From where Hisao was he managed to get a great view of Shunsen’s display, while not as impressive as his own it was still nice to see the criminal getting what was coming to him. The far more disturbing thing was how the unannounced MC somehow knew everyone’s name despite no one giving an introduction to him. Reservations aside the old man nodded from where he was to Leone. “Make sure you give him hell. Show him why we’re the Arcane Specialists.”
As Shunsen approached the old man gave a small laugh as he wiped off the growing amount of sweat on his forehead. “So you make me teach you a spell and don’t even bother to show it off. I feel so insulted.” A quick wink and the old man sticking out his tongue was all it took to show that it was all in jest before Hisao fell back into silence to see if the unseated member of his division could show these others the way it was done.
Time for round two, thought Akira, as the prisoner was moved towards him. "Alright, from what I can see, Cosmos Summit managed to fracture your ankle. Don’t worry, I can fix this up quickly.”
He placed his hand over the man’s ankle and chanted, "Chiyudo Number Eighteen, Lacuna Release.” The teen focused his reiatsu into the man’s ankle, urging the bone to repair itself. The bone suddenly joined together again, eliminating the fracture.
Akira looked over at the wound that byakurai had caused. It doesn’t seem to be that bad. There’s no use wasting energy over a small wound that like that...
He looked up at the bandaged man and said in a frustrated tone, "Ready for round three...”
“I guess it’s finally my turn.” Leone sighed lifting himself up off the ground. “Well…” The man paused. “I want him to roam free, I like a good challenge.” He smirked. Walking out onto the field he saw the man, who was apparently a prison and member of the seventh division. This, in fact, excited Leone, to be able to face someone as demented as him. He looked back to see Hisao with an expression that told him to win, he gave a nod and than turned his attention back to the criminal
“I guess we should get started.” Leone smiled getting into more of a battle ready stance. “Hitotsu!” He called out as his hands began to simmer with electrical currents.
Niklas was a bit tired from fighting with Shunsen and dually so because of the fact that Akira didn’t think that a small Kidou wound was worth wasting energy over. Scowling, Niklas looked at who his next opponent would be—a man with spiky orange hair. He looked even weaker than the purple-haired boy had looked and he even announced that he wanted Niklas to roam free. Well then… let’s see what this punk can do… Niklas thought, but his main focus was on that Mister E. Mann.
He wasn’t sure where the man had come from, but he had seen him before—he was force to be reckoned with. But that mattered little, as Niklas had to focus on the little bugger that was in front of him instead. Hitotsu… Niklas repeated in his head as the spell was muttered. It was definitely not something he had even heard of before, but he saw the pressure that was emitting from the boy’s hands.
Figuring that his opponent was weaker than he was, he rushed into battle, hoping to knock him out early. While it was true that Niklas’ skill with the Zanpakutou was higher than the boy’s, he hardly faired well when matched up with the boy’s skill in the hand-to-hand department or Kidou. Disregarding this, Niklas rushed in sword-less nonetheless, feeling the electricity course through his veins as he made contact with the boy’s fists. FUCK!
Leone shot his fist into the prisoner’s torso sending a current of electricity through his body, than following up with an uppercut to the man’s chin to send him flying. “If there’s one thing I’ve learn from being in the tenth division, it’s to never underestimate an opponent because of looks.” Leone said smiling, obviously referring to the old man who had gained his respect.
“Now than, lets finish this up.” He said creating an orb of energy in his hands. “Black bird Hemaskas. Feed the trickster's black rain. Hadou #22, Deadly Quill.” Leone yelled as he sent the orb flying into the air. A few moments after thousands of black feathers erupted from it, all of which began to rain down on the same target, Niklas.
“If you can get up after all that, I’ll be very happy man.” Leone said giving an arrogant smirk. Though even with his arrogance clouding his mind, his gaze never averted from the prisoners location, which showed that he was learning.
Partially stunned from receiving both a blow to the midsection and an uppercut, Niklas wrenched himself off the ground just in time to see the young man throw up a black ball. He heard him say “Deadly Quill” along with an incantation, but the thing he threw up definitely did not look like a quill—or particularly deadly, for that matter. Almost completely ignoring it, Niklas was forced to look back up in the air as the small ball exploded into a great magnitude of feathers, all of which came down at him.
He was nimble enough to dodge a couple of them, but their numbers proved too many and Niklas had no chance to win this particular war of attrition. They came down quickly and rained down on his skin, piercing him in every which way. At this point (after getting sliced up by two Kidou spells), Niklas decided that Kidou was rather unfair—perhaps he should learn a couple of spells…
Mister E. Mann could be seen dancing at the sidelines, cheering for the orange-haired assailant. “Yeah, there you go, Mr. Fierezza! Now hit him with a finishing move!” he shouted as he threw punches at invisible enemies and the like.
As the feathers danced all around him and finally stopped, all Niklas could think was, Get me the fuck out of here…
Looking over at the now blood soaked prisoner, Leone felt as if he had done enough. One more blow should put the young man that stood before him unconscious. "Alright, I’ve had my fill.” The young shinigami said in a bored tone, finding no amusement in the fight at all.
"I’d really like to fight you sometime when you’re at full strength.” Leone smiled in a more eager fashion. "The Frozen hand breaks, melting away the sun. The frosty breath blows, relentlessly assaulting the wind. The binding ice collapses, nurturing the earth’s plants. Hadou #30, Aisu!” The man said as ice began to form a few centimeters from his hand, than shooting out like a bullet, it fired at the man with blinding speed.
"Dodge or Die, Niklas” Leone spoke, confident that the man would dodge with ease. Since killing a comrade is not something Leone believed in.
This fucking bastard! Niklas could only think when the shape of a small spear started to form in front of the boy. After all he had been through—after all the torture—he was still going to fire off a finishing blow? Niklas was infuriated but too tired to do anything about it at this point. He had not been properly healed by Akira after his little stint with Shunsen, and now this boy was casting another powerful Kidou spell at him. Niklas took the word Aisu to heart as it literally almost pierced his heart.
Had he moved a second later, he would have been punctured in a rather vital area of his body. That being said, he was able to move away just in the knick of time, having it slightly puncture his right lung instead. It was a good thing his opponent was much weaker than he was, or the wound might be too deep to heal. Though at the same time, perhaps Niklas would have welcomed that…
His vision became hazy for although the puncture wasn’t deep, he was already tired from before. Luckily, Mister E. Mann’s little game would have to take a little break as Niklas had to regain consciousness.
"Maybe I over did it a little bit?” Leone said in a compassionate tone. "Damn, it actually hit him too, he better be ok or else I won’t be able to fight him again.” The young man sighed walking over to where the host of this little game stood.
"So do I get any kind of prize or....? He paused. "Was this just to show him some kidou?” The young man continued with his question.
Akira stood back in shock as he saw the rain of needles and the spear of ice struck the prisoner. He had enough of this farce. "What the hell is this?!” yelled the Eleventh Seat to the bandaged man next to him. "What sick, sadistic pleasure do you get from this?! Why do you insist on torturing this guy to death?!”
Niklas was slowly carted over to him. The three fights had defiantly taken their toll on the prisoner. Large puncture wounds dotted the man’s body. Electrical burns covered the space in between the wounds. "Chiyudo Number Fifteen, Pressure Bandage,” quickly chanted the teenager. His reiatsu flowed into the large puncture wounds, conforming to the shape, stopping the bleeding.
"He’s been healed, but he’s still in no condition to go back and fight,” spat the Indian.
“Well sorry to break it to you sir.” The old man interjected looking at the healer. “I know it’ll probably pain you to hear this since you probably have some vow to help the injured or some other bullshit restriction that makes you feel like this is some hideous game, but sadly to say this man deserves far worse than what he’s gotten so far.” The old man’s voice was blunt and callous uncaring of what objections the healer was sure to rise.
The withered being was speaking from the heart, that much had to be preserved in his own brutal reality. “To start he is a convicted murderer consider this nothing more than penance for the life he has taken. Not to mention Niklas there would be what you kids might call the personification of the word douche. Let him reap what he has spent so much time to sow.”
Justice? Or at least your own deranged form of it. Gaku started in disbelief. So that is why you traveled out here. Not to test yourself but to show him karma. Look at who’s being all righteous today. Here I was thinking you were just being as stuck up as usual.
There’ll be time to debate why I showed up when this is over. There are still questions here to be answered and Niklas still breathes, if that bandaged weirdo continues the way he has been that means more challengers. Hisao finished his eyes locked onto Niklas’ collapsed form.
"So you think it’s up to you to provide divine justice to those who have crimes? What demented reality have you delusional yourself into? Do you think that all your actions are justified solely because he is a criminal?!”spat the teen, "If you truly hold no regrets in attacking an unarmed person, then let the blood of the wounds that you’ve inflicted haunt you for the rest of your time.”
A bit brash, don’t you think? calmly interjected Ananta.
The old geezer deserved it. Whatever psychotic ideals he has, it still doesn’t change the fact that he’s attacked a person for no valid reason, replied Akira sternly.
The old spy got up his eyes burning in their ancient sockets. Hold yourself if you over react he wins do well to remember that. Gaku roared quickly trying to reign in the annoyed sixth seat. As much as he hated it, the spirit was right he need to calm himself. It would be far better to beat the medic at a round of calm words than to see who could scream the loudest.
Hisao seemed to settle taking one quick breath before looking at the man who towered above him. “I have seen many things in the time before you were even a dream on earth. I have waited in hail silently stalking targets across thousands of miles without roads waiting for them to drop the one piece of evidence I was asked to retrieve. I have fled for my life more times than I could count from men who would chop off my head three times over before asking a single question about why I was there. Who do you believe you are to wish a simple attack stick in my mind?
“The memories I hold of having to hide and follow demons in the guise of men are far more troubling that what I have done to a condemned man. I don’t care about your code or divine justice. This man has wronged me before and I took my own revenge. An eye for an eye. It is perhaps one of the least frightening things I’ve had to do.
“Armed or unarmed you cannot escape from the fact the man has already been found a monster let it be done to him as it may.” The old man’s face was red with anger those his voice remained calm he needed it to be for his argument to hold any weight with the man. Passion could only be soothed with reason, try to fight it with an opposing passion and only arguments could occur.
"Yare, yare,” the giant bandaged man sighed as he danced his way between the disputers. Niklas was the one that was supposed to be antagonized today, not anyone else. "Young and old, old and young~” he sang as he stood still as a tower between them. "There is little need for arguing. There is a good reason for this little festival, my dear sirs, if you are so obliged to listen!” he said.
"Actually, I have but lied to you to the face—all I want to do is see Niklas suffer! Just kidding! Listen here now, children, for I have been of this world for far too long—you see, I know Niklas and know of his future. I know of what this man needs to survive, and you, Dr. Shimizu should best not halt his progress! Niklas would die if he were thrown into a ring and someone used their Kidou without holding back! This is integral to his survival!”
At this point, he stopped standing still and began to dance again. He was a loony mystic, or so it seemed. "Oh, and the fiery boy-type,” he said, referring to Leone, "there are no prizes other than the satisfaction of winning!” He continued to dance as he waited for more suitors to come and accept his offer of using Niklas as a punching bag for magic. Would the mystery behind this Mister E. Mann ever be solved?
Akira noted how suddenly the man’s tone of voice had changed. He’s still pissed off, but I guess he wants to keep things calm. The Indian took off his glasses and breathed out slowly, mimicking the old man and calming himself down. His anger quickly faded, instead it was replaced with an odd sort of respect for the man who had lived a long life and seen many things.
“While your words are true and all, think… Is injuring one who is of the same race as you really worth it? Is it worth hurting a person a rival that may soon become your ally?” formally responded Akira. He was about to continue when the flamboyant man jumped in front of the dark-skinned healer.
What the hell is this guy on? thought the adolescent, as he saw the man suddenly break out into a dreadful dance. I guess I can’t really fight this anymore… He walked back over to the side of the field he was sitting on and shrugged, “So, whose next to kill him?”
This seems interesting enough, Hikari thought while walking towards the first District field with a flyer in her hand. The field had now been changed to be a festival arena of some sorts. As she arrived she noticed few familiar faces to be present and proceeded to greet them.
"Hello, Hisao-san," Hikari said as she walked past Hisao, sitting down near him. And waved to Shunsen-kun, when she noticed him.
"So, what's the deal, Hisao-san? Is that the prisoner to beat up?" She asked and pointed to the man who was laying and getting healed by someone.
With Niklas finally knocked out, the little contest would probably be over, but he wasn't so sure as soon as the host spoke up.
Mister E. Mann was really enjoying this, so it'd be a disappointment to him if this ended too quickly. The guy was surely a tyrant on the inside. Shunsen knew that the host wanted to see Niklas get injured. To see the prisoner cringe and suffer. But if that was the guy's purpose, why go to all this trouble?
"I think you're late, Hikari. Niklas won't be able to fight for a while," Shunsen said before Mann could greet the newcomer. If there was a scheme behind this, then the teenager would try and stop it at all costs.
Niklas got up with his head still ringing heavily. How could he have been beaten so soundly by a kid—a newbie? “Ugh…,” he managed as he picked himself up, just in time to see a new visitor. E. Mann was dancing around like a lunatic again, but Niklas had come to see this in a new light while he had been knocked out. This festival of torture was… actually beneficial to him. He couldn’t remember all the spells in association to their names, but he was starting to get the hang of how to react to certain types of Kidou. But there was no way to judge his progress if he just sat around.
Turning his head in various directions, cracking his neck, he said, “All right, let’s get this started up again!” Mister E. Mann looked more excited than everyone else, relieved that his show was saved because Niklas was no longer unconscious. He was starting to think people might get bored and leave.
Turning to the newcomer, he said, “Ah, Uchiwa Hikari! You’ve made it just in time—you’re the main attraction now!” He didn’t stop to see a reaction from the green-haired pixy but instead just continued with his little jig. “Let’s GO!” he shouted.
Seeing that his opponent was a girl, Niklas thought that he shouldn’t fight back—no, that was a dumb excuse. He wasn’t going to fight back because he wanted her to be able to cast a whole arsenal of spells on him. “Bring it, bitch!”
How come the E. Mann knew her name, well it really didn't matter as the prisoner was back up for more beating. Very well then, here we go, but with what to start,he seems to taken quite a lot of beating already. Well, if jii-san had his way with him, its amazing he's still standing, Hikari thought and finally deciced the spell she was going to go first as she stepped up to arena.
"Break the dragon's jaw, little firestar, Hadou number thirty, Big Bang!" The girl chanted gathering energy into her palm and moulding into a small ball and fired the little ball towards Niklas' head.
She then begun to chant for her second spell. "Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man!..." Gathering more reiatsu into her hands with a focused look in her eyes.
Big Bang again? Niklas thought as he watched the girl gather up the small fiery ball in her hands. She had to whisper the incantation, unlike Hisao had. Did that make a difference at all? But Niklas did not have much time to speculate on this because as he was watching and thinking, the girl had completed the incantation and the ball zoomed towards his head. If I remember correctly… it felt like a bomb… he thought as the ball came ever closer.
Should he try to weather the hit or not—his decision had to come soon. At the last second, he decided that he would dodge it, as getting wrecked by a bomb didn’t appeal to him. Although it missed his head, the little ball still managed to explode the entire vicinity he was in, so he was not spared from damage. This time though, he was really just hit with the aftershock rather than the full effect of the explosion. Because he had ducked to dodge, the force sent him right into the ground.
Peeling himself from the earthy fabric of the ground and spitting out dirt, he turned once again to his assailant. “Is that all you have? You better show me something I haven’t seen if you want to do anything!” But as he was saying this, the girl was already whispering another incantation.
