Well this may come as a surprise to no one but I'd be up for lots of political machinations/intrigue as overall plot points worthy of exploring. I would also like to do more writing that is character-driven and perhaps try some alternate approaches to chapters. I started doing a little of it back in HD days but I'd like to do more. Perhaps it'd be interesting to have a world-spanning conflict as well?
Stories I like to write. Hmm, it could be anything, really. What I like to do is try many different styles and genres, though I always tend to put in a healthy dose of slice-of-life since that's what I enjoy the most. I like writing about what the characters would do when they are doing nothing. I find it fun to imagine everyday life in a fantastical world since it has the potential to be really different from normal life. Within PT, that would mean a Cheers-like sitcom situation! It's pretty much mulling about with characters.
What I think would be fun is something like, well, mini-campaigns is what I'm calling them. Like quests for a small group of people with an NPC-controller moving things along so the players don't know what's going to happen. Maybe some non-combat based things, too, like getting through a crazy person's abandoned mansion filled with puzzles and traps to find loot.
As for themes? Nope. I have no themes. That's one of the things I pretty much don't consider, what is the larger message people should take away from the work.
My writing is heroic fantasy type stuff. Protagonists that become the things of legends, for better or worse. I don't write them well, but it's what I'm interested in. Aside from that, my writing for PT is semi-serious. More for funzies than anything where I'm allowed to try different things and make mistakes.
I said it in chat but I'll say it again here before I forget. I'd like to see more about the details of the supposed attempt of the minority to get excessive control and privilege through the failed contract that Magister Eximium was supposed to sign. Was a small sect from the Arcanum really trying to gain political control over the world? What policies were they pushing for? How would this affect disenfranchised groups such as the demvir and spurii?
I'd also be interested in exploring the nature of the social, legal, and political hardships spurii and demvir face as well as the social dynamic between these groups and pure-bloods. Is it like modern day racism, classism, and sexism? Are there differences? Do people still try to enslave demvir? How much do these limitations push spurii and demvir towards illicit careers?
Anyway I've got a loooot of questions and hopefully more writing can be done to start answering some of them.
While I'm not averse to combat-oriented writing, or even super descriptive writing, my forte has always been in writing stories that center around characters, their relationships with people, their backstories and the way they view the world as a whole.
I love those immersive moments, and wish I could get more of that.
I guess I better put my two cents in before I forget.
I like writing stories about the relationships between people, and though I know I don't do an amazing job of it, their own thoughts amidst their everyday lives, stories where people find family in unfamiliar places, and stories of redemption and cheesy happy endings. Granted, heroic tales of men and women assassinating corrupt politicians, and raising, or tearing down a kingdom or saving the life of an orphan in the middle of a gang war get me going too, but I'm still practicing. The first plot mission has been getting at me a lot too, what happens if the world does have to deal with the ANO as a serious threat/wave of change? Is there really a coalition working behind the scenes to mold the minds or the world, or is it all just some paranoid conspiracy theorist's wet dream?
I'd really like to see expansion in the scope of PT's world or mystery and magic. The moons have really got me interested, what happens if visitors from other planets appeared in Arevis? or other worlds entirely thorough multiverse theory type things, world-wide conflicts interest me a lot, and it makes me curious to think of the possibilities in the kind of sci-fi fantasy world we've all created here.
Late entry, but I am extremely interested in the Idols of Senes.
I'm going to go ahead and guess it's part of an overarching plot of PT that has yet to even begin but, ever since I read that in the codex, it's pretty much my main goal to build a ship and get there.
Other than that, I mean, PT feels like a blank canvas with a deep gold mine underneath it. I've never had much of an issue with finding things I want to write about, but having something like this where there's an abundance of things to create, to flesh out, to explore---other than the Idols, there's no one thing to get locked into. There's a lot in PT that I want to explore.
I like Finny's idea of a group effort, and I really like Moony's idea of getting into the political realm and relations between the powerful organizations in the world, both clandestine and not.
