Eiji stared into the Seventh Division grounds. By his sides, he had two soldiers, both from the Omnitsu Kidou. The small unit acted as a protective team for the assassin. He had been held up in his cell for over a year, unable to contact anyone on the outside. He had yet to meet his new captain or anyone else from the division except for the gaolers. His arms were died around his back with simple cuffs, rendering him unable to move them at all. He had a ball and chain around his right ankle which stopped him in his tracks if he ever had the thought of running.

“Why did you bring me outside?” he asked, as he looked back at the two cloaked men. One of them smacked him over the head. He figured they did not want their faces to be shown so he turned his head back forward.

“Not even gonna answer me?”

"Why would they tell you a damn thing? It's not like you are anyone important."

The voice was one of uncaring dismissal. Striding across the yard, his long legs passing the distance impossibly quickly, stalked Ishin Katsuji, the man in charge of the prison they stood in. He nodded at the guards, and they seemed to simply disappear.

"Now then, name and former division."

Standing alone, Eiji looked at the reaper who had just arrived. The pressure he felt from him came from only the strongest people in Soul Society. He immediately knew that it was a higher ranked officer.

“Yamamura Eiji, former assassin of the Twelfth Division.” His answer was short and he did not care to ask the same question back to him. The reaper felt that it was not his place to do so at the moment and simply waited for the tall shinigami to reply.

A woman, short and lithe, approached the clattering of her chains more than a little ringing herald of her arrival. “Ooooh, mon Capitaine!” her tone was sing-song and her fine, curled hair of spun gold shimmered in the light, “Is this one interesting? Tell me this one is interesting. They don’t even let him walk! Doesn’t walk but still talks. Like a drawstring toy. Pull his string, mon Capitaine! Pull his string!” The odd little seriously attractive ball of nutty clapped her hands excitedly at the premise of a new ‘toy’ in the Seventh Division.

While mostly considered to be harmless, the girl with frozen blue eyes was in the Seventh on an absurdly long sentence. Five thousand years. Of course, she expected to be out any time now on good behavior! And by that, she meant that she rather loved suicide missions. She had paid off at least half her ‘debt to society’ already. And lovlier still, they trained her to use her spiritual potential! How blissful! This truly was a wonderful place for her. The Gotei Thirteen. Charming. Charming!

“I was actually looking for you, mon Capitaine! The Onmees, grumpy fellows, wouldn’t let me have a copy of Seireitei Communication. Now how is a good, upstanding prisoner like myself supposed to know what’s going on in the world? Like if your triplets are single now that you’ve got that,” she laughed wrongly, “supple Mystic of yours.” Clearly, the blond prisoner wanted a crack at the three lovely ladies Ishin used to pal around with though her Cheshire grin made it equally clear that she envisioned Lilith in highly inappropriate ways as well. No rest for the wicked, after all. “It’s been two years, mon Capitaine, I could use a conjugal visit or three!” She offered another laugh, sweet an excited and more than a little unstable as she looked to the man the Captain was here to visit.

With a smile as lithe as her figure, the woman struck a pose for the new piece of worthless garbage. “Oh, don’t get excited, Edgy, I’m not looking for pointy parts, but you can appreciate all the sights the Seventh has to offer~!”

Hi guys!
Anyone who remembers this character gets bonus Katie points.

A look, more of a sideways glance, at the blonde girl was all it took to quell her into silence. He turned back to the other man and slowly started to circle him, his left eye never leaving him, making him look amazingly like a shark circling his prey.

"And what is it that you did to wind up here, Yamamura Eiji, former assassin of the Twelfth division?"

The question was loaded. He knew full well why he had gotten there. However, Ishin had never held any particular fondness for the Twelfth. It wasn't disdain for the division, simply a nonchalant annoyance at several of it's members and former members. Still, it wouldn't do to let him simply rot in a cell. His job was to rehabilitate and re-institute these prisoners into the Gotei, so that they could try and make up for their past mistakes.

Eiji had a confused look in his eyes as the Captain asked his question. He knew what had happened. Both Eiji and Igasho had been sentenced to prison without any investigation done to what they called their crime. The fact that they had sentenced them for killing someone that they had ordered themselves was still imprinted in the scarred assassins memory.

It was true that the two assassins had made a bad choice in the actual execution, but they had not failed. They had simply followed orders and now had to pay for it.

“I am sure that you know of it, Captain Ishin.” Eiji took a breath before continuing. “The assassination of Kuromuna Moeno.”

[115/359]

“Wait, wait, waiiiiit!” the blond clapped her hands together causing the chains around them to jingle rather melodically. She seemed positively thrilled, excited to hear what she had just heard. “You’re one of them, aren’t you? The butcher of innocents! Ohhhh, I read about you~!” From her understanding, the assassins had been given orders from their Vice-Captain to pursue several high-value targets, except the orders were inventions of that Vice-Captain, who had betrayed the Gotei to help the man who slaughtered three Judges.

She practically salivated, his situation was that delicious.

The sheer joy in her voice was rather unnerving, “Was Moeno the schoolteacher? Oh, how absolutely devilish! You killed a teacher! Did her blood run over your hands? Did it thrill you? Be honest, now, Edgy, be honest with little old me!” She leaned in, trying to close the distance between them a little without really moving, “When you found out she was innocent, did it titillate you? C’mon, you can tell me. Someone who becomes an assassin, you really are just a psychopath, aren’t you? Getting to feel the life fade from your victim without fear of law... you’re a monster, right?” She couldn’t stop herself from breaking down into laughter when she said that last line. It felt so freeing, her heart sored so!

Being around other monsters was marvelous.

“If that is what you want to call it, then I suppose that’s all right. I have nothing against it; I am serving my time for my crime.” Eiji watched the female who had stood there for a while but whom he had ignored. He felt more inclined to actually get some information from his captain than a random person in the crowd.

“I will not answer any questions about the assassination.” A weight he thought he had gotten rid of was starting to weigh down on his shoulders. The boy had almost forgotten about the past, ever since he lost his memories. They were starting to come back to him and this made it even worse. He did not like how a random person came in and accused him of being a butcher but he did not have a choice but to accept it. Perhaps he was one.

“And who are you, if I may ask?”

[157/516]

“Little old me?” she giggled and put an arm around the gigantic captain. She did it the way someone would drape their arm on a friend’s shoulder, but due to the height difference she was casually draping her arm around his waist. She became immediately dissatisfied with the gesture and stopped, “I need a ladder. Ladderkai. Maybe that’s what my bankai will be?” It was followed with a sigh and a slumped posture, before returning her glance to Edgy. “I’m Omara Miyabi. I have a special kinship with mon capitaine, because he and I demolished the same tea house. Also maybe the same triplets. Working on that one.”

He shifted his vision back to the captain and tried to ignore her, shrugging her off his mind. She was quite a piece of work, perhaps even damaged it seemed to the boy. What she had done to get herself in this position, he did not know. Neither did he know if he felt more sorry for the Isshin or her.

“Are you going to tell me why you brought me out here, or was it just to make sure your little friend here had someone to talk to?”

[89/605]

The manacle around the psychotic woman's wrist tugged and forced her arm off of the captain's waist. In a swift and forceful pull, both chains whipped backwards, drawing the woman's upper limbs behind her hips and nearly snapping her arms from their sockets.

It was then that a voice resonated in the girl's mind and boomed, Touch him again and...

Crunch.

The right shackle shot laterally and back to the blonde woman's forearm, effectively dragging her wrist and breaking it at its weak point.

...You won't have any hands at all.

The slandering voice was silent to all but the wounded woman. Though invisible, the ferocity in the assailant's glare crashed upon the loud-mouthed prisoner with the weight of a drowning wave.

Ishin had to turn his head so that his grin was hidden. The girl did not know, hell no other soul in the entire division knew, that there was now an extra unregistered occupant of the prison. She was the reason he had cleared out most of the prisoners from the building that housed his office and quarters.

Regaining his composure almost immediately, he turned back so fast that to any that didn't know him it had looked more like an exasperated gesture at the girl's apparent clumsiness. When he did so, however, his face was one of intense displeasure.

"Look, I don't know, really I don't care, how it was done at the Twelfth, but here in the Seventh when you are asked a question you give as many details as possible. It doesn't matter if you don't want to, you do as you are told in as quick a manner as possible. That way, it keeps me in a good mood and i don't have to throw you in the Maggot's Nest. Or, worse for you, the Tower."

He motioned over his shoulder at the looming white bloodstone structure behind them. Even though it was on the entire other side of the compound, it still seemed to take up their entire field of vision and serve as a constant reminder of the ultimate punishment that could befall them.

"Now then, let's try this again, shall we? Why are you here? Give me the details."

He turned his head to the blond.

"And you stay put and stay quiet. Unless you want more of the same."

“As you wish.” Eiji knew that he had no choice but to cooperate. He had heard about the Seventh Division Captain, heck, he had even seen him in the act. It was not a pretty sight. During his and Igasho’s trial, the Captain had saved the day. Raifuku had attacked the Central Forty-Six during that time, threatening to attack the shinigami as well. They had been given the choice to escape and become traitors, or help the Central and perhaps get their sentence reduced. He knew that Ishin was strong, way to strong for himself to defy his orders.

“As I told you before, it was the assassination of Moeno. You should know the aftermath of the event and the trial; you were there.

“Before that though, that is a whole other thing. Only a few people know of this but those who know were supposed to be the only ones. The Twelfth Division was tasked with a few missions, assassinations to be more precise. I and Okamii Igasho were given the task to investigate and assassinate Kuromuna Moeno. The intel we were given contained evidence that she was indeed to be assassinated.” Eiji took a deep breath before he continued.

“This is where we failed. We trusted the information too much, went with it blindly and I killed Moeno. The orders we had gotten were false, we learned later, and thus I was sent here. Had we suspected the orders, we probably would have found a clue or two. That was not the case though. We were stupid.”

The scarred assassin looked at his current Captain, unhappy that he had to answer the question with so much detail, in front of people he did not knew.

“Are you satisfied with that answer?”

[293/898]

Ishin turned and nodded to the guards. They nodded in return and retreated a considerable distance. He turned his head back towards Eiji, his eyes glinting with anger.

"With the answer i find satisfaction. With your attitude I find considerable fault. You were told to describe what happened. I did not ask you if you knew whether or not I was aware of the circumstances, nor did i give you a choice in the matter as to whether or not you could answer. Here in the Seventh, when you are told to do something, you do it. Especially if it comes out of my mouth."

He slowly circled him, his movements not unlike a shark circling potential prey. His eyes never left the other man, his focus never shifting.

"While you may be used to a certain amount of autonomy, that ended the second you wound up in here. No longer do you get to walk free. No longer do you get to socialize. The only other people you will see, at any time, are other criminals. Remember this, an innocent is dead at your hands. Feel blessed that i don't decide to carry out a harsher sentence upon you right here and now."

He stopped pacing, his back to the man.

"Now then, come at me."

You want me to fight you right here, right now, and you don’t think this is a harsh sentence. I can handle a few years in prison, probably even a few centuries if I have to. To face a Captain though, that’s a whole other thing.

Eiji knew that he would have to risk his life in this fight. The Seventh Division Captain was not someone you toyed with, especially when he was mad. And he was. At least it seemed that way to the reaper. He did not want to fight him, not now. The assassin was far too weak to fight to fight someone, especially without his zanpakutou.

“As you wish.”

He ran. With all the strength he could muster up, he ran towards Ishin. Having your back turned with an assassin in the vicinity was never a good idea, and Eiji wanted to take the chance. In a few seconds he had managed to reach the Captain and swept his right leg as hard as he could towards the Captains knees. He wanted him to fall, before anything else.
