Ignoring Hikaru’s bold line of questioning, Kago chose to address the apology offered by the girl referred to as Tia. “It is quite alright. I am sure that my appearance drew quite more attention than I had initially hoped,” he explained vaguely.
Based on the few moments of interaction he had observed from the group, the orange eyed teen seemed impatient and foolhardy. The nobleman would not be surprised to hear him pushing the limits of ‘proper’ and press him further for information regarding his identity. In fact, the former tactician nearly hoped it would come sooner rather than later; after all, he expected more out of the members of the eighth division than the rest of the Gotei.
The rest, however, he had yet to figure out. Clearly, Adelaide was the most senior member of the family; however, Tia was exerting a more ‘older-sister’ vibe at the moment. The youngest one, referred to as Adele, appeared more catlike and than human to Kago and her perky purple ears pulled in more attention than he cared to admit. Although intrigued by the strange anomaly, he knew better than to bring it up in conversation, especially in front of the Briton.
Diverting his eyes to the last of the unfamiliars, the captain took in the form of Ren and felt a sort of connection with the girl. Part of it, he assumed, was due to her strikingly similar appearance to his wife Sophia; carefully speculating on the remainder, he wondered if it was due to her meek and warm welcome she offered. Delicate as she seemed, he noticed a hidden strength to her silence and decided to study her further.
“Ren, was it?” Kago inquired, even though he was sure of her name. “Adelaide-taichou said that you were a member of the Mystics. If you do not mind me posing this question in front of your superior, would you care to share your experience under her lead? I am always intrigued to hear outside opinions of those who have studied under the guidance of great leaders, such as Takimoto Kago.”
Diverting his glance to the Mystic captain for the briefest of moments, he winked at her and quickly returned his attention to Ren.
