Shikai - Gravios, The Armored Terror
Release Phrase: "Swallow whole my despair, Gravios!”
Manifestation: Life riddled with loss and tragedy, friends lost and slain in the wake of the blood red Queen. Deep beneath the surface of Mabara Tsubaki lies an irresistible urge, a desire that supersedes and encompasses all: To Endure. Body and soul have been subjected to nearly every manner of assault known to man, from the teeth and claws of innumerable Hollows to the painfully invasive gaze of Leon Valiente Simeon himself. Countless lacerations, burns, eviscerations and the complete and utter rending of both body and spirit have exacted a heavy price from the Captain of the Blood Templar. This pain gave rise to the abyssal fire that Tsubaki wields so fiercely in battle, but alone it is not enough to guard her waning heart from the growing dread.
Over time both the soul of Tsubaki and that of her blade, Ippozenshin have been steeped in the very fires of hell, unholy flame that tempers as well as ravages her soul and very life energy. In order to sate that most primal of desires the flame has acted as both forge and pyre, weathering away at her lifespan while honing and making more resolute the body and heart that contain it. This radical reshaping of Tsubaki’s soul has changed the spirit of her blade as well, melting away nearly any trace of Ippozenshin that may have remained after emerging from the very forge of Hell itself.
The act of endurance itself carries twofold conditions within the seemingly innocuous deed. Firstly, one must weather all assaults upon flesh and essence no matter the severity and fervor contained by those who would call themselves enemy. This has given rise to the massive network of jutting plates and spines of stone and steel that dot the entirety of the hide of Gravios like a self-contained landscape of hostility. A seething and molten core of the most potent of anger and rage gives shelter and succour to the vulnerable heart contained deep within the inferno. Should a foe ever be made known who could strike through all semblances of defense and protection, her heart would be in the utmost of peril.
The second condition of endurance is the removal of that which would seek to cause pain and suffering, the forcible exorcism of any threat to Tsubaki’s dwindling lifespan. When a ferrous shell of nigh impervious nature and the boiling blood stoked by the fires of war proves inadequate, the very flames that keep warm the heart of Mabara Tsubaki may be whipped and churned to an unbridled inferno, devouring and wiping away any threat that would persist.
Appearance: Gravios is the most pure and palpable form of rage known to any realm, mortal or otherwise. The very zenith of brute cruelty and malice, unfeeling and unyielding. A colossus of stone and steel given life in a form born in abomination of both Heaven and Earth, standing nearly four stories tall by conventional measure. Jutting lances of ferrous fury dot his surface like a mountainous crag, beset by two eyes forged of the purest rubies of Hell. A great spire of bleached rock rises above his stout head in a horn that seeks to skewer the very clouds above, flanked on both sides by two gargantuan wings of weblike metal that shimmer and gleam even in darkness. The massive bulk of this unearthly wyvern is kept in balance by a long and deadly tail, measuring ten meters to the tip.
As the unholy blade makes the transition to its Shi Kai form, the modest ebony katana is replaced by a massive hammer, jutted with countless sharpened steel spines. Appearing at first to be a replica of the massive skull of Gravios, the weapon is in fact a fraction of the beast’s terrifying power given life in the world of the tangible. When initially summoned the jaws of this horror remained locked shut in a unified surface, but upon using certain techniques in battle the weapon’s maw opens, venting traces of dark smoke that issues forth from the Hellfire embers that are kept just behind the countless honed teeth.
Measuring one and a half meters from the end of the handle to the apex of the dragon’s spiked crown, the hammer weighs nearly thirty pounds in total. It is heavy enough to shunt weapons and shields, but little enough in weight that the Captain is able to wield it with the same speed and ferocity as a traditional sword.
Ability: Scales of the Titan Lord, Unerring Infernal Blood - From the moment Gravios is brought into the realm of the physical, albeit only a fraction of his true power the world itself is barred from bringing about harm. Each round a shimmering scale of honed steel affixes itself to Tsubaki’s skin (usually on the face, neck, torso and arms) and becomes a part of her body as though it had been since the beginning.
Forged in the endless inferno of her very soul, each piece of glinting metal is a physical testament to all that which Tsubaki has endured, and will continue to do so. Desire made manifest, the plates of the Hell-born Wyvern will shield their charge through any injury.
Each scale grants the Captain a cumulative 1% Damage Reduction from any and all attacks, be they physical, magical or immaterial. As they absorb damage, the scales tarnish into a muddled bronze and fall away, replacing themselves at a ratio of two new scales for every single scale lost. The total number of scales Tsubaki can wear at any given time is twenty, and should the technique continue to operate any new scales will simply fall away.
Attack: Wrath of the Titan Lord, Unyielding Infernal Breath That Splits The Earth - From the moment Gravios is brought into the realm of the physical, albeit only a fraction of his true power any who would seek to bring harm against Tsubaki have all but sealed their fate. Stoked by the very gallows of the Righteous Devil herself, an inferno whose true strength lies beyond the veil of definition or measure is tended. This flame burns in the most resplendent of ruby hues, mingling with the abyssal fires of Tsubaki’s heart like a malicious kaleidoscope.
At a cost of 30% of her total (Not current) Reiatsu, the flames are launched from the open maw of Gravios in a beam of unequalled speed and ferocity. The destructive force is fortified by her own devotion to the killing arts, and for every 5,000 Zanjutsu she possesses (Including any fortifying techniques/effects) the beam is honed and made 10% faster, and its range is increased by 10 Meters. (The initial speed of the beam is the equivalent of a normal projectile Kidou)
In addition, any scales that remain on Tsubaki’s form dislodge themselves, each one adding 1% to the final damage of the attack. While the initial damage from Wrath of the Titan Lord can be mitigated and reduced via techniques and skills, the additional damage from the scales cannot be prevented or redirected.

Ban Kai - Gravios, Immortal Tyrant of Death’s Flame
Appearance: Breaking the seal which holds the whole of her unbridled power in check, assuming the final form of the Infernal Wyvern is undertaken with the most serious of conviction, and is in itself nothing less than a vow to win, no matter the cost. The abyssal fire that burns from Tsubaki’s heart ascends to a level previously matched only in the skies above Tokyo. The doldrums of catastrophe are stirred, and the very heavens overhead are bent low in obedience. The dark and unstoppable energies of the Wyvern’s full power coalesce the clouds and turn the skies black, churning about the very air into the storm that will unmake creation itself.
While the hammer itself undergoes no change aside from the eyes and flames inherent in the manifestation of the unholy Wyvern grow to their most malicious, and purest hues of ruby. Tsubaki however, is another story. Her own eyes match the glistening crimson hues of her weapon. The smooth ebony hair that normally hangs calmly around her crown takes on a more jagged appearance, somewhat resembling the spines of the Wyvern contained in her soul.
In the blink of an eye Tsubaki is transformed into an unstoppable engine of destruction, Shinigami and spirit melded in unrivaled ferocity.
Ability: Scales of the Titan Lord, The Seven Tragedies of Man - The scales of Gravios glitter in an everlasting hue of night, each brimming with the intent to cause pain beyond measure to the master that they defend. Two new scales affix themselves to the Captain’s form each round, granting 2% Damage Reduction per scale.
Through tragedy and pain one becomes stronger, through suffering one is sculpted into what they will one day rise to be. The primal desire to endure and withstand harm gives rise to an internal fervor that seeks vengeance against those who would inflict the suffering.
When Tsubaki is struck, two scales fall away per attack that the Captain endures. However, each scale that is peeled away brings to bear an event of great sorrow and loss in the life of an attacker. This recollection occurs in the foes mind, and cannot be circumvented via any mental discipline or conditioning. As before, each scale that is torn away is replaced by two its equal, stopping at a maximum of twenty scales.
Attack: Wrath of the Titan Lord, Fury That Rends the Heavens - Rage made real, the ruby and abyssal flames that Tsubaki commands coalesce and concentrate within the maw of her hammer, the whole of her energies are set upon killing intent. At a cost of 50% of her total (Not current) Reiatsu, the flames are launched from the open maw of Gravios in a beam of unequalled speed and ferocity. The destructive force is fortified by her own devotion to the killing arts, and for every 2,000 Zanjutsu she possesses (Including any fortifying techniques/effects) the beam is honed and made 15% faster, and its range is increased by 15 Meters. (The initial speed of the beam is the equivalent of a normal projectile Kidou)
Through tragedy and pain one becomes vicious, through suffering one is sculpted into their true
cruelty which will be inflicted upon the world. The primal desire to endure and withstand harm leads the calloused soul to carve their vengeance upon a world that would seek their sorrow.
Alternately, the Captain may choose to release the energy on a physical strike with the hammer, concentrating the whole of the unholy fire in a single instant. In addition, any scales that remain on Tsubaki’s form dislodge themselves, each one adding 2% to the final damage of the attack. While the initial damage from Wrath of the Titan Lord can be mitigated and reduced via techniques and skills, the additional damage from the scales cannot be prevented or redirected.
Attack: Wrath That Conquers All, The Unyielding Flame That Tears Asunder The World of Man - Through tragedy and pain one gives rise to clarity, through suffering one is sculpted into their true form, though torment the world makes flawless its own demise. The primal desire to endure and withstand harm supersedes all, driving the sculpted soul to purge the world that sought their sorrow, turning the cycle of pain anew.
Tsubaki calls upon the very zenith of destruction, paying 95% of her total (Not current) Reiatsu, summoning a great etched stone from the Earth below. Upon this obelisk is the final testament of destruction, etched by the fiery hand of the Captain herself. This stone rises thirty meters from base to tip, gleaming with runes of burning fury that gaze upon all creation with ire. (Should the cost of this attack exceed Tsubaki’s remaining Reiatsu pool, she is instead reduced to 1,000 Reiatsu and the damage is adjusted accordingly)
The runed monolith carries the whole of Tsubaki’s unbridled power within it, detonating in a brilliant holocaust of fire that encompasses a twenty meter radius. Using her own life energy to stoke the fires of rage, this final attack leaves the Captain utterly drained and re-seals her weapon into a dormant state.
