[PM][C/1st/3rd/4th/5th/10th/12th] Week 241: Red-Letter Day

Status
Not open for further replies.
The orbs of Ekigaku were as virulent as they were when created. The sudden appearance of the shield slowed Issei’s movement, changing his original path. The first sphere flew past his head, slamming into the chamber wall, eating threw the hardened material with ease. At the same moment, Vincent’s bakudou pulled Kousei violently forward, safely away from the path of the second sphere. A crack emanated from the nobleman’s hand, as his shoulder was stressed from the pull.

Kousei slammed his blade directly into the ground, the zanpaktou piercing easily through the thick stone. Sparks flew once more as the metal was pulled against the hallowed ground of the chamber. He ducked low, using his superior size to his advantage. He grabbed his blade with his opposite hand, exchanging the blade away from the binding kidou.

Tapping into his skill with his blade, his body rotated violently as he launched a powerful attack in the area around him. The katana slashed towards Vincent’s torso, as he was quickly spun around due to the connecting kidou. Focusing his energy, he broke the bakudou with his will, pain searing through his body. The shattered bakudou broke the link between Kousei and Vincent as physics took hold, flinging the former Arcanist towards Gorou.

Samael remained quiet, his focus completely diverted towards the Founder and the scythe-wielding Mystic. He dug his feet into the ground, as he fought against the pushing motion of shou. As Atlas was created in above him, he rolled forward quickly, the pressurized air slamming into the ground. “You aren’t going to get anywhere if you keep trying to throw me away imposter. I am a trained member of the Gotei and a Faust lord! It’ll take more than a single hadou and bakudou to defeat me!”

“Kansenkeiro, Ekigaku!” he shouted, as the liquid on the blade disappeared. A large sphere appeared directly above Haresuno and Adelaide. The teal cloud began to rotate violently, as dozens of smaller spheres rained down in a cone above them.

Oh boy. Things were really starting to heat up now.

Hotate ducked behind the second row of the circular desks. She couldn't see exactly what was going on but she could hear it. And it sounded bad. Well, the hornet's nest was already stirred. There was no need to go poking at it some more. The green haired girl remained hidden but was ever watchful for and signs of activity heading towards her general vicinity.

[249]

“Vin-kun!” Adelaide shouted over the din of combat, “Next time I try to save you, please don’t save the bad guys!”

A sword danced and sang in the air as she turned to face Vincent. Adelaide wasn’t fond of this distraction from her comments, and with a flash of red from the markings on her weapon, a second kidou imprinted on its blade. “How rude!” she screamed, bringing the scythe to bear against the spin-strike. She couldn’t overcome his sword-skills; he clearly had the edge there. But Adelaide had fought better swordsmen than her before. She didn’t play to win; she just wanted to make contact.

Sparks flew as steel met steel. “I was talking.” And then came the ungodly roar of power and terror. Sulfur filled the air around Adelaide and Kousei. A light shone between the two blades a moment before slamming its kinetic force into the ancient Shinigami. Worse, more terrifying, was the screeching terror of blue light that shot from the scythe along its path, through the now-dissolved shield of energy and right at the swordsman Adelaide’s weapon had sent flying.

She completed her turn and saw the acidic nightmare forming above herself and Hare, who she managed to be standing even closer to than she had been before. “Aw, hell,” she remarked as the joy from her very useful kidou strike faded from her face. She knew she wouldn’t be able to Soshi this strike. She had called it. Damn. “I hate being right all the time.”

Hellfire
Hellfire
A purely Hadou-enhancing ability, Hellfire allows the casting of Hadou at an additional 1.5 times Reiatsu and Kidou cost for a corresponding 50% boost in spellcasting area, power and/or duration. If used with the chromatic fire Hadou or actual Fire-based Hadou, the cost is two times and enhancement is increased to a full 100% power boost. In addition, Hellfire adds a cosmetic effect: the area both around Lashiel and around the target smell strongly of sulfur.

Tangent
Bakudou #32, 320 Kidou
Description: One of the fastest working barrier spells around, it is a speedy and relatively easy going counter. Chanting the short incantation, an instantaneous burst of energy flares in front of the user, lasting only for a split second. Only capable of blocking strikes at the user's own strength or lower, it is still very useful. If any physical contact with the Tangent barrier is made, the opponent will be knocked off his/her feet, sent flying backwards roughly 20 feet, though not hurt. All the combined effects of this spell happens in less than a second from the completion of the incantation, making it light but hard to evade.

Soukatsui
Hadou #33, 375 Kidou
Description: Projects a flat projectile of Kidou that bears down on a target and violently explodes upon contact.

Pain and blood spurted as Gorou was forced back, made worse by the child colliding with him. With all his might he pushed his body forward to soften the blow. He managed to stay standing, and took but one moment to stare down the boy that had been tossed at him. Every bone in his body burned with the demand that he do the unthinkable.

Stay out of my way,” he bellowed and immediately plunged back towards the battle. That he had wrested enough control of himself to focus on attacking the strange assailants might have been a sign that his mind was more than a roiling mass of bloodlust and anger, but he’d come dangerously close to buckling to those instincts.

Much as it hurt to keep abusing his shoulder, the ancient ronin took Gunshin in both hands and pushed himself into a flash step for momentum. He reappeared in front of and charging towards Kousei ,if only because he saw Kousei first after recovering. The naginata struck upwards from the right side, allowing him to put most of the weight and force on his good arm, though his injured left arm wasn’t doing his technique or swinging power any favors.

Adelaide had jumped in to save Hare from taking a hit, now it was his turn to return the favor.

Discarding the broken knife used to stop Kousei, Haresuno’s grabbed the collar of Adelaide’s uniform and yanked her back. “Damn,” he hissed. Pushing backwards, the captain infused his step with power and the two shinigami disappeared.

But it wasn’t enough to escape the frightful attack which Samuel had unleashed. It rained down over the two of them, as well as Issei and Sekka, eating through clothing and into their flesh.

With reiatsu infused in his body, hardening it against the corrosive water as he jumped away, Haresuno’s worries for the others grew.

An enemy who could rain acid seemed to care very little about damages to an area or those in it. That only added to his strength which was already monstrous.

He needed a plan.

Coming out of the shunpo, away from the rain and Issei, he dropped the Mystic. Growling, against the pain, against all the frustration and oncoming hopelessness which he felt, Haresuno rolled his hand through the air while declaring, “Sekienten!” Red smoke rose up around the shinigami, and the last thing anyone could see of the two were their vague silhouettes disappearing into the mist.

Vincent stared sullenly, first at Adelaide, then at Gorou. It's not like any of this was his fault. How was he supposed to know the redhead could divert the Faust's acid attack, let alone that she had. He was a little too busy trying not to get cut in half. Sure he had inadvertently helped both men out, one more directly than the other, but he wasn't trying to save the men. Well, he didn't really want to see them dead, ghosts of the past or not, but he would still much rather survive.

And the samurai... The guardian had no idea who he was, what division he was in, his rank, anything really. But he had no right to yell at Vincent. It wasn't like he had intentionally launched himself into the man. Who would want to fly ten feet into a bloody, crazy, half dead lunatic, anyway?

Pulling himself up off the floor of the central chamber, the boy decided it would be best to hold off on his chastising for after the battle at hand. If there was an after. In hopes of that, Vincent launched himself into a flash step, stopping just in front of Issei. "That hurt!" he announced, still feeling the throb in his bleeding shoulder. "Hadou number eight, Static Blast!"

The small bolts of energy shot out from his fingers at point-blank. Before they could even make contact, he was beginning his next incantation. "Break the dragon's jaw, little firestar. Hadou number thirty, Big Bang!" With a sharp flick, the small globe of energy propelled toward the man's feet.

[273/889]

Sekka herself began to run some steps away from the big orb in the air. It was her luck, that the orb was not directed at her, because she knew she would have been too slow to dodge the think without taking damage. However, she was at the corner of the attack and managed to get away unharmed.

Using a set of two nearby banners, she threw them at Samael using Soshi once more, to distract him before chanting a spell aimed at the Faust lord.

“Spinner of fate, unwind and cast yourself. Bakudou number four, Hainawa.”

.:: Soshi ::.
(Elements)

Soshi refers to the purest elements of the spiritual realm that culminate into telekinesis -- the most basic, fundamental ability required of a shinigami to become a Mystic. A shinigami's journey in the Tenth begins with a keen awareness of the universe and an exceptional talent in reiatsu manipulation. The Mystic must be able to harness their spiritual energy and apply it in anomalous ways to the physical world.

With Soshi, the Mystic learns to move objects with their mind. Its range of effect is within a 15-meter radius. The strength of Soshi is directly related to 1/10th of the user's reiatsu in pounds, capping at 2,000 lbs. It costs the Mystic 1% reiatsu to perform this ability per turn. The reiatsu of others acts as a repellent to this ability, therefore, at no point can Soshi be used to levitate other spiritual creatures or people.

Hainawa (Crawling Rope) - Bakudou #4, 25 Kidou
Description
: A rope of kidou energy extends up to 10 feet from the user's hand, wrapping around the opponent's limbs or body.

Incantation: Spinner of fate, unwind and cast yourself. Bakudou #4, Hainawa.

With a swift motion, Samael easily cut through the now-tattered banners in front of him. As binding kidou wove its way around his sword arm, as he attempted to bend his newly bound arm. A sudden explosion from Big Bang caught his attention, as Issei was thrown back from the sheer shockwave of the kidou. Kousei drew his blade up, his blade meeting the new naginata. The wounded soldier had a weakened stance, something that was easy to abuse with a slight adaptation. He contorted his body, attempting to shift all his weight to the left side of the samurai’s body.

The forty-five judges hissed from their stands, blocking their eyes as the mist seeped into their mouths and nose. Shouts of traitors, insolence, and murderers, we shot between fits of coughing. The head judge coughed, but strained a message through his voice, “Samael! Enough with this playing around! Get rid of these fools!”

“Tenran!” shouted Issei, as he got up from the floor once more. The air-kidou burst forth from his hands, easily shifting the cloud away from the battle-field. He moved the column of air so that it was fully aimed at Vincent who was still close by.

“Are you all not shinigami? Did you not take an oath to protect these judges? You have interrupted a day that comes once in lifetimes,” barked Samael, “Look towards the man that you are attempting to kill. Look towards the man that will soon sit among the wisest men and women! It will take more than you all to stop Issei Kikuchi’s ascension. And with you power, you will never even touch our high judge.”

He launched forward in a shunpo, appearing directly in front of Adelaide. A tumultuous swing of his blade slammed down. It carried a force with a blade that few men or women could ever hope to match. The trail of Ekigaku followed, raining a splatter of poison down on the woman as well.

[1534]

“...sin. Hadou Number Fifty...,”

Glistening steel of acidic venom slammed home into the ground. A straight light clearly driven through the red-head, only, not. The air around Adelaide shimmered like rippling water as her form evaporated into the air.

From the trail of red mist not far from the Faust Lord, Haresuno’s form emerged. His half-opened eyes were red, and the lower part of his face below the bridge of his nose was covered by a black cloth mask that led down to his uniform.

His right hand snapped out and grabbed Samuel’s sword-wrist while his other hand gripped the man’s neck. Leaving the rest of his body exposed to the grove of combatants.

Suddenly, Haresuno had the man half-prostrated.

“Reitouten.” the Gardner finished. Winter’s cold rushing out of him to sweep in through the field of veins of the Faust’s wrist, branching out into his muscles and down to the bone.

“Lord Kikuchi does not interest us,” the noble-esque captain stated ominously. Off to the side, where Haresuno had emerged, Adelaide stood with her hands ready on her scythe. “Now, Pierce! Protect the others!”

Issei’s ascension? The judges had been talking about some ceremony... That sick bastard, Adelaide shared with Haresuno’s mind, they’re honoring someone Fukushin’s going to kill in our time period. The Mystic managed to be less convinced in coincidence than she was before regarding this place. There was probably no use reasoning with these people, but by the same token not much would be lost.

Her eyes burned, but she could see well enough to see Kousei, and with that came another flash of Lashiel’s power against the poor fellow who had so recently eaten a blast of Sokatsui’s hellfire. Her concentration wasn’t there for very long, but it was long enough to imprint the signature of Lashiel’s power upon the poor man. He found himself afflicted with the allure of the Lust Angel.

The Gardener took a hand that was meant to strike down the leader of the Mystics, and Adelaide was thankful for having dodged a Faust-shaped bullet. In focusing on Kousei Adelaide had lost track of the Faust and was unprepared for his attempted attack. It was a random act of kindness she was going to repay. “We’re only defending ourselves!” To illustrate this point Adelaide passed up a golden opportunity to hit the Faust fellow and instead began pouring kidou energy into her weapon as she flash-stepped toward Vincent, using her momentum to knock the little man and herself free of the tornado’s path.

She and Vincent fell to the ground rather forcefully and, quietly, she told the little Arcanist, “And that makes twice.” She had a rather wry smile on her face, trying her hardest to enjoy the moment despite the fact that they were squaring off against an ancient iteration of their own government. It was no small feat to accomplish.

Fallen Allure
Fallen Allure
Lashiel can inflict a group of enemies with what any good seducer would: lust. At the initial cost of 10% Adelaide’s Reiatsu she can inflict any single target within five meters with a powerful... we’ll call it infatuation. The effect varies in strength based on the relative power of her adversary. Those with a Reiatsu more than twice Adelaide’s who are afflicted find it hard to hurt her too badly: they cannot use Kidou or abilities against Adelaide with a higher cost than one-third Adelaide’s Reiatsu. Those with a Reiatsu similar to Adelaide’s have an even harder time, being unable to attack Adelaide consecutively. Lastly, those less than half Adelaide’s strength are so overcome with desire that they are stunned each time they attack Adelaide. Adelaide can, through sheer force of will, extend this effect for up to five turns. At any time, a person may pay Reiatsu equal to Adelaide’s investment to rid themselves of this affliction.

No matter how Gorou grit his teeth and tried to push his body through the wound, he couldn't possibly muster enough strength to overcome Kousei's weighted defense. He grunted in pain as Kousei’s pressure bore down upon him, but he wouldn’t allow for the struggle to last more than a second. Just before he broke off, reiatsu began seeping into his weapon as the energies of the two most explosive Hadou he knew collected within. His expression only became angrier and further filled with violence-born hatred as the battle wore on.

More nerves cried out in disapproval as he tightened his grip on the handle and swept its bladed end up and backward. In doing so, Gunshin’s spiked end was revealed enough that he could thrust it out towards Kousei’s midsection. The maneuver would leave his left arm out as it guided the weapon along its path.

Tech

[Kenkyouka] - "Sword Empowerment"Utilizing their own kidou energy, the practitioner has the ability to cast a kidou spell onto their blade. Once the blade comes in contact with the opponent, the spell will automatically activate. Whatever damage or effects are done by sword and spell, will be unleashed on to the opponent. With continuous use of the technique, the caster will gain the ability to have two spells imprinted on their blade at one time, once the user gains 5k kidou or zanjutsu stat.

Vincent saw the swirling mass of air and pepper gas bearing down on him. He was just about to activate Industria to shield himself from the attack when Adelaide swept him off his feet, literally. The pair landed on the floor of the chamber with a thud as Tenran raged above them.

"I would've been just fine, y'know," Vincent chided, not at all pleased that he had been saved again, and when he wouldn't have needed to be, as well. "I don't owe you for that one," he stated, jumping back up to his feet and pulling the girl with him. The two would be able to work out the details later, since they were still fighting to guarantee there would be a later to make it to. Returning his full attention to Issei. The boy held his right hand out toward the man, the glyphs on his bracers flaring to life with a brilliant golden light. "Bakudou number eight, Sealing rings!"

Three bright, golden rings of energy formed around the future wise man and began to close around him. "Adelaide, subdue him now while he's distracted!"

[192/1,081]

The icy cold grip of the frozen kidou covered his arm. His elbow was locked in an ‘L’ shape, as his earth-rending attack was stopped. “Don’t play games with me imposter,” he spat, before jumping back away from Haresuno, “Now is not the time for you to feign ignorance! Kikuchi is untested! We know about the head judge!”

The bakudou at the same moment surrounded the soon-to-be wise-man. The effects were weak, though potent for a brief moment. With effort he forced his reiatsu outwards, as the rings were instantly broken away. He was winded, but the power of the bypassed binding was too underwhelming to subdue a man of his power.

Simultaneously on the other side of the room, the other shinigami responded towards the wounded soldier’s attack. “You are all weak! You leave a wounded man to attempt to fight me alone? Your stance is tempered by the pain you feel. Your movements blinded, slow!”

“Kousei! Don’t be foolish! Can’t you feel his reiatsu?” shouted Issei, as he disappeared in a flash step towards his old friend.

He arrived next to Gorou, his blade meeting with the Herald’s weapon, as it was pushed from its track by the force. A sickening crack could be heard as his arm was contorted, snapping his collar bone from the sudden force.

However, even though this display, all eyes were turned back towards Samael. A corrosive reiatsu began to pool out, engulfing the entirety of the room. The poisonous liquid collected in front of him, as it began to flow violently around him.

“Bankai! Honpou Ekigaku!”

His sword dissolved, as a teal mist surrounded him. The sheer force bore down on each of the combatants. The oppressive aura increased every second, as the mist thickened as well. With a sound similar to a thunder crack, the mist violently began to contract. It flew violently towards Samael, collecting in the form of an orb the size of his arm. Floating around him, the corrosive liquid began to break down the inorganic near it, slowly growing larger.

“Tokasu, Honpou Ekigaku,” he said in a voice filled with malovent intent. The orb vibrated before beginning to rotate in front of him. Four tentacles appeared from the sphere, flying out at a deadly speed towards Vincent, Haresuno, Adelaide, and Sekka. All inorganic matter dissolved around each of the tentacles, as they headed to turn the shinigami into their next prey.

Gather around my children and let me sing to you the song of my people

K, let me rephrase some stuff. First off, please, don't rant about the 'time-limit' in chat. This is not an end all deal. I'm not going to write someone out if they take 75 hours instead of 72. Hell, I'm not going to write them out if they don't write in like 4 days. I'm playing this by ear. Please don't treat this as if it's his lord's divine judgement as prophecy. What it is, is an incentive for people to stay active.

In return, I want you to give me the same respect. I last wrote a turn on the 25th. I wanted to give Cheese/Mits/Finny time to write their turns. It paid off for me, as cheese wrote one recently. It is the 28th so even with that 'time limit' I am writing on schedule. Sure, I'm not getting them out every 5 minutes, but I have stuff going on in my life too. I'm going to be as busy as hell the next 2 days. But, I'm not abandoning this collab, I'm waiting patiently.

The force of the impact traveled up Gorou’s mangled arm, wrenching and warping it from its place. As his collarbone snapped, part of it turned in suite with his arm and broke through the skin. More of his own blood poured out from the wound and onto his already blood-soaked chest. An ocean of pain went with the broken bone and punctured tissue, and a booming and pain-filled shout followed it.

Adrenaline continued to pump and in spite of the dulling effect it had on the pain, it wasn’t enough. Thoughts became more and more difficult to keep together, but through the unthinkable sea of bloodloss and pain he managed to keep a single train of thought moving forward.

“You can’t...” he coughed up a mouthful of his own blood, “you can’t kill me...” In spite of the pain the reiatsu he’d gathered in Gunshin’s deadly edge still remained. He reaffirmed his grip on the weapon and pulled it up with all his might. A word had surfaced in his mind, one that evoked a samurai’s intention to kill his foe even if it killed him. Beforehand the thought had disgusted him, but just then he understood.

“NONE OF YOU CAN! THE ONLY MAN THAT CAN KILL YOSHINAGA GOROU,” in that close proximity he knew well enough what his kidou could do, “IS YOSHINAGA GOROU!” With one hand the broken samurai thrust the spear upward and brought it inward. As soon as the blade met his own heavily-damaged flesh, a great light flashed outward.

“GYOKUSAI!” By the time he spoke the spells would have already taken effect. A massive comet spawned by the stored spell Houkiboshi being released, and a miniature sphere with the likeness of a small sun spawned by the release of Big Bang both appeared. Not even a second passed before the projectiles met with their target and massively detonated, engulfing the area in a writhing sea of flame.
322[937]

Techniques n such
Houkiboshi (Comet) - Hadou #76, 3200 Kidou

Description: The most powerful striking kidou known to date, Comet works by having the user gather an extremely large amount of kidou into their fist. The energy shoots out like a comet from the fist, but because it is limited to the arm, it can only travel with the appendage. That doesn’t mean that it won’t deal massive damage however, as the attack has enough force to break even some of the most formidable defenses.

Incantation: Crushing star, flesh of man. The eternal sky's journey begins with a spark. Hadou #76, Houkiboshi

Big Bang - Hadou #30, 300 Kidou

Description: Big Bang is used when the user of the kidou forms a small ball of energy no bigger than the size of a baby's fist within their palm. When completely formed, the kidou looks like a miniature sun, but it has no heat to it and it doesn't harm the user. Until it is used, it simply floats off an inch from the user's palm. However, the indiscrete size and small chant belay the kidou's true power. When launched at a target [most people take the habit of launching the kidou with a flick of the thumb], the kidou will explode with the power of a half a pound of dynamite. Its overall power is not only able to punch holes in walls, if used by an expert it can be powerful enough to level small cabins and so fast that most of the time it won't be seen coming. Because of this, the kidou is not only useful for combat situation but for missions where an untraceable diversion is needed.

Incantation: Break the dragon's jaw, little firestar. Hadou #30, Big Bang.

When the full weight of Samael came to bear, Haresuno’s mind quickly realized how frightening things were getting, and how quickly.

So powerful... and he was able to hide most of that.... This is like trying to fight Sayis.

Teeth gritting, the captain resisted the urge to grab his individual strain. Instead he reached for his zanpakuto for the first time since the fight began. Hot-white reiatsu enveloped the katana as marvelous power rolled out in every direction. It took the sword and altered it while Haresuno stood in the center of his personal storm, black bangs fluttering like streamers around his face while his ponytail thrashed against his back violently, pounding on the bold number five for his division.

Standing his ground, Haresuno made no inclination of moving. Rather, he lifted his free hand as the appendage raced towards him. The burning power that was his initial release cooled, leaving the gardener standing with a gold staff made of etched scales in his right hand. In his left, something stirred against the surface of his skin.

Power flared, but not as it should have. A twisted sense of the world stood in existence with everyone, as power slipped away from attacks. The tentacle crashed into Haresuno, its burning touch eating at his skin beneath his bandaged hands.

But Haresuno refused to back down. He would move the current.

Throwing power into his body, he felt stronger, and the mental drowsiness he had felt moments ago became clarity, and the stinging acid didn’t feel so great. Haresuno knew otherwise. He’d regret taking the hit later if for now he could keep pushing the Faust Lord.

With his moment of clarity, Haresuno partitioned his mind. “Threshold,” he stated, letting power was into him to stave off the oncoming waves of pain. Right now he had something else to worry about. The spell in his first bandage was about to kick off, and he hadn’t even been able to fully devour any of the power behind the acid, but it had been enough.

Fire burst from the palm of his hand and formed a gout that tore through the rest of Faust’s appendage and headed straight for the guardian.

Just to make sure everything reached Samael, Haresuno flicked his burned hand at the man and released a wave of gekitai behind the flames.

[1521]

Yep.
Lots going on here. To stop the attack Hare used Hitei Reiatsu, Heishuu Ryuuou, Granite Constitution, and threshold. The spell heading for Sam is Hiashi with gekitai kicking up its speed, and anything in its way, as well as probably the areas it hits. So, splash back.

Amount Hitei Effected: 1784
Amount Heishuu Replenished: 892
Total bled from attack: 2676
Granite Constitution allows Hare to fortify his body for 2k rei and block attacks up to 10k, giving him a little resistance.
Gekitai: 2677
Total used to repel attack: 7763

Used Hare's base amounts for Hitei and Heishuu (as they should be) and gekitai is based off of release rei.

Displeased with Vincent’s reaction, Adelaide responded, “The Gardener told me to,” it was a disheartened tone in her voice compounded by the fact that Kousei seemed entirely unaffected by Lashiel’s power. Y’know, Adelaide thought, chastising her weapon, there was a time I was impressed with you. Clearly that time was long gone.

Never one to take criticism lightly, Lashiel retorted
Maybe he’s not attracted to the living? She sounded confident in this rather unserious theory, even supporting it with ‘logic’: Maybe this Kousei fellow really is afflicted with lust, but he fetishizes corpses. I only arouse them, Adelaide; their paraphilia are not to be blamed on me. Honestly, she was as irked as Adelaide that Allure had been so seemingly ignored – the man didn’t even twitch. He was either remarkably stoic or massively out of Lashiel’s league, and the scythe had little love for either group of people.

Adelaide’s disapproval grew deeper. Just admit it, you’ve lost your touch.

As she prepared to swing and deliver the stored kidou to Issei and possibly completely undermine the point she had been trying to make when the mist filled the air. Part of her wanted to hit the bankai petal there as well, but one was enough for the moment. The Faust Lord had released his full might, were Adelaide to responded in kind that might’ve been enough to knock Sekka out by itself; were Haresuno to join them a third bankai almost certainly would.

As the mist drew in preparing for the attack that was about to come toward the duo, Adelaide bit her lower lip in anticipation; “Okay, Vincent,” Adelaide said to her little subordinate, “Now would be a good time to show me how you intended to block a tornado.” She had no ideas, maybe her little subordinate did.

The battle escalated quickly, all too fast for her to react.

After the first Bankai was released, Sekka fell down on her knees, trying to withstand the pressure. She managed to at least hold her balance, though this changed dramatically when the Second Bankai was released in this tiny room.

Crushed to the ground, she had problems even to breathe.

God dammit Sekka, they aren’t attacking you at all and you are going down this easily, shame on you!

With all her might she managed to stand up for just a second, but enough time for her to use Soshi to navigate one of the paper shields usually meant to hide a face of a member of the Central Forty-Six in her direction, to push her against a nearby wall.

Even though the impact hurt her, at least now she was able to stand upright, though it was only possible because she pressed herself against the wall she just pushed herself into.

Stupid Bankai users!

She did not know how much time she had to help her teammates with their fighting, but at least she was lucky enough to not being attacked for a second time until the tentacles came flying in her direction. Maybe the enemies thought she was no threat and maybe she was no threat, but heck she would stay in their minds being a pest!

“Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Immolation and devastation, the wind sages rage, cast the spears ahead! Hadou number fourty-seven, Kongoubaku.”

She directed the force of the attack, the orange ball created by her spell, at the tentacle flying in her direction. Now it was either her, or the tentacle, and she was no fan of the second one.

Just to make sure, she used the panel she still controlled, and threw it in the air, before homing down at the middle part of the tentacle. The panel itself rotated while it homed down, looking like a giant saw blade intended to cut the tentacle in half.

Kongoubaku (Adamantine Blast) - Hadou #47, 625 Kidou
Description
: A large, fiery orange sphere of kidou energy is launched at the target, similar to Shakkahou. Upon impact, jagged metal shrapnel is launched from the center of the burning kidou energy.

Incantation: Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Immolation and devastation, the wind sages rage, cast the spears ahead! Hadou #47, Kongoubaku.

“Issei!”

What happened next occurred in seconds, but time seemed to slow as it began to occur. The samurai’s last-stand activated, as the entirety of the Central Forty-Six shook. The destructive kidou came forth from the blade, amplified by the Mystic’s own spell. The resounding conflagration bursted forth, annihilating the surrounding room. The showckwave rippled as quickly as it appeared, as the hungry fuel for the kidou dissipated.

In the rippling smoke faded, as suddenly Kikuchi Issei was thrown out of the smoke, as he was pushed away. He tumbled to the ground, flying across the floor. Light burns and bruises covered his body, but somehow he was alive. The fading smoke revealed its victim, the charred body of Kousei appeared. He fell, the trickling waves of energy still searing and crushing his flesh.

“Kousei!” shouted Issei, as he struggled to his feet, running to his cousin. He reached down, grabbing the deceased body, painfully attempting to reignite the spark of life. The corpse fell, life extinguished in chaotic destruction. “What were you thinking...” he struggled to speak.

Tears trickled down, as Issei got up once more. Rage filled his mind, retribution, revenge the only two emotions walking with him. He launched forward in a blink of shunpo, appearing directly above the samurai. He stabbed down, the sickening rip of flesh echoing through the room. A flash of crimson splattered on the ground, as life was taken away in payment. The crunch of broken bones, the pull of cut flesh, he removed his blade.

“Issei, get ahold of yourself!" roared Samael, as he turned to face the oncoming attacks. The flame, mixed Sekka’s kidou launched forward, accelerating every second. The form of his Bankai collapsed down and around him, wrapping around him in a cyclone of energy. The flames met the barrier, as they fought against the
degenerative aura of the sphere. The teal liquid cracked, as the flames forced their way through, engulfing the Faust lord. They ripped through his flesh, instantly cauterizing the wound after.

A gasp of air exited his mouth, as the attacks ripped through him. He collapsed down onto the ground, the energies still lapping over his body. The top of his robe was incinerated, revealing the charred skin underneath. He forced himself back up, a stagger in his step being a testament to the combined force.

You can work together then,” he spat with a slight tone of amusement, “About time you showed me the force of ones who choose to oppose Soul Society.”

The liquid appeared once more from his blade, appearing in a wave as he moved. Samael stumbled for a moment, the wounds still biting at him. He launched forward in a shunpo, the energy trailing behind him and dissolving the floor below. He moved as a demon, as the liquid covered his body completely. Moving as a bullet, he launched himself at Vincent and Adelaide, blade ready to cut down the pest.

In a void made only of searing pain, Gorou could hardly identify one wound from another. Most of his flesh had been seared beyond recognition, and his bones largely shattered by the impact of the kidou. Steel seemed to cut into him some time after the smoke had cleared. All that set the new wound apart was the feeling of cold metal and warmth as more of his blood gushed and spurted.

Some of the damage the burned ronin had caused was apparent to him when he opened his eyes, though the explosion had burned most of his face, preventing him from seeing out of his right eye. A slow groan left his throat, and he fell straight back onto the ground. Pain and weakness overwhelmed him so much so that he couldn’t manipulate even a single muscle. His ability to differentiate between inner and outer monologue fragmented, and his charred lips opened long enough to mutter the only coherent thought that his fading mind could contain.

“Honor in battle,” he inaudibly rasped. Having released that final breath his consciousness faded completely and the corpse ceased pretending to be a living being.
192[1129] FINAL

Destruction ripped apart the world in front of them. It, and the blade of Issei, tore down her former subordinate. No, her friend. Hell, he was practically the mirror that helped her get her act together. That mirror was shattered.

“Tangent.” The word was emotionless. She expected to be reflecting the coming tendril of burning death, but instead the Faust lord himself crashed headlong into her whimsical kinetic barrier, not that it mattered much. At his speed, acid and sword had already hit Adelaide before her kidou had time to do anything.

She didn’t look at her stomach, where the acid settled on her torn garment, rending it before it started to burn her flesh through her newly-formed slash along her side. She didn’t even wince when she felt the pain of the acid slowly dissolving her skin. She was numb with madness.

And in the pain and insanity, there was a single, serene moment of certitude. Enemies of Soul Society? No, no that wasn’t who she was. She was Adelaide Pierce. She was born of high blood, and she was damn sure going to act like it. She was, as far as she knew, the leader of the Mystics of the Divine, and she was damn sure going to act like it. She was flesh and if the agony she felt and iron she tasted meant anything she was blood, and she was damn sure going to act like it.

They wanted to believe she was an enemy of Soul Society, and it didn’t matter anymore if it was or was not possible to change this belief: Adelaide Pierce was damn sure going to act like it.

“Kikuchi Issei!” Adelaide announced. It wasn’t a roar, though it boomed like one. It was a command. Adelaide wanted his attention and she was going to have it. “History says you don’t die today. And despite your claim I am no enemy of this chamber,” there was a very crystal-clear single word following that remark, “however,” which was the inevitable next word, “you killed someone I like, and that is not a safe place to stand.”

She could feel a tingling in her hair, right in the roots, as it changed, the tips turning the blackness of pure abyss. She was fine with the fact that her shihakushou was burned apart because its remnants bled together and refocused. A single word, sharper than her scythe, cut the gentle roar of battle, “Bankai.” What the release lacked in a shockwave of power it more than made up for in the intimidation arena. Wings of fire tore out the back of Adelaide’s burned garment, further adding the smell of burned flesh to the gently wafting air of sulfur from uses of Hellfire moments before. The flames of said hellfire blazed to life in the reflections of Adelaide’s eyes while her scythe grew, somewhat organically, in size. As it did, chains sprung from the three gemstones that opened like eyes on its staff and encircled the elongated polearm as another blade sliced into being at the bottom of the weapon’s staff.

Gently, Adelaide exhaled power. Rage, the sum of her losses of self and of others, and the pressure of the insanity around her culminated in a dull tingle across her skin; black flames began to form, but quickly she gathered herself and as soon as they appeared they returned to idle just beneath her visage, a quiet time bomb of emotion welled beneath the surface of what looked like a fallen angel in the flesh. “Come to me,” she beckoned to Issei. Lash’s power hadn’t done a damn thing to Kousei, but this was a whole new level of the awesome power of desire. She wasn’t sure how in control of herself she was, but she trusted Lashiel to rein her in if she became too unstable. Considering fighting with bankai was an addiction for the weapon on the other hand, it was a trust misplaced.

Lashiel's Shadow

Some badassary borrowed from David Tennant, "Forests of the Dead". Hence the QTD.

Lashiel's Shadow
This enhanced form of Fallen Allure is much more intense than its Shikai counterpart. At the initial cost of 5% base Reiatsu one target within five meters can be afflicted with Lashiel’s Shadow. Only one person can be afflicted with the Shadow at a time. While afflicted with Lashiel’s Shadow, Lash can overcome the afflicted with a morally purer passion than she does otherwise; love. Whenever the afflicted sees Adelaide they experience the purest sensation of love ever felt in their life, replacing the object of that affection with Adelaide. This is not a memory, but a replication of the emotion once experienced. While troublesome to most opponents, it can be particularly devastating to Hollows, as it harkens back to their humanity. By expending Reiatsu greater than Adelaide’s investment, the afflicted may lift Lashiel’s Shadow and cannot be affected by it again for five rounds.
