“Of course, Chikao. You know that I will go to any lengths for the good of the people.” Patting the crimson-eyed man on the shoulder, Orion pulled him close in a strong yet friendly manner and murmured, “I trust you’ll do the same.” The duo shared a look of understanding as Orion relieved his grip and let his friend go. “And don’t forget, you are scheduled for watch duty three hours from now.”

Once separated, the tall leader turned to his future gate partner and spoke, “Professor, thank you for the offering, but I will decide on how we shall proceed to enter the gates later. Although I appreciate the suggestion, I will ponder the state of affairs and discuss your suggestion with our cohorts.” Eyes maintaining an air of solemnity, he nodded slowly and let his gaze follow the man into the shadows until he faded from view.

Shifting around, the Roman turned his back to the campfire and followed Scarlett back to their tent. With a slight wave of the hand, he gestured for the woman to enter.

Glancing over his shoulder, Orion called, “Ryu.” The long blue hair of his comrade swiftly spun around. “Keep watch for Rayon’s and Haruki’s signal. Alert me if necessary. Chikao will relieve you of your post in three hours.”

The pair shared a nod of agreement before Orion turned and followed Scarlett into the tent.

Ritsuko gave a genuine smile to the man would was going to work with her in setting up distractions at the Southern gate for another group. Those foolish death god were going to get what was coming after so many years. She wasn't going to necessarily give them pain quiet yet – that was for the people in the front lines to handle. It was time for dark-haired woman to get a good night's rest before the big day.

Looking at the Southern that dropped hints in front of her for no apparent reason, she shook her head in disbelief as he walked passed. She firmly was going to live the rest of her life as a widower and not fall in love – or bed another man to relieve her sorrows. In the end, it was a good choice by the blue-eyed woman not joining in the front lines. As she left the area, Ritsuko hoped that Samuel doesn't follow her to her bed area.
