kish - it seems like you totally went and added in more stuff/didn't really follow my suggestions the way i was expecting but anyhow... i've never gotten so many complaints about a submitted kai before. Like literally 10 or 15 people have informed me of how much they hate this one, and yeah, there were all valid points...

you've basically still got abilities crammed into your form, the light and all that. yeah, multiple abilities even.

the ability is too strong and is solely anti-shinigami as well as being super difficult to RP (basically i got people saying to me there is no way in hell they'd fight you with that kai, quite a lot of people, so that's something you might want to consider...)

the other thing is you add in so much extraneous self-praising language that it makes the kai description about 2x as long as it would be otherwise, haha. please have a lil consideration to the ppl who have to read it D: you can't really say stuff like unparalleled and highest order and etc in a kai description... i really really dont like that >__< try saying what it does and what it looks like in a more objective way, please.

The attacks are fine, except for some language stuff again. 'almost instantly'... no thx. the speed is based on your combat stat, whether its light or a slash or whatever. doesn't matter.

Alright the last time I submitted it, the shikai was way too powerful. This version, I hope, is better in that regard.


Zanpakutou Name: Yuutai Indou (Ethereal Requiem)

Zanpakutou Kai Release: Shikai


Manifestation: Indou takes the form of harpy, though when appearing to Torai she prefers for him to only hear her voice, if a physical appearance is necessary she hides her bird form under a cloak so only her natural face is show. In Indou’s complete form, despite her foreboding appearance, she’s kind to Torai, neither out right helping him nor casting him aside; she prefers to only give cryptic clues for Torai to figure out what is needed in a situation himself.

Release Phrase: Sing Through Oblivion Yuutai Indou

Appearance: Once Torai is finished with the release his blade splits into a pair of chicken sickles, each one measuring about two feet long and with a six inch curved blade. On the opposite side from the main blade is a small three inch blunt hook used to hit opponent’s nerves and pressure points. Out of the top of the dual crescents is a two inch spear head. A hand guard runs down from a quarter of the way up for the bottom of the main shaft of each sickle and loops backward to insure that Torai won’t drop them. The main body of the sickles is a deep blue, contrasting with a dark metallic grey of the blades and spear head. Numerous small crimson music notes dot the pair of weapons sporadically. A constant humming is present, the tone and tempo of which are dependent on Torai’s mood.

Ability: Diana’s Galliard

At the cost of 4% reiatsu Torai is able to leave a mark on any object, other than on people. One placed, the note is shaped like a deep blue music note about six inches big, and at his command can be activated to create a clone composed of sound waves. Once activated, the doppelganger stays around for three turns and has some sentient abilities. He will run around in an attempt to distract the opponent to give Torai the time to calculate what to do next. The clone has no physical form, and as such, cannot do any damage to an opponent. The other major downside lies in the fact that the clone will appear in place of the mark, and though he has control of when to release the clone, cover is necessary for this ability to be of any use. A maximum of three marks can be present at any one time and each mark requires a 1% reiatsu cost to maintain it or it will disappear.

Attack: Discordia’s Nocturne

At the cost of 3% reiatsu and by running his hand over the length of the blade, Torai can gather and condense the sound waves coming off of the blade into a ball about the size of a baseball. After creating the ball, it appears as a highly warped shimmering area of air, clearly visible to anyone even at great distances. The sphere will retain its shape for an indefinite amount of time, but as soon as Torai snaps his fingers the ball violently releases its energy causing a small explosion within a one foot radius of where it is. This allows it to be thrown and placed without worrying when it might go off. A maximum of three spheres can be active at any one time though all explode on a single snap.

Attack: Muse’s Coda

At the cost of 5% reiatsu Torai unleashes his shikai’s only direct attack. Looping his hands out of the guards of the weapons Torai throws them in the direction of his opponent twisting the weapons horizontally as he lets them go. The humming of the blades increases to a near frantic level to attempt to disorient from which direction the blades will come. With a hand gesture in the desired direction both weapons revolve once more before going forward to attack. The maximum range of this technique is 5m.
 
"Kisoku" - [Shackles]

Form:

A network of blackened metal--- a black bracer around his forearm and a set of five matching finger claws, one on each finger. Five chains connect the bracelet to the finger guards, going through loops between each knuckle.

Ability:

Kisoku can extend the chains attached to each of Zhukov's fingers a total of twenty feet each, propelling them with such velocity that they are practically projectiles in their own right. Additionally, these chains can be manipulated telekinetically. If the chains are destroyed, they can simply be grown again.


Vizard Attack: " Shinri" - [Inquiry]

The ends of each of the five chains bear a single spine; when these spines skewer a target, Zhukov can tap into the power of his inner hollow, compelling the spines to induce petrification to the flesh surrounding the spines. This stony paralysis does not extend to internal organs, however. Silver-blue blood seeps from the end of each spine as the stony conversion is induced.

"Enshin Kisoku" - [Destined Trial Shackles]

Form:

Enshin Kisoku, a being born in the darkness huddled away in Anton Zhukov's essential core, cannot visibly or materially manifest itself under the scrutiny of brilliant light. So long as there is strong enough light, such as broad daylight or the field in a crowded sport arena, Enshin Kisoku cannot properly manifest itself. However, it is still "˜located' when released in light, and if there are pockets of shadow or darkness in the space where the great being is located, those select portions are both visible and material. Kisoku cannot exist materially and invisibly, nor visibly and immaterially, but always either invisible and immaterial or visible and material. Moreover, the crushing Reiatsu of a released Bankai still imposes itself upon the immediate area surrounding the release, identically as in normal release.

The statue is a silent creature that may have been considered horrifying were it not for the utterly elegant way in which it levitates across the battlefield. Its body, although about one hundred feet tall, is similar to what a female human body would look like if it was carved from obsidian. The entire statue is wrapped in white cloth, and bright bluish-silver blood continually trails from its skewered palms and throughout its serpentine hair. The angel's palms are pierced through with oversized nails, and the palms and points of the nails are facing upward and its arms are lowered out to either side. A single chain wraps countless times around the statue's body, with each end tied to the twin hand-piercing stakes. The angel's eyes are perpetually covered by the same white cloth that shrouds its torso and legs. The gigantic statue's onyx hair is much longer and larger than the statue itself, about one hundred yards, and it perpetually floats around Enshin Kisoku in the wake of the statue's movement. While they are called "hairs" , each strand is a chain for most of its length, while a few yards around the statue's head retains the appearance of hair. At the end of each chain resides a single spine only a few inches in length, and yet enough to fatally pierce an enemy.

Just below the hollow of the woman's throat sits a single throne; it is here that Zhukov must sit in order to make use of Enshin Kisoku's abilities.

Kisoku's Bankai can only fully manifest either at night, or in an area shielded from the Sun and other sources of brilliant light.


Ability:

Enshin Kisoku's primary ability revolves around the concept of "˜restraint'. When a target is impaled by one of the spines at the end of the statue's chain-hair, a secondary chain shoots out of the spine and anchors itself in space. A total of three chains can be attached to a target at any given time. Each chain limits how much a target can move along a single plane to twenty meters from the anchor point, but aside from that plane, the user has free range of motion. Additional chains, however, not only influence movement along the other planes of motion, but also decrease freedom of movement in all restrained planes by 10 meters, meaning that at the maximum restraint of 3 chains, the target cannot move in any direction. Because this ability is conceptual in origin, it can target any object for restraint, be it a living opponent, an immobile rock, or even an incoming projectile. Only one chain can be attached per round.

Each restraining chain targets the conceptual "˜core' of what is being restrained, so if a humanoid is bound, the more chains that target them, the closer each chain will target their chest. Even though one may be fully immobilized by all three chains, one would still be able to move one's arms and legs in an almost unrestricted capacity, aside from being unable to change one's location.

This binding, however total, is hardly permanent. Each anchored chain can only restrain a target for a total of five rounds. There is an additional condition through which a bound target can lessen the restraint of a single chain - by transmitting the data of an ability or an attack from the target's feat or bankai slots through the chain and into Enshin Kisoku itself, that ability can be sealed in exchange for lessening the duration of one's imprisonment by three rounds. If one is bound by three chains when the exchange is made, all three chains are similarly reduced. Sealed abilities remain unusable for three rounds, but those abilities cannot be sealed more than once in a battle with Enshin Kisoku released.


Attack: "Tsumi" - [Crime]

By spending 5% Reiatsu, Enshin Kirema can summon forth a short-lived river of chains from any shadow within one hundred feet of the statue. The chains swarm at and around the target, inflicting cutting and bashing damage. Furthermore, use of this attack can trigger a chain anchor. This attack has a range of 20 meters from the original shadow.


Attack: "Gosei" - [Wisdom]

A powerful piercing ray. This attack can burn holes several inches wide through any opponent with less than 150% of Zhukov's maximum Reiatsu. Originating at Enshin Kisoku's forehead, this ray is a high-power, small-area of effect attack designed to take maximum effect when a target is fully bound. This attack consumes 10% Reiatsu, has a range of 30 meters, and a width of several inches.


Attack: "Saiketsu" - [Judgment]

By spending 20% Reiatsu Enshin Kisoku can momentarily spawn five additional chains from the tip of each hair in a massive long-range onslaught, inflicting impaling, bashing, cutting, and massive collateral damage. This attack can trigger a chain anchor, and has a range of 200 meters. Note that this range is defined exclusively by the range of the hair, which when extended by this attack has a total length of 200 meters. At the end of the round in which this ability was used, the extended chains permanently separate from Enshin Kisoku, losing the Bankai's resiliency, but remain discarded on the battlefield until the kai is sealed once more.


Vizard Attack: "Zaika" - [Punishment]
Using the power of Zhukov's inner Hollow, the binding across Enshin Kisoku's eyes falls away, revealing a pair of blank silver-blue slates. The statue's head slowly rotates in a complete circle, silver-blue essence seeping from both sightless eyes and the invisible wound on the Kai's neck on which the head spins. Invisible energy continually exudes from the newly-revealed eyes, imbuing the darkness surrounding Enshin Kisoku with great power. The instant that the head's rotation has return it to its natural position, the energy is expended, creating a giant pillar of perfect darkness extending horizontally from Enshin Kisoku twenty meters in every direction, and extending almost limitlessly upward to the heavens and downwards to the earth.

Everything within this pillar of darkness is subject to petrification according to the following chart:

Petrification tends to effect the extremities before the core areas of the human body, meaning that the weaker the opponent, the closer the stone-conversion will creep to their heart. After the first use of this attack, the statue's eyes close, letting the silver-blue blood slowly trace down its face. This attack consumes 30% Rage and 20% Reiatsu, while generating 15% Emptiness.

shinri: need to define that at shikai level the petrification only is affecting mobility and such, not hindering internal organs

Bankai: approved but i'm kinda confused by the form. can you still attack when it's not visible? like... if someone casts hinome..

Vizard Kai: Symphony of the Forgotten

At the cost of 5% reiatsu, 10% rage and generating 5% emptiness Torai is able to generate a sound driven beam. By letting go of both blades and super charging them with reiatsu, enables them to briefly hover for a moment, spinning in a circular pattern. After a brief pause they fire out a massive beam of spiritually charged sound was, almost like a high-powered version of his Discordia's Nocturne attack, both in form and function. The beam looks like a ripple in the air, reminiscent of the waves seen on extremely hot days. Once it makes contact with any substance the beam detonates causing a small explosion to occur at the point of impact. The beam is about one meter wide and has a maximum range of five meters before the end of the beam detonates automatically
 
okay, here's my eightieth submission of my kais. Changed the siphon in the shi kai to reflect Ritoru's stats, not the opponent. Nixed the two other abilities on the ban kai that came here from the other rp. If I ever decide to come up with attacks for ban kai I'll post them later.

Shi Kai

Activation Phrase: "Share your terrible burden, Aishoutsukai!"

Form: On release command, Aishoutsukai lets forth a terrible, pain-filled howl as Ritoru begins to slowly pull him from the sheath. As the weapon is being pulled, it is enveloped in an almost blindingly bright red glow as it is immediately transformed into a 5'6'' double-halberd. On each end, there is a 2-foot axe head with a very ornate metalworking. There is also a very sharp point at the tip of each side when thrusting maneuvers are in order.

Ability
- "Reikon Denrei” (Soul Courier) - This ability is always active. If the blade cuts an opponent's flesh, Aishoutsukai reveals in a whisper the opponent's greatest fears to Ritoru. A mental image is also provided to Ritoru by Aishoutsukai to supplement his message. Representing this transfer, an opponent feels a very cold sensation from his new wound as 1% of Ritoru’s max SP is immediately drained from the victim and transferred to Ritoru. If the opponent stops to examine his wound, he will notice that it has been cauterized by small crystals of ice. An additional 1% is siphoned from this attack every 5000 connection afterward to a maximum of 5%. Starting at 10000 connection this can be used as a ranged attack, in the form of an invisible crescent, to a distance of no more than 10 meters away.

Ability
- (Ice Spikes) – Aishoutsukai’s blades are always cold to the touch. This is because Ritoru’s soul is constantly releasing his pain through his weapon. Through extreme concentration, Ritoru has learned to focus and channel his burden through the icy blades themselves. This change manifests itself immediately at Ritoru’s thought as icy spikes that shoot forth from the weapon's massive blades. The spikes extend rapidly from the blades forming jagged points that fly towards his foes. Ritoru can produce 2 of these spikes, 1 on each blade. And starting at 2000 connection an additional spike is added to each blade with another 2 able to be added every 1000 connection thereafter. As the spikes are technically an extension of the zanpakutou's blades, all other relevant abilities still apply. Ritoru can use this ability once per battle per 2000 connection attained.

Ban Kai

Form:

Upon utterance of Ban Kai, Ritoru’s zanpakutou can be seen to transform from the monstrous double-halberd to a 3-foot katana that appears to have a black, ethereal blade with a serrated edge that looks as if it has come alive. It occasionally drips a dark, oozing substance that feels like acid if it comes into contact with the skin.

An additional note, Ritoru’s outfit is changed heavily as well once he enters Ban Kai. If any PC’s or NPC’s were around 400 years ago, they might recognize the outfit of a shinigami felon that was executed for illegal experimentation from within the R&D division of the Gotei. Ritoru’s neck is swathed in a white cloth that tails down over a loose, black jump-suit that many of the scientists used during the felon’s experiments to protect themselves from the dangerous reactions they uncovered.

Ability - (Soul Discord) - All souls have been recycled countless times, back and forth between the world of the living and the world of the dead. Many past souls were great human warriors or shinigami who fell in battle, and many more still were just peasants and wanaderers, destined to die powerless and poor. Each aspect of these soul’s existences, however, still cries out to be heard. When two, or more, of these existences collide with each other within the same unprepared shell, the only possible outcome is devastation.

Upon activation, an invisible sphere of Ritoru’s reiatsu with diameter based on his connection forms around him. At its initial stage, the sphere is only 10 meters in diameter, with an additional 10 meters being added to the diameter every 5,000 connection subsequently. Once the sphere is initiated, each soul within the sphere, or that comes within the sphere as ban kai persists, experiences the full effect of Soul Discord. The effects are unique for each soul as well as different each time a particular soul is exposed more than one time. Based on the number of existences drawn out by Aishoutsukai’s call, which initially will be set at a maximum amount of 2 per soul present with another able to be added every 5,000 connection subsequently, certain temporary changes can be seen within an individual:

Single Stat Shift – 1 point
Single Kidou Lock - .5 point
Tech/Corresponding Non-Shinigami Ability Lock – 3 points

In this instance, points equal existences able to be called and signify the cost for Ritoru to alter an aspect within a soul. Upon exposure to Soul Discord and due to the exhausting nature of its effects, a soul does not return to normal for three minutes upon leaving the sphere initiated by Soul Discord. Unfortunately, there is a cap to the number existences Aishoutsukai can recall based on the connection/relative ability of the opponent(s). 5 against those of relative strength of Ritoru, only 3 for those who are double or more connection. For those few who are unfortunate enough to be less than half the strength of Ritoru, they must cope with the full payload of Aishoutsukai’s burden.

-For Stat Shift, the amount of a particular stat that will be altered due to the increasing interference from previous existences is based on Aishoutsukai’s ability to act as the catalyst in their summoning, in other words Ritoru’s connection. Starting with 50% of a stat able to be shifted at 10,000 connection, with an additional 5% able to be shifted for every 2,000 connection attained subsequently to a maximum of 75%. All stats shifted MUST be reallocated elsewhere for the duration of the effect.
-For Kidou and Tech locks, if Ritoru is aware of what he wants locked, it can be chosen. Otherwise the Kidou/Tech lock is randomly selected.

An Event Which Shakes Heaven, Fate Cutter, Path Through the Heavens

[ Form / Ability ]

Setsumei Amaji’s blade, in the flash of light, materializes into a spear. The shaft of the spear is made of an earthy reddish material, exquisitely detailed in gold with pictures of an eagle becoming a phoenix while beset by attacks from dragons. The spear, which combines characteristics of a qiang and a su yari, has a blade which seems to be made of diamond or a similarly transparent crystal; light seems to be trapped in the crystal, making it a weak source of illumination. Additionally, the spear has a flowing crimson red tassel with gold trim hanging from the pommel.

The spear is very difficult to handle, and Masato’s ability to use the spear is dictated by his ability to use the kai in general – but when mastered, the spear affords incredible maneuverability and striking power.

This is just the corporeal form of Douten Setsumei Amaji. The true power of the release lies within the unspeakable amounts of hakyuukouka – the chaotic energy that propelled Masato’s shi kai – that floods the area surrounding Masato. The range of the field is vast, a radial range of 1.5 meters per 1k Connection (max attained at kai mastery).

Within this range, the spear (and to a lesser extent, Masato's body) acts as a catalyst for chaos within the area. Any movement can, at Masato’s whim, send a wave of hakyuukouka crashing towards the enemy (the different types of strikes one can make with a spear define the ‘shape’ of the wave – the different amount of force Masato uses also defines how much potential of the energy he uses). The chaotic energy in this form is a tidal wave of colliding reiatsu currents – thus, not only does it apply pressure as a force, but it also cuts opponents with arbitrarily-pathed lacerations. The strength and speed of this wave is dependant on Masato’s Zanjutsu and while the damage taken is dependant on the opponent’s Reiatsu. Masato's Zanjutsu stat and the cost of the ability give a rough approximation of the damage when compared to the opponent.

The wave of chaos functions much like a wave of liquid – crashing into any barrier, and wrapping around obstructions with limited width. When the wave reaches the end of the kai’s range, the energy fizzles and dissipates almost immediately – leaving nothing but a warmer temperature.

This manipulation of hakyuukouka costs Masato 2% of his Reiatsu per turn that the hakyuukouka is affected – energy required to start the chain reactions that drive the chaos. Additionally, as the waves become more intense, the random agitation of the hakyuukouka becomes more visible in the air – at high levels of manipulation, the air appears ‘foggy’ as if one was looking through steam.​

[ Attacks ]

Ranha ‘Disorder Current’ – By actively controlling the hakyuukouka and focusing it around the spear by spinning it around the blade, Masato is able to compress the force and make a focused attack upon the enemy. The strike, which is faster than it is strong, can be focused over time– a maximum of 7% of Masato’s Reiatsu can be added per turn. As the energy builds, the energy starts to emit light – a multiple-turn Ranha will be a slicing arc of light while a single-turn Ranha will simply be a focused ‘ripple’ in the air. Anything beyond smaller movements will upset the gathering and prematurely fire Ranha, so Masato cannot attack an opponent with his spear while charging Ranha. Since Ranha is concentrated, it can go beyond the range of the kai without any decaying of energy, but excessive use of it in a short span will weaken the entire kai's effect and subsequent attacks. Ranha fulfills the prerequisites for a use of Netsutekishi.

Netsutekishi ‘Heat Death’ – A counterattack usable only after the opponent has been struck by Ranha; Netsutekishi is used when an opponent prepares to fire an energy attack. By remotely swelling the lingering chaotic energy, Masato is able to make an opponent’s attack go out of control and do damage on its caster. In order to do this, Masato must pay the full price of the energy attack the opponent was about to use. This takes the form of a brilliant explosion of light from within the opponent’s body that does damage equal to half the original attack’s power. This attack can only be used twice per battle, and the hakyuukouka must affect the opponent a separate time for each use – the ‘hits’ cannot stack or be stored.​

Manifestation of spirit: From first appearance, unavoidable fear sanctioned by a comforting elegance radiate from the being that resembles that of a bird. Divided into two, the right half of the spirit lays with decaying, putrid flesh, still rotting. A sight of utter disgust spills out from the right side, cracked bone, torn flesh, everything about it causes a gut wrenching malevolence to swell, the feeling of horror flows out from the beaded blood, ruby red eye that stares intently. Shredded, splintered feathers that remain, very few are left to hide the grotesquely mutilated body. However, the opposite side, the left to said right. It brims with elegance, silvery feathers tipped with a cobalt blue of an undeniable majestic presence. Calming, the essence of its colour, prideful and pure, relaxing to limitless extents, a beaded eye of bright aqua blue, incomparable to the opposition of it’s other half. Together to two sides mesh, forming a bird of equal size to the average human. Two wings, the left, perfection beyond measure, while the right, broken, decayed, almost lifeless. Of male gender, those that gaze upon him may develop many understandings that differ of why he may look like he does.

Released Form: From the moment the phase is muttered, the hilt splits from the bottom up, engulfed with a green tinted light soon after. The blade completely disappears as and the handle becomes two, the handles curve, within moments the blade reappears trailing back to slightly above Leo’s elbow length. Two blades one of which in each hand, both handles made to fit perfectly in the palm. A form of one bladed claw that trails back following the arm, acting as both a guard and the weapon, only edged on one side.

Ability one: Leofer is capable of a few things, one of which is focusing certain degrees of his own reiatsu at the edge of his blades. The reiatsu is both unstable and unpredictable, due to Leofer’s lack of skill in controlling such. Used as a ranged wave that represents a green crescent, Leo fires it directed from the edge of the weapon. However, the inability to only have access to firing it in a direct one-way line makes it easy to dodge. Being at a distance would give an easy opportunity to dodge it completely. Each ‘wave’ costs a minor 5% reiatsu but can only be used twice per thread, increasing by one with every 1000 connection gained.

This is my new Shikai. I'm making a new one because it fits in VERY well with my story, and all the nice details and what not relevent to the shikai itself will be included there. Let me know if I need to change/add anything porFAVOR.

Name: Tachikiruotome "" Sundered Maiden

Phrase: Suck the light out of the world Tachikiruotome

A little background:

After the torture Deidric's soul went through, his Zanpakutou also undertook some change. Izumiame no longer the peaceful spirit of Deidric's blade, took upon a hideous visage, scarred from the torture just like Deidric was. She changed from a peaceful, defensive entity, to one of complete negativity. Now instead of prioritizing the negation of attacks and means to avoid battle, she actively seeks conflict by drawing the most negative of emotions out of Deidric's foes and intensifying them to absurd levels. Where Izumiame was submissive and followed Deidric's will to the exact, Tachikiruotome is far less understanding. She requires a firm hand, and complete force of will, or else the results will differ from what Deidric had intended. Even with complete mastery over her, some of her power remains difficult to control completely.

Manifestation: Tachikiruotome manifests herself into the world in the form of a hooded figure, garbed in rough black cloth. Nothing special endows the robe, and the only thing visible are the pale white eyes under the hood.

Blade: The once aqua katana is now a deep obsidian, so dark that it looks like it is trying to eat all of the worlds light. The blade is attached directly to the hilt, with no hand guard. The hilt of the weapon is black as well. The Zanpakutou itself is as long as your average katana. The only noticeable difference between the released state, from the original form is the complete darkness of the weapon.

Release: Deidric speaks the phrase, and his Zanpakutou shines brightly for a moment before becoming completely dark.

Ability: Kengen no Ankoku -Manifestation of Darkness

Tachikiruotome has the unique ability to draw out the negative emotions of the enemy and intensify them greatly. Hatred, rage, jealousy and so on, are all brought forth by this ability. Deidric may also crudely interpret these feelings, giving him a small look into the minds of those effected. The ability is not limited to one person, and can effect anyone within 10 KM, the area of effect growing by 5 KM for every 1000 connection Deidric has.

Ability: Hisake no Ankoku "" Flames of Darkness

Using the negativity of those around him, Tachikiruotome is able to produce flames fueled by those dark emotions. The heat, pain and burning caused by them are very real. Deidric can control these flames to a degree, but cannot use them to the degree of which he could control water with Izumiame.

Attack: Nanpou juumonji "" Southern Cross

While named after a constellation in the night sky that does not even resemble a cross, this attack surely does. When the flames of his blade grow strong, Deidric is able to unleash a devastating attack upon his foe. When his blade makes contact with an enemy, all of their negative emotions are consumed by the fire his blade produces. The result is a rather large flaming cross erupting from the ground and up through their body. The stronger the negative emotions in the one struck, the more powerful the attack will be. The attack is also fueled by Deidric's reiatsu, as well as his opponents. The more powerful his opponent is, the more fuel for the fire there is. This only works up to a point though, when enemies become twice as powerful as Deidric, they can nullify the flames through sheer force of spirit.

[ Spiritual Manifestation ]

As a water-based Kai, it is only appropriate that the form of the manifestation reflect this. As a result, Kosame Sougawa initially takes upon the appearance of a young mermaid, perhaps no more than 8 years of age or so. Her hair is long, coming down to her mid-back, and an odd mix between black and a very dark green. Her eyes, however, are a clear, reflective turquoise - the color of the sea on the most beautiful of days. Her lower body is simply a fin - pale pink in coloration - while her upper body is covered with white binding tape.

[ Form ]

Upon speaking the release phrase of his Shi Kai, Ozanari's blade will glow a brilliant turquoise color for a split second before the light suddenly expands outward to reveal the new form of Kosame Sougawa. In it's newly released form, the chokutou has become a unique weapon - a jian, or Chinese Broadsword. A double-edged straight blade, this new form is actually significantly shorter than it's sealed form, with the blade being 61 Centimeters in length. The blade, like before, is a reflective silver primarily, however it has gained an odd blue-sheen to it, only noticeable when light reflects off of it. The grip of the blade is done in a mahogany-stained leather, as is the suddenly transformed sheath, and both the plain cap and newly created guard are done in a pure silver. Unlike most guards, the guard of Kosame Sougawa is not circular, but rather a piece of straight metal that curves back towards the navy-blue tassel on both ends. This new weapon, like all jian, is relatively light and a one-handed weapon.

[ Ability : Senryuu ] - 'The River's Flow'

Kosame Sougawa, upon release, floods the area with a diameter of 15 meters around Ozanari with an initial sheet of two inches of water, which increases in depth by 1 inch per 1,000 connection, as well as creating a light, drizzling rain and activates this ability. However, in the area directly under Ozanari there is significantly more water, approximately an extra half-foot in depth, two feet wide, and a good five feet in length, though the exact shape can be changed as long as the volume of water does not change. This water 'flows', moving extremely easily and supports him, allowing him to float atop of it. Under normal conditions, this current can flow at a speed equal to Ozanari's foot speed, allowing him to move extremely easily simply by controlling the flow mentally. This flow, however, can be increased once every two turns to result in one of two effects. The first effect is simply to create a pseudo-shunpo - a high-speed movement which is approximately half the speed of his typical shunpo. However, unlike a normal shunpo, an attack can be made in this state, allowing for a high speed attack as one closes distance. The second possible effect occurs when Ozanari decides to divert the increased flow to a specific limb while at close range. In this usage, the flow creates an attack with a significantly higher speed - though nowhere near the speed of the first usage - and damage capacity. This attack, however, cannot be changed when the course is decided upon and is difficult to recover from if it misses. This first usage results in a drain equal to twice that of the equivalent Shunpo and in the second situation the drain is simply 1% of Ozanari's Reiatu.

[ Attack : Shibuki Hisame ] - 'Spraying Frozen Rain'

Upon achieving 2,000 Connection, Kosame Sougawa will grant its user its a first attack. Shibuki Hisame is activated by building up Reiatsu within the blade of Kosame Sougawa and then expelling it in a single motion - a wide arc aimed at 45 degrees relative to the ground. The energy that's expunged takes on the form of hundreds of small chunks of frozen water, around the size and shape of one's thumb. Shibuki Hisame is medium to long-ranged attack with a large area of effect - it encompasses an area which starts from 15 meters away and is initially 11 meters wide and 11 meters deep. This area expands by 1 meter by 1 meter every 1,000 connection and maxes out at Ban Kai with a total area of 20 meters by 20 meters. The attack's damage is based upon Ozanari's Zanjutsu stat and has a drain of 2% of Ozanari's Reiatsu.

[ Attack : Sakamaku Nami ] - 'Surging Wave'

Kosame Sougawa grants its user a second attack once they reach 4,000 connection. Sakamaku Nami is initiated in a similar way to Shibuki Hisame - it starts with the gathering of Reiatsu within Kosame Sougawa's blade. However, this isn't the only thing being gathered - all particles of water, save for those necessary to fuel Senryuu, are being compressed within the blade as well. After several seconds, the preparations are complete and the attack is launched by sweeping the blade in an arc that is near-parallel to the ground. A mixture of rapidly expanding energy and water is released through this motion in the form of wave. The wave is eight feet tall and starts at 10 feet wide, which expands the longer the attack to travel. For every ten feet forward the wave travels, it can grow an additional 5 feet wide, maxing out at 30 feet total. This distance its capable of traveling starts at 100 feet total and grows by an additional 50 feet for every 1,000 connection gained, maxing out at Ban Kai at 400 feet total. The attack drains 4% of Ozanari's Reiatsu and deals damage relative to his Kidou stat.

dami- there are a ton of problems with this kai, but as it stands due to your tendency to disappear without warning (and the fact that you already have an approved kai that you havent even used), i feel like it's not really the best investment of my time at the moment. please revise and resubmit after you can show that you've been active for three weeks straight, and i'll review it for you then.


trill- from what i can see you've only got 440 connection. the minimum for submitting shikai is 900 (see the rules in the first post of this thread)

TXAMSEM
Txamsem appears from a tattoo on Blaine’s left shoulder. When summoned, it looks like a white raven and has the intelligence of a normal human.

First Ability: “Ayohuhisdi Agali” (Means “Death Sun” in Cherokee) Shoots a small bead of powerful fire that can hit with pinpoint precision as long as Txamsem can see the spot he is aiming for. This small bead then explodes on contact.

Second Ability: “Adanvdo Aisv” (Spirit Walk) Txamsem goes intangible and makes those he touches intangible. This allows Txamsem to go through walls, buildings, regular humans, and what not, but not a spiritually powerful being with a harmony more than one fifth that of Blaine’s harmony.

Third Ability: “Equa Nigvi” (Large Size) Txamsem grows to such a large size that two people can easily ride on top of him. This growth does not increase his abilities, only enables him to carry people. Txamsem’s other abilities can still be used in this form.

Shokushu Akumu (Tentacle Nightmare)

Description of Form and Release: To release his latent power Riku digs the fingers of his left hand into his right arm and lets out an unearthly howl, as he does this a strange discouloration of his flesh grows from the point that his fingers made contact. Immediately taking his fingers away, Riku closes his eyes so that he doesn't have to see the abhorrence his body is becoming and the whole of his arm is engulfed in this dark orchid discolouration and a tentacle wraps its way down from his shoulder until it gets to his elbow, at which point it replaces the rest of his arm.

Once this happens, the calcified remains of his bones are dissolved and added to the biomass that becomes this tentacle, as it is purely muscle it is stronger than his normal arm. The tentacle itself can extend up to 1 metre in length.

After finishing whatever task warranted the release of his power he can reseal the tentacle in a healing technique that is excrutiatingly painful, even more so than the actual release.

Ability: Reiatsu Exoskeleton: Using the calcified remains of his bones as Reiatsu focui this allows Riku to form a tiny field of reiatsu upon his arm.

This ability is permanantly active and allows the forcefield around the tentacle to have the durability of an unreleased Zanpakuto.

This ability can be overcharged to force the reiatsu field in a certain location to create a pure kinetic energy explosion, no energy is wasted in thermal or sonic coversions. This overcharging costs a minimum of 200 reiatsu per 15cm the explosion is originating from, and grows stronger without any diminishing returns for the amount of energy poured in. However the power diminishes exponentially for the distance traveled as it detonates upon release of power, making it an incredibly close range attack. (up to the length of the tentacle, making it a 1m ranged attack)

Attack: Subtle Machinations: This attack is unlocked at 2000 Harmony.

To activate this attack Riku must pierce the skin of his opponent with the tentacle, which is quite a feat in itself as the tentacle is fairly blunt, it can only be accomplished by stretching taut the skin that is to be pierced.

After piercing of the skin has occured an expenditure of 5% reiatsu is required to activate the dormant parasites created by the tentacle and inject them into the bloodstream, after this they begin consuming reiatsu at 2% of Kotor's reiatsu per round.

This effect can be cancelled by the casting of any Chiyuudo spell or other specialised healing technique.

“Embrace of Destruction’s Essence”

Form
The full release of Essential is a terrible thing indeed. By unlocking the restraints the weapon has when interacting with the real world, Kyuu summons forth a mighty ally and a sinister power. The sword of Essential itself, if in shikai state, rapidly expands and evolves in the blink of an eye taking on the shape of an exaggerated two handed sword. If released into bankai while sealed, the weapon explodes in a violent lash of destructive energy, briefly obscuring Kyuu before revealing the weapon’s new state.

Like the shikai for Essential, the bankai is an outpouring of energy every turn. This energy reacts with all other types of energy and matter

Like most bankai, the weapon’s size is exaggerated from the shikai state, 12’ in length, 6” in thickness and 3’ in width. Its form projects from Kyuu’s hand, composed entirely of the destructive energy present in his shikai release.

In addition to the sword, the over-abundant destructive energy radiates through Kyuu’s body. This energy is in fact the physical manifestation of his zanpakutou’s spirit. Essential, a dangerous image of its hollow self, wraps its form around Kyuu, giving him a demonic air.

An elongated predatory jaw slopes forward off of a horned skull. Its body is thin and sinewy, the appendages seeming overly long for the beast’s seeming 7’ stature. Each appendage ends in a lethal set of claws that match each of Kyuu’s digits. A pair of engulfing black wings rise off the beast's back over ten feet in either direction, seeming to consume the very air around them rather then occupy it. When the great beast rears up, it’s form towers over that of Kyuu, nearly 10’ in total height. The monster then quickly sinks into Kyuu's body, as described below.

It should be noted, since Essential is a constant outpouring of raw energy, it merely passes through objects and either obliterates or debilitates them based on the ability/attacks listed below. Thus, regardless of the consequences of those effects, Essential suffers no resistance when contacting matter or energy of any sort.

Ability
Essential's ability in bankai is unusual, but none the less potent. By concentrating and fueling the reaction with his own reiatsu, Kyuu is able to pull Essential into and have it become of him. The fusion of these two beings results in a twisting of Kyuu’s visage. His eyes become sheets of black, pulsating energy. His form becomes unnatural and closer to that of the avatar, leaking consumptive lashes of energy. When speaking, smoke-like trails of energy rise from his mouth. His back retains the wings of his soul slayer, massive fields of nothingness that stretch to erase all but his own presence. Some might call him an angel in appearance, others a demon. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

His newly imbued body is able to move with inhuman poise, control, and react with lightening speed. The benefit of this ability is that Kyuu has melded with his Zanpakutou, taking on a partial energy state. This allows Kyuu to ignore some of the physical limitations placed on matter, and not energy. Because he has shifted his form into a partial-energy state, Kyuu is blessed with at 45% increase to his hohou stat.

Attack – Essential Immolation – 2% of Kyuu’s reiatsu

If an opponent comes into physical contact with the energy outpouring from his bankai release, Kyuu can elect to use this attack. The energy that constantly pours out of Essential has a natural act of consuming reiatsu upon contact. By fueling the energy of his weapon with a significant portion of his own reiatsu, he is able to start a chain reaction that can cause significant damage to his enemies.

Anyone one unfortunate enough to be subjected to it receives no effects on the round of contact. However, reach round thereafter, based on the chat below, gives a detrimental effect.

Attack – Essential Disjunction – 1% reiatsu per round
This attack is the direct promotion of Essential’s shikai attack.
The weapon's energies cause matter to distort and warp temporarily, unable to function. If it strikes energy, the energy simply phases out, becoming a phantom-like and insubstantial. Matter contacted shimmers and distorts as if a distant mirage in the desert. While in this state, the effected energy/matter cannot channel reiatsu or function in any capacity.(It should be noted that if the head or chest is struck the victim is not rendered dead, rather that their entire form is subject to the paralysis.)

Any spiritual or physical matter or energy that contacts the blade or its spiritual avatar is subject to an affect based on the following table.

Less then 1/4 of Kyuu’s reiatsu in total strength
Matter or energy this weak is dissolved completely based on the shape and nature of the Zanpakutou's contact, as well as the struck appendage or energy being paralyzed/made insubstantial.
Duration of the paralysis is x2 on things of this strength.

Duration of the paralysis on matter/energy of this strength is 1x.

Additional information
The incapacitation lasts for a length of time dependent on Kyuu’s connection OR if Essential is sealed it ends at the end of that turn. When Kyuu’s weapon reverts to its normal form, the lingering energy is no longer controlled and will dissipate rapidly. Otherwise, it will congeal on a target struck for one round for every 3000 total connection Kyuu possesses, up to a maximum of 10 rounds when Kyuu has achieved 30000 connection.

Attack – Falling Stars – 10% of Kyuu's Reiatsu
By channeling his will over the outpouring of powerful energies the sword creates, Kyuu is able to harness a ranged attack against his enemies. Kyuu is able to compress great volumes of the energy into a number of small spheres, and then launch these projectiles at his enemy.

Range
For every 1000 connection attained, Kyuu is able to shoot these spheres another 10' per round.

Number
For every 3000 connection attained, Kyuu is able to generate another sphere.

Effect
For each sphere of impact, the opponent suffers 6% of Kyuu's reiatsu as a burn to their own as a 10' wide mini-nova of consuming energies wash over them. Each of these spheres is able to be locked in to an opponent's reiatsu signature. While this gives them a homing like quality, it does not ensure their successful hit always. Each sphere will learn from its predecessor, increasing the likelihood of a successful strike.

If Kyuu elects to concentrate on the attack, he may attempt to reroute missed projectiles towards the target again, but this requires concentration and can therefore leave him vulnerable to certain attacks. The speed of the attack is based upon Kyuu's Zanjutsu stat for determining a hit.

Ri Caishin - Shikai Release

Release Phrase:
"Let the Winds blow, Kamiarashi (Divine Storm)"

Spiritual Manifestation:
The Kamiarashi are represented by four figures, each of which represents a Wind. The North Wind is represented by an old man, garbed in white and lined with age but fell in aspect. The East Wind is a young man, who appears angelic, but his hands and gray robes are stained with blood. The West Wind is another young man, garbed in blue, but he seems kindlier. The South Wind is a woman, garbed in red and with blindingly white hair. The Four Winds at time disagree on methods, although it is only together that they can provide Ri with any power.

Form:
Upon speaking the release phrase, Ri's Zanpakutou melts away and dissapears.

Abilities:
A summary of the abilities of this Zanpakutou.

Ability 1: Blades of Wind
Although Ri has lost the physical form of his Zanpakutou - Kamiarashi accomodates that by allowing him to form blades of wind. Initially, the number of blades that can be manifested is 2. This number increases per 3k connection (so 3 blades at 4k connection, 4 blades at 7k connection). If he chooses, Ri can wield one of these blades directly, in which case it functions essentially as his Zanpakutou. He cannot form the blade directly inside of an object or person. He can dissipate a blade at will.

Manifesting a blade of wind costs Ri 100 reiatsu per blade.

Ability 2: Tranparency of the Wind
The manifested blades are difficult to see for those of insufficient power. They are composed of constantly shifting wind, and are difficult to distinguish from the texture of the air itself.

  • Reiatsu < 50% of Ri's : Opponents of this caliber have difficulty even perceiving the blades at all, even if they have been attacked by the blades. Defensive measures and counters cannot target or reference the blades directly.
  • Reiatsu >= 50% but < 175% of Ri's : Opponents of this caliber can perceive the blades, but find it difficult to predict their movements and positions. The blades are 70% translucent to individuals of this power.
  • Reiatsu >= 175% of Ri's : Opponents of this caliber can perceive the blades normally and without hindrance.

Attacks:
A description of the attacks of this Zanpakutou.

Attack 1: Hands of Wind
The wind touches everyone. Kamiarashi allows him to not only manifest the blades of wind, but to wield them effecitvely in battle. Ri may use the blades he is able to manifest as though he were directly wielding them, using his Zanjutsu stat as normal. The blade's movement is limited by Ri's own abilities, and as such are limited by his Hohou stat. Ri cannot push the blades farther than he could travel himself in a single turn.

In addition, Ri can use his blades of wind ability to manipulate one additional object. This movement is not abrupt enough to be considered a strike or an attack, instead it applies steady consistent pressure, such as that necessary to hold a door closed or to open a window. Fine and precise actions, such as feeding a coin into a coin machine, cannot be done with this level of manipulation.

the wording/numbers in the attack (subtle machinations) is kind of awkward, particularly the stuff about '50%'. Change this to something like:

After piercing of the skin has occurred, an expenditure of 5% reiatsu is required to activate the dormant parasites created by the tentacle and inject them into the bloodstream. After this they begin consuming reiatsu at a rate of 2% of Riku's reiatsu for every round the tentacle remains lodged into the target's flesh. A portion of the energy from the consumed reiatsu is transferred back to Riku, who can use it to gradually repair injuries or simply nourish his body.

Just nix the part about refilling your own rei; doesnt make sense in the case of an attack that has to be paid for in the first place and overly complicates things.

Bugu araihada (Rough-skinned armor)
His initial discovery will be that of one for defense. During the releasing of his reiatsu, the energy seeping from his pores can quickly hardened, forming an early form of his true Bugu-araihada. This pre-defensive system relies highly on Tenyo’s durability, just as an impact to one playing sports with padding. Of course, like all defenses, when used strategically, it can become a brut offensive force.

At initial discovery, Bugu-araihada costs 1/2 of Harmony in rieatsu, unwillingly.
It adds 10% to other stats: Resistance.


The Bugu-araihada is formed from the rising smoke from his pores. When Tenyo’s reiatsu level becomes stronger, heat waves can be seen from others just prior to seeing the dark smoke. This may be counterproductive in fighting as it may serve as an early warning system to his enemies. The heat and reiatsu that burns the particles in the air around him forms the ash and black smoke that forges Bugu-araihada. When this process is slowed, it forges a stronger layer of protection as more ash builds.

During the first stage, his abilities will grow…
Bugu-ariahada will take on more of the appearance of a full armor. He will still maintain the fortified exoskeleton skin, while acquiring metallic like pieces. These armored pieces will cover the back of his fist up to his forearm; a pad that covers his shoulder blade to mid-bicep; a metallic dragon scaled breast and backplate; and high boots that has knee cover. The outer padding is forged to handle impact while the exoskeleton skin serves as a mechanism to fill the voids.

At first stage, Bugu-ariahada costs 20% of Harmony in reiatsu.

Though it seems he is fully guarded by this one armor, he still has many weaknesses. The armor itself can only withstand that of Tenyo’s will. If Tenyo starts to lose his ability to withstands the enemy attacks, the armor will start to slowly ash away. He also has no helmet, and he still feels the impact from attacks. Him being sliced is less likely to occur, but it still depends on his enemy strength, of course.

Iki wo haku (To exhale, Breathe)

With the name being translated, it is not meant that Tenyo will breathe fire. As one of the facets of Bugu araihada, Tenyo will be able to engaged in a fiery combat. This originally had no name, but Tenyo deemed it necessary to call it Iki wo haku; felt as though he is the dragon, and his fists are the breath that causes the damages to enemies. After only taking on a thin layer of Bugu-araihada around his fists, a releasing of reiatsu may be used to re-ignite that layer of ash. The comparison is that of charcoals. Although material used to form Bugu araihada has been already burned, like charcoal, with enough heat from his internal inferno, Tenyo can maintain a fist of fire. He can also allow a chunk of armor at his palm and throw the engulfed chunk. This is a weaker attack and only has the velocity of his throwing strength. He would be better off punching, but it can be useful if used tactically.


2nd Ability: costs 10% of Harmony in reiatsu to maintain.
Stat boost: 10% boost in Combat stat.

Melee attacks: deals 25% of Tenyo's boosted Combat stat.

and
Melee attacks with Bugu-araihada: doubles that of the previous.

Haisou(To take flight)

This rare ability comes to Tenyo as a surprise, prior to his True Awakening, but not at the same time as his Iki wo Haku and Bugu-araihada. When he discovers this ability, he will have to quickly learn that it's not actually flying, but rather a propulsion of energy. The burst of reiatsu will be directed from his backplate of his armor. He must also learn to gauge the thrust of the propulsion. Over thrust, can lead to an unstoppable uncontrollable launch. May be deadly if his enemies capitalize on his miscalculations. If done tactically with a jump, Tenyo can reach higher grounds, or appear to fly as he is gliding off the momentum.

If Tenyo's Agility stats is equaled or more than 25% (1/4) greater than opponent's, then it would appear Tenyo has attained Shunpo or Hirenyaku. Anyone with more agility will see it as only a faster Jyanpo (Jump)
