~ Buryoku Gaikou ~

Thick granite fell inward, but it was the sound of metal scraping on metal which greeted Nana. As she burst through into the room, white light bloomed, illuminating another expansive room. The light reflected from silver panels which had been layered over the walls, the floor, and even suspended from the ceiling. The entire room was encased in metal, including the section of wall that had been caved in.

The broken granite clung to the metal sheet that was anchored to it.

In the center of the room, there was a complex machine made out of a reddish copper metal. There were three tall, reinforced glass cylinders suspended above the machine. Each cylinder was wide and tall enough to store an entire human body. The closest of the three, pointed straight down into a red metal pipe leading to the heart of the machine, was filled nearly to the top with a viscous black substance. The substance seemed almost alive, churning maliciously at the sudden intrusion. The other two cylinders were empty, a faint black film remaining to show what they had once held.

Several metallic boxes surrounded the cylinders, each at least ten feet high. The lack of visible buttons or knobs implied that either they had an outer shield over the controls or it was controlled from elsewhere. They had found Buryoku Gaikou.

The floor surrounding the electronics was covered in black squares tiled so closely that they left absolutely no seams. These black tiles covered a twenty foot radius around the machine, stopping five feet away. There, closer to the machine, there were opalescent circles in the ceiling, completely surrounding the machine. The entire rest of the chamber, easily the size of a soccer field, was devoid of any furnishing.

Instead, the space was filled with dozens of guards.

Fully two dozen infantry, each armed with weaponry that looked as if it was taken from the Order of the White Horse, leveled their weapons at Nana, laser sighting lighting her up like a Christmas tree. Behind them, four white Destriers powered up -- the mechanized humanoid suits stood at least nine feet tall, with bulky legs and arms, with the head sunk into the heavily armored torso. Each Destrier carried a lance in one robotic hand, while the other arm had built in grenade cannons and submachine guns.

The final Destrier, in the center of the others, stood fully twelve feet high. It had a distinct pattern, still white but with red tiger-stripes. Instead of a lance, this one carried a flanged and barbed mace and an immense tower shield, the weapons sharing its color scheme.

No words were exchanged or warnings given: the guards opened fire, the Destriers each settling into position to charge, thrusters charging up at their backs.

[464/464] Final?

As the bullets began to pierce through the woman’s body it became harder and harder to distinguish the relative form of the vice-captain of the Third as flesh and bone began to tear apart from one another until finally...

She just dissipated, leaving behind only a shell of her former self.

“My, my,” a voice called out to the ensemble from a distance. “You guys don’t beat around the bush now do you?”

There she stood, blades at the ready just off to the side of where she was supposedly shot.

“I’m sorry to cut this short, but...
Ban Kai.”

As her reiatsu poured out immensely, so did its heat intensify as slowly a wyvern began to circle around the now final released form that was Amaterasu Nana and everything in a twelve meter diameter within the vice-captain’s reach began to become a liquid substance.

[145]

Technique used was Utsusemi... for more obvious reasons.

Shinsekinenshou
Shinsekinenshou (浸漬燃焼)
“Immersion Burning”

Due to Nana’s reiatsu having grown to such immense proportions in a relatively short time it has started to mingle itself with the woman’s mindset, and is being complemented by the vice-captain’s new release. Because of this understanding, the knowledge behind Nana’s actions, her reiatsu has now taken on a scorching hot-red appearance when released.

Shounetsujigoku (焦熱地獄)
"Burning Hell"

True to its name, Nana's reiatsu is hot to the touch and brings forth an immersive burning ability wherever the Amaterasu heir goes, this includes scorching the very ground she walks upon with every waking step. Because of this, whenever Nana actively exerts her spiritual prowess, everything within a 12m diameter gets affected by the young noblewoman's scorching reiatsu.

When it is 'active' her entire body becomes flaming hot to the touch and gains the improbable ability to burn non-reiatsu fueled objects and mundane things with a mere physical touch.

In light of this new, immense spiritual exertion, her reiatsu tends to just float about, burning everything it comes across and while that is nice it is not always practical. As a result, the vice-captain of the Third has learned how to harness this excess spiritual pressure and condense it into the form of a wingless, fire-wyvern.

While in this condensed state, her reiatsu spirals around her and is telepathically controlled by mere thoughts, although Nana can opt to user her arms for better control.
When this wyvern hits something physical, or when Nana detonates it manually, her condensed reiatsu explodes into a massive burst of scorching-hot reiatsu, burning everything it comes in contact with.

This ability costs 10% of Nana's base reiatsu to instigate and has a durability of two turns before it needs to be detonated, lest it dissipates back into the air.

For more obvious reasons, Nana can make a conscious effort not to burn anything at all if she so desires.

Bankai
Bankai
卍解

In its final release state, the form of Amaterasu becomes absolute and both the wielder of present times and the spirit of an age long forgotten become one and the same again, unleashing the full extent of their broken past.

Exemplary of her newfound status as “Goddess of Sun”, Amaterasu’s clothes change accordingly and turn from the standard shinigami shihakushou into a red and white kimono. Though still very much a kimono in every conceivable word possible, there are a few discernible differences between a standard kimono and the one Amaterasu wears.

Being more situated for combat, the kimono’s sleeves are separate from the main robe themselves, and while having the traditional appearance of being rather long, they are infinitely more easy to move in than when they were attached to the rest of the kimono.

The sleeves, as well as the kimono itself, are of white cloth with a thick, red stroke surrounding the place where the arms come through the sleeves. Near the top of the sleeves are two red ribbons attached to the cloth. The main cloth of the sleeves have a grand, fully red coloured circle in the middle – exemplifying her status as a ‘goddess’ of the Japanese lore, with the cloth looking like the Japanese flag.

The top part of the kimono also differs slightly from that of the traditional cloth in that it looks like the wielder is wearing a relatively small battle jacket over the main shirt. This jacket is also white with a red stroke along its outer rim, looking as if the strokes overlap the red stroke of the kimono’s collar.

Amaterasu also wears a red hakama over the traditional kimono cloth held together with a fully white obi – though the obi is adorned with light blue stripes.

Lastly a large, red scarf of at least twice her size in length and around the woman’s waist in width appears with eighth coin-like rings to either end of the scarf. Amaterasu wears this scarf behind her back and over her arms.

The magatama she had been wearing in her shikai carries over and the cyan-coloured main magatama starts to glow softly.

Behind the user a massive, golden ornament appears, vaguely resembling wings that hover just behind Amaterasu. In addition to this grotesque ornament, the wielder itself also gains a golden, heavenly crown of Japan. The golden wings act as an artificial sun.

In slight comparison to the shikai, Amaterasu’s blade in bankai changes once again. This time the blade absorbs Ama-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi and creates a double-ended blade of sorts – the handle remains its original size.

In addition to this change in appearance to the blade, Amaterasu also gains the Yata no Kagami (八咫鏡) - “Eight Hand Mirror”, which is said to be Amaterasu’s sacred mirror. Yata no Kagami is about the size of Amaterasu’s upper-body has a dark-golden outer rim, a golden inner rim and ‘mirror’ circle in the middle and acts as a shield of sorts for the wielder.

The wyvern of pure flames was reflected in every surface, its image shown in the visors of the contingent of guards. The reflection from above and below wavered. The silver plates were beginning to melt. Drops of molten silver fell from overhead. Liquid silver pooled under the woman's feet, then around them as more melted metal rained down.

Undeterred by the display, half of the guards shifted their aim toward the woman and started firing again. The others, meanwhile, took aim at the open hole, several of them throwing grenades toward the breach. The striped Destrier lumbered heavily toward Nana, shield held up defensively. The other Destriers held their charge, choosing not to challenge the waves of fire that exuded from the woman.

Notes
Just releasing your Bankai would never have been enough, but especially not with how far away you are. I established that the room is roughly as large as a soccer/football field. That's ~100m. Your ability with a 12m diameter means it hits up to 6m (~18 feet) in front of you. You're well in range of the guns, but the guards aren't in any danger if you just stand there.

A soothing bell, the second one.

Breaking her lance up into two for a moment the heat around her companion weapon, Murakumo, intensified, and the vice-captain of the Third was gone. In an instance of brilliant flames Amaterasu Nana was upon one of the four smaller Destriers bringing her almighty flames to her executed flash blossom before she disappeared into smoke again.

This time it was the Destrier on the other side of the spectrum, and a same scenario as the one before panned itself out with a second flash blossom and equally fast disappearance before she headed onto the third Destrier.

As her final Senka carried out its job, Amaterasu Nana send her wyvern towards the final of the smaller Destriers. It wrapped itself around the bulk of metal and soon it was wringing its way towards the inside forcibly.

And Nana? She now stood face to face with the true, final Destrier.

[155/300]

Bell

Atatamaru (温まる)
“To Warm Oneself”

Atatamaru is a passive, personal effect ability that harnesses the warmth that radiates from Amaterasu’s bankai and uses it to fuel her powers. For every turn that passes and the bankai is active, Atatamaru drains 7.5% of Amaterasu’s reiatsu per turn and stores it in the mirror.

Every time this happens one of the golden plaque-rings on the sword start to ring in a soothing tone. Because there are six of these, the most Atatamaru will store at one given point is 45% of Amaterasu’s reiatsu.

As an added effect, the wielder can opt to release one of the stored units, or multiple, to heal shallow wounds.

Because I have 34k Hohou I can use six shunpo per turn, which means I can execute three senka per turn.
Because these are Destriers I doubt they have anywhere near my amount of hohou so I assume I can apply +50% to my Zanjutsu stat for these three attacks, totalling at three attacks valued @ 30k zanjutsu.

I also paid 2k reiatsu for my S-Tier's flaming ability, adding that onto the Senka I used.

Finally my wyvern began wrapping itself around the destrier @ 10% fire based reiatsu.

Also, Beaks, Lil, Ish, anyone... I wouldn't mind it if you guys actually hauled your lazy asses in over here.

A black speck sparked a forearm’s length off of his chest, and propagated into a small void with a flame-like silhouette. The spark remained, continuing along the edge of the void and revolving around the edge of the void several times within a split-second until the void exploded into a five meter-wide shield in front of him. A countless number of lights detonated all along the front of Jigoku no Kinko Rokumenin, the high-pitched whine of bullets sputtering off of the surface following the spectacle of flickers.

Within the broad cylindrical shadow behind the void, warped in instances by the dancing light of Nana’s final release, the Sixth Seat assayed each blank visor-covered face through the muzzle flashes in the distance.

Scalding light swept over the brawny surfaces of Manzou’s skin not covered by the black and whites of his uniform, the heat of Murakumo washing over him in a wave and teasing the untended blemishes along it caused by Kikenbutsu’s fire. It was a familiar pain---but pain overpowered any ability to endure or cope through experience. Not even the muscle memory of a million cauterized scars could stop him from taking a few cautious steps back from Nana, his forearm set protectively just in front of his face.

But even the pain couldn’t stop an impressed and esurient grin from forming and biting at her heels. Her spiritual pressure was monstrous, more so than he'd ever felt from her before. In the darkest of his inner world, a similar grin---albeit tenfold more voracious---stretched across Tatsunokuchi’s callus mug.

Looking over his shoulder and catching the eyes of the most familiar individual outside of Nana, Manzou locked eyes with Arashi and gestured toward their aggressors, signaling his intention and eagerness to move.

[292/292]

[1k Rei] Shield's big enough to cover almost everybody behind him so everybody 'cept Nana. Not for long though.

Iz you down, Fanny?

Such an objective though was made that much more unreachable as Nana's spiritual pressure flowed out vibrantly and manifested itself in a hellfire that threatened to consume everything that it touched. It wasn't until he had noticed that Manzo's gaze was fixated on him when he broke free from his stupor.

Nodding, Ryoujin followed Manzo and the two attempted to make their way around the wildfire going on around them. It wasn't so simple however. Although the shield that the Herald had erected seemed to be holding up, the explosions from the grenades were becoming overbearing so much so that the pink-haired youth could no longer sit back and watch it happen any longer. He had already had experience during the Siege of Tokyo about what mechas were capable of, and Destriers could only prove to be one huge headache if they weren't eliminated as soon as possible.

But what good would it be if this control room wasn't guarded. Raifuku, you sure are one crafty bastard.

Barely averting being launched back from the most recent explosion not but a few meters away from where they were headed, the Blood Templar instantly summoned three katanas, each thrumming with spiritual pressure.

Before long, all three of them spurred forward, aiming to maneuver themselves around the shields in order to pierce right through any Destrier that obstructed their course.

[ 227 ]
Fannymanny combo is a go

shikai abilities used
Ability: The primary ability of Kazeoni allows Ryoujin to craft any weapon that he so chooses, ranging from swords, spears, scythes, etc. Each weapon that is summoned has the physical properties of the original and can harm spiritual beings(ie: If a sword is summoned, it is made of steel...). He can summon one weapon per 2% of his reiatsu. After training vigorously, Ryoujin can summon up to ten blades maximum at once if he so wishes (one weapon starting at 1k connection, + an extra for every 1k connection after that, capping out at 10k connection).

Ability: The second ability helps Ryoujin maintain control over the weapon(s) summoned. Should he want to have complete mastery over the weapons, he must pay 2% of his reiatsu per round. This makes it capable for the pink-haired youth to control the course of any of the weapons he summons whether it is to have them deflect a blow, change directions midway, etc.

Behind the attacking Shinigami a monstrous but familiar pressure flared to life, a sign that the former Captain had tapped into the whole of her power. However, there was no war cry, no drawn out speech or statement of intent. Instead, two eyes fully shrouded in black and a voice that was and was not hers at the same time spoke a simple word.

"Shou."

From her side, the jagged hammer was drawn and held in front of the woman's diminutive form by the summoned Kidou. Saying nothing in acknowledgement to her comrades, Tsubaki started forward towards the Destriers. The bullets that raced towards her bit deeply into flesh and bone, filling the air around her with tiny fountains of blood and torn tissue. Despite this the woman did not wince or turn away, instead only giving the armored assailants a malicious smile as the wounds on her body began to knit on their own volition.

[156]
[It's your show Nana, I'm just here to blow shit up.]
Abilities and shit, blah blah blah.
Shou to hold weapon since we're outside the maze and I assume the collars are back on. BK healing ability (bullets: minor?) 5k, 4.5k regen.

As soon as the infantry directed a portion of their fire on his lieutenant, Manzou reacted, sprinting at full speed forward while less as many bullets continued to ping off of the surface of the shield hovering in front of him. Not bothering even glancing at the construct, Manzou brushed just past the Destrier locked on Nana and headed straight toward the congregated infantry behind Tsubaki. A high and straight-forward bound placed him at the former Templar captain’s side and an arm’s length away from the vortex of her crushing spiritual pressure. His brow didn’t waver nor shift to meet her eyes as he spoke.

“Tsubaki-dono,” Manzou said, his eyes narrowed and still set on the line of infantrymen. Jigoku no Kinko Rokumenin tanked the bullets that aimed to tear into both him and her. “If you don’t mind my assistance...”

A burst of speed carried him closer and closer still toward his targets. Small spider-web fissures snapped all along the front of the Jigoku shield’s facade, letting rays of light peak through. The Herald and the shield disappeared from view, only Manzou himself reappearing just above the shooters.

Jigoku no Kinko Rokumenin rematerialized just as it had before---the vast black bulwark this time set just a meter or so off of his rear-end, between him and his targets as he fell.

“Bakudou number twelve,” Manzou spoke in a low and controlled tone as one hand came to Tatsunokuchi’s hilt. “Break of Dusk.” The weight of bullets shattered the shield for a time to come, its flat facade replaced with a black and global miasma that ballooned from the Herald’s center mass.

The last thing seen of him was the glint of Tatsunokuchi’s steel being unveiled.

A loud thud rang from the core of the black blub as his sandaled feet contacted the granite beneath. A second later, with the immediate swiftness of a blender, two elongated streaks of condensed white flames sprouted through the opaque surface and revolved wildly, each threatening to wound deeply---if not bifurcate---those in its path.

[340/632]

Used Kouken within the BoD sphere to manifest two of my manifestation's limbs and then used BK ability, Mujihi Surasuto, to manifest super-long fiyah sword.

For Kouken & BK Ability Used
Kouken
Kōken (後見, Guardianship): Kōken is the ultimate expression of the connection between a Zanpakutō and its wielder. It is a level of understanding between the two spiritual entities where the separation between master and guardian is both made and understood. One does not merely need to attain manifestation and the name of their Zanpakutō’s Bankai; they must come to know their spiritual partner inside and out via extensive Jinzen sessions with nothing left unsaid between the two.

First Level: Sakai no Kōken (後見の球, Ambit of the Guardian): Sakai no Kōken allows the practitioner to manifest up to three appendages of their manifestation into the real world during combat. For example, the arm or leg or mid-section or even tail of the Zanpakutō’s manifestation form can be summoned as condensed reishi just off of the user’s body. The size can vary though the reach of the appendages may not extend more than 5 meters from the user. They can be used offensively and defensively, their resilience determined by the cost paid for it, and move according to the user’s will.

Upon learning Sakai no Kōken, the user can manifest these 3 appendages for 1 round with an additional round and limb added for every 2,000 Reiatsu gained afterwards, capping at 5 rounds when Bankai is attained and 6 limbs at 16,000 Reiatsu. It costs the user 10% Reiatsu to summon the appendages; the cost/resiliency is spread among each appendage summoned. Additionally, as each Zanpakutō is unique to each user, a minor effect unique to a single specific appendage of the manifestation form may be submitted to Feat staff for approval by all practitioners.

Unique Effect: The ambit of the ‘Herald’s dark dragon, Tatsunokuchi, extends in a form that both befits the blade spirit’s disagreeable essence yet aids Manzō immensely. Whenever the head of Tatsunokuchi is summoned using Kōken, the sharp eyes of the basilisk are linked directly to his, giving him an increased field of vision. However, as they are connected, all debuffs and buffs affecting the ‘Herald’s eyes are shared by the summoned pair. It costs Manzō 1% Reiatsu per round to keep this effect active.

Requirements: Manifestation (10,000 Reiatsu)

Second Level: Bitoku no Kōken (後見の美徳, Virtue of the Guardian): Bitoku no Kōken is the second and final ability granted to the user who has come to master both sword and self, allowing the summoned appendages to manifest the form of their Bankai for use of a single Bankai attack outside of their fully-released state. The user chooses a single attack to use and, once an attack has been chosen, the user may not select another. Additionally, attacks that are constantly-active may only be used for a maximum of 5 rounds, afterwards requiring a 5-round cooldown before using Bitoku no Kōken again.

Requirements: Bankai (15,000 Reiatsu)

Mujihi Surasuto (無慈悲なスラスト, Merciless Sweep): Manzō can pay 1,000 Reiatsu to manifest a second sword in the left hand of Yoku no Amatsukeshin.

The staccato of three near-instantaneous attacks resounded throughout the room, the sharp crack of steel on steel briefly winning out over the constant wail of gunfire. A louder crash followed, along with the cracking and sizzling of sparks: one of the Destriers' arms was cut clean off! The other two showed deep gashes through their armor, the final of the three staggering to regain its balance.

In response to the attacks, the one-armed Destrier couched its lance and fired all thrusters, shooting across the room straight at Nana, while the other two took aim and fired a barrage of rocket-propelled grenades in a spread fashion.

The striped Destrier, engulfed in flames, braced itself and slammed its shield straight down into the silver-plated floor. A barrier surrounded the machine, holding the wyvern at bay.

The lackluster shield held in front of the remaining attackers split apart under the focused assault.

A series of hand-signals passed between the surrounding infantrymen. Six of the first group continued a focused machine-gun barrage on the doorway. Three of that group rushed forward, lowering their assault rifles and grabbing new guns from over their shoulders. Right behind them, three others arced their rifles up, firing more grenades from the undercarriage. Streams of red smoke followed the arc of the grenades. Intense and acrid, the smoke assaulted the throat and lungs of those who breathed it in.

The commandos in the front fired their new weapons, unleashing a barrage of shotgun-like pellets. A cloud of red lifted up, and in unison, all three grabbed frag grenades from their belts and rolled them across the floor before cocking their shotguns and firing again.

The fourth Destrier turned its attention toward the defenders at the entrance. It couched its lance and took aim with its other arm. With three soft whumps, it loosed three grenades... and immediately fired its thrusters, aiming to ram its lance right through the first squishy target in front of it, taking the brunt of the unexpected white beams that shot forth from the shadows.

The remaining twelve infantry split apart, spreading across the room, rushing away from the Destriers, sending a hail of bullets after Nana, along with smoke grenades.

Beaks
Shou doesn't work that way. It's just a push.

Shouaku is the telekinesis spell, and it explicitly states that it can't work with zanpakuto or people.

(Sayis uses the trained feat Shouaku Jukutatsu to use an enhanced version of Shouaku... and even that can't grab a zan. That's why he uses Pseudo Blades with it.)

Also, your ring is still active for now, so collar is null.

As the gray stones crumbled to the ground, the opalescent white light burst through the new passageway and the headstrong woman instantly breached the threshold. Before the reaper could move forward to follow in the walker’s footsteps, a barrage of bullets shred through the air, just before the metallic echo of a grenade bouncing through the opening. The assassin could barely react before Manzou had carried in the woman’s wake and thrown up a shield to repel the blasts.

Raifuku knew we’d make it this far...

As the bullets continued to sizzle through the air, the pink haired man and the former captain of the Templars rushed the room, their movements beginning to slow as Igasho’s pulse grew louder. The raging sound that came from the gunfire and torrential energy became muted, slowly drowned out by the internal silence that overcame the prisoner.

Can we so readily overcome this? Do they know what this man is capable of – what we’re rushing into?

Igasho’s foot moved forward, his hand sliding his zanpakuto from the sheath. His body pivoted forward, beginning to run. His instinct could no longer battle with his concern. Footsteps pounded the rubble, mimicking the steady heartbeat within the warrior’s chest, and the energy of his inner spirit thrummed within his veins, begging for freedom.

“My fury extends to my brother,” the words left the bearded man’s lips quietly. “Let him strike down the enemy I cannot... Bakudou Forty-Six, Ningyō Tsukaiken.”

The clone immediately became manifest amongst the trail of Nana’s emblazoned energy and the gunblasts. The clone dove through the doorway turning to the right and Igasho followed, moving to the left. The light of the room quickly dimmed and revealed the monstrous machine that they had been searching for – Buryoku Gaikou. It took a forced thought to draw Igasho’s eyes from the prized object but , as he did, his attention was immediately caught by the sheer number of guards and the fortified Destriers beginning to levy their attack. Smoking grenades raced through the air, tumbling around the opened wall, sending the acrid smoke around them all. The searing burn instantly filled Igasho's nose, causing him to instinctively turn away, his arm covering his mouth and nose. As he stumbled forward, trying to move from the smoke, another attack landed, sending a blast of explosive energy up from the ground. The fiery explosion rippled across the exposed side of the former officer, burning through part of his shihakusho and the surface of his skin.

The pain surged through Igasho's body but it wasn't enough to do more than momentarily slow him down. Those who had forged ahead were a great deal more powerful than the former assassin so he needed to choose his moves wisely. With little time to reconsider, the brawny warrior and his clone moved behind the others, coming around them and moving ahead toward the guards that had their attention towards Nana and the doorway. Moving into a flash step, Igasho sped down the long corridor and toward the occupied guards, his blade aimed at striking them down.

"The devil himself reduces the world to cinders."

The Tenth captain moved like a gale of wind, flickering in and out of the barrage of bullets. Although her body moved with an absolute sense of calm, she couldn't think, couldn't perceive. But it was her trust in the divine that lifted her on ethereal wings and helped her dodge the rounds through the wisdom of Hermes.

"All around the children scream as all they have known..."

But even at this pinnacle of mystic clairvoyance, at this apical zenith of divine knowledge and physical craft, Lilith could not escape the entirety of the machines' violent flurry. Her clothes grew heavy with wetness. The smoke of the multiple grenade storm burned her eyes and nostrils, irritating her senses as if trying to melt away a layer of skin. The searing pain spread all over her form and every pull of muscle, every stretch of movement only worsened its vicious effects.

"...is reduced to ash."

She grit her teeth, struggling to finish the lengthy incantation while hoping to survive this violent, mechanical spray. One bullet tore into her shoulder. The force of another blasted into her thigh. She even felt a third claw hungrily at her cheek, and her peripheral vision caught a suspended line of red as she swept past the floating trail of blood.

"The flames of war dance!"

Then in desperation for some reprieve, the Divine captain forced all of the sweat, tears, blood of the battlefield dry of its liquid. The fluid sucked into a condensed conglomeration of massive proportion -- an aqueous, lymphatic wall -- that dropped down in a heave, which temporarily blocked Lilith and the others behind her from the barrage of bullets.

"The fallen cries block out the victory chants.

"Hadou Number Eighty-Three, Volcanic Summit!"

Just as the captain's shield appeared on the brink of breaking apart, the land behind the Destriers shifted for a moment before erupting fully upward as an earthy, mountainous spire that broke free from the ground. The summit opened with its ferocious maw, and in an instant, shot violent comets of magma that hurled through the sky and swept like balls of chaos across the battlefield.

Calling out to all of the Seireitei warriors, Lilith commanded both telepathically and aloud, "Use the volcano to bolster your attacks!"

As the final word left her lips, Kaiousei no Tate shattered in a watery blend of particles that washed the battlefield grounds.
[438]

P.S. "Busy" =/= "Lazy"

Also, I'm assuming that these infantrymen have no reiatsu, so Lil is throwing them around with Soshi. But if a GM disapproves, let me know.

A soothing bell, the third to ring.

As the volcano of Lilith’s kidou exploded outward onto the ground, Nana’s reiatsu began to mingle with the heat, with the flames and the magma that poured forth, intensifying her already terrifying fire-based reiatsu even more.

Suddenly the vie-captain’s wyvern grew in size and proportion, tearing through the Destrier it had in its grasp like a knife through butter. All around her volcanic ash and magma poured past her, and soon the ground below her had turned into a blaze, crumpled, broken, but Nana simply stood there in the middle.

Unhurt, waiting, contemplating.

A soothing bell, the fourth of six.

As she remained passive, the mix of Lilith’s kidou and her own heated reiatsu tracking any and all bullets save for an odd one left and right.

She just stood there, in the middle, Destriers and infantrymen alike surrounding her.

Still she waited, and her eyes were closed.

[155/455]

Because Nana remained stationary throughout this turn Atatamaru charged 15% reiatsu instead of 7.5% making it now 30% stored.

Her wyvern was empowered by the magma/lava/fire from Lilith's kidou b/c... fire.

As well as her reiatsu.

Guys, just keep 'em occupied for one more turn please, 'cause then hell can start being unleashed.

Then the Prison Lord entered the fray. Having been otherwise preoccupied before, Ishin Intended to help with these annoying machines. A smile split his face as he remembered the last time he had fought things like this. He had ended up putting the spire of a building through it then, and this time he would be no less lenient. Especially not after they had shot Lilith.

His axe came down in gigantic arcs, slicing through metal like it were paper. Even without thinking, he was constantly altering the gravity of the surrounding area to effect the mechanical enemies. They were thrown this way and that as a pulse of negative gravity radiated from his body. Weaving in and out of the flames and lava, he was like a swirling Ifreet, his weapon coated in flame and his armor dripping smoke.

Eventually, he stopped. He was standing before the enemy, his frame between them and Nana. One of them tried to shoot him, but his gravity well simply forced the bullet away. Another took a pot shot to try and hit the girl behind him, but since the force of his gravity was so intense it missed and flew wide right, hitting one of the others in the head and splitting it open. Ishin, for his part, simply stood his ground, his usual smile on his face.

"Come on then, why don't we have a little dance?"

The woman's rage rose to its zenith, bolstering the white flames that surrounded her to new and terrifying heights. Those men who had spread throughout the room were hammered with the whole of the former Captain's strength, the most resilient of them unable even to stand. With the minor annoyances dealt with, Tsubaki started forward once again and began to speak in a voice still not her own.

"Flesh, bones, souls, weapons, buildings, plants..."

In truth, the creature had intended to use the spell regardless of what the woman's allies were doing. The fact that the Mystic Captain had used a spell that bolstered fire was just icing on an already far-too-fattening cake.

"...all of life and all of mankind's innovations, existence itself, nothing more than ashes."

The flames around her body flickered in hue, dancing between the searing alabaster that held the minor attackers paralyzed and scintillating bands of crimson and sapphire...the flames of magic. Her eyes remained focused on the three remaining robotic suits, and the men within them. Did they know that those steel monstrosities would become their graves? Did it matter?

Suppose not.

"Ittou Kasou."

The floor of the chamber glowed red hot, then white in the span of seconds. Beneath the three robots a blade born of nothing short of hell itself raced upwards, engulfing the trio of attackers in a pillar of unquenchable fire. The roar of energy and consuming conflagration filled the chamber and the ears of those within it, drowning out all other noise for a few precious seconds.

Just as quickly as it had come the blade retreated in a backwards thrust, returning to the unseen hell from whence it came. Just in front of where Amaterasu had stood only a glowing and pitted trench remained, decorated with three red-hot balls of seared slag.

With her weapon firmly in hand, the former Captain continued to advance with a smile.

A chorus of popping magma and the woof of molten rocks streaming through the air, all of it intertwined inharmoniously within the snapping of automatic weapons fire and the twisting of Destrier metal, excited the Sixth Seat’s senses of everything around him outside of the sphere of the Break of Dusk spell. Flashes of heat washed over him as comets of earth whizzed past him and tore into the once-immaculate planes of the chamber.

In mere seconds, the control room had become a sweltering sauna of ethereal fire and stark smoke and fog.

The imperceivable earth beneath his feet tremored and then faulted violently, tossing Manzou off of his feet with the rest of the infantrymen around him. In his somersault, the black veil of the obscuring Kidou spell evaporated around him, revealing the abated and deformed floor and walls of the room---and the pools of magma welcoming him below.

The scaled arms of Tatsunokuchi thrust the flickering points of Mujihi and Ryakudatsu into the deliquesced walls, giving him a firm---albeit disoriented---foothold. His eyes shifted to his right, glimpsing fire and blood and an overwhelmed outfit of humans and their mechanisms. Beads of sweat rolled down Manzou’s forehead, falling from his brow as the pungent smog bit at his vision---which was centered directly on the contraption in the middle of the room.

Looking down at his suspended self, blood leaked from new wounds, each throbbing with a sizzling pain that left all limbs hanging flaccidly. Black fire poured from them first and, soon after, manifested from and covered every inch of his being until Manzou became distinctly black all over.

Blood splashed over the molten silver pools, boiling atop the metal only briefly before burning from crimson to black: the one-armed Destrier did not stop, did not even slow. Jets roaring, the armored suit blasted straight ahead until it slammed its bloody lance into the wall in a shower of stone fragments and a squeal of torn metal.

Amaterasu Nana was pinned there, the lance ripping up through her stomach and out the back of her ribs. The lance miraculously missed both lungs and her heart, but it was hard to tell if she would live long enough to rejoice over that. The Destrier tugged on the lance; when it didn't budge it released the weapon and turned around, preparing to launch itself at the next available target and instead finding itself face-to-face with Katsuji Ishin.

There was no hesitation: it fired its jets, desperately trying to body-slam the prison captain, not even wasting time to cock its fist back.

The world had turned to smoke and ash, hot magma spewing from cracks in the mountain which erupted from below, silver plates still bolted to its surface in places. The peak of the mountain rose straight up, tearing straight through the ceiling with the sound of cracking granite and snapping bedrock. The roaring flames of hell summoned by the former Templar Queen seared the very air, further stifling the entire room, the heat wearing at everyone.

The shinigami as well as the guards felt the combined heat in their bones, sweat pouring from their bodies, everyone struggling desperately to breathe as oxygen was burned through far faster than the lone hole they had created could hope to cope with.

The silver-plated room might as well have been a boiler or Hell itself.

Even in such nightmarish conditions, the guards maintained their discipline. Those who had been knocked from their feet scrambled up. Those who had lost their machine guns ripped their shotguns from over their shoulders... or in the case of two men who had lost both, pulled side-arms from their side-holsters. Shouts of terror clamored out, however, as the spewing magma caught one of the men, incinerating his legs in seconds. Two others collapsed, choking, overwhelmed by the heat and the smoke.

Another guard rushed straight in, grabbing his partner and dragging him from the flames. As if they had trained for this a thousand times, the men held each other up, the injured man taking the machine-gun awkwardly while his able-bodied companion pulled out his pistol. Even as they retreated, they were firing their weapons desperately.

The empty cylinders of Buryouku Gaikou shattered, exploding outward in a shower of glass, barely even audible over the roar of flying lava and hissing clouds of ash. The third cylinder did not shatter outright, but as the contents bubbled and frothed, cracks formed on the surface... including one thin crack all the way through.

A single drop of inky blackness poured through the crack. It slid down the glass, buffeted by shockwaves but drawn inexorably downward. It dripped from the edge of the machine, landing on the white-hot plate of silver below it with a sizzle.

That single drop shot rapidly upward in a stream of smoke and turned into a thin cloud of miasma.

Then another drop fell, and another, each drip of toxin thickening the black cloud.

From the molten red trench left behind by Tsubaki, there came a sudden barrage of explosions, the superheated grenades exploding within one of the Destrier's arms. A shower of red-hot shrapnel flew across the room, taking out one of the guards at the knee with more shards heading at Tsubaki and Igasho.

Then, one of the seemingly eradicated Destriers, still glowing red, couched its lance and launched itself at Tsubaki without warning. The last one, also mobile, dropped its melted lance and instead shot itself at Lilith, using its own red-hot body as its weapon.

Those guards who had managed to escape the indiscriminate lava flows took aim at the targets nearest them, a barrage of bullets flying through the ash and smoke, two men even taking aim at Manzou up above.

Uh, no. Not only do you not get double-bonus for doing nothing, you don't get the luxury of doing nothing and saying that you're completely unharmed. You had twelve machine guns, a bunch of hand grenades, a barrage of rocket-propelled grenades from two Destriers, and the third Destrier launching itself at you with a lance.

You have been impaled. It was not a Cicada.

It's a good time to find out how effective your healing is.

His axe came down in gigantic arcs, slicing through metal like it were paper. Even without thinking, he was constantly altering the gravity of the surrounding area to effect the mechanical enemies. They were thrown this way and that as a pulse of negative gravity radiated from his body.

It's tempered steel and unknown metal alloy, powered partly by captured hollow souls and the operators' own reiatsu. It's not paper. You're going to have to put some serious effort into each swing if you want to cut into the armor instead of denting it, and I wouldn't expect to be ripping through anything unless you use a special attack.

You are also not immune to a hailstorm of reiatsu-infused bullets without even looking at them.

Lil: Yes, they have reiatsu.

To everyone else: no, these infantry guys aren't captains or Vasto Lordes but they outnumber you, are extremely well-armed, and have the distinct advantage of team strategy. It varies depending on what weapons they're using, but to give you perspective, at minimum you can be expecting ~500 reiatsu worth of attacks per round per guard. That means at the start of this fight, you were eating 12,000 reiatsu worth of machine-gun fire, before even accounting for five armored suits and grenades being thrown or shot. You can expect less from the 2-3 guys who are down to their sidearms, but for everyone else, if they're doing more than just holding sustained fire, they're doing more than 500 rei worth of damage, and if you have a dozen people shooting at you, you need to be doing something to defend yourself.

You guys were in an enclosed chamber. You are doing some real damage with the stacking fire attacks, but at this point, you're just about to toast yourselves. Volcanic Summit alone will spread out to cover the entire room. Heat is building up and smoke is filling the area -- on top of the acrid smoke grenades that were shot out -- and you should probably do something about that.

I shouldn't even mention what a bad idea it would be to touch the black cloud.

The striped Destrier is still shielding itself.

And whilst all of this took place, a particular pink-haired soul reaper bought his time to prepare for the most opportune moment. There was a reason why he had been less active than he usually would have been in a fight, and it soon became apparent why.

Through the increasingly chaotic scenario going on around him and the blazing temperatures that threatened to boil him to a crisp right then and there, Ryoujin scowled as he attempted to evade the fires from his allies along with the barrage of gunfire raining down upon him. A few bullets managed to graze him, and blood instantly spewed forth. Staggering back as his breathing became heavier, he tried to maintain his ground. Instead of concentrating on his wounds though, he concentrated on trying to keep himself alive in these conditions.

There was absolutely no way that he would be able to get his message across with how hectic things were becoming.

Seriously now... and here I thought I was flashy, he thought, bringing his zanpakutou back. With some of the contents of Buryoku Gaikou spilling forth, he knew that he would have to do something before the others got themselves killed along with him.

"Winter's breath, the glacial apocalypse," he began, just in time to notice the Destriers once more taking aim to fire their weapons, "Forty-three ice floes, seventy-two white rivers. A gelid landscape remains.

Hell itself freezes before the power to start an Ice Age."

As the bullets shot forth, he shouted, "Hadou ninety-four, Hyouga Seiran!!!"

Thrusting Kazeoni forth to act as a guard, a gargantuan wave of ice and snow shot forth, attempting to quell the fires and prevent the bullets from reaching his comrades.

...we're gonna get ourselves killed if we don't stop with all of these fire-based abilities. If everything drips out from the cylinders, then who knows what could happen..

The crassitude of the air was growing. An intense dose of tart and cinder-like aroma played hell with his nasal cavities, less so as a pungent smell and much more the same as if a new hole was being bored into his face by an electric drill. It didn’t take long for a thick glaze to form over his irises or for all four corners of his eyes to flush out the same liquid. Though his vision remained unblurred and undistorted, it may as well have been; where his mind was focused on the men in front of him, his eyes involuntarily squinted nearly shut and one hand rubbed and guarded them.

After a moment, Manzou was able to steal back control of enough of himself to be able to search what was happening in front of him. Two sets of iron sights were set between him and two shooters, each ready to fire. Time slowed to a crawl and his body was his once again.

The arms of his manifestation dispersed into nothingness, the writhing black flames of its composition returning anew as a bloated set of hon maru dou-style armor fit for a being ten times his size. The robust wall of condensed flames solidified just before the bullets hit, each one hitting with more force and effect than the last in that fleeting moment. The dragon’s trunk and the next volley bullets cancelled each other out.

Before the next shots crossed the breadth, that pitch-black void that was Manzou was gone.

The Herald reappeared underneath their leveled weapons with a prowler’s swiftness. Tatsunokuchi moved even faster in a wide arc to amputate the first shooter. Manzou’s next step would throw him at the other shooter to dismember him the same. A flash of ice crusted over the second man before his Zanpakutou could reach him. A headlong dive to the side saved Manzou from the same fate.

Regaining his balance and overall scope of the broad battlefield, Manzou's eyes incidentally found his lieutenant---her abdomen lanceted by one of Destrier constructs. His eyes widened, every muscle in his body tensing up simultaneously. Every inch of his torso, wholly beared and still scared, was the palest hue of red and warm to the touch. The already-unsound ground beneath the teeth of his sandals were depressed further as his legs bent and momentum was gathered at the balls of his feet. Just before the Sixth Seat launched forward, Tatsunokuchi glimmered bright white and quivered outward along its edge into its true, swollen form. Silver, granite, and ash burst out and fluttered wildly in the air in his manic wake.

NANA---!

A fire as literal as any other burning in the chamber billowed through every inch of his being, made him ignorant of all else. Manzou gleaned past the infantrymen firing at his comrades, their backs turned to him, and swung his meter-long blade through them. His panicked eyes on Nana the entire time, every step carried the Herald closer and closer to his superior---his friend---and the soulless metal construct.

Used Kouken again to materialize torso of my manifestation (think Susano'o ribcage) to block bullets; it's 10% of my rei (~2.4k). Assumed it got hit by at least four bullets so it shattered. Shoushinjisatsu still going, in its second round. One more round to heal (moderate?) bullet wounds.

For the sake of not ignoring Shun's efforts, added one infantryman getting hit with ice Kidou thingamajig.

Last edit, forreals this time. Just heading towards Nana. Since I was near the BG machine, assuming I won't get to her this turn. Will get word count after class.

Ishin, no!” The nightmare became real again. The image of his last, painful, conscious breath slashed across her eyes. Lilith would not watch idly and let the prison lord fall to the whims of another sadist enemy...

As the Destrier propelled itself like a bull, ramming forward at Ishin, Lilith suddenly focused all her energy on making the jet construct her own. Its velocity was intense, the fire racing out from the jet’s body and speeding the Destrier's course deepened the force behind it and made the Destrier’s propulsion in a singular line near-absolute.

The captain’s focus swelled at the expense of danger. More and more bullets swept into her. The effects of Senrigan weakened as the sensations of endless pellets continued to strike against flesh. She felt the holes rip into her body as some penetrated through to the other side of her being while others dislodged into her muscles and bones.

Stop!”

And then the jet's inner metal squelched and turned sideways. Although Lilith couldn’t control it entirely, she kicked the Destrier’s course off just enough to miss Ishin and slam thunderously into the wall beside him.

Once she saw that Ishin was safely unharmed, Lilith recoiled, keeling over from the number of bullets that invaded her body. A moment of clarity forced her to notice that she still stood only because an ice wall had stopped many of the attackers from continuing their firing onslaught. Other grenades flew into the air, and Lilith caught all of them with Soshi, and instead, hurled them back at any remaining infantrymen that she could find. Many of them were frozen in the apocalyptic glacial wave, but the few that remained mobile were victims of their own weapons.

And then, like a crashing boulder of burning charcoal, another Destrier slammed into her.

The massive, sweltering weight of the red-hot machine shoved Lilith off-balance and dragged the woman with its will. So focused on saving the others around her, the mystic captain completely missed the overwhelming behemoth of danger that rammed into her. The Destrier pushed her into the nearby wall, literally pinning the mystic captain under its hot, burning weight. Its searing body blistered parts of her own skin while charring the blood that soaked her haori an intense black.

Lilith struggled to wriggle herself free and shove the Destrier off of her. And only through her training in Hakuda was she able to remove herself from the Destrier’s cauterizing grasp. Breathless and writhing in pain, the captain sought reprieve by suddenly disappearing and becoming as evanescent as the ever-moving smoke.

P.S. I removed the section of throwing infantrymen around with Soshi in my previous post.\

As the red-hot-robot* launched itself towards the former Captain, something wholly unexpected happened.

She grinned.

It was left a mystery whether the grin came from Tsubaki herself or of the other, more malevolent spirit that now seemed to be in temporary control of her body. Whatever the case, the woman did little more than keep grinning as the hurtling spear of the attacker slammed into her midsection, taking both victim and vindicator backwards several meters.

The blow hit clean, going clear through the diminutive frame of the former Captain and out the other side. However, she only continued to smile and lean as much as she was able closer to the pilot of the suit.

"Shhhh shh shh." It was soothing almost, a sliver of humanity and comfort in a sea of death and agony. She hushed the pilot who was in a fair dominion of pain himself like a mother would quiet a fussing child. "It's okay, really. Don't fret, little one." She smiled, a lesser thing of unsettling malice than it had been. Bit by bit, the woman slowly eased herself off of the searing hot lance, pressing off with her feet once they had a good hold.

With one last grunt which bore a strange mixture of pain and enjoyment, Tsubaki hit the ground in front of the Destrier. She was up seconds later, balancing on unsteady legs and chuckling to herself. A low and altogether evil sound crept from her throat, making it all the more obvious that Tsubaki herself was not home at the moment.

"Shhhh. This is the best part."

The pilot of the suit could only look on in horror as the gore and searing pain he had paid her disappeared before his very eyes. It wasn't healing, that would have been a mercy. It was as if the blow had never occurred in the first place. Not half a second after the wound was negated a twin of the former Captain appeared next to her, brandishing a sword of living flame that had also found a twin in the hands of the original woman. With one last smile the two threw the burning blades at the stunned Destrier, knocking him back with unrivaled force into one of the pulsing clouds of miasma.

So yeah, -600 for Ningyo/Ascalon Spell, Freebie death negation from BK, double Lightbringer all the way across the sky -30% temp. Also, if it wasn't obvious yet, that is not Tsubaki.

*Honestly, how many chances do I get to type that?
