for a split second. It is capable of blocking strikes at the user's own strength or lower. If any physical contact with the Tangent barrier is made, the opponent will be knocked off his/her feet, sent flying backwards roughly 8m, though not hurt. All the combined effects of this spell happen in less than a second from the completion of the incantation, making it light but hard to evade.

With a feral roar, the tiger smashed clean through the hasty barrier, shards of the kidou spell vanishing into the ether. Landing claws-first onto the Captain, Ryou sunk them deep into Adelaide's shoulder, roaring down into her face with maw spread wide.

Words called to her, controlled and even, purposefully covering their own circumstances. "Yield, Captain Pierce. Let's not see this go too far, such a spectacle is unbefitting this tournament."

Mouko had her sidearm trained on the woman's head, and with the tiger pinning her, the Major was confident in her shot.
