A sharp ringing sounded in the pirate's ears as the dust from the resulting explosion swirled around him. He used his left hand to grip his weapon and planted the flat end of his long weapon into the ground to lift himself up with and looked up, to be rewarded with the sound of two gunshots. He stiffened, and glared to see the woman wielding a gun with a broken arm and scowled. She may be a lady but he'd bring her a hefty bit of pain at least before he he let her blow his newly met shipmates.

He rose himself up to full height, and crouched with his naginata held halfway down the shaft and tensed the muscles in his arm to throw the lithe blade at his adversary; It was that second however, that the very same arm's nerves exploded into a firestorm of pain.

"Argh!" he growled in pain as the bullet embedded itself in the wall behind him, and the grip on his blade weakened before he drew his other hand up to grip it before it fell. "Serpens damn you, vis forsaken wench..." His face turning into a wicked cross between a grin and a grimace as he drew up his other hand, covered with jingling bangles and curled it towards his shoulder before flicking it free.

"That was the hand I use for pleasin company." He growled as ropes sprung up from the ground upon his new but wounded adversary.

The rapport struck true on all fronts, each of the three targets feeling the raw burn and explosion of pain from the vitatium bullets. Bann fell flat on his back, clutching at his side where blood began to seep from. Coughing, he felt his consciousness begin to fade, silver encroaching on the edges of his vision. Pell stumbled and fell, groaning with the burning lances of pain that shot up his now-hamstringed leg.

Hikaru, for his grandstanding, quickly paled as his arm bled profusely. Shock passed quickly, and he grit his teeth as he completed his incantation. The Auspex grit her teeth, cold fury powering her through pain as she shot forward with surprising speed. The glowing ropes failed to grasp her, the woman's blur of a form sliding to a stop with the barrel of her handgun leveled at Hikaru's head.

Breathing heavily, Zephyrus posed her words to all those gathered. "Look around you, all of you. Is this the path to peace, to change? Is this what you want? Pain, suffering? This is our home, do not let it fall to such barbarism in the name of revolution. Stand tall in the day! Fight in the halls of those you would seek justice against, defeat them on the terms of the people you claim to serve!"

Lowering her handgun, the desperado clutched her broken arm tiredly. "Let there be no more death on this day."

Aureax, having tied off impromptu bandages over his wounds, threw his head back and shouted, "She's right! Lay down your weapons! Nobody wins if this keeps going!" He grit his teeth and glared at the woman. It wasn't even satisfying to see her in pain, because it was only to fuel her own ego. There was no doubt in his mind that there were dozens of guards nearby, ordered to stay back.

If they kept fighting, though, people were going to die, and more of them would be the Astra members than not.

He only hoped that Amgine had been smart enough to slip away. While the bulk of their group might be captured, as long as a few certain ones got away, there would still be hope.
