Strange Japanese pines, Kadomatsu, sat in pairs lining the path from the gates of Adelaide’s property to the mansion. The pine branches of the strange plant surround three shoots of bamboo of varying heights, little flower arrangements surrounding the pine boughs and bamboo shoots. Small ornamental baubles radiated a glow in the Western-inspired Kadomatsu. In the courtyard a massive evergreen stood, coated in tinsel, lights and snow.

Pierce’s estate had a series of mundane souls in beautiful gowns standing on the steps up to her door, seemingly not uncomfortable despite the newfallen snow. They sang, a beautiful rendition of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony filling the air as guests from noble estates and the Gotei Thirteen were welcomed into the mansion by two women, the Naitous. Shinobu, a woman with orange hair and a black blouse and skirt welcomed people with warmth and affection, mentioning how much ‘Pierce-sama’ was going to appreciate their attendance, and beside her the silver-haired Momoko directed people around the mansion – the entry hall, the ballroom, lthe Long Gallery all were points of interest.

Inside the mansion stood another evergreen, this one with men and women in elegant dress serving alcohol, small items of food, and various festive things and seasonal warmth. The stairs rose toward the back wall and arched around the room, leading to the most ostentatious part of the house. The ceilins of the entryway were high, but on either side of the entry were corridors called the Long Gallery, areas filled with life and attendees of the event Adelaide and the Women’s Association were hosting. Paintings, beautiful maps of Rukongai and the redhead’s home district of Mitakihara were among all the splendid and majestic wonders around. Above, lights hung from a golden ceiling that screamed both money and influence, and chairs lined the Long Gallery’s walls, between artworks on the inner wall and windows overlooking the snowy courtyard on the other.

It was time for a party.

The soft crunch of snow under one pair of bare feet and a second pair of feet wearing sandals permeated the air, coming off slightly louder than the occasional howl of December air. The two feet belonged to the Tegishahara siblings, both walking side by side to the Pierce estate to enjoy the festivities hosted by the Briton captain herself. The two occasionally let out exclaims of astonishment and admiration as they walked past the decorated trees and other various elements that showed how wealthy the captain was. Such was the life of a noble and captain of the Gotei Thirteen.

Both siblings were clad in kimonos, though different in many aspects. Ren's kimono was one resembling the one she wore when using her Koutaizumai. An off-white kimono with light peace floral patterns decorating the bottom of the outfit, with a light violet sash that tied around her waist to keep her kimono in place and from opening. Underneath, she wore a white blouse and had her Koutaizumai wrapped delicately around her neck. Her hair was brushed back and tied into a bun, with a simple hair-tie keeping it from running wild. Nevada, however, was different. A solid black kimono with the only design being the symbol of the Eighth, with 'Tegishahara' underneath the insignia and a scarlet sash was what she wore. There was a possible layer of white clothing underneath, but it was hardly seen due to how tight she kept her kimono. Her feet were, as per her usual, bare and slightly off colour, though that was possibly due to the cold weather finally getting to her. Her hair was tied back in a braid, but her bangs still hung loosely to the sides of her face, nearly framing the young features of the spellswordstress.

Ren's azure eyes scanned the room, stopping only to bow her head briefly to the gathering of people that had already arrived. Nevada went her separate way, possibly to find Udo. The two were supposed to ask Adelaide for marshmallows, and she was far from confident enough to ask for the delicacy. Ren, however, was wanting to find the Briton. She wanted to talk to her, to enjoy the peace of Christmas and possibly a conversation with her captain, something she couldn't find the chance to do as often as she wanted to. Maybe if she found Adelaide, she'd find the younger Pierce, Adele, as well. The more the merrier.

It had occurred to Alexia that she had never been inside of Adelaide’s home before. She knew that the Mystic had nobility, and that she had been working on the household for a while now, but this was the first time the Italian would be able to lay eyes on the place. And it was amazing to see, trees decorated with lights and ornaments, the men and women who served the house of Pierce dressed professionally. Alexia smiled, pleased that her dear friend had made a very decent living for herself.

When she stepped inside, a woman with orange hair greeted her.

“Good day, Madam Felone. May I take your coat?” she offered.

Alexia nodded, removing the thick coat she had worn to walk through the cold, revealing an extravagant black dress. She held out the coat to her, giving a quick ‘thank you’, and then made her way inside the house to find her fellow female members, plucking a glass of wine of a passing butler’s tray as she did.

Oh god what the hell am I doing here? I should be in Rukon right now, not at a party. Hikaru thought as he slowly trudged up the stairs of an illustrious building, It'l be a miracle if I don't get chased off the property.

The fire-eyed mage was wearing a thick black leather cloak over heavy grey jeans, and a red blazer beneath. Atop a thick mess of highlight streaked, raven black hair he sported a white-rimmed pair of electric blue goggles, and hidden beneath that cloak was the same wooden masmune, and silver dream catcher. The teen-aged looking shinigami hadn't taken either of them off his person since his, "heart to heart" with the two people he'd actually had a any inkling of a relationship with. the neko-gami: Adele Pierce, and Ren Teshigara. Neither of which he wanted to see right now, which only added to the ludicrousness of attending this new years party. Miyazaki Hikaru was supposed to be leaving for Rukon tonight.

The century old mage turned his eyes up to the roof of the building, and heaved a great sigh as he shuffled past the greeter's... greetings at the door. "Oh, Kami. I'm gonna regret this, but here goes stupid."

Adele followed by her younger siblings entered Mitakihara. "Now, there will be a lot of shinigami here you haven't met. Please, please try to be polite. I can't have you starting trouble with Onee-chan's friends," the nekogami instructed as they entered the large house.

"Yes, Onee-chan." Tia and Zechariah nodded in unison. The ravenette grinned; she was happy as she had managed to dress her older siblings (except Adelaide, but the pale girl would get her hands on the redhead yet. The Mystic captain would not escape being turned into a dress up doll). Beside her, her brother shifted uncomfortably in his navy three piece suit complete with a matching bow tie. The afrosoul's only comfort was that he'd been allowed to wear a suit vest instead of a stuffy suit jacket.

Picking at the cuffs of his grey, stiff, button down dress shirt, the boy grumbled. "Why'd you have to let her dress us?"

"Because resistance is futile," Adele nodded sagely, adjusting her own outfit. The nekogami usually never wore anything so... Western, but her otouto's discomfort almost made up for it. The kitty twitched in her own lavender dress. It was a simple empire styled affair with silver snowflake like patterns on the bodice and a sparkly grey skirt. The hem of the skirt swept around her ankles, revealing flashes of her matching shoes every other step when the three inch heels didn't make her stumble.

"You're a shinigami!" Zechariah protested, steadying his older sister before she could fall in the snow.

"So? You think that saves her from my fashionista powers?" Tia asked jokingly, her brown eyes glinting merrily. The short ravenette bounced around her siblings, her bright red dress fluttering around her small frame. The dress had a full skirt and bell capped sleeves. Two columns of black velvety buttons decorated the front of the bodice and a dark green sash hugged her waist tied in a bow at the small of her back.

"I suppose not... short of a natural disaster there's no escaping your clutches," the boy said, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

"Just be glad she didn't do your hair," Adele advised as she lead her siblings back to their home. "Hey, look, there's Ren-chan." Purple cat ears swiveled towards the Tegishaharas. "And she's brought her little sister Nevada-san with her."

"Ren-san!" Tia bounded towards one of the few shinigami she actually liked. "Ren-san, Ren-san, it's so nice to see you. Is that your sister? What's her name? She's cute, but she doesn't look like you." The questions and greeting were shot at the raven haired Mystic rapidly.

Zechariah appeared beside her and bopped her on the head gently. "Oi, Habanero-chan, give Ren-san and Nevada-san a chance to talk."

"Ow, you're going to mess up my hair, Onii-chan," the short civilian whined, rubbing her head.

"I think you beat him to it," Adele chided gently, batting Tia's hands away from her elegant braid. "Now hold still a moment, before it's beyond repair." She began repairing her little sister's hairstyle with Soshi and looked up to smile at Ren and Nevada, "Hello."

[517/517]

The moment she heard her name spoken, the ebony-haired Mystic turned her head, a few select locks of hair falling free from her bun to fall before her face. The younger side of the Pierce family had shown up, in full sprint and an arsenal of questions no less. Nevada heard the mention of a sister, but tended to her current 'mission' of finding her close friend.

"Good evening, Tia-chan. Uh, yes, that is my sister. Her name's Nevada. And I suppose we don't look alike, but she's not flesh and blood. I adopted her a few months ago. She's a shinigami just like me and she goes to the Eighth Division." The vampire knelt slightly, coming to a crouch to level her face with Tia's. She casted a glance at the outfit that she was dressed in, smiling wide. "You look beautiful, Tia-chan. Just like your big sister."

Ren turned her attention to Adele, rising up to stand just a few inches over the younger Mystic. She embraced her in a light hug, whispering how glad she was to see her friend. "I'm glad you could come. Are you, Tia-chan and Zechariah-kun doing well?"

At Ren's compliment, the youngest of the Pierce siblings was rendered speechless as a pretty blush dusted her face. The girl barely managed to squeak out a "thank you Ren-san" before bouncing around even more. There was no keeping Tia still. "Oh my Kami did you hear that Zechariah she said I'm like Onee-chan!"

"Habanero!" The afrosoul gave the end of his hyper sister's hair a tug. "You can blow up later. Right now we're supposed to be acting like cool headed normal people."

"Hmph! I bet you're just jealous Ren-onee-chan didn't say anything about you," Tia sniffed.

Zechariah sighed and shook his head, but otherwise paid his little sister's comment no mind. Turning to Nevada he gave a polite bow, "Hello Nevada-san. It's nice to meet you." Hopefully the ravenette would remember their big sister's request that they behave.

Adele returned Ren's embrace, smiling. "It's good to see you, too Ren-chan. We're doing well. We would have been here already to greet the guests, but these two decided to visit the Tenth..." she looked back to where her siblings had been standing. Had was the operative word in this case, as only one of her siblings remained. The nekogami's ears turned before the rest of her noggin followed.

"Oh, no...." The feline Mystic resisted the urge to bury her face in her hands.

There was no keeping Tia still. The pint sized pale girl had made her way towards Hikaru. The bouncing ball of energy wrapped in red and green was jumping around the sword mage rather excitedly. "Hika-teme! What are you doing here? Huh? I didn't expect to see you either! Ren-onee-chan was a surprise too, but she was a pleasant one. You're not a girl. Or are you? I thought Onii-chan was the only guy here because we made him come. You should have seen how hard it was to make him wear nice clothes, that jerk wouldn't even let me flat iron his hair." She paused for breath and tugged a piece of Hikaru's hair.

"Nee, nee, Hika-teme, don't you have a little sister to do your hair? If you don't I can be your little sister part time! No one should be without an adorable imouto! But I can't do it full time cause Onee-chan needs me. And I still have to get Onee-sama! But that can wait. I've got you!" A glint appeared in the small girl's eye that should have sent him running. The poor boy had fallen into the mini-Pierce's nicely manicured clutches.

Speaking of clutches, the vampire that was previously talking to the young Pierce was beside the girl once more. She placed a delicate, yet firm, hand on Tia's shoulder, casting a glance at Hikaru. "Tia-chan, can you come over here with me and Adele-chan? I want you to show me how you styled your beautiful hair. You can do the same to Hikaru later~"

It was the closest thing to saving Hikaru's pride that Ren could do. The ravenette Mystic slowly escorted the bundle of joy back to her respective sister, casting a glance at her own. Nevada was speaking with the younger Zech, though her head was swiveling back and forth. The blonde spellswordstress was giving faint, halfhearted replies to him, but still managed to maintain a bit of respect and manners. Well, the kind of manners one would expect from a woman who shows up to a festive event barefoot.

“Tormenting Miyazaki?” laughed a very proper Englishwoman, “As much as I love watching him squirm, my darling Tia, we are hosting guests from the Gotei. If you mean to make over all of them that could use it, it might take you quite a while.”

The redhead’s hair was worn down and braided, a long and beautiful ponytail hanging behind her. Her fire-red locks were adorned with gold and emerald trinkets that brought out her eyes marvelously. The dress the Captain wore was elegant and remarkably English, a rich tone of purple with flares of gold matching the colors on the banners that hung around the home. Everything about her radiated far more comfort than most of the members of the Gotei had seen on her features in years; this was her element after all.

The Briton offered her mask-aficionado subordinate a bow, a slightly surprising gesture from a Captain and a noble to someone who was neither, but one that suited Adelaide’s demeanor well. “Ren, I trust my family is making you feel welcome,” she said with a bright smile.

By even saying Hikaru’s name, she had given him about the level of recognition he probably could’ve expected from her, and she hoped a cold chill would run down his spine when she had approached so suddenly, so at the moment her attention was firmly on her own siblings and on the Tegishaharas, she might as well have not been able to see the speelsword she had flash-fried for all the notice she spared him now.

Poor Miyazaki had been bombarded with stimuli the second he walked into the room, first Adele's fashion crazy sister, yanking on his hair and attacking him with questions; then thankfully a much needed rescue from Ren-chan,(he would have to remember to thank her later) but now the only captain who didn't understand what a pillow fight was had shown up. Wonderful, the blowtorch captain is here. As if this day could get any better.

The old man knew he would see her eventually, after all it was her house. He was just hoping he'd be too drunk to remember seeing her when he did. However she seemed preoccupied with her family at the moment, which was fine by him. If she didn't feel like dealing with him, that meant he didn't have to speak to her. In turn that meant he could try to make a few festivities before he left for Rukon.

So in a small bow he greeted the vampire ravenette respectfully, "Thank you Ren-san. I'm not sure I would have been able to escape Tia-chan on my own." He straightened his hair, which was nothing mores than shaking his head so his thick locks fell back I to place, and regarded the smaller woman. Isn't that the same kimono she wore when we met?the Mage asked himself, his dark orange eyes shifting from bewildered to a slightly curious expression why wouldn't she be wearing a kimono like usuall? Or a town thing? Doesn't she feel comfortable here? I mean it is her home division.

Then he shook the thought away, the old spell blade was probably over thinking it, "I just arrived, how's the party so far?"

"God what am I doing here in such a place like this," Reshin thought as he traversed the home of the oh so loaded Captain of the Tenth Division. Initially he only came to this place assuming that it was just for a normal new years gathering, but as it turned out this was easily one of the greatest spectacles that the solemn shinigami had ever witnessed in his life.

Though he could probably make due without all of the hundreds of fellow souls surrounding him. For the love of everything that was good and pure he just could not stand to be in such large crowds. Given he was kind of expecting this to a degree, but regardless he always hated being in a place where he felt closed in. He never really liked conversing with people that were estranged to him anyways so the reason he came, if there was any at all, seemed to be a rather stupid move on his part.

Never the less if he could at least find some people he knew around here than it wouldn't be all bad. Making his way through the crowd he impatiently made an attempt to see if he could possibly find Adele anywhere knowing that she, like her new sister, would be one of the major gems in this assortment of majestic looking stones. Not too long after that his crimson eyes turned to recognize not only Adele, but also her siblings and Ren with Nevada . Come to think of it he hadn't spoken to any of them in quite a while, but unfortunately for him as he made his way to join them a familiar figure which he wished he never saw again appeared before him.

"That damn Miyazaki is here too," he groaned to himself as his now speed walking turned into a slow trudge. Of all the people to attend this party why did it have to be someone as fucking irritating as him? Once he made his way to the group he instantly bowed in a polite manner before them making sure to avoid eye contact with the nuisance on his left side.

"Hello everyone. I didn't expect to see anyone I knew in this mob of a well dressed crowd," Reshin joked half-heartedly figuring that his greeting would be followed up by a retarded and non-sensible remark from his unruly peer. He and Miyazaki were definitely foes that couldn't stand each other obviously. Although with the current place and time he doubt that Hikaru would be dumb enough to try him here. Rather Reshin though it dumb if Hikaru challenged him anywhere considering that his dimwitted "rival" didn't necessarily have a respectable battle history.

Challenging a captain was practically suicide, and on top of that being roasted repeatedly wasn't a good look either. Hell Reshin didn't really have a problem dealing with him just a year ago when they met. Which led him to think how such a pathetic screw up like him was ever allowed entry into the Gotei Thirteen. Aside from this he simply would ignore Hikaru Miyazaki this day since he felt that it was not a good time to start a feud. Rather he decided that he would make this a party to remember with his fellow comrades. Murdering the roach could come another time.

Okay, so she had the time to sneak around places, and this is definitely not a place she sneaked into, ever. But there she was, walking in with a dandy lavender kimono, with an orange obi wrapped around her waist that emphasized all the curves her body ever had. Her hair was in an elegant updo, adorned only by a large plum blossom, with Adelaide's gift beads dangling on two strings.

Seriously, where are all these lavish parties coming from? the thought drifted at her mind as her auburn eyes stared at the vast expanse of the Pierce estate, blinking at the overly-extravagant setting of, well, everything! At one moment, perhaps, she even forgot what she was there for.

Adele sighed in a mixture of relief and disappointment when Ren ferried Tia away from her wayward student. Her purple cat ears twitched when her sister showed up. A smile made its way back to the nekogami's face as she arrived just in time to hear Tia saying, "Onee-sama!"

"Onee-chan watch-" Tia glomped Adelaide and began nuzzling her cheek, "out..." The feline ,shinigami sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "I asked her to behave, I promise...."

"There's no helping Habanero-chan," Zechariah said, shaking his head sadly and giving Adele a pat on the shoulder.

"I suppose not," the second oldest Pierce sibling sighed again.

"Hey, you're that frog," Zechariah's bright green eyes locked on Hikaru. "Hi Froggie-san, I didn't know you would be here. Tell me, do you like explosives and hot peppers?"

"Jerk!" Tia glared at her brother, but didn't detach herself from Adelaide. The afrosoul only smiled and adjusted his suit vest.

"It was a legitimate question," Adele shrugged, an innocent expression crossing her face. Her Taidan flashed briefly as she informed the eldest of the Pierces on the newest plot to torment their youngest sibling. Apparently Miyazaki is a frog and since Tia just loves frogs, she likes him by extension. At least that's what Zechariah-chan told me; every time I bring it up in front of Ti-chan she turns red, it's really adorable.

Looking Hikaru dead in the eye she asked, "Do you like explosives and habaneros, Miyazaki-chan?" If Hikaru had any sense, he would know not to trust the guiltless expression on his neko-sensei's face. If he was intelligent at all he would run in the opposite direction.

[275/1273]

*insert evil laughter here*

Just as the mage finished speaking, he noticed a familiar, infuriatingly shadowy energy signature pass behind him. Him. Hikaru was well prepared to settle his "disagreement" with the taller spellblade, but before Hikaru could whirl around to stare down his jackass of a comrade, Adele's younger brother Zechariah interrupted him.

"Hey, you're that frog," The boy said, locking his striking green eyes with his own."Hi Froggie-san, I didn't know you would be here. Tell me, do you like explosives and hot peppers?"

Judging from Tia's outburst after the afrosoul's statement, it was obviously a loaded question. With what it was loaded, the orange eyed mage was not sure; he did know however that he needed to proceed carefully. Hikaru eyed the young man in his suitvest, then his sister as he tried to decide how to answer.

Well I can't very well lie to either of them, besides. Its not like the world will end if I tell the truth. The mage reasoned in his mind, then scratching at a pretend itch on his head he replied carefully. "I'm not sure where all this 'froggy' bushiness came from, or really whats going on here. However," he paused and turned to face the small girl shrugging his shoulders, "yes. Yes, I do like hot peppers they're one of my favorite foods, and I don't really have a problem with explosions. Well just so long as I'm not caught in one, they tend to be painfull."

Miyazaki watched the both of them, and unconsciously gripped the handle of his wood masumune. If he was going to be attacked with a giant hot pepper, well. They wouldn't catch him slipping.

The vampire Mystic bowed her head respectively to her captain, managing to ignore - if only barely successfully - the tormenting going on towards Hikaru. "Your family is kind to me, as always. I'm enjoying the festivities as well, Adelaide-taichou. Thank you for inviting my sister and I to your home."

Ren offered a kind smile, turning to look for her younger sibling. She spotted the blonde spellswordstress some distance away, possibly looking for Udo. The Mystic returned her attention to the group, or more specifically the 'loaded' question the former Ama family proposed to Hikaru. "Christmas is the season for forgiving and joy, correct? Why torment Hikaru-kun, young Pierce's?" she asked, though a smile managed to find its way onto her features.

Universal Disclaimer
Tsubaki is going through quite a bit post-tournament and while it isn't all written out yet and stone-set I'm going to be treating the better part of her demeanor like it is. So, if this seems a departure from the norm that would be why.

"Miss, may I take your-"

If she had meant to cut across the poor servant with a gaze it was entirely unintentional. The once-Templar Queen merely gave the boy a polite enough shake of the head, then conceded to undo two of the top snaps that held the well-worn but still presentable leather jacket tight against her skin. Beneath it the hint of a black cocktail dress lingered just out of sight, accompanied by a slapdash accompaniment of bracelets and bangles on her wrists. Sadly, as she had opted to wear her hair up the long scar that had been a recent but sobering addition to her face stood plain as day with nothing to conceal it.

Lessons to learn, it seemed.

"I meant no offense, apologies." With a flat tone and a small nod of her head Tsubaki departed from the ushers near the entrance, letting her black heels click against the polished floors of the mansion as she took in the over extravagance that House Pierce had to offer.

Forced to spearhead matters in Maikeru's absence. Wealth and status shoved where leadership should be. Won't call to question here, not the time, not the place. Needs to happen sometime however.

Without complaint or comment the former Captain walked through the Long Gallery, wondering to herself how long it would be before their host made herself known to all.

Wait, what?
Win or lose, Miya's coming home after that bounty. So why not start her return to SS off with a party!

“Why are we going to this party again, ojisan?” the young woman’s pale green dress glinted in the light, highlighted by sky blues mirroring the color of her eyes, mostly covered in a thick wolf fur coat. Kasumi already knew why they were going. Her uncle was hoping to expand his mead business clientele to the nobles, if not the SWA. His rather overt attempts to get her to join the organization over the past years were an easy indication of that. So instead she smiled as they neared the mansion’s grounds.

“Go on, you’ll be fine,” Arthur moved his hand to ruffle his hair as he always did. Only inches from her head did he move his hand down to her shoulder instead, the though of messing up her dressed up hair made him shudder. Not that she would get overly angry with him, and not because he towered over most people. Kasumi was just like that. His own attire was not covered up in furs. He was used to the cold. The cold reminded him of his home in the Netherlands. With a shrug Arthur hauled the cart full of mead barrels he had brought along to the delivery entrance of the mansion.

Fine, yes, alone with people she’d barely ever met. Kasumi bit her lip in hesitation. Ominous trees and decorations loomed ahead with the ethereal classical music echoing from beyond. She should be back at home in case there was word of her mother being found. She should be there in case she needed help. Glancing down the street the way she and her adoptive uncle had just travelled down, the young woman’s heart caught in her throat.

“Mama?” her eyes welled with tears. Obviously the woman walking towards her was her mother. Her signature violet scarf paired with those caring hazel eyes screamed the truth.

Everything in Miya said to run and hug her daughter. But in such a prestigious area, and wearing a borrowed dress she had snatched out of the closet. Black was such a hard color to pull off without proper tailoring, but the fabric hung so well. Then the familiar warmth of Arthur’s fur coats sealed the deal. All because they had forgotten their invitation on the dining room table. Finally reaching Kasumi, Miya embraced her daughter in a hug that seemed to last forever.

“Let’s go in, shall we? I don’t have a meeting with Amaterasu-taichou until the morning.” she signed to he daughter. They were together, and that was what mattered. They were together, and that was what mattered. They walked in together to see the sights and sounds of the event.

At hearing Hikaru's answer Tia turned a rather festive shade of red. Her face almost matched Adelaide's hair color. Zechariah chuckled and smirked at his sister, "Hear that, Habanero-chan? Says he likes hot peppers. He doesn't even mind explosives which is great cause you look like you're about to blow up."

"TEME! That's not what he meant!" Tia protested, finally letting go of her oldest sister in favor of shaking her fist at her brother. "And I'm not gonna blow up!"

"That's what you say bomb-omb," the green eyed boy said merrily.

Adele smiled serenely and looked towards Ren, "Of course we forgive him!" She pulled Hikaru to her side in a half hug, her lips curling into a vicious smirk, "We're even treating him like family!" The nekogami made sure to squeeze hard enough to give the poor boy trouble breathing. "We just thought Kaeru-chan here should know how much Ti-chan loves frogs."

"Yeah, Ren-san," Zechariah grinned. "We're not tormenting him, yet. If we wanted to do that we'd have let Habanero-chan spirit him away."

"Hey!" Tia protested, "It's not torment if I don't make him wear a dress."

Adele hid a snicker behind her free hand and tightened her grip on her student so the poor swordmage couldn't get away. "She's telling the truth," the nekogami said, sounding thoroughly amused.

I believe kaeru means frog, so she's essentially calling Hikaru "little frog".

As expected from the group he was hopelessly ignored and even though he felt slightly resentful at least he got the chance to watch Miyazaki get pushed around like the little punk ass bitch he really was. This made Reshin get over his hurt feelings for the moment as he chuckled at his bitch made friend's sticky situation. How sad Hikaru must have looked at that very instant just made him wanna run into the nearest corner and laugh his ass off at his not so fellow Eighth Division member's suffering.

But since this would make him seem a bit odd he opted to instead hold in his hysterical laughter and exchange it with a pleased grin while he gave Hikaru a look that practically screamed "Sucks to be you hoe!" Then turning his attention to the Taichou of the Tenth herself he formally introduced himself. Bowing his head as he spoke he tried to be as much of a gentlemen as possible when addressing his superior and noblewoman.

"Hello Lady Pierce," he started off. "My name is Reshin Izukawa of the Eighth Division, and I would like to thank you on behalf of our own division for setting our friend over there straight," he said as he eyed Hikaru who was too busy being low key abused to notice. He just couldn't help but make Hikaru look as bad as possible in an attempt to gain favor for the rest of the Division.

"The Eighth Division sincerely apologizes for his rash behavior and his more recent outbursts. I understand his behavior makes our Division's morale seem lacking, but I promise you that we take individual discipline very seriously. If it helps mend the relationship between our two Divisions I'd like to request a possible get together in the Eighth's barracks to help work things out in a more constructive manner," he suggested in as genuine of a voice as he could muster.

He already knew from hearing about it back at the barracks how Adelaide Pierce could not stand Hikaru and that seemed to only become more clear with each day. Reshin hoped to take advantage of this so that they would all be able to get past this at the expense of Hikaru's well being.
