[PM][C/4th/8th/11th/12th] Week ---: Sins of the Father

His voice rang out almost in concert with his fellow Templar though he was hardly aware of it. "Bankai!" He roared with his face still turned skyward. Branches, leaves, and lose debris was sucked toward him in a in a fierce torrent of the gravity well within his soul. Silent thunder clapped out sending an invisible shock wave suddenly rippling away as his transformation took hold.

The purity of his rage cleared his mind, if for the moment, and in that clarity he saw the multi-armed creature revealed as it had been challenged. Zakeriah stepped fully into the field coming up behind his fellow third seat. One of his silver eyes traced Kago in case the fool dared to come at them as well. "What a magnificent foe." He muttered to himself as he approached the center of this field. His grin was too wide, too excited; Amaya had already taken the lead so he may as well follow suit. The Black Wolf exploded forward, his blade cracking with power.

The words of the hollow resonated with the medic. Staring at the puddle of blood that was collecting he thought to himself, ]I’’m certainly wallowing in something, with all this... He trailed off, overwhelmed by guilt. The guilt that he was responsible for the death of most of his classmates. The guilt of Stephanie being maimed in the same incident. The guilt of not stopping Hao from assisted suicide. The guilt of holding back his team. The guilt of intending to murder them, a feeling he still faintly harboured and the guilt of not even lifting a finger from staying the former Captain’s blade.

Then suddenly calm, he didn’t care any more. The world was still, silent, motionless. I will make it up. As the lord cursed Cain I curse you all! Anyone who so much as scratches someone dear to my heart, I promise you I shall personally repay it not seven, but one hundred fold! Even if I tear myself apart to do it, I shall have satisfaction. I must have satisfaction, or die trying! I’m sick of being the weak link! Raifuku, this is all YOUR fault! I will find you, and you will suffer death several hundred times for what you have done!

Blue petals flowed over the shinigami as his incoherent rage bubbled.

“We choose our own deaths you say? Well I’m sorry to disappoint you but you cannot meet my demands. I am required to die no less than two thousand eight hundred times to appease the guilt of my sins. Such an exchange is beyond you.”

Blue petals now flourished over David. As did red flowers begin to bloom upon the prisoner’s open chest wound. The medic hunkered down after hearing someone, somewhere behind him releasing their Bankai. I can wait for you. You will suffer your apportioned punishment demon-hollow.

1 turn of charging

Bōeki (Exchange) Transfer damage from one target to another, David pays 3% of his total reiatsu to do this. The damage transferred is determined by how long the attack was charged. One turn for a minor wound, three for a medium wound and six for a large wound, Charging takes up one turn, in which no offensive actions or blocking can be performed.

so yeah, this is near enough a trump card,
and my only actual Shikai attack :P

The former captain of the Twelfth reacted in a way that Igasho wouldn’t have expected, but was almost relieved to hear. Confirming everything that the assassin has been dwelling on internally, Kago had moved with the anticipated urgency needed but toward the bearded man instead of the nemesis.

The noble’s blade pierced the warrior’s chest, releasing the forethought of his well-laid plans. Giving Mitsuhito, Amaya, the other Templar and the healer enough time, they would have inevitably worn themselves down, lashing away at the enemy’s strength, ultimately leaving Igasho with the upper-hand of having kept his strength, just as he had been able to do for the last encounter. Leaving little obstacle in his way, he could have easily taken their kanji and moved forward, taking solace in the assumption that their demise would not have been their true fate. Recoiling as one would naturally do, the assassin seized the instinct to fight back, remaining in control of his emotion and the surge of thoughts.

Saying nothing, the bearded shinigami looked down at the blade and back up at the younger-looking man. The affirmation of their shared deduction was enough for the former officer to be hopeful for what lied beyond. Igasho held the blade and stepped back, sliding away from the steel. His energy drained almost immediately as the solid beating of his heart came to a slow stop. Dropping to his knees, The Death God furrowed his brow slightly, sharing a confirming look with the spellblade, just before closing his eyes. The young medic would soon rush over to heal the wound but, as Igasho welcomed the darkness, there was nothing left to keep him in that dreary world.

Spotting the forms of the two shinigami’s bankai racing toward the hollow, a smirk appeared on the vice-captain’s face.</SPAN>

“Then claim it!” he shouted back at the beast. Despite the shaking in his arm from the weakness of hunger, Kago kept his blade locked with the trident and turned to receive the oncoming blow of the mace. Just before the weapon made contact with his side, he cried out: “Tangent!”
</SPAN>

Immediately, a burst of energy roared into life between the two objects. The nobleman didn’t care if the barrier was enough to completely block the attack, but it should give his comrades enough time to strike the hollow while two of its arms were occupied.

[682]

A sibilant hiss slipped through its maws, the dusty rasp of centuries past by it. The distant sun poked dimly through the trees and for a brief moment, the creature was lit up by the light.

Then it faded, and as the assault neared the creature the forest was once more plunged into darkness. It could feel the slow reckoning of the weakest, its previously dismissed capabilities now readily acknowledged.

Its arms were thrown wide, its house-sized frame accenting its spindly limbs with all the consistency of an upright spider. The mace recoiled against the barrier, the hollow carrying the inertia with it around to smash against the bloodthirsty templar’s. A distant clang echoed through the stifled forest, a terrible clarity of sound that shook in the ears of all who enjoyed its presence.

The trident was shoved forward, slowly dragging down the traitor in their midst into the ground where he would soon rest. The spear which had tasted the blood of the newly tainted aggressor lashed out, catching the blades against the rigor mortis of the polearm.

They struggled and strained, but their blades did not budge, and as they attempted to back away from the clash the arms followed them outwards, their ghastly strength levelled upon them greedily.

These ones amused it, and so he would entertain himself with them. “The turn of centuries past at my heed, blessed men turned to dark and corrupt in their entropy. Foolish prey thinks itself predator...

“Angels do not weep for the dead, yet the demons cackle.”

Sin Eater’s energy did not relent, but instead intensified over the area around them. The haze of Amaya’s mind grew from simple pleasure to a distant arousal, the scream of her muscles straining against the Hollow enticing her ever more.

Mitsuhito had lost his capacity to stand, and in his lethargy could only gasp and cough for the air which was now being forced from his lungs by the malignant aura which surrounded the area. The distant rumble in Kago’s stomach roared ever louder, unsatiated with its meagre helpings as it shook his very core and body with its emptiness.

Zakeriah, now, felt a distant clang in his own mind, as it resonated against the clashing steel. The mace, which so casually forced him back, burnt in his heart. Such a weapon which could hardly be stopped by the Lieutenant, yet he stood with it evenly. The distant accomplishment echoed in his mind.

One of its three heads turned to face the medic, and Sin Eater sneered at the prey who adamantly threw itself on the sword for its victory. “Your laughter disgraces you, your sins exposed with your entrails. I have glimpsed the forsaken, and in them your cruelty. I took your sins...

“Let me show you mine.”

At once the jaw cracked open, its lower portion unhinging in a grotesque display as a distant red glow hummed in its gullet. He felt his power churn, and it fed it more. The glow became a fire, a glimpse of hell that reflected in the medic’s eyes as he unleashed its fury.

Hell lit the forest, and all became clear in the dismal crimson lighting of the hollow’s hunger. Time became meaningless, pointless in the instants by which the beam travelled, yet in that moment the forest was no longer silent, but alive.

Life that had previously been non-existent, yet squealed and shrieked as it burned. The trees, once silent, cracked and bristled with the heat as it cooked them before the force of the attack was levied against the shinigami himself.

Time became endless, a distant clockwork in David Graves’ mind as only a single number was made prominent.

Cero.

There was a yearning inside of Amaya. Something sticky, clinging to her mind and thoughts, calling her away, calling her to find it.

“Amaya...” the voice echoed through her, growing as it met her wounds. It resonated with the sweet agony, twisting into a familiar calling. “...Come find me Amaya, I need you...”

As it wrapped through the Templar, she knew what it was that she embraced, and she knew how to find her way through its sweet haze.

Her muscles strained in the deadlock, and she could only barely recognized the blast the left the hollow, and the warmth it projected only strengthened the allure wrapping its way around her.

Amaya said nothing as the sick orange blade slipped back from the deadlock, but she trembled as she felt her skin crawl when it found the crimson blade on her back. Her right hand shook weakly as for an instant it took the full force of the hollows pressure, but she only let that pressure last for an instant.

“Two can play at that game...” she muttered seductively.

All at once she clamped her teeth on her lip and moaning in ecstasy, she embraced a pain and lust fueled aggression that only a woman as twisted as her could enjoy. A bolt of energy leapt from the jet blade of Wrath, just as the blood red blade of Lust hammered into the hollow's weapon. She could feel the jolts of electricity reverberate through the steel, just as she felt a small whisp of the Lust she felt seep through their shared embrace and sink into the hollows being.

[270/701]
abilities

The Black Sword - Wrath:

In terms of Amaya's usage, wrath is the most blunt of the sins. She calls on it's power or rage and vengeance to launch deadly bolts of lightning, and simply smite those who cross her path.

This blade is nearly identical to its unreleased form. Battle worn it has a large number of dents and chips in its once polished obsidian blade.

When swinging this sword Amaya may pay 15% reiatsu to imbue it with raw electric power. This electricity is transferred into anything it touches. She may also swing the blade into the empty air, and send the electricity from the blade in a bolt of lightning.

While looking on this sword, one feels their hair creep up on the back of their neck. After all, seeing an incarnate of rage causes all but the most fortified of souls to flee.

The Red Sword – Lust:

When drawing on the powers inherent in lust, Amaya seeks to make herself as humanly desirable to her targets as possible. With each touch, Amaya's skin skin grows smoother, her lips redder, her movements more fluid, and anything else their target desires.

This blade is elegant, and appears to be made out of satin. The blade itself transitions between red and black depending on the angle it’s viewed.

Any time this blade touches another person or their weapon Amaya may pay 500 reiatsu to impart on them a weakened desire to fight. In doing this she replaces whatever feelings the individual has for her and replaces it with their desires. Every time Amaya does this the desires grow stronger, until after 5 applications she is, at least temporarily their deepest desire. She may only apply this once per turn.

While under the effects of lust, it is nearly impossible to discern the real from the fake. Even if Amaya is the exact opposite of what one wants, she simply becomes more and more irresistible...

'Stage 1'

Everything else began to fall away around Zakeriah to the point that nothing else was mattering. The creature had tried to crush him with its great mace and failed, much as it must, much as anything else that was raised against him might. The mace came down and the Templar's oversized blade caught it again, his muscles strained and once again forced it back. The golem was huge but it lacked technique, instead relying on its own brute to crush its opponents. Such tactics were clearly foolhardy especially since the creature was clearly lacking in comparison to Zak as he found all to be.

The second, phantom blow struck just under the head of the weapon with the same sort of pressure and kept it from descending again. Amaya struck the hollow with her lovely, not so lovely as his, blades but she seemed to be caught in some sort of ecstasy. Apparently she had fallen under some sort of sway, nothing like that could happen to him of course and nothing would.

Before the weapon could come down again Zak charged forward following Amaya's crimson assault, himself determined to make her wound bigger. Perhaps show her how it's done....

powa
Stage 1: 5% Rei activates the same effect as Touch for three (3) turns. The only difference is the second blow now comes from a random direction and angle though it impacts the same general area.

The twisted energies of the cero enveloped David, the force of it bared down on him like a column of water. The medic refused to fall to it, taking but a single step back was unbearable, unthinkable.

The shinigami’s feet began to sink into the dirt.
I’m not done. The bark of his shikai was being stripped away. I’m not done! Crystallized amber started to scratch and blind the healer. Not yet! David struggled a step forward against the barrage of energy. Is this all you’ve got! The enraged shinigami now leaped forward. Blind and in agonising pain his body seemed to swing wildly at the direction he last saw the twisted hollow responsible for the blast. Feeling the cero force its way through his body his rage quickly turned to despair. But I’m not done...

[136/980] Final

3rd "death" this PM,
think I might start a collection :P

He did not feel anything, he did not hear anything and he did not see anything; at least not until he was pressed down by the hollows growing aura, grasping for air.

He opened his eyes only to see the hollow releasing a cero in David’s direction. Under normal conditions, he would have tried to help his teammate, but lethargy overcame him once more.

Slowly, he tried to stand up; tried to stem himself against the sheer force the hollows power created. However, he was not able to; he was just too lazy to try it. Laying himself down again, he wanted to sleep, but he was sure that this would be his last sleep if he really slept in.

With his body pressed down on the ground, he only had one other option.

“The skies break open and thunder pours down. Tremble and see the sparks lunge. Bakudou number fourty-eight, Gorogoro.”

With the last word spoken, the sky began to turn black, releasing a swarm of thunderous electric cats all over the area.

Oh so sleepy.

[177/967]

Kidou
sorry for the wait, but now, have fun with my cats^^.
Gorogoro (Thundering Purring) - Bakudou #48, 800 Kidou
Description
: Upon casting, a swarm of cat-shaped balls of lightning rain out of the sky around the targeted area. The cats thrum with power, making a distinct purring noise audible from several feet away. While not sapient, the lightning cats react to movement, immediately pouncing at anything that moves too much or too quickly, friend or foe. The cats will remain where they are for two rounds after being cast before dissipating -- staying still or moving very slowly may spare a person from attack. The kidou can be continued by paying the cost again. Each does 5% of the total damage, although most will usually swarm the same target.

Incantation: The skies break open and thunder pours down. Tremble and see the sparks lunge. Bakudou #48, Gorogoro.

He felt the feeling roil into his mind, and it laughed. The deep-throated chortle of some strangled voice coughed out of its three mouths, and as the bolt of lightning struck its torso the laughter rose. Bubbling pitch spewed from the wound, the cauterized edges incongruous with the blackened shroud, leaving brown scorches as its mark.

Still the laughter rose, the strangled chortle warping into a disembodied hilarity, its three voices meshing into a threnody of the amused being. The laughter tapered off abruptly, and in that instant it moved.

The mace swung outwards, twisting the body of the hollow with it and dragging the trident deeper into the lieutenant’s scimitar. Now the traitor was flush against the ground, both hands braced to keep the terrible weapon from piercing his chest. The hunger roared, but his mind screamed back for more. The nothingness began to consume him, a visible grimace passing his face as his very core shook with the demand for satiation.

The spear came backwards, and so the bolas were once more employed, the lower arm swinging upwards in a throw. The blades of the woman came forward, her body and mind screaming with the agony she adored so, before they became muddled and tangled in the smoky cords of the weapon. The shield came up, the blades of the bloodthirsty fighter clanging deeply against its convex shape.

In its mirror sheen, the swordsman found himself reflected, and in that image a seed was placed. This mace...the one only he could stop...he wanted it. He deserved it. He needed it.

Once more, as the sins of the shinigami came to it in pitiable shape, he spoke and it’s voice carried to the tips of the canopy which obscured its form. “Gift of lust, causality lost, and all forget the cycle of the predator. Lust to desire...desire to hunger...hunger to fear...fear to power.

“Thank you for the meal.”

In its rare display of acknowledgement, the arms were thrown wide, forcing back all around as the cats, sloppily directed, dashed for the thrown forms of the shinigami. Turning its attention back to the traitor pinned yet again to the ground, he sneered and it recoiled before the weapon flung him aside, to join his entropic comrades.

[ 381 / 2529 ]

More of the world was ceasing to matter as the hollow worked a secondary obsession into the mind of the Templar. A sick kind of greed began to wash over him, he clearly had the power to stop the pitiful wretch anytime he so chose but how ever did the creature get such lovely armaments, and how did Zak not notice them before? This would never stand, if anyone deserved to be wielding those weapons it was him and him alone.

The hollow thrust out with its arms throwing everyone nearby away like leaves scattered by a great wind but the Black Wolf would not be deterred. The energy that danced from his arms collected into a single powerful bolt that lashed around the lang handle of the mace just as he skidded onto the forest floor. A sudden explosion against his badly damaged shield threw Zak the opposite direction, the shock of it shattering his energy chain. The remnants of the Claivaux shattered and went flying across the battlefield.

He rolled sloppily coming to a rest beside Amaya but he didn't notice it at the moment nor did he take a moment to wonder where that explosion had come from. All he knew was that he had lost grip of the mace somehow and he needed to get it back...

Teeth clamped down on the back of his brain with a cold wet shock. He could feel Kalu'aita's voice suddenly splitting his ears. 'Cats, where had these cats come from?' They were crackling with energy and several were stalking toward him and...'Amaya, where did she come from?' The closest feline pounced and Zak slashed at it putting his body between his fellow Templar and the attack. A second explosion thundered forth but the individual assault was not terribly potent against his Bankai.

'I can not hold this spell at bay for long pup! The hollow is constantly worming its way into your mind and will! Pride and Greed, if you can not break them redirect them...' Her last words drifted off as the fog began to creep in again.

With only seconds to react with his full wit Zak snatched Amaya by her wrist and flash stepped aside just as a small group of attracted cats pounced the two of them. He had to save her, had to save them all...he was too skilled to allow them to die. 'Damn it, focus...what do you want?' The mace? No, I want his head.'

[413/1300]

Power
Unstoppable Juggernaught: His resistance to binding carries over but has become considerably more potent as his engine is stoked to full intensity allowing him to expend 50% of the cost of a spell to break through it. In his Bankai state Zak's mind is so consumed by fire and fury this resistance now carries over to illusions and other mind effecting spells.

((I didn't fully break the spell cause it's a battle point and I assume persistent.))

The hollows webs were little more than minute distractions to the pain induced haze of desire that fueled Amaya. Dropping the tangled jet blade of Wrath in an instant, she hacked Lust free with the freed blade of Gluttony. Something as pathetic as traps wouldn't keep her from more of the pain she lusted for so badly.

For a moment she readied herself to charge, wallowing in the depths of her pain, barely observant of the new lightning bound cats. Then she was pulled back into the world for a moment as a Templar placed his body between herself and the new threats.

The haze lifted for an instant as she watched as the pair became surrounded by the creatures, and she prepared to fight without the overwhelming allure of the agony. But again Zak surprised her by pulling the pair from the battle.

The movement inspired a pulsing in the wound in her shoulder that caused her knees to tremble, and her mind to ache for more. She needed the pain, she needed the power it gave her to fight this foe. Where others would be lost in the mist she would grow in it, and become something greater...

Dropping Lust, Amaya clenched her hand on Zak's, and in a single swift movement she pulled his body in close to hers, and pulled his hand to the open wound on her shoulder. Shuddering, she pushed his fingers against the bloody opening, and for an instant there was only their body's pressed together, and the sweet burning his fingers brought. She smiled as she felt the warmth from his deep breaths on her face, and for a second she forgot about the hollow, and the battle at hand.

”Do not forget yourself Amaya!” Wrath boomed through her mind.

Laughing in her fellow Templar's face, she pulled his hand from the wound, and broke away from their shared embrace.

“Sorry,” she grinned while leaning over to reclaim the crimson blade of Lust. “I'm sure you're feeling it too, it's this hollow...”

As she waited for Zak to respond her eyes looked back to the battle, looking for an opening for the pair of them to attack again.

[368/1069]

There was a strange sensuality to what his fellow third seat had done, something the he couldn't quite compute as the hollow's sin effect began to rape his mind once again. "He is infusing me with something...all together different..." Zak said even as his eyes focused on his now bloodied fingers. "I'm managing to redirect it...but I'm not sure for how long..."

A wave of energy washed through Zakeriah illuminating the whole of his skeleton through his skin like some sort of twisted x-ray for a moment and the Templar growled in a combination of determination and anger. "I want his head...it is mine by right!" He hissed through clenched teeth.

Stage two

Zakeriah exploded forth in an angry rush of rage and energy directed for the multi-armed hollow. The attack was maddened and sloppy but his innate skill still lent a deadly directness that could be devastating if the others had the where with all to create an opening for him or else distract the beast for but a moment.

For a moment Amaya understood the hollow they were fighting. She understood as Zak jumped once more into the battle in an attempt to dismember their enemy, while instantly forgetting what she had just done to him. But the haze of the pain was growing too strong for her to think about it.

She could only follow suit, her body flashing into a shunpo to assure she arrived at the beast ahead of Zak, that her body could take the punishment before his could. Bringing the every growing blade of Gluttony and the blood red blade of Lust to bear, Amaya attached the nearest set of arms to herself in an attempt to get the beasts attention, and to remove one of the hollows limbs from the fray.

[128/1197]

Resigned to their fate, the sinners threw themselves upon him. The woman dragged down on his left side, and it hissed down at her even as the hollow’s arsenal drug deeply into her body. Still, it saw the screaming passion of the prideful warrior, and it sneered once more.

The trident snapped forward, the man blind in his charge to the incoming danger until it was too late...

Too late...

Sin Eater’s eyes widened slightly as something impacted against the spear before it could pierce the hide of the warrior. Energy once unseen, a presence yet unfelt. Even with its three visages, the sight was lost to him as the warrior carried through heedlessly. One, two, three strikes shook his frame, his shrouded body spewing frothy pitch with every dangerous blow.

As the final blow struck home, his gargantuan form was staggered back, the woman falling free with two fresh wounds decorating her scarred frame. Placing a skeletal hand to one of the wounds, a sibilant hiss sounded through the forest in another dreadful echo.

“Quincy.”

Dark blue hakama was spotted with crimson, the wheezing coughs of the man’s dying breaths brought to bear as Zakeriah took in his form, his clouded mind shifting and turning with a startling manner of clarity at the selfless display. Darkened hair splayed about his prone form, his hand feebly gripping one of the punctures the trident had inflicted.

His voice, accented and booming even with his grievous wounds, seeped through his clenched teeth. “You...told us...to hold back. Yet...we are...warriors...are we not?”

He coughed with a wet, hacking sound that could only tell of the havoc wreaked, but his eyes never once dimmed as he locked his gaze on Zakeriah’s. “We are...a proud...family...as are...yours. This...must be...a victory...not...a defeat...Leviticus...”

Heaving in a last few breaths, the man laid back, and became still.

[ 321 / 2850 ]

Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he saw the hollows attack being interrupted by an unusual power.

The Quincy managed to save Zakeriah and Amaya, before he collapsed. Mitsuhito himself wanted to do something, but he was just too lazy.

Lying on the ground like a dead corpse, he closed his eyes once more, and began to wander off into the world of dreams.

[65/1032]

meeeh
Short turn is short^^'. Mitsu is at around 3000 Reiatsu, in his shikai state, so his reiatsu pool is nearing its end as well. Probably writing a short dream turn after this in which he will awake again.

Zakeriah was not certain what had just transpired, had the Sin Eater not staggered from the ferocity of the Quincy's assault the Templar would have assumed the man in blue was an illusion manufactured by the hollow but this was something far to visceral, even with his power to break through such manipulation diluted Zak could tell that this was real and with that reality was a moment of clarity, not only from the magic that warped his thought but of his own rage that that sought to overwhelm him in its ecstasy.

The Quincy had been completely mad, believing Zak to be someone else entirely. Whoever this 'Leviticus' was Zak did not know. The Templar had won the battle and in his victory given the man a respectable death. Was this reappearance proof of the idea that everything they were experiencing was nothing more than a convoluted illusion?

The Quincy was from a proud family as was this person he believed Zakeriah to be, now he lay dead at the shinigami's feet. Why did Zak wish to kill this Sin Eater other than the fact it was here? The Black Wolf looked at the great Sin Eater, he was reaching the limits of his ability to maintain his bankai and while he did not release it he did do something that he normally would not while this far under it's influence...he spoke.

"You are infecting us with sin because it is your strength. You feed off of the very thing you invest upon us. Pride, Lust, Sloth...Greed. I no longer want anything of you Hollow. Go, go off and die alone. If you insist upon this action I will face you still, but no longer with avarice, pride, or even desire. I will do it simply because I must."

[300/3150]

The female warrior stopped for a second, she could feel the slithering grasp inside of her loosen its grip slightly. The fire in her mind waned, and in its place came a realization of the losses she, and the group had taken. Her wounds were burning, itching for healing, begging her to stop and heal, telling her even if she wanted to keep going, her body couldn't keep up for too much longer. She saw Igasho's body on the ground, blood seeping out around him, and the charred corpse of another shinigami further away from them. She saw the Vice Captain pinned beneath the hollow, a breath away from his own grim fate.

But the lust still sang to her, it wanted more... it was insatiable. She wanted the pangs of her wounds as she fought, she wanted the tearing of fresh holes opening in her body. She wanted to keep fighting, she wanted to tear the hollow apart, and she wanted to scream as she ripped its body into tiny pieces.

Her hand tightened around the ever growing blade of Gluttony, and with reluctance she sheathed Lust, and took a short step to retrieve Wrath. She was ready to fight again... she wanted to fight again...

...but for now she gave Zak his chance to talk, so when they attacked this beast, they would do it together, as Templar.

[231/1428]

A dry rustle was the only hint of the raspy cackling Sin Eater gave in response. Its three mouths echoed in the stifling forest, before dying just as quickly. Calmly meeting the gaze of the one the Quincy had protected, it raised the trident sharply before bringing it down, crushing the skull of the traitor in a single well-placed blow.

Its voice started as a whisper, growing with the reverberating sounds of the world around them. “Temperance upon indulgence, yet you’ve not glimpsed the truth. The soul is a mirror, and in yours...I find myself. Sins of the fallen, fidelity of the chosen, I have tasted your sins...

“Let me show you mine.”

The familiar crackling aura of Cero ignited in his presence, its three maws coalescing their powers into one as its beady eyes were set alight by its own energy. The pressure intensified, and in a moment the red-black beam was unleashed.

Crackling trees and groaning logs, burning in their place as it ceased to be mere attack, and became personification yet again. Time ceased, breaths held, and heaven and earth shook with the effort.

Then, it was upon Amaya.

[ 193 / 3043 ]

Amaya had seen cero before. She had seen the speed at which Esqueleto's had mutilated Tsubaki and Tetsuo, she had dodged the cero flung at her by the Arrancar she had fought in Hueco Mundo, and then again with the one she fought with Thaleia. And for an instant she felt a burning in her pride that this hollow would attack her with one that took so long to charge. She wanted to stand and face it with Pride, to let it sizzle into her own flames. But there was no reason, she had seen what it had done to the other shingami, and the forest for that matter. There was no need to take the risk her flames weren't strong enough.

She just had to wait until the beam was formed...

and...

As the flash of red lanced toward Amaya, she disappeared into a shunpo, moving directly to the right to assure she would be no where near the immense beam of energy. Her body had begged for her to move closer, to mount an assault, but she knew with that power it was better to be safe. As the Third Seat saw the devastation it left in its wake, she realized just how lucky the haze of red lust had lifted long enough for her to make the decision she had made.
