[PM][AH/Open] Week ---: Tick, Tick, BOOM!

For starters, they're unbelievably fast... the scrawny man shuffled his shaggy ebony hair and looked at all of them. It seemed like they were jumping from one building to another in quick succession. He wasn't afraid -- actually, he was quite amused. A gentle smirk swept across his lips however, when one of them pointed towards his little black bird.

Concentrating on the crow, he made it rise up higher in the air and fly around in circles. This area ... it seems near, he thought to himself as he took a quick eye view of the place, along with his pursuers.

[ 117 | 1111 ]

Something wasn’t right, that itchy feeling just gnawed caution at the back of Ayako’s mind. One of the closer reiatsu signatures felt... wrong. Like it was a loose façade meant to detract from the real person behind it. For certain the feeling was there and anyone with eyes might have relied on this sense less so than normal. Perhaps that was why it felt so wrong now that she had to rely on her other senses. The ginger haired agent made her way cautiously towards the base of the building at which the feeling sat, after keeping track of her position mentally she knew it was a small office building that overlooked much of the area.

Slipping into the alleyway she drew her knife vest out of the drab black bag, quickly hiding the massive knives from sight under her jacket and leaving the bag behind. This she did under an awning beneath the building, but out of sight of civilians. Rather than continuing in one line she doubled back on herself and lined up a concrete pillar of the offices. In one sudden burst of speed the former dancer literally ran up the side of the building towards the top. When she closed within ten meters of the top of the building, and closer to the foreign feeling, she released a single pulse of amber flames that washed over and through the structure.

Immediately Ayako knew there was a Janitor inside the office complex doing rounds, pushing his dirty yellow mop bucket along a hallway. She knew there was a single worker on the floor below typing feverishly to avoid some deadline only he knew. More so, she became aware of the copper haired man that sat at the top of the building, peering down towards the school and where she should have reappeared. With a commanding tone she called towards him, "Stay right there, you’re under arrest!”

[319/1303]

He saw the woman enter the building, and he very well anticipated her appearance. The copper haired man fiddled with the small remote control and pressed a button, in which a maya bird came flying towards him. Actually, he expected a life and death situation here, but just to be sure, he threw the remote control far, far away. Without a remote, no one would be able to operate the little bird in his hands. Not that they would see it again, in the first place.

He ripped the bird's faux skin open, revealing the robotic bird inside. Without further ado, he threw the bunch of feathers away from the building and threw the robotic bird nearby. The scrawny man gingerly reached for his gun -- and shot the metallic bird, smashing it to bits and pieces. Should he fail, the least he could do was not to put everyone in deeper shit by letting the others take ahold of his information device.

A voice rose behind him, and a smirk crept across his lips. Just in time...

"Over my dead body, bitch," Mukaze hissed, his pitch-black eyes slowly turning to a cool shade of blue. "Who are you anyway?"

Why do they all have to have guns? by her best guess the firearm wasn’t anything special, but that was no excuse to ignore it. The star shaped scar on her stomach was a grim reminder of that. Without her sight, Ayako had relinquished her own firearms to avoid stray rounds. Now she wished she had them back. Instead she threw off her jacket in one movement, exposing her knives and the irezumi on either shoulder.

No sooner did her jacket hit the roof than the redhead called up her latest bag of tricks. The fox was long ago dissipated, but on her other shoulder rested a flock of ravens that all at once broke free into the air, filling the air with thick clouds akin to a smoke grenade. To amplify the effect and make the cloud appear much larger the lieutenant dashed forward and to the left so that the cloud enveloped the stranger with copper hair faster yet. Still she knew exactly where he was thanks in part to her amber flames that lingered in the air. The sixteen inch combat knives were in either hand as she closed the gap, hoping to catch him unaware.

Shit. Just what in the world is this?! he looked around, his azure eyes in a desperate search for anything. In fact, the fog (or mist, whatever it was) stung his eyes, and he could barely keep his eyes open. It was a formidable trick for someone who was barely armed with any. Okay, he had a gun. But he didn't know where to aim it. In every direction, it looked the same -- the same fog covered his eyes.

He tried to run, but it was terribly hopeless. If there was anything he could do within this predicament, it was either to throw the ball away, or commit suicide. His mind raced -- he knew that he didn't have much time.

With his free hand, he reached for his pocket and threw the black marble far away -- over to his right side (although he was quite unsure whether something, or someone was actually there). That is, if the opponent was discerning his location through that object, he found it best to take it away from him. At least, until the fog dissipates, he could buy time to decide on his next move... or at least get a sight of the woman so that he can use his freaking gun.

[ 211 | 1522 ]

As the marble bounced towards her she paused for a half heartbeat of sudden realization. The oddity she had felt before was…in that? She couldn’t feel any sort of presence from the man himself. He was no more a threat than a cold at this point. Reaching into her vest for handcuffs, she was behind him in a split second.

The gun was wrenched out of his grip as she grabbed his hand that held it and bent it forcibly to open his fingers, that was the first hand locked in steel. His other hand was pulled easily behind his back and joined into the manacles. Her foot applied light pressure on his knee with no warning, enough to bend straight away without breaking anything as she was liable to do with her full strength.

Even as the cloud faded away the man was helpless and prone, face down on the roof. For proper measure she had one last set of cuffs, with which she locked the cuffs onto a nearby air conditioner mount. Then she moved back to her jacket and cane, picking both up and finding her way sightlessly across the roof back to her captive. Kneeling in front of the odd man she patted him down wordlessly with eyes closed. Finding nothing but more ammo for his firearm she asked in an unbending tone, “Who are you working for little man? Work with me or you’ll be going away for a very long time.”

note
Sorry for rushing this part, but I'm guessing we need to finish this fast. Orange text guy is down, you guys got green.

"Not telling," the scrawny man spat at the woman in front of her, who was obviously way out of his caliber. First, she had those shenanigans, then the impossibly fast speed. She was like them -- the people whom he works with. Unfortunately though, he isn't even in the brink of their power. He was merely a pawn. He hated being pushed around, he hated being the weakest, he hated being so helpless -- at least, if he couldn't do his task well, there's only one solution out of it. That is, to end it. And that all ends -- now. He intends to, at least.

"Just 'cause I remember telling you," he spoke in a rather strained tone, and reached for something tucked in his belt, "Over. My. Dead. Body." He inserted his bony finger on a small loop, and flashed a rather malicious grin at the woman. Despite his wrists being restrained by the cold metal, at least his fingers weren't -- and he could move it well enough so as to pull that small metal loop out of its binding. There was a slight click, and he was quite sure that the woman heard it.

"And I do keep my promises," he flashed a grin towards her, and no more words came out. Nothing but a laugh. At least, if he were to die, he would die laughing. This thing on his body -- it was made for this kind of emergency situation -- when he felt like he can't do anything else but to settle on his last resort.

Well, shit. If you don't want to run, you might as well join me in hell. I might even want harems in the afterlife, he thought with a little jest as he looked at the woman in the eye.

Soon, the contraption in his back exploded, and he was engulfed with a swirly haze of dancing flames, with colorful blasts of explosions rising up to the air -- much like fireworks. In fact, it was designed to be like one, only that its color pattern was designed to be a distinct one.

The scrawny man heard the explosions from where she stood, and since he was incapable of seeing it with his own eyes, he fiddled with the small buttons on his remote control so that the crow could retrieve the visual information and make him see it. There, on the distance, was a distinct pattern of colors paired in twos. Green and red, orange and green, purple and yellow, blue and white... those pairings, he simply knew.

It's time.

The man focused his full attention to the three moppets within his own line of view, and grinned as they made their way to his direction. It's showtime.

Yup yup, consider him dead. Soooooooo, one down~

Without waiting for an answer from the others and ignoring the sudden flares of reiatsu from Ayako and someone else in the distance, Ewan instead shrugged and took a step or two forward, determined not to look at the bird. However, he chanced a quick glance at it. It hadn’t moved, simply flapping madly to stay in place.

Hmm, might just be my imagination. Maybe it spotted something down here near to us. Ewan frowned and turned away from the bird before hopping to the next building. Suddenly he felt another flare nearby

"Well, that’s new,” he muttered, "could this be...?”

[101/1,037]

The sudden flares of energy made Heru nervous and relieved. He was nervous as it seemed that this wouldn’t be a simple, quick mission. On the other hand he was relieved that he picked the team that had yet to see any enemies. He wasn’t experienced enough to know what was going on with the teacher. For all he knew she was getting destroyed, which would make sense since she was blind. Although anyone who would hit a blind woman has some personal issues to work out.

Heru shook himself from his thoughts and stared up at the bird flying above. It did seem odd that it did not move and just kept following them. Heru reached down and scooped up some concrete from the roof below. Making sure Ewan was not looking, as Heru feared being reprimanded by the other boy for giving away their position or something that, he hurled the heavy glob straight at the bird. It did a lazy dodge, but in no way seemed to retreat. Hmm, he wondered, where's a scarecrow when you need one.

“Son of a bitch,” the redhead swore. After the explosion was a rather sickening crack as Ayako had went to dive behind a concrete partition. Taking a minute to check for any broken bones, she found the worst possible outcome. Holding her hands out while she laid on the gravel roof the medic sighed, distraught at the two halves over her white cane barely held together by the interior wire that was to let segments stay together.

What was left of the man was still smoldering in the ruins of the air conditioner, with him one possible lead. To realize then that these people were fanatical to such a degree was startling. If the courier they were hunting were to detonate the explosives as soon as they were cornered then this part of the city was as good as flattened. Reaching into her pocket she produced her cell phone, dialing one number she had memorized.

“This is Agent Kojima, once you have a GPS lock on my location, send a cleanup crew to dispose of a body on the roof of the building,” she spoke quickly. Within seconds she had a response and moved with her pulse towards the stairwell. Near the base of the floor below the roof was the Janitor she had spied before, gaping up at the roof with a broom clutched at his chest.

“Some kids were setting off fireworks, no need for you to worry sir. We’ve got a team on route to clean up the mess. We do ask you stay away from the roof so as not to taint the scene.” She smiled as she produced a fake badge, not that he would know that. Finally she considered his broom and with a flourish produced a wad of money, “I’ll pay you fifteen hundred yen for your broom handle.”

With new makeshift cane in hand and finally on the ground floor Ayako made her way towards the students at a slightly rushed pace.

[330/2079]

Oh? So the other one noticed... but damn it if it actually hit, the scrawny man thought to himself as he examined the boy's features closely, that would have been disastrous.

That blasted woman... she only had a little chance of surviving. Either way, it doesn't look like she'll reunite with her students soon enough... he smirked, a spark of amusement in his eyes, And I hope for the best that they manage to reach me without that woman. I'd like to meet the person who forced that bastard Mukaze into a corner though. But no, not now, his bony hand slipped inside his jacket and made sure that it was there. Of course, he knew that these people were coming for it. And soon.

[ 125 | 2108 ]

Fencing is a good 6ft x 6ft at least :D

Watching the bird dodge Heru’s projectile, Ewan was now a hundred percent certain. That crow was indeed linked to the person they were pursuing. A regular bird would most likely just ignored it then been smashed out of the sky.

"Ok then, let’s see how you like this then.” Ewan walked over to the edge of the building he was stood atop, grabbed the boundary fence and wrenched part of it free, leaving a considerable gap. Quickly looking at the bird he gauged the weight of the segment and grinned.

"Here... we... go!” he yelled as he launched the fencing at the bird.

[103/1,140]

Was waiting for Froggu and Mack to post but .... ;~;

Damn it! the scrawny man cussed as the human actually threw the damned object at the little bird. Instead of flying upwards, the crow squawked and fled away from the incoming attack. With a burst of speed, it fled horizontally ahead. Actually, the defense mechanism wasn't within his control, but if he lets it loose, who knows where it'll land?

Just to make sure, he fiddled with the small remote control and landed the little bird on the brink of a building. After all that strain on its wings, it wouldn't be able to follow the students for a while.

Tsk. They should be nearby anyway...

[ 106 | 2214 ]

The bird had avoided it with an unnatural burst of speed. Ewan frowned.

Well that was odd indeed, he thought, straining his eyes to see where the crow went in the darkness, who knew crows were so fast? Maybe the controller was nearby. He smiled and looked around, just as the moon disappeared behind a cloud. If it went that way, maybe the guy controlling it was over there as well. He leapt over to another building and scanned the area for anything of note: lights, sounds, movement even.

"This is getting stupid,” the green-eyed youth muttered, "maybe I should just check for anyone like us.” Closing his eyes, Ewan focused. He still wasn’t very good at the detecting half of the aura-thing. Releasing it was easy, checking who else was doing it was less so.

After a moment in which he’d located those around him: Ayako, Heru, Rad plus some other familiar people moving about the city also, he found someone unfamiliar nearby.

"Is that him?” Ewan looked toward the location of the signal and sighed, "No harm in trying.” He bounced over to the building and looked down at where the person seemed to be located. He quickly covered his skin with his organic metal, just in case.

"Hey you! I’d like a word with you!”

[218/1,358]

And so he came, that little boy who first noticed his beloved bird, and that same boy who incapacitated him from overlooking the two other men. His suspicions were right -- they were nearby. The scrawny man stopped using the little bird, and faced the young man. Soon, the pitch black hue that dominated his eyes dissipated, revealing his dull emerald eyes.

"What? You're disturbing me from my sightseeing, so better make it quick!" he growled at the human, as if he wasn't watching him.

[ 85 | 2299 ]

Ewan frowned at the man’s response. Even if this guy hadn’t been watching them in particular, what he meant by ‘sightseeing’ the Welshman didn’t want to know.

"Well, there’s no need to be so hostile, I asked nicely... nearly.” The youth dropped down to the ledge where the man was perched and looked southward, to roughly where the school was located.

"Let’s just say I’m looking for a suspicious man in the area and you fit the bill quite nicely. Forget it; I’ll get to the point. Tokyo Nishi Koutougakkou, ring any bells?” In an instant Ewan was right beside the man, a newly formed blade-arm pointing at him.

[109/1,467]

"Oh sure. If you're talking about that damned school, who the hell wouldn't?" he spoke, an odd grin plastered on his face. He had been watching that school for a while now, and it was simply impossible not to know.

"What about Tokyo Nishi Koutougakkou?" he inquired as his emerald eyes stared stone-cold on the creature with a blade. Seriously, these showy children and all they learn on the freaking internet.

He raised an eyebrow, his emerald orbs fixed on the man as he dashed forward in an almost blinding speed. "And you were saying, I was the hostile one? Look at yourself, kid," the scrawny man smirked at the student, with amusement in his eyes.

[ 116 | 2415 ]

"Fine I’ll be frank with you. One, there’s a set of bombs under aforementioned school. Two, the detonator is supposedly here in northern Tokyo. Three, sorry to sound presumptuous but a guy stood on a ledge near the top of a building near midnight seems rather suspicious to me. Ergo, I think you have something to do with it. Plus you said ‘blasted school’, which most likely means you’re not exactly keen on the place.” Ewan paused for breath, not expecting to have talked for so long so quickly.

"So, in a nutshell: you are suspicious and chances are you’ve something to do with all this.” Without waiting for a reply, Ewan shoved the blade forward towards the man’s face.

[120/1,587]

"Do I really match your criteria? How superficial of you, kid. There are many gorgeous women up and about around this time of the night," he raised an eyebrow and merely stared at the kid in front of him.

"But then again, I wouldn't hesitate to defend myself if case you don't believe me. It's not my problem anymore," he jumped back and smirked at the boy. Within moments, two starburst-shaped shields appeared in his hands, its shiny steel surface reflecting the light of the full moon overhead.

"Oh, and for the record, I said damned, not blasted," his emerald eyes sparkled with amusement as he glared at the young man in front of him, his body itching for a little action.

[ 122 | 2537 ]

“Ooh, very nice,” Ewan said, eyeing the man’s shields as his blade smashed into it and slid upwards. Ewan’s own momentum took him into the man or more accurately into the shields. The Welsh youth looked over the shield at the man’s face.

Hmm, maybe a different... method is needed here. In the space of two blinks he looked down then back up. Swiftly backing away a few inches he knelt down and slammed his non-bladed fist into the ledge, smashing it and sending both men falling to the ground below.
