As the gorge croaked and moaned as it shaped and molded into its strange new form, Lilith’s energy flowed simultaneously, rising to her face as the decorated tattoo became encapsulated in a bright orchid glow. She looked to Haresuno, sharing a momentary glance of perfect understanding.
Then like a dam unleashed, her reiatsu burst out in a torrent of energy. The draping sleeves of the woman on the battlefield lashed and flared like violent whips, escalating more and more onto the pinnacles of her ability until…
“Ban… Kai..!!!”
There wasn’t a beat missed as Haresuno fell in tandem with Lilith’s release. Together, the pair flashed closer to their target. The very second Sayis was in clear view, the Adept flicked his hand out, calling, “Daishou,” and letting the kidou run its course.
“Homurahana.”
A black arrow dropped beneath the Soutaichou’s feet.
And ebon-red petals clung delicately to his robe.
The kidou hurled him sideways into one of the maze corridors and into a wall where one of Haresuno’s many traps lay.
A series of wires were strung up like a net down this particular way, and when Sayis flew down it, unable to maneuver away, he snapped the wires and collapsed parts of the walls. Had he been walking, they would have fallen on him, but his safety lay in speed, as well as his despair.
At the end of Daishou, when Sayis was finally able to touch ground, a path of rubble lay behind him, and a solid wall ahead.
Then came the earth shifting, and a hole opened up under the champion, throwing him into its hungry maw.
Inside the canyon, more and more petals lined the surfaces, decorating the floor and walls like a darkly romantic bed of roses.
A woman’s voice beckoned up from above, calling the Soutaichou softly. Her voice was empty of decorous etiquette or formal designation, but instead, she spoke with the candid familiarity of an intimate companion.
“Sayis… What are you doing down there?”
And then rang the sound of fingers snapping… as a tower of flames blazed all around the Arcane king.
